該紙幣収納部に紙幣を搬送する紙幣搬送通路とを具える紙幣処理装置において、
前記紙幣収納部は、
前記紙幣搬送通路が垂直に設けられる位置に配設されるとともに、
前記紙幣搬送通路にある紙幣を該紙幣の平面に略垂直な方向に整列積載収納してかつ収納された紙幣を紙幣搬送通路側に常時押圧する紙幣収納庫と、
前記紙幣搬送通路を挟んで前記紙幣収納庫と対向配置されて前記紙幣搬送通路から前記紙幣収納庫内に紙幣を移動させる紙幣収納機構とを具え、
前記紙幣収納機構は、
前記紙幣収納庫に収納された紙幣の長手方向側縁と前記紙幣搬送通路を通過する紙幣の長手方向側縁とを隔てるスタックガイドと、
該スタックガイドとカム構造を成して該スタックガイドを紙幣の平面に略垂直な方向に往復移動させる上下に並設された2つのリフトカムと、
前記2つのリフトカムの間に介在し、前記2つのリフトカムを作動させる第一の連結ギヤと、を有し、
前記2つのリフトカムは、それぞれ、前記紙幣収納部に回転自在に支承され、左右水平方向に回転軸を有して回転するように設けられるとともに、それらの外側面の回転中心から外れた位置に形成された突起を有し、
前記スタックガイドは、前記2つのリフトカムのうちの上に配設されたリフトカムに形成された前記突起の上死点と、前記2つのリフトカムのうちの下に配設されたリフトカムに形成された前記突起の下死点と、の間と略同じ高さに形成された長孔を有し、
