Description
また、位置指示器からの信号を繰り返し測定し、位置指示器からの信号を基準にして受信側の信号処理、すなわちペン信号に同期させた信号処理を行うようにしている。
したがって、本発明の第1の課題は、指とアクティブ静電ペンを同一の電極アレイを使用して実質的に同時検知可能な場合であっても、静電ペンに対する所望の位置検出性能を確保できるようにすることにある。
また、本発明の第2の課題は、静電ペンから非同期に放出される電界に同期させることで、センサ側での信号処理(復調処理)を効率良く行えるようにすることにある。
本発明の入力システムに用いられる位置指示器は、その先端に加えられた圧力を検出する圧力センサを備えるとともに、圧力センサで検出された圧力をセンサに送信する送信手段を備えている。
更に、本発明の入力システムに用いられるコントローラは、第1の方向及び第2の方向の少なくとも一方の方向に配置された電極に誘起した信号を測定して得られた属性に基づいて、電極アレイ上の対象物を容量結合にて検知するタッチモード動作と、第1の方向及び第2の方向の各々の方向に配置された電極に誘起した信号を測定して得られた属性に基づいて電極アレイ上の位置指示器を検知する位置指示器モード動作を交互に切り替える制御を行っている。
これにより、対象物と位置指示器とを交互に検知可能と成すとともに、タッチモード動作と位置指示器モード動作を交互に切り替える制御によって切り替えられた位置指示器モード動作にて位置指示器が検知された場合には所定の時間前記位置指示器モード動作を継続させる制御を行うようにしている。
更に、コントローラは、電極アレイを構成する電極に誘起する信号の繰り返し測定が所定時間経過した場合には、新しいデータフレームに対する測定を開始する制御を行うこともできる。
そして、本発明の好ましい形態では、電極アレイを構成する電極に誘起した信号を測定して得られた属性に基づいて、対象物及び位置指示器の少なくとも一方が電極アレイ上で指示した位置を決定する位置決定手段を備える。なお、送信手段は、位置指示器のペン先部に設けられて前記センサに信号を送信することが好ましい。この場合、送信手段から送信された信号は、センサに備えられた電極アレイによって受信される。
このコントローラは、第1の方向及び前記第2の方向の少なくとも一方の方向に配置された電極に誘起した信号を測定して得られた属性に基づいて、電極アレイ上の対象物を容量結合にて検知するタッチモード動作と、第1の方向及び第2の方向の各々の方向に配置された電極に誘起した信号を測定して得られた属性に基づいて、電極アレイ上の位置指示器を検知する位置指示器モード動作を交互に切り替える制御を行うようにする。
これにより、対象物と位置指示器とを交互に検知可能と成すとともに、タッチモード動作と位置指示器モード動作を交互に切り替える制御によって切り替えられた位置指示器モード動作にて位置指示器が検知された場合には所定の時間前記位置指示器モード動作を継続させる制御を行うようにしている。
また、本発明のコントローラの好ましい形態では、電極アレイを構成する電極に誘起した信号を測定して得られた属性に基づいて、対象物及び位置指示器の少なくとも一方が電極アレイ上で指示した位置を決定する位置決定手段を備えている。
11/15 * 500 KHz = 366.67 KHz
11/13 * 500 KHz = 423.08 KHz
7/11 * 500 KHz = 318.18 KHz
PLLは、互いが近接する範囲の周波数を発生させることができるため、センサ制御装置152内のアナログ処理段414に狭帯域フィルタ(508)を使用することができる。このため、信号がデジタル化される前に信号対雑音比を増大させるという効果がある。
Claims (20)
- ペン形状を有し電界を放射する位置指示器と、第1の方向に配置された複数の電極と前記第1の方向とは異なる第2の方向に配置された複数の電極を有する電極アレイ及び前記電極アレイに結合されて前記電極アレイ上で前記位置指示器及び対象物を検知する制御を行うコントローラを備えたセンサを有する入力システムであって、
前記位置指示器は、前記位置指示器の先端に加えられた圧力を検出する圧力センサを備えるとともに、前記圧力センサで検出された圧力を前記センサに送信する送信手段を備えており、
前記コントローラは、前記第1の方向及び前記第2の方向の少なくとも一方の方向に配置された電極に誘起した信号を測定して得られた属性に基づいて前記電極アレイ上の前記対象物を容量結合にて検知するタッチモード動作と、前記第1の方向及び前記第2の方向の各々の方向に配置された電極に誘起した信号を測定して得られた属性に基づいて前記電極アレイ上の前記位置指示器を検知する位置指示器モード動作を交互に切り替える制御を行うことで前記対象物と前記位置指示器とを交互に検知可能と成すとともに、前記タッチモード動作と前記位置指示器モード動作を交互に切り替える前記制御によって切り替えられた前記位置指示器モード動作にて前記位置指示器が検知された場合には前記位置指示器モード動作を所定の時間継続させる制御を行うことを特徴とする入力システム。 - 前記位置指示器から前記送信手段を介して前記センサに送信するに際しては、フレームの開始を示すフレーム開始ブロックと前記圧力センサによって検出された圧力に対応したデジタル値を含むデータブロックを有するデータフレーム形式を備えるとともに所定の伝送方式で変調されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の入力システム。
- 前記所定の伝送方式での変調とは、ASK変調であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の入力システム。
- 前記コントローラは、前記位置指示器モード動作においては前記位置指示器から放射された電界によって前記電極アレイを構成する電極に誘起する信号を繰り返し測定して得られた属性に基づいて前記所定の伝送方式で変調された信号の復調処理を実行することで、前記センサに対して前記位置指示器から非同期的に放射される電界に同期した復調処理を行うことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の入力システム。
- 前記コントローラは、前記電極アレイを構成する電極に誘起する信号の繰り返し測定が所定時間経過した場合には、新しいデータフレームに対する測定を開始する制御を行うことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の入力システム。
- 前記データフレーム形式にはデータ形式を示すデータ形式ブロックが更に備えられており、前記送信手段を介して前記センサに送信されるデータが圧力であることを前記データ形式ブロックによって指示するようにしたことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の入力システム。
- 前記センサは近接雑音の有無を検出するフィルタを備えており、前記コントローラは前記フィルタからの出力に対応して前記位置指示器に対して選択すべき周波数チャンネルを指示するようにしたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の入力システム。
- ディスプレイを備えており、前記フィルタは前記ディスプレイからの雑音の有無を検出することを特徴とする請求項7に記載の入力システム。
- 前記対象物とは指であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の入力システム。
- 前記属性とは、振幅及び周波数の少なくとも一方であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の入力システム。
- 前記コントローラは、前記タッチモード動作においては前記第1の方向及び前記第2の方向のうちの一方の方向に配置された電極への駆動信号の供給に対応して前記第1の方向及び前記第2の方向のうちの他方の方向に配置された電極に誘起した信号を測定して得られた属性に基づいて前記電極アレイ上の前記対象物を検知するようにしたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の入力システム。
- 前記電極アレイを構成する電極に誘起した信号を測定して得られた属性に基づいて、前記対象物及び前記位置指示器の少なくとも一方が前記電極アレイ上で指示した位置を決定する位置決定手段を備えていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の入力システム。
- 前記送信手段は、前記位置指示器のペン先部に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の入力システム。
- 前記送信手段は、RF無線通信方式にて前記センサに信号を送信することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の入力システム。
- 前記センサに備えられた前記電極アレイは、前記送信手段から送信された信号を受信することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の入力システム。
- 第1の方向に配置された複数の電極と前記第1の方向とは異なる第2の方向に配置された複数の電極を有する電極アレイに結合されて前記電極アレイ上で、電界を放射する位置指示器及び対象物を検知する制御を行うコントローラであって、
前記第1の方向及び前記第2の方向の少なくとも一方の方向に配置された電極に誘起した信号を測定して得られた属性に基づいて前記電極アレイ上の前記対象物を容量結合にて検知するタッチモード動作と、前記第1の方向及び前記第2の方向の各々の方向に配置された電極に誘起した信号を測定して得られた属性に基づいて前記電極アレイ上の前記位置指示器を検知する位置指示器モード動作を交互に切り替える制御を行うことで前記対象物と前記位置指示器とを交互に検知可能と成すとともに、前記タッチモード動作と前記位置指示器モード動作を交互に切り替える前記制御によって切り替えられた前記位置指示器モード動作にて前記位置指示器が検知された場合には前記位置指示器モード動作を所定の時間継続させる制御を行うことを特徴とするコントローラ。 - 前記位置指示器から放射される前記電界は所定の伝送方式で変調されており、
前記コントローラは、前記位置指示器モード動作においては前記位置指示器から放射された電界によって前記電極アレイを構成する電極に誘起する信号を繰り返し測定して得られた属性に基づいて前記所定の伝送方式で変調された信号の復調処理を実行することで、センサに対して前記位置指示器から非同期的に放射される電界に同期した復調処理を行うことを特徴とする請求項16に記載のコントローラ。 - 前記位置指示器から放射される前記電界はフレームの開始を示すフレーム開始ブロックとデータブロックを有するデータフレーム形式を備えており、
前記コントローラは、前記電極アレイを構成する電極に誘起する信号の繰り返し測定が所定時間経過した場合には、新しいデータフレームに対する測定を開始する制御を行うことを特徴とする請求項17に記載のコントローラ。 - 前記コントローラは、前記タッチモード動作においては前記第1の方向及び前記第2の方向のうちの一方の方向に配置された電極への駆動信号の供給に対応して前記第1の方向及び前記第2の方向のうちの他方の方向に配置された電極に誘起した信号を測定して得られた属性に基づいて前記電極アレイ上の前記対象物を検知するようにしたことを特徴とする請求項16に記載のコントローラ。
- 前記電極アレイを構成する電極に誘起した信号を測定して得られた属性に基づいて、前記対象物及び前記位置指示器の少なくとも一方が前記電極アレイ上で指示した位置を決定する位置決定手段を備えていることを特徴とする請求項16に記載のコントローラ。
