図1は、本技術の一実施形態の二次電池の斜視構成を表しており、図2は、図1に示した巻回電極体10のII−II線に沿った断面構成を表している。また、図3は、図2に示した巻回電極体10の詳細な断面構成を表している。なお、図1では、便宜上、巻回電極体10と外装部材20とを離間させている。
ここで説明する二次電池は、電極反応物質であるリチウム(Li)の吸蔵放出により負極14の容量が得られるリチウムイオン二次電池である。
正極13は、正極集電体13Aの片面または両面に正極活物質層13Bを有している。正極集電体13Aは、例えば、アルミニウム、ニッケルおよびステンレスなどの導電性材料により形成されている。
(Mは、Co、Mn、Fe、Al、V、Sn、Mg、Ti、Sr、Ca、Zr、Mo、Tc、Ru、Ta、W、Re、Yb、Cu、Zn、Ba、B、Cr、Si、Ga、P、SbおよびNbのいずれか1種類または2種類以上である。zは、0.005<z<0.5を満たす。)
負極14は、負極集電体14Aの片面または両面に負極活物質層14Bを有している。
セパレータ15は、正極13と負極14とを隔離して、両極の接触に起因する電流の短絡を防止しながらリチウムイオンを通過させるものである。このセパレータ15は、例えば、合成樹脂およびセラミックなどの多孔質膜であり、2種類以上の多孔質膜が積層された積層膜でもよい。合成樹脂は、例えば、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン、ポリプロピレンおよびポリエチレンなどである。
電解質層16は、電解液と、第2高分子化合物である電解質用高分子化合物とを含んでいる。すなわち、電解質層16は、電解質用高分子化合物により電解液が保持されたゲル状の電解質である。高いイオン伝導率(例えば、室温で1mS/cm以上)が得られると共に、電解液の漏液が防止されるからである。ただし、電解質層16は、必要に応じて、添加剤などの他の材料を含んでいてもよい。
接着層17は、負極14と電解質層16との間に介在することで、両者を互いに密着させるためのものである。
この二次電池では、例えば、充電時に、正極13から放出されたリチウムイオンが電解液を介して負極14に吸蔵されると共に、放電時に、負極14から放出されたリチウムイオンが電解液を介して正極13に吸蔵される。
この二次電池は、例えば、以下の手順により製造される。
この二次電池によれば、負極14と電解質層16との間に接着層17が挿入されている。この接着層17の接着用高分子化合物は、負極14の結着用高分子化合物と同様に極性基を含んでいると共に、電解質層16の電解質用高分子化合物の高分子鎖と同じ高分子鎖を含んでいる。この場合には、上記したように、結着用高分子化合物として機械的強度に優れたエンジニアリングプラスチックなどを用いることで、充放電時に負極活物質の膨張収縮による影響が抑制される。しかも、極性基間の相互作用により接着層17と負極14との接着性が向上すると共に、高分子鎖間の相互作用により接着層17と電解質層16との密着性も向上するため、その負極14が接着層17を介して電解質層16に対して強固に接着する。よって、負極活物質の膨張収縮の抑制とセパレータ15に対する負極14の接着性の向上とを両立させることができる。
次に、上記した二次電池の適用例について説明する。
図4は、電池パックのブロック構成を表している。この電池パックは、例えば、プラスチック材料などにより形成された筐体60の内部に、制御部61と、電源62と、スイッチ部63と、電流測定部64と、温度検出部65と、電圧検出部66と、スイッチ制御部67と、メモリ68と、温度検出素子69と、電流検出抵抗70と、正極端子71および負極端子72とを備えている。
図5は、電動車両の一例であるハイブリッド自動車のブロック構成を表している。この電動車両は、例えば、金属製の筐体73の内部に、制御部74と、エンジン75と、電源76と、駆動用のモータ77と、差動装置78と、発電機79と、トランスミッション80およびクラッチ81と、インバータ82,83と、各種センサ84とを備えている。この他、電動車両は、例えば、差動装置78およびトランスミッション80に接続された前輪用駆動軸85および前輪86と、後輪用駆動軸87および後輪88とを備えている。
図6は、電力貯蔵システムのブロック構成を表している。この電力貯蔵システムは、例えば、一般住宅および商業用ビルなどの家屋89の内部に、制御部90と、電源91と、スマートメータ92と、パワーハブ93とを備えている。
図7は、電動工具のブロック構成を表している。この電動工具は、例えば、電動ドリルであり、プラスチック材料などにより形成された工具本体98の内部に、制御部99と、電源100とを備えている。この工具本体98には、例えば、可動部であるドリル部101が稼働(回転)可能に取り付けられている。
図3に示した接着層17と負極14および電解質層16との接着性を簡易的に調べるために、以下の手順により、接着用高分子化合物と電解質用高分子化合物および結着用高分子化合物との接着性を調べた。
以下の手順により、図1〜図3に示したラミネートフィルム型のリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。

前記第2高分子化合物および前記第3高分子化合物の高分子鎖は、ハロゲン化アルキレン基を含む、
上記(1)に記載の二次電池。

前記極性基は、カルボキシル基(−COOH)、水酸基(−OH)、アミノ基(−NH2 )、ニトロ基(−NO2 )、シアノ基(−CN)およびカルボニル基(−C(=O)−)のうちの少なくとも1種を含み、
前記第2高分子化合物および前記第3高分子化合物の高分子鎖は、ジフルオロエチレン基(−CH2 −CF2 −)を含む、
上記(1)または(2)に記載の二次電池。

前記第1高分子化合物は、ポリイミド、ポリアミド、ポリアミドイミド、ポリアクリル酸およびカルボキシメチルセルロースのうちの少なくとも1種を含み、
前記第2高分子化合物は、ポリフッ化ビニリデン、およびフッ化ビニリデンをモノマー単位とする共重合体のうちの少なくとも1種を含み、
前記第3高分子化合物は、マレイン酸エステルとフッ化ビニリデンとの共重合体を含むか、または、ポリフッ化ビニリデンとポリアクリル酸との混合物を含む、
上記(1)ないし(3)のいずれかに記載の二次電池。

前記活物質は、ケイ素(Si)およびスズ(Sn)のうちの少なくとも一方を構成元素として含む、
上記(1)ないし(4)のいずれかに記載の二次電池。

リチウムイオン二次電池である、
上記(1)ないし(5)のいずれかに記載の二次電池。
(7)
上記(1)ないし(6)のいずれかに記載の二次電池と、
その二次電池の使用状態を制御する制御部と、
その制御部の指示に応じて前記二次電池の使用状態を切り換えるスイッチ部とを備えた、
電池パック。

上記(1)ないし(6)のいずれかに記載の二次電池と、
その二次電池から供給された電力を駆動力に変換する変換部と、
その駆動力に応じて駆動する駆動部と、
前記二次電池の使用状態を制御する制御部とを備えた、
電動車両。
(9)
上記(1)ないし(6)のいずれかに記載の二次電池と、
その二次電池から電力を供給される1または2以上の電気機器と、
前記二次電池からの前記電気機器に対する電力供給を制御する制御部とを備えた、
電力貯蔵システム。
(10)
上記(1)ないし(6)のいずれかに記載の二次電池と、
その二次電池から電力を供給される可動部とを備えた、
電動工具。
(11)
上記(1)ないし(6)のいずれかに記載の二次電池を電力供給源として備えた、
電子機器。
Claims (6)
- セパレータを介して対向された正極および負極と、
前記負極と前記セパレータとの間に設けられた電解質層と、
前記負極と前記電解質層との間に設けられた接着層と
を備え、
前記負極は、活物質と、第1高分子化合物とを含み、
前記電解質層は、電解液と、第2高分子化合物とを含み、
前記接着層は、第3高分子化合物を含み、
前記第1高分子化合物は、極性基を含み、
前記第2高分子化合物は、高分子鎖を含み、
前記第3高分子化合物は、極性基と、前記第2高分子化合物の高分子鎖と同じ高分子鎖とを含み、
前記第1高分子化合物の極性基および前記第3高分子化合物の極性基のそれぞれは、カルボキシル基(−COOH)、水酸基(−OH)、アミノ基(−NH 2 )、ニトロ基(−NO 2 )、シアノ基(−CN)およびカルボニル基(−C(=O)−)のうちの少なくとも1種を含み、
前記第2高分子化合物の高分子鎖および前記第3高分子化合物の高分子鎖のそれぞれは、ジフルオロエチレン基(−CH 2 −CF 2 −)を含む、
二次電池。 - 前記第1高分子化合物は、ポリイミド、ポリアミド、ポリアミドイミド、ポリアクリル酸およびカルボキシメチルセルロースのうちの少なくとも1種を含み、
前記第2高分子化合物は、ポリフッ化ビニリデン、およびフッ化ビニリデンをモノマー単位とする共重合体のうちの少なくとも1種を含み、
前記第3高分子化合物は、マレイン酸エステルとフッ化ビニリデンとの共重合体を含むか、または、ポリフッ化ビニリデンとポリアクリル酸との混合物を含む、

その二次電池の使用状態を制御する制御部と、
その制御部の指示に応じて前記二次電池の使用状態を切り換えるスイッチ部と
を備え、
前記二次電池は、
セパレータを介して対向された正極および負極と、

前記負極と前記電解質層との間に設けられた接着層と

前記負極は、活物質と、第1高分子化合物とを含み、
前記電解質層は、電解液と、第2高分子化合物とを含み、

前記第2高分子化合物は、高分子鎖を含み、
前記第3高分子化合物は、極性基と、前記第2高分子化合物の高分子鎖と同じ高分子鎖とを含み、
