前記非水電解質がトリアルコキシビニルシランを含むこと、
を特徴とするリチウム二次電池を提供する。
リチウムイオンを挿入・脱離可能な正極活物質を含む正極と、リチウムイオンを挿入・脱離可能な負極活物質を含む負極と、セパレータと、非水電解質と、を具備し、
前記非水電解質がトリアルコキシビニルシランを含み、
前記正極の充電上限電位を4.35V(vs.Li/Li+)以上とするリチウム二次電池の使用方法にも関する。
正極3を構成する正極集電体としては、本発明の技術の分野で従来公知のものを用いることができ、例えばアルミニウム箔及びアルミニウム合金箔等が挙げられる。
(1)正極の作製
正極活物質であるLiNi1/3Mn1/3Co1/3O2と、導電材であるアセチレンブラックと、結着剤であるポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVdF)と、93:3:4の質量比で混合し、これに分散媒であるN−メチル−2−ピロリドン(NMP)を混合して、ペースト状の正極合剤を調製した。
負極活物質であるグラファイトと、結着剤であるSBR及びCMCとを、グラファイト:SBR:CMC=97:2:1の質量比で混合し、これに分散媒である水を混合して、ペースト状の負極合剤を調製した。
エチレンカーボネート及びエチルメチルカーボネートを3:7の体積比で混合して混合非水溶媒を得た。この混合非水溶媒に、電解質塩であるLiPF6を1.0モル/リットルの濃度で溶解させて、溶液を得た。更に、この溶液に、添加剤として東京化成工業(株)製のトリエトキシビニルシランを0.5質量%の濃度になるように溶解させ、非水電解液を調製した。この非水電解液の水分量は50ppm未満とした。
本実施例においては、図1に示す構造を有する角型のリチウム二次電池を作製した。厚み27μmのポリエチレン製微多孔膜からなるセパレータを、上記のようにして作製した正極及び負極の間に位置するようにして積層して、積層体を捲回して両側に対向する扁平部分を形成して扁平捲回状電極群を作製した。
このリチウム二次電池を、初期活性化処理に供した。即ち、25℃の温度雰囲気下で、電流0.2CA(約5時間率)、電圧4.35V及び8時間の定電流定電圧充電を行い、ついで、電流0.2CA(約5時間率)及び終止電圧2.75Vの定電流放電を行った(ただし、1時間率(1CA)=0.8Aとした。)。なお、充電と放電の間には10分間の休止時間を設けた。これにより、正極の充電上限電位が4.35V以上の本発明のリチウム二次電池1を得た。
非水電解液に添加したトリエトキシビニルシランに代えてトリメトキシビニルシラン(東京化成工業(株)製)を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様にして、リチウム二次電池2を作製した。
トリエトキシビニルシランを非水電解液に添加しなかった以外は、実施例1と同様にして、比較リチウム二次電池1を作製した。
非水電解液に添加したトリエトキシビニルシランに代えて3−(2−アミノエチルアミノ)プロピルトリメトキシシラン(東京化成工業(株)製)を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様にして、比較リチウム二次電池2を作製した。
非水電解液に添加したトリエトキシビニルシランに代えてアミノプロピルトリメトキシシシラン(東京化成工業(株)製)を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様にして、比較リチウム二次電池3を作製した。
非水電解液に添加したトリエトキシビニルシランに代えてトリメトキシ(3,3,3−トリフルオロプロピル)シラン(東京化成工業(株)製)を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様にして、比較リチウム二次電池4を作製した。
(1)電池厚さ測定
上記のようにして得たリチウム二次電池1及び2並びに比較リチウム二次電池1〜4について、作製直後及び初期活性化処理終了後24時間経過後に、長側面の中心部を当該長側面に対して略垂直な方向から(短側面の面方向に略水平な方向に)ノギスで挟み、電池厚みを測定した。初期活性化処理終了後24時間経過後の測定値T2を「電池厚み(mm)」として表1に示した。なお、作製直後の測定値T1(5.14mm)であった。
上記のようにして得たリチウム二次電池1及び2並びに比較リチウム二次電池1〜4について、初期活性化処理終了後24時間経過後の内部抵抗R(mΩ、1kHz)を、日置電機(株)製のHIOKI3560 AC HITESTERを用いて測定した。結果を表1に示した。

Claims (3)
- リチウムイオンを挿入・脱離可能な正極活物質を含む正極と、リチウムイオンを挿入・脱離可能な負極活物質を含む負極と、セパレータと、非水電解液と、を具備し、
前記非水電解液がトリアルコキシビニルシランを含み、
前記正極活物質が、リチウム含有遷移金属酸化物であり、
前記正極の充電上限電位が4.35V(vs.Li/Li+)以上となる条件下で使用されるリチウム二次電池。 - 前記非水電解液がトリアルコキシビニルシランを10質量%以下含むこと、を特徴とする請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- リチウムイオンを挿入・脱離可能な正極活物質を含む正極と、リチウムイオンを挿入・脱離可能な負極活物質を含む負極と、セパレータと、非水電解液と、を具備し、
前記非水電解液がトリアルコキシビニルシランを含み、
