Description
(a)約5重量%〜約40重量%のエチレン酢酸ビニル共重合体と、
(b)約30重量%〜約70重量%の粘着付与樹脂と、
(c)約2重量%〜約30重量%の水素化スチレン系ブロック共重合体と、
(d)約2重量%〜約40重量%の液体可塑剤とを含むホットメルト接着剤組成物を提供する。
(1)ASTM方法D−1321に決定されるときに、約0.1〜120硬度値、および、約66℃〜120℃のASTM軟化点を有する低分子量、すなわち、100〜6000g/molポリエチレン、
(2)約130〜170°Fの軟化点を有するパラフィンワックスなどの石油系ワックスおよび約135〜200°Fの軟化点を有する微晶ワックス、後者の軟化点は、ASTM方法D127−60によって決定される。
(3)「Licocene」という名前でClariantにより商業化されたもののようなメタセロン触媒プロピレン系ワックス。
(4)例えば、U.S.Patents 4,914,253、6,319,979、または、WO 97/33921、または、WO 98/03603で説明されているもののようなメタセロン触媒ワックスまたはシングルサイト触媒ワックス。
(5)フィッシャートロプシュワックスなどの一酸化炭素および水素を重合させることによって作製される合成ワックス、
及び、
(6)ポリオレフィンワックス。本明細書で使用するとき、「ポリオレフィンワックス」という用語は、オレフィンモノマー単位で構成された高分子または長鎖構成要素を指す。これらの材料は、商品名「Epolene」でEastman Chemical Co.から市販されている。本発明の組成物中での使用に好適な材料は、200°F(93℃)〜350°F(177℃)の環球式軟化点を有する。

システム性能評価
表1に示す混合物の全ては、熱老化中に相分離なく優れた適合性を示した。また、溶融されたときに明確であり、これは、良好な適合性を示す。
表2において、2つの従来技術製品を物理特性とともに示す。H9564は、おしめ構造製品として使用されるオレフィン系ホットメルトである。H20080は、また、使い捨ておしめ構造製品であるが、非水素化スチレン系ブロック共重合体を基本とするものではない。これらの製品のどちらも、EVAを含有していない。共に、Bostik, Incから市販されている。
接着剤剥離性能を判定するために、第1の品質の不織布製の15グラム/平方メートル(15g/m2つまり15GSM)スパンボンド不織布トップシートのサンプル積層体をNordson Signature(商標)スプレーヘッドおよび2インチ幅の接着剤接着性パターンを使用して通気性ポリエチレンに接着した。一定の75°Fおよび50%の相対湿度にて維持される空調を施した部屋で12インチ/分の速度にてInstron引張り試験機によって引き離される前に積層体を24時間自然放置させた。剥離力をグラム単位で測定して、試験開始及び停止からの変動性を低減するために試長の最初及び最後の5パーセントを排除した後に平均剥離強度を判定することによって剥離値を計算した。この試験を2つの異なる付加レベル、2.0グラム/平方メートルおよび4.2グラム/平方メートルで行った。接着剤を149℃(300°F)の温度にて塗布し、風乾時間は、0.12秒であった。従来技術による接着剤ならびに実施例1および3〜5の各々の剥離力を表3に示す。剥離力値は、グラム/インチ幅で示す。
接着剤サンプルのいくつかを耐ブロッキング性について評価した。この試験において、積層体の不織布の層が第2の不織布と直に接触するように、4.2GSMの付加レベルにて準備されるような積層体のサンプルを不織布の別の層に当接させる。これは、おしめがパッケージ内にあるときに起こることと似ている。1平方センチメートルにつき200グラムに等しい重しを構造体に載置して48時間60℃(140°F)にて培養庫に入れる。その後、サンプルを培養庫から取り出して室温に自然冷却させる。2枚の不織布層を分離するために必要とされる平均剥離力を12インチ/分のクロスヘッド速度でInstron引張り試験機を使用して判定する。
典型的なスチレンブロック共重合体系構造製品H20080は、この試験において112グラム/インチ幅のパターンのブロッキング試験値を示した。これは、容認できないほど高い値であり、この値であれば、おしめを開くとたぶん基材の引裂が発生するであろう。この試験については、できるだけ低い剥離力を有することが望ましい。典型的には、50グラム/インチ幅未満のサンプルの力が望まれる。更に好ましくは、25グラム/インチ未満である。H9564は、オレフィン系おしめ構造接着剤であり、境界値である26グラム/インチという値を示した。
ブロッキング力は、不織布の秤量に非常に左右される。秤量が低いほどブロッキング値は高くなるが、布は、接着剤が露出される空き空間が多くなるからである。
第2のより厳しいブロッキング試験を2つの異なる秤量の不織布を使用して行った。不織布の基材は、18GSMおよび10GSMの秤量を有するスパンボンド不織布であった。まず、ポリエチレン/不織布積層体を先述したように準備したが、接着剤付加速度を構造体用途には高いと考えられる7グラム/平方メートルに増大させた。多くのおしめ用途については、10GSM不織布は、かなり低いと考えられるので、7GSM接着剤付加と10のGSM不織布の組み合わせは、非常に難しい組み合わせである。
表1の実施例1および2をこの試験において評価した。実施例1では、18GSM不織布で8グラム/インチ、10GSM不織布で20グラム/インチのブロッキング値が出た。実施例2では、18GSM不織布および10GSM不織布について、それぞれ、8グラム/インチ、15グラム/インチの値が出た。
Claims (17)
- ホットメルト接着剤組成物であって、
以下の成分、すなわち、
約10重量%〜約40重量%のエチレン酢酸ビニル共重合体と、
約30重量%〜約70重量%の粘着付与樹脂と、
約2重量%〜約30重量%の水素化スチレン系ブロック共重合体と、
約2重量%〜約40重量%の液体可塑剤と、
約0重量%〜約5重量%の安定剤との配合
を含み、
前記成分は、合計で100重量%の前記組成物となり、前記組成物の粘度は、325°Fにて約20,000センチポアズ以下であり、
前記水素化スチレン系ブロック共重合体は、約20重量%〜約35重量%のスチレン含有量を有し、ジブロック含有量を実質的に有していない、
組成物。 - 前記組成物は、25℃にて、約1×106dyne/cm2を上回る貯蔵弾性率を有する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記エチレン酢酸ビニル共重合体は、約5g/10分を上回るメルトインデックスを有する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 約10重量%〜約30重量の前記可塑剤を含む、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記組成物は、325°Fにて、15,000センチポアズ以下の粘度を有するか、または325°Fにて、10,000センチポアズ以下の粘度を有する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記水素化スチレン系ブロック共重合体は、約25重量%〜約35重量%のスチレン含有量を有する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 約7重量%〜約20重量%の水素化スチレン系ブロック共重合体を含む、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記粘着付与樹脂は、約90℃以上の軟化点を有するか、または約95℃〜約140℃の軟化点を有するか、または約95℃〜約130℃の軟化点を有する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 約40重量%〜約65重量%の前記粘着付与樹脂を有するか、または約45重量%〜約60重量%の前記粘着付与樹脂を有する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記エチレン酢酸ビニル共重合体の前記酢酸ビニル含有量は、約8重量%〜約28重量%であるか、または約8重量%〜約18重量%である、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記液体可塑剤は、鉱油および液体ポリブチレンから成る群から選択される、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 約石油系ワックス、微晶ワックス、低分子量ポリエチレン、低分子量ポリプロピレン、合成ワックスおよびポリオレフィンワックスから成る群から選択された最大10重量%までワックスを更に含む、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 請求項1に記載の接着剤組成物でともに接合された不織材の第1の層と、不織材の第2の層とを備える積層体。
- 請求項1に記載の接着剤組成物でともに接合された不織材の第1の層と、フィルム材料の第2の層とを備える積層体。
- 前記フィルムは、ポリエチレンフィルム、ポリプロピレンフィルム、エチレン―プロピレン共重合体フィルム、または、布のような被覆フィルム材料を含む、請求項14に記載の積層体。
- 請求項1に記載の接着剤組成物を含む物品。
- 使い捨ておしめ、生理用ナプキン、ベットパッド、救急絆、外科的ドレープ、テープ、ラベル、プラスチックシート、不織布シート、紙シート、厚紙、本、フィルタ、または、パッケージを備える、請求項16に記載の物品。
