Claims (10)
- 複数の基本タイミング制御信号を生成して供給するタイミングコントローラーと、
前記タイミングコントローラーから受けた複数の基本タイミング制御信号を用いて複数のゲート制御信号を生成して供給するレベルシフターと、
前記レベルシフターから受けた複数のゲート制御信号を用いてパネルのゲートラインを個別に駆動するゲートドライバーと
を含み、
前記レベルシフターは、
前記複数のゲート制御信号を出力する出力部と接続され、前記レベルシフターの自体と前記レベルシフターと直間接的に接続された回路構成での過電流の発生を、前記出力部を介してセンシングして過電流保護信号を出力する過電流保護回路部と、
前記複数の基本タイミング制御信号を用いて前記出力部が前記複数のゲート制御信号を発生して出力するように制御する制御部と、
前記複数の基本タイミング制御信号の少なくとも一つと前記複数のゲート制御信号の少なくとも一つを用いて前記非センシング期間を設定する非センシング期間設定部と
を含み、
前記レベルシフターは、前記複数のゲート制御信号のそれぞれの出力によって正常ピーク電流が発生する期間を非センシング期間に設定し、前記非センシング期間の間に前記過電流保護回路部のセンシング動作をオフさせ、前記非センシング期間を除いた残りの期間の間に前記過電流保護回路部のセンシング動作をオンさせ、
前記過電流保護回路部は、前記センシング動作がオンされて設定されたセンシング期間の間に前記過電流の発生をセンシングし、
前記出力部は、前記制御部の制御によって前記複数のゲート制御信号をそれぞれ出力する複数の出力チャネルを備え、
前記過電流保護回路部は、前記複数の出力チャネルと個別に接続され、該当出力チャネルを介して前記過電流の発生をセンシングする複数チャネルの過電流保護回路を備える、
ディスプレイ装置。 - 前記制御部は、
前記複数のチャネルの過電流保護回路のいずれか一つの過電流保護回路から前記過電流保護信号が出力され、設定期間の間に前記過電流保護信号の出力が持続すれば、前記出力部及び過電流センシング回路部を全てオフさせ、
前記タイミングコントローラーからゲートスタートパルスが入力されれば、前記出力部及び過電流センシング回路部を正常動作するように制御する、請求項1に記載のディスプレイ装置。 - 前記レベルシフターは、
前記過電流保護回路部の複数チャネルのいずれか一つのチャネルから前記過電流保護信号を出力する出力回数が設定値以上であれば、シャットダウン信号を電源部に出力して前記電源部の電源供給を遮断させるようにするカウンターをさらに含む、請求項2に記載のディスプレイ装置。 - 前記各出力チャネルは、
前記制御部の制御によって、ゲートハイ電圧を出力端子に出力する第1出力トランジスタとゲートロー電圧を前記出力端子に出力する第2出力トランジスタとを備え、
前記各チャネルの過電流保護回路は、
前記第1出力トランジスタと並列で接続された第1センシングトランジスタと、
前記第2出力トランジスタと並列で接続された第2センシングトランジスタと、
前記第1センシングトランジスタと第1電流源の間に接続された第1基準ノードで発生する第1基準電圧と前記第1出力トランジスタの第1出力ノード電圧を比較し、その比較結果によって第1過電流保護信号を出力する第1比較器と、
前記第2センシングトランジスタと第2電流源の間に接続された第2基準ノードで発生する第2基準電圧と前記第2出力トランジスタの第2出力ノード電圧を比較し、その比較結果によって第2過電流保護信号を出力する第2比較器とを含む、請求項2に記載のディスプレイ装置。 - 前記制御部は、
前記非センシング期間の間、前記第1及び第2センシングトランジスタをターンオフさせ、前記第1及び第2出力トランジスタはそれぞれ該当制御信号によってターンオン又はターンオフさせ、
前記非センシング期間を除いた前記残りの期間の間、前記第1出力トランジスタ及び第1センシングトランジスタを同時に制御し、前記第2出力トランジスタ及び第2センシングトランジスタを同時に制御する、請求項4に記載のディスプレイ装置。 - 前記過電流保護回路部は、
前記第1基準ノードと並列で接続され、前記第1比較器のセンシング期間を設定する第1キャパシタと、
前記第2基準ノードと並列で接続され、前記第1比較器のセンシング期間を設定する第2キャパシタと、
電圧−電流コンバーターの出力電流を抵抗によって調節して第1及び第2センシング電流をそれぞれセンシングし、前記第1センシング電流によって前記第1電流源の電流を可変させ、前記第2センシング電流によって前記第2電流源の電流を可変させるセンシング電流設定部とをさらに備える、請求項4に記載のディスプレイ装置。 - 前記非センシング期間設定部は、
前記タイミングコントローラーから受けたゲートスタートパルスと、オンクロック及びオフクロックと、前記出力部から受けた複数のクロックのそれぞれを用いて前記非センシング期間を設定する、請求項1に記載のディスプレイ装置。 - 前記非センシング期間設定部は、
前記複数のクロックのいずれか一つの立ち上がりエッジから前記オンクロックの立ち下がりエッジ及び前記オフクロックの立ち上がりエッジのうち先に発生するエッジまでの時間を前記非センシング期間に設定するとか、
前記複数のクロックのいずれか一つの立ち下がりエッジから前記オンクロックの立ち上がりエッジ及び前記オフクロックの立ち上がりエッジのうち先に発生するエッジまでの時間を前記非センシング期間に設定する、請求項7に記載のディスプレイ装置。 - 前記制御部は、
電源がオンされて前記ゲートスタートパルスが入力される前までは前記非センシング期間なしに前記過電流保護回路部のセンシング動作をオンさせ、
前記過電流保護回路部の前記複数チャネルのいずれかから前記過電流保護信号が発生し、前記複数のチャネルのいずれか一つから前記過電流保護信号が再び発生すれば、シャットダウン信号を電源部に出力する、請求項8に記載のディスプレイ装置。 - 前記レベルシフターは、
前記レベルシフターと接続されて前記パネルに内蔵されたゲートドライバーと、前記レベルシフターと接続されたプリント基板の少なくとも一つでの前記過電流の発生をセンシングする、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載のディスプレイ装置。
