圧縮天然ガスの性状を学習する必要があるか否かを判定する判定手段と、
前記判定手段により圧縮天然ガスの性状を学習する必要があると判定された場合に、圧縮天然ガスの性状を学習するための学習処理を行う学習手段と、
内燃機関の始動後に初めて圧縮天然ガスが使用されたときから前記判定手段が圧縮天然ガスの性状を学習する必要がないと判定するまでの期間、又は内燃機関の始動後に初めて圧縮天然ガスが使用されたときから前記判定手段が圧縮天然ガスの性状を学習する必要があると判定した後であって前記学習処理が完了するまでの期間は、圧縮天然ガスから他の燃料への切り替えを禁止する禁止手段と、
を備えるようにした。

合、空燃比フィードバック補正値efafは、燃料噴射量を減量させる値(負値)になるとともに、その大きさはCNGの性状が一定であるときに該補正値が取り得る最大値より大きくなる。
決定される可変値であってもよく、又は予め実験などを利用した適合処理によって決定される固定値であってもよい。ただし、所定値bの絶対値の大きさは、前記所定値aの絶対値より小さい値に設定されるものとする。
して、不活性ガス濃度学習値eknco2の値が充填後のCNGの性状に適した値になると(図3中のt5)、空燃比フィードバック補正値efafが第一閾値以下になるとともに、空燃比(A/F)が目標A/Fに収束する。そして、空燃比(A/F)が目標A/Fに近似した値で安定すると(図3中のt6)、学習完了フラグがオン(完了)にされる。
つまり、禁止フラグがオン(ON)である間は、CNGから他の燃料への切り替え要求が発生(運転者が切り替えボタン10を操作)しても、CNGから他の燃料への切り替えが禁止される。
合は、充填CNGの性状と残留CNGの性状とが相違するため、学習処理を実行する必要がある。よって、ECU7は、S110の処理へ進み、学習処理を実行する。具体的には、ECU7は、先ず空燃比フィードバック補正値efafの正負、及び該空燃比フィードバック補正値efafの絶対値の大きさに応じて所定値aを演算する。次いで、ECU7は、不活性ガス濃度学習値eknco2に前記所定値aを加算し、その演算結果(=eknco2+a)を新たな不活性ガス濃度学習値eknco2に設定する。また、ECU7は、前記空燃比フィードバック補正値efafから前記所定値aを減算する。なお、ECU7がS110の処理を実行することにより、本発明の学習手段が実現される。
前述した実施例では、運転者の手動操作によって使用燃料が切り替えられる内燃機関に本発明を適用する例について説明したが、使用燃料が自動的に切り替えられる内燃機関に本発明を適用することも可能である。

Claims (4)
- 圧縮天然ガスを含む複数種の燃料を使用可能な内燃機関の制御システムにおいて、
圧縮天然ガスの性状を学習する必要があるか否かを判定する判定手段と、
前記判定手段により圧縮天然ガスの性状を学習する必要があると判定された場合に、圧縮天然ガスの性状を学習する処理である学習処理を行う学習手段と、
内燃機関の始動後に初めて圧縮天然ガスが使用されたときから前記判定手段が圧縮天然ガスの性状を学習する必要がないと判定するまでの期間、又は内燃機関の始動後に初めて圧縮天然ガスが使用されたときから前記判定手段が圧縮天然ガスの性状を学習する必要があると判定した後であって前記学習処理が完了するまでの期間の途中で、圧縮天然ガスから他の燃料への切り替え要求が入力された場合に、前記した2つの期間の何れか一方の期間が終了するまで燃料の切り替えを禁止する禁止手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする内燃機関の制御システム。 - 内燃機関から排出される排気の空燃比を検出する検出手段と、
前記検出手段により検出された空燃比と目標空燃比との差に基づいて燃料噴射量をフィードバック制御する制御手段と、
を更に備え、
前記判定手段は、内燃機関の始動後に初めて圧縮天然ガスが使用されたときに、前記フィードバック制御による燃料噴射量の補正量が閾値以下であれば圧縮天然ガスの性状を学習する必要がないと判定し、前記補正量が閾値より大きければ圧縮天然ガスの性状を学習する必要があると判定することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の制御システム。 - 前記判定手段は、内燃機関の始動前に圧縮天然ガスが補給されたか否かを判定する処理を更に実行し、
内燃機関の始動前に圧縮天然ガスが補給されたと判定した場合は、前記フィードバック制御による燃料噴射量の補正量に基づいて圧縮天然ガスの性状を学習する必要があるか否かを判定し、
内燃機関の始動前に圧縮天然ガスが補給されていないと判定した場合は、圧縮天然ガスの性状を学習する必要がないと判定すること特徴とする請求項2に記載の内燃機関の制御システム。 - 内燃機関が使用する燃料の切り替え要求を入力する入力装置を更に備え、
前記禁止手段は、内燃機関の始動後に初めて圧縮天然ガスが使用されたときから前記判定手段が圧縮天然ガスの性状を学習する必要がないと判定するまでの期間、又は内燃機関の始動後に初めて圧縮天然ガスが使用されたときから前記判定手段が圧縮天然ガスの性状を学習する必要があると判定した後であって前記学習処理が完了するまでの期間の途中で、前記入力装置に燃料の切り替え要求が入力された場合に、前記した2つの期間の何れか一方の期間が終了するまで燃料の切り替えを禁止することを特徴とする請求項1乃至3の何れか1項に記載の内燃機関の制御システム。
