Description

実施例は、液晶を通じて画像を表示するディスプレイパネルと、ディスプレイパネルに光を照射するバックライトユニットとを備えたディスプレイモジュール及びそれを備えたディスプレイ装置に関する。
ディスプレイモジュールは、画像がディスプレイされるディスプレイパネルを含む装置であって、モニタやテレビなどのような様々なディスプレイ装置に適用されて使用される。
ディスプレイパネルとしては液晶表示（ＬＣＤ）パネルが広く使用されているが、液晶表示パネルを使用するディスプレイパネルは自発光できないため、ディスプレイパネルの後方側にはバックライトユニットが配置され、ディスプレイパネルとバックライトユニットとの間には、バックライトユニットから照射された光を拡散させて、光がディスプレイパネルに全体的に均一に分散供給されるようにする拡散板が配置される。
また、このようなディスプレイモジュールは、ディスプレイモジュールの後面を形成するボトムシャーシの内側に配置されて、ボトムシャーシ側に反射された光を前方のディスプレイパネル側に反射する反射シートを含むことができる。
ディスプレイモジュールにおいて、ディスプレイパネルの最外郭側には、他の部位に比べて少量の光が伝達されるしかないため、暗部が発生し得る。したがって、これを防止するためには、光源がディスプレイモジュールの側部に近接して配置される必要がある。
実施例は、ディスプレイパネルの外郭側で発生し得るホットスポットの発生を減少させることができるディスプレイモジュール及びディスプレイ装置を提供する。
実施例の一側面に係るディスプレイモジュールは、ディスプレイパネルと、前記ディスプレイパネルの後方側に配置されて、前記ディスプレイパネルに光を照射するバックライトユニットと、内部に前記バックライトユニットが収容されるボトムシャーシと、前記ボトムシャーシの内部に配置され、前記バックライトユニットから照射された光を前方側に反射する反射シートとを含み、前記反射シートは、前記ボトムシャーシの後面と対応するシート後面部と、前記ディスプレイパネルの後面と対向するように傾斜して形成されたシート側面部と、前記シート側面部に設けられて、前記シート側面部によって反射される光を調節する少なくとも一つの光調節部とを含む。
また、前記光調節部は、前記ボトムシャーシの後面と平行に延びた複数のスリットを含むことができる。また、前記光調節部は、前記ボトムシャーシの後面と平行に延びた矩形のホールを含むことができる。また、前記光調節部は、前記ボトムシャーシの後面と平行に延びた楕円形のホールを含むことができる。
また、前記バックライトユニットは、複数の基板と、前記複数の基板上に互いに離隔して配置された複数の発光ダイオード（ＬＥＤ）とを含み、前記反射シートは、前記複数の発光ダイオードのうち前記シート側面部と隣接して配置されている前記発光ダイオードと対応するように互いに離隔して形成された光調節部を含む。
また、前記バックライトユニットは、前記複数の発光ダイオードにそれぞれ設置される複数のレンズを含み、前記反射シートは、前記シート後面部に設けられ、前記複数の発光ダイオード及び前記複数のレンズがそれぞれ貫通して突出する複数の貫通孔を含む。
また、実施例の一側面に係るディスプレイ装置は、画面の表示のためのディスプレイモジュールを含み、前記ディスプレイモジュールは、ディスプレイパネルと、前記ディスプレイパネルの後方側に配置されて、前記ディスプレイパネルに光を照射するバックライトユニットと、内部に前記バックライトユニットが収容されるボトムシャーシと、前記ボトムシャーシの内部に配置され、前記バックライトユニットから照射された光を前方側に反射する反射シートとを含み、前記反射シートは、前記ボトムシャーシの後面と対応するシート後面部と、前記ディスプレイパネルの後面と対向するように傾斜して形成されたシート側面部と、前記シート側面部に設けられて、前記シート側面部によって反射される光を調節する少なくとも一つの光調節部とを含む。
上述したように、反射シートの側面部には光調節部が設けられて、反射シートのシート側面部によって反射される光が、光調節部によって光量が減少したり、または分散するので、ディスプレイパネルの外郭側で発生し得るホットスポットの発生は減少する。

以下では、実施例に係るディスプレイ装置について、図面を参照して詳細に説明する。
ディスプレイ装置は、図１に示すように、画像が表示されるディスプレイモジュール１０と、前後方向に互いに結合され、これらの間にディスプレイモジュール１０が設置されるフロントケース２０Ｆ及びリアケース２０Ｒとを含む。制御基板３０は、ディスプレイモジュール１０とリアケース２０Ｒとの間に配置され、ディスプレイモジュール１０に電源及び信号を伝達する。
ディスプレイモジュール１０は、図２及び図３に示すように、液晶表示パネルからなり、画面が表示されるディスプレイパネル１１と、ディスプレイパネル１１の後方側に離隔して配置されて、ディスプレイパネル１１に光を供給するバックライトユニット１２と、ディスプレイパネル１１の後方側に配置されて、バックライトユニット１２から照射された光が拡散されてディスプレイパネル１１に伝達されるようにする拡散板１３と、拡散板１３の前面に配置される各種光学シート１４Ａ，１４Ｂとを含む。
ディスプレイモジュール１０は、ディスプレイパネル１１及び拡散板１３を支持するミドルモールド１５と、ミドルモールド１５の前方側に設置され、ディスプレイパネル１１がミドルモールド１５に設置されている状態を維持するようにするトップシャーシ１６と、ミドルモールド１５の後方側に設置され、バックライトユニット１２が設置されるボトムシャーシ１７とを含む。
バックライトユニット１２は、導電性パターンが形成され、ボトムシャーシ１７に配置された印刷回路基板１２ａと、拡散板１３と対向するように印刷回路基板１２ａの前面に設置された発光ダイオード１２ｂと、発光ダイオード１２ｂに設置されて、発光ダイオード１２ｂで発生した光を拡散させる円形のレンズ１２ｃとを含む。
一実施例において、印刷回路基板１２ａは、ディスプレイパネル１１の長さに対応するように一方向に長く延び、複数個の印刷回路基板１２ａが互いに平行に離隔して配置される。各印刷回路基板１２ａには、複数の発光ダイオード１２ｂ及び各発光ダイオード１２ｂに設置された複数のレンズ１２ｃが、その長手方向に互いに離隔して配置され、複数の印刷回路基板１２ａは、連結基板１２ｄによって互いに連結される。
光学シート１４Ａは、拡散板１３によって拡散された光がディスプレイパネル１１に垂直な方向に集光されるようにするプリズムフィルムを含むことができる。光学シート１４Ｂは、プリズムフィルムを保護するための保護フィルムを含むことができる。
ミドルモールド１５は、前方側にディスプレイパネル１１が配置され、後方側に拡散板１３が配置されて、ディスプレイパネル１１及び拡散板１３などを支持することができる。前記光学シート１４Ａ，１４Ｂは、前記拡散板１３と前記後方側との間にさらに配置されてもよい。
トップシャーシ１６は、ディスプレイパネル１１の前面外郭を覆うベゼル部１６ａと、ベゼル部１６ａの外郭から後方側に折れ曲がったトップ側面部１６ｂとを備える。
ボトムシャーシ１７は、略矩形形状に形成され、バックライトユニット１２が載置されるボトム前面部１７ａと、ボトム前面部１７ａの外郭からディスプレイパネル側に延びたボトム側面部１７ｂとを含み、ボトム前面部１７ａには、凹状に形成されて、バックライトユニット１２の印刷回路基板１２ａが載置される載置溝１７ｃが設けられる。
ディスプレイモジュール１０は、ボトムシャーシ１７の内面に配置されて、ボトムシャーシ１７の内面に向かって照射された光がディスプレイパネル１１側に反射されるようにする反射シート１８を含む。
反射シート１８は、ボトムシャーシ１７の前面を形成するボトム前面部１７ａに配置されるシート後面部１８ａと、シート後面部１８ａの外周縁１８ｆからディスプレイパネル側に向かって延びるシート側面部１８ｂとを含む。
シート後面部１８ａには複数の発光ダイオード１２ｂ及び複数のレンズ１２ｃとそれぞれ対応する位置にホール１８ｃがそれぞれ設けられて、発光ダイオード１２ｂ及び複数のレンズ１２ｃがホール１８ｃを通じて反射シート１８の内側に突出している。発光ダイオード１２ｂで発生した光Ｌ１は前方Ｆに向かってディスプレイパネル１１側に伝達され、拡散板１３などによって後方Ｒに反射された一部の光は反射シート１８によって前方側に反射される。
シート側面部１８ｂは、シート後面部１８ａの外郭、すなわち、シート後面部１８ａの上下左右側の端部からディスプレイパネル１１側に向かって延び、ディスプレイパネル１１の後面と対向するように、シート後面部１８ａの平面に対して傾斜角βで傾斜して形成される。それによって、発光ダイオード１２ｂから放出されて、シート側面部１８ｂに入射された光Ｌ２をディスプレイパネル１１側に反射できるようになる。一実施例において、ディスプレイパネル１１の後方側には拡散板１３が配置されているので、シート側面部１８ｂは、拡散板１３の後面と対向するように傾斜して形成される。
このようなディスプレイモジュール１０において、ディスプレイパネル１１の最外郭側には、他の部位に比べて少量の光が伝達されるしかないため、他の部位に比べて暗い暗部が発生し得る。したがって、これを防止するためには、発光ダイオード１２ｂがシート側面部１８ｂの近くに配置されることが好ましい。
しかし、このように、発光ダイオード１２ｂをシート側面部１８ｂに隣接して設置する場合、発光ダイオード１２ｂと隣接したディスプレイパネル１１の部位には、発光ダイオード１２ｂから直接照射された光Ｌ１と、シート側面部１８ｂによって反射された光Ｌ２とが同時に到達して、発光ダイオード１２ｂと隣接したディスプレイパネル１１の先端側には、他の部位に比べて明るいホットスポットが発生し得る。
したがって、これを防止するために、シート側面部１８ｂには、図４に示すように、シート側面部１８ｂによって反射される光を部分的に調節するための一つまたは複数の光調節部１８ｄを設けることができる。
一実施例において、このような光調節部１８ｄは、シート側面部１８ｂと隣接して配置されている発光ダイオード１２ｂとそれぞれ対応する。また、一実施例において、光調節部１８ｄは、ボトムシャーシ１７のボトム前面部１７ａと平行に延びた複数のスリット１８ｅを含む。例えば、複数のスリット１８ｅは、シート後面部１８ａとシート側面部１８ｂとの間に配置された外周縁１８ｆと平行に延びることができる。
複数のスリット１８ｅからなる光調節部１８ｄは、シート側面部１８ｂを細長くカッティングして形成される。したがって、光調節部１８ｄに向かって入射された光の一部は、スリット１８ｅを通じてシート側面部１８ｂとボトム側面部１７ｂとの間の空間１９に漏れることができる。
また、上記のように、シート側面部１８ｂをカッティングして光調節部１８ｄを形成する過程で、スリットの隣接部は凸状または凹状に変形するようになり、このような形状によって、光調節部１８ｄに入射された光の一部はスリットの長手方向に分散される。
したがって、光調節部１８ｄに向かって入射された光の一部は、スリットを通過して漏洩し、スリットの隣接部によってスリットの長手方向に分散されて、特定の部位に光が集中する場合に発生するホットスポット現象を減少させることができる。
一実施例において、光調節部１８ｄは、互いに平行に延びた複数のスリットによって形成されるが、これに限定されるものではない。図５に示すように、光調節部１８ｄ−１がボトム前面部１７ａと平行に延びた矩形のホールとして形成されてもよい。例えば、矩形のホールの長手方向は、外周縁１８ｆと平行に延びることができる。
他の例として、図６に示すように、光調節部１８ｄ−２がボトム前面部１７ａと平行に延びた楕円形のホールとして形成されてもよい。例えば、楕円形のホールの長手方向は、外周縁１８ｆと平行に延びることができる。
上記のように、光調節部１８ｄ−１，１８ｄ−２が矩形または楕円形のホールとして形成される場合、発光ダイオード１２ｂから照射されて、シート側面部１８ｂに入射された光の一部が、矩形のホールまたは楕円形のホールを通じて、シート側面部１８ｂとボトム側面部１７ｂとの間の空間１９に漏れることができる。したがって、シート側面部１８ｂによってディスプレイパネル１１の外郭側に向かって反射される光が減少して、ホットスポットの発生が減少する。
また、図７に示すように、光調節部１８ｄ−３が、シート側面部１８ｂに光拡散性材質を塗布またはコーティングして形成される光拡散性層によって形成されるようにすることも可能である。
本発明は、上記で記載した実施例に限定されるものではなく、本発明の思想から逸脱しない範囲で様々な修正及び変形が可能であるということは、当該技術の分野における通常の知識を有する者にとって自明である。したがって、修正例または変形例は本発明の特許請求の範囲に属するものと解さねばならない。

Claims (7)

  1. ディスプレイパネルと、
    前記ディスプレイパネルの後方側に配置されて、前記ディスプレイパネルに光を照射するバックライトユニットと、
    内部に前記バックライトユニットが収容されるボトムシャーシと、
    前記ボトムシャーシの内部に配置され、前記バックライトユニットから照射された光をディスプレイパネル側に反射する反射シートとを含み、
    前記反射シートは、前記ボトムシャーシの後面と対応するシート後面部と、前記ディスプレイパネルの後面と対向するように傾斜して形成されたシート側面部と、前記シート側面部に設けられて、前記シート側面部によって反射される光を調節する光調節部とを含み、
    前記光調節部は、前記ボトムシャーシの後面と平行に延びた複数の開口を含む、
    ディスプレイモジュール。
  2. 前記ボトムシャーシの後面と平行に延びた開口は、複数のスリットである、請求項１に記載のディスプレイモジュール。
  3. 前記ボトムシャーシの後面と平行に延びた開口は、矩形のホールである、請求項１に記載のディスプレイモジュール。
  4. 前記ボトムシャーシの後面と平行に延びた開口は、楕円形のホールである、請求項１に記載のディスプレイモジュール。
  5. 前記バックライトユニットは、複数の基板と、前記複数の基板上に互いに離隔して配置された複数の発光ダイオードとを含み、
    前記反射シートは、前記複数の発光ダイオードのうち前記シート側面部と隣接して配置されている前記発光ダイオードと対応するように互いに離隔して形成された複数の光調節部を含む、
    請求項１に記載のディスプレイモジュール。
  6. 前記バックライトユニットは、前記複数の発光ダイオードにそれぞれ設置される複数のレンズを含み、
    前記反射シートは、前記シート後面部に設けられ、前記複数の発光ダイオード及び前記複数のレンズがそれぞれ貫通して突出する複数のホールを含む、
    請求項５に記載のディスプレイモジュール。
  7. 請求項１乃至６のうちのいずれか１項に記載のディスプレイモジュールを含む、ディスプレイ装置。
