Description
本出願は、本明細書において参照によりその全体において組み込まれている2014年1月17日に出願された米国仮特許出願第61/928,550号の便益を主張する。
コンピュータソフトウェア(SPSS 12.0 for Windows、Lead Technologies Inc. 2003. Chicago、Il.)を用いて、統計的分析を実施した。すべての値を、平均値±標準偏差(±SD)として提示した。異なる時点の間での体重および血漿グレリン値の比較を、対応t検定で行った。0.05未満のp値を、統計的有意性を決定するために考慮した。
処置の合併症はなかった。5人の被験者のうち3人が、処置の後に軽度の一過性の上腹部痛を述べた。しかしながら、塞栓の次の日と一週間の経過観察とにおける経過観察の胃カメラ検査は、何の異常も明らかにしなかった。すべての被験者は、処置の後の初日に、大幅な食欲の低減を報告した。

Claims (10)
- 塞栓粒子を患者の目標動脈へ送達するための、遠位端と近位端とを有するカテーテルであって、
粒子が、前記カテーテルの前記近位端と前記カテーテルの前記遠位端との間で流れるための流体密封経路を提供する第1のルーメンと、
前記カテーテルの前記遠位端の近くに位置付けられ、膨張されるとき、血液が前記目標動脈を通って流れるのを防止するように構成されるバルーンと、
前記バルーンを膨張するために使用され、前記バルーンの内部と流体連通している遠位端を有する膨張ルーメンと、
前記バルーンの近位に位置付けられる入口ポートと、前記バルーンの遠位に位置付けられる出口ポートとを有し、血液が前記入口ポートから前記出口ポートへ流れるための流体密封経路を提供するように構成される第2のルーメンと、
前記粒子が前記第2のルーメンを通って流れるのを防止するストレーナーと、
を備え、
前記カテーテルの前記遠位端が前記目標動脈に位置決めされるとき、前記患者の体における動脈からの血液が、前記入口ポートを介して前記第2のルーメンに入り、前記第2のルーメンを通って流れ、前記出口ポートを介して前記第2のルーメンから出て行き、前記出口ポートから前記目標動脈へ流れることができるような位置に前記入口ポートが配置される、カテーテル。 - 前記ストレーナーが前記第2のルーメンの前記入口ポートに配置される、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記ストレーナーが前記第2のルーメンの前記出口ポートに配置される、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記ストレーナーが、すべての種類の血液成分を通過させるのに十分な粗さである、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記ストレーナーが、150ミクロンから250ミクロンの間のメッシュ間隔を有するメッシュを備える、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記目標動脈が左胃動脈であり、前記カテーテルの前記遠位端および前記バルーンが、左胃動脈への挿入用に構成される、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 塞栓粒子を患者の目標動脈へ送達するための、遠位端と近位端と側壁とを有するカテーテルであって、
粒子が、前記カテーテルの前記近位端と前記カテーテルの前記遠位端との間で流れるための経路を提供する第1のルーメンと、
前記カテーテルの前記遠位端の近くに位置付けられ、膨張されるとき、血液が前記目標動脈を通って流れるのを防止するように構成されるバルーンと、
前記バルーンを膨張するために使用され、前記バルーンの内部と流体連通している遠位端を有する膨張ルーメンと、
前記カテーテルの前記側壁を貫く前記第1のルーメンへの開口であって、前記バルーンの近位に位置付けられる開口と、
前記開口に配置され、前記粒子が前記開口を介して前記第1のルーメンから出て行くのを防止するように構成されるストレーナーと、
を備え、
前記カテーテルの前記遠位端が前記目標動脈に位置決めされるとき、前記患者の体における動脈からの血液が、前記開口へ流れ、前記第1のルーメンを通って前記目標動脈へ流れることができるような位置に前記開口が配置される、カテーテル。 - 前記ストレーナーが、すべての種類の血液成分を通過させるのに十分な粗さである、請求項7に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記ストレーナーが、150ミクロンから250ミクロンの間のメッシュ間隔を有するメッシュを備える、請求項7に記載のカテーテル。
