Description
最初の開始(対照)亜麻は、Crailar Technologies, Inc.より市販の“完成亜麻”であった。この繊維を、機械的処理、ペクチンを除去するための化学的処理、過酸化水素漂白、および乾燥を含む、Crailar法で処理した。次の表1(ID 1)から分かるように、この亜麻繊維は、57.8のマクベスUV−C白色度を示した。図12に、シャイブ含量の多い亜麻繊維の顕微鏡写真を示す。
表2に示す、実施例10〜17では、白色度に対する酸素とTAEDの影響と、還元漂白の効果を調べるため、Quantumミキサ内で漂白を行った。全ての実験を、ペクチン除去した未漂白亜麻試料(実施例10)で行った。この対照試料の白色度は低く(27.9)、シャイブの汚れの程度は高かった(後の、実施例24の図12も参照のこと)。
実施例18〜24(表4参照)では、酸素を使用しない、1段階および2段階の過酸化物漂白工程を、ペクチン除去した未漂白の亜麻(実施例24)に行った。図12は、実施例24(白色度57.8)の繊維の顕微鏡写真を示しており、これにはシャイブの汚れが多く見られる。
先に酸素処理を行っていない繊維に対する還元剤の影響を調べるため、中性および酸性のpHにおいて、未漂白(実施例10)および漂白(実施例1)亜麻試料で一連の実験を行った。表5に、実施例25〜28の白色度増加および光学データを示す。
Claims (16)
- 非木材繊維の白色度を高める方法であって、
前記方法は、
非木材繊維の組成物を作る工程と、
前記組成物を増白剤に曝露して増白した繊維を製造する工程と、
を含み、
前記増白剤は、過酸化物化合物と、酸素ガスとを含み、前記酸素ガスは、溶液中に溶解されており、
前記増白繊維が、マクベス(MacBeth)UV−C基準による測定で、曝露前の繊維組成物よりも高い白色度を持つことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記非木材繊維が、亜麻繊維、麻繊維、ジュート繊維、ラミー繊維、イラクサ繊維、レダマ繊維、ケナフ植物繊維、綿繊維、またはこれらのいずれかの組合せであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記増白剤が、アルカリ性化合物および過酢酸のうちの少なくとも一つを更に含むことを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記増白剤が、9.5から10.5の範囲の初期pHを持つことを特徴とする、請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記増白繊維を、少なくとも1つの第2の増白剤に曝露する工程を更に含むことを特徴とする、請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の増白剤が、過酸化物化合物、アルカリ性化合物、還元剤、またはこれらのいずれかの組合せであることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記組成物を、5から60分間の範囲の時間、前記増白剤に曝露することを特徴とする、請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- テトラアセチルエチレンジアミンを前記増白剤または前記組成物に加える工程を更に含むことを特徴とする、請求項1から7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 硫酸マグネシウムを前記増白剤または前記組成物に加える工程を更に含むことを特徴とする、請求項1から8のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記増白繊維を含む不織布を形成する工程を更に含むことを特徴とする、請求項1から9のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記増白工程の後、気体をチャンバに導入して、残留する増白剤を排出する工程を更に含むことを特徴とする、請求項1から10のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記増白繊維を含むティッシュまたは紙を形成する工程を更に含むことを特徴とする、請求項1から11のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記増白繊維が、曝露前の非木材繊維組成物よりも、視認できるシャイブの含量が少ないことを特徴とする、請求項1から12のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記酸素ガスを、1から10Barの範囲の圧力下で溶解させることを特徴とする、請求項1から13のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 請求項1から14のいずれか1項に記載の方法で得られた増白繊維を含む不織布の製造方法であって、前記増白繊維が、マクベスUV−C基準による測定で65よりも大きい白色度を持つことを特徴とする不織布の製造方法。
- 請求項1から14のいずれか1項に記載の方法で得られた増白繊維を含むティッシュまたは紙の製造方法であって、前記増白繊維が、マクベスUV−C基準による測定で65よりも大きい白色度を持つことを特徴とするティッシュまたは紙の製造方法。
