第1頭部と、前記第1頭部と一体をなして軸方向に延びる軸部とからなる中間具を用い、
前記軸部を前記各ワークの前記各挿通孔に挿通させつつ非接触の状態で前記軸部のみを加熱するとともに加圧することにより、前記中間具に前記軸部と一体をなして前記第1頭部と対面する第2頭部を形成し、前記中間具を前記締結具とする締結器具と、
前記締結具の良否を判定する判定器具とを備え、
前記中間具は繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂製であり、
前記締結器具は、加熱された前記軸部から前記第2頭部を形成可能な締結金型と、
前記締結金型を加圧可能な軸部加圧器具とを有し、
前記判定器具は、加圧中における時間と荷重とによって規定される荷重曲線を算出し、基準荷重を超えた後の前記荷重曲線の単位時間当たりの変化量が予め設定された第1基準値の範囲内であるか否かを判断することを特徴とする。

前記軸体は繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂製であり、
前記締結器具は、加熱された前記軸体から前記締結具を形成可能な締結金型と、
前記締結金型を加圧可能な軸体加圧器具とを有し、
前記判定器具は、加圧中における時間と荷重とによって規定される荷重曲線を算出し、基準荷重を超えた後の前記荷重曲線の単位時間当たりの変化量が予め設定された第1基準値の範囲内であるか否かを判断することを特徴とする。
前記軸部加熱工程では、第1頭部と、前記第1頭部と一体をなして軸方向に延びる軸部とからなる繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂製の中間具を用い、前記軸部を前記各ワークの前記各挿通孔に挿通させつつ非接触の状態で前記軸部のみを加熱し、
前記締結工程では、軸部加圧器具によって締結金型を加圧し、前記締結金型によって、加熱された前記軸部から、前記軸部と一体をなして前記第1頭部と対面する第2頭部を形成し、前記中間具を前記締結具とすることで前記各ワークを締結し、
前記良否判定方法は、加圧中における時間と荷重とによって規定される荷重曲線を算出し、基準荷重を超えた後の前記荷重曲線の単位時間当たりの変化量が予め設定された第1基準値の範囲内であるか否かを判断することを特徴とする。
前記軸体加熱工程では、軸方向に延びる繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂製の軸体を用い、前記軸体を前記各ワークの前記各挿通孔に挿通させつつ非接触の状態で前記軸体のみを加熱し、
前記締結工程では、軸体加圧器具によって締結金型を加圧し、前記締結金型によって、加熱された前記軸体から前記締結具を形成することで前記各ワークを締結し、
前記良否判定方法は、加圧中における時間と荷重とによって規定される荷重曲線を算出し、基準荷重を超えた後の前記荷重曲線の単位時間当たりの変化量が予め設定された第1基準値の範囲内であるか否かを判断することを特徴とする。
図1に示すように、実施例1の締結装置は、プレスユニット1と、高周波誘導加熱機3と、制御コンピュータ5とによって構成されている。プレスユニット1及び高周波誘導加熱機3は、本発明における「締結器具」を構成している。この締結装置では、図12に示すように、締結具11によって、金属製の第1ワークW1と金属製の第2ワークW2との締結作業を行う。なお、第1ワークW1及び第2ワークW1の材質は適宜変更可能である。
まず始めに、CPU53は、サーボプレス機9による締結金型15の加圧の開始から第1ピークP1が発生するまでの時間である第1時間T1が第5基準値の範囲内であるか否かを判断する。ここで、中間具110における軸部11bの寸法が予め設定された規格の範囲内にあれば、サーボプレス機9による締結金型15の加圧開始から、軸部11bの他端側が第2凹部152aの内周面と当接するまでの時間はおおよそ一定となる。このため、図14に示す修正荷重曲線において、第1時間T1が第5基準値の範囲内となり、第1ピークP1の発生が第5基準値の範囲内となる(図5に示すステップS604:YES)。反対に、軸部11bの寸法が規格から外れていれば、サーボプレス機9による締結金型15の加圧開始から、軸部11bの他端側が第2凹部152aの内周面と当接するまでの時間のバラツキが大きくなる。また、保持金型151に保持された中間具110に傾き等が生じている場合にも、軸部11bの他端側が第2凹部152aの内周面と当接するまでの時間のバラツキが大きくなる。これらのため、第1時間T1が第5基準値よりも長くなったり、短くなったりする。この場合、CPU53は、第1ピークP1の発生が第5基準値の範囲を超えていると判断する(ステップS604:NO)。第5基準値の範囲を超えているとCPU53が判断した場合には、以降のステップS605からステップS609までの判断は行わずに、ステップS612へ進む。
この場合についても、CPU53は、第1〜4基準値については、いずれも範囲内であると判定した(ステップS603〜S607:YES)。ここで、この修正荷重曲線では、図15に示す領域Y2において、荷重が著しく低下している。このような荷重の低下は、プレスヘッド9bの荷重が基準荷重を超えて目標荷重まで増大する際、軸部11bに座屈や割れが生じたことが要因であると考えられる。そこで、このような場合には、CPU53は、基準荷重を超えた後の荷重曲線の単位時間当たりの変化量が第1基準値の範囲を超えていると判定する(ステップS608:NO)。
実施例2の締結装置は、高周波誘導加熱機3が第1高周波誘導コイル3bに換えて、図18に示す第2高周波誘導コイル3dを有している。第2高周波誘導コイル3dも本発明における「高周波誘導コイル」の一例である。第2高周波誘導コイル3dには、先端部32と先端部33とが形成されている。先端部32は、実施例1における先端部31と同様の形状をなしている。先端部33は、先端部32と対称の形状となっている。つまり、先端部32には凹部32aが形成されており、先端部33には凹部33aが形成されている。これらの凹部32a及び凹部33aは、後述する軸体111を囲包可能となっている。先端部32と先端部33とは、双方の間に第1ワークW1及び第2ワークW2を収容可能な間隔を設けつつ、軸体111、ひいては、締結具11の軸方向に整列して配置されている。また、この締結装置では、通電コントローラ3c(図1参照)は、第2高周波誘導コイル3dに電力を供給可能となっている。さらに、温度センサは、軸体111の表面温度を検出する。この締結装置における他の構成は実施例1の締結装置と同様であり、同一の構成については同一の符号を付して構成に関する詳細な説明を省略する。
実施例1に係る第1高周波誘導コイル3bや、実施例2に係る第1高周波誘導コイル3dの代わりに、赤外線ヒータを採用し、軸部又は軸体を非接触の状態で加熱する構成も本発明に含まれる。この変形例において、赤外線ヒータは、ガラス管と、その内部に配設されたヒータ電線と、ガラス管の壁面の一部、又はガラス管の外部に設けられた反射面とを有している。赤外線ヒータの形状は、図8及び図9に示す第1高周波誘導コイル3bや、図18に示す第1高周波誘導コイル3dと同様の形状であってもよいし、軸部又は軸体を非接触の状態で加熱可能であれば、どのような形状であってもよい。そして、この変形例では、実施例1、2の締結装置と同様、図5に示す制御フローに沿って、制御コンピュータ5が上記の締結工程で形成された締結具11の良否を判定する。したがって、この変形例においても、繊維強化樹脂製の締結具11による第1ワークW1と第2ワークW2との締結作業を迅速に行うことが可能であり、かつ、第1ワークW1と第2ワークW2との締結作業の品質を高くすることができる。

Claims (24)
- 挿通孔が貫設された複数のワークを締結具によって締結する締結装置であって、
第1頭部と、前記第1頭部と一体をなして軸方向に延びる軸部とからなる中間具を用い、
前記軸部を前記各ワークの前記各挿通孔に挿通させつつ非接触の状態で前記軸部のみを加熱するとともに加圧することにより、前記中間具に前記軸部と一体をなして前記第1頭部と対面する第2頭部を形成し、前記中間具を前記締結具とする締結器具と、
前記締結具の良否を判定する判定器具とを備え、
前記中間具は繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂製であり、
前記締結器具は、加熱された前記軸部から前記第2頭部を形成可能な締結金型と、
前記締結金型を加圧可能な軸部加圧器具とを有し、
前記判定器具は、加圧中における時間と荷重とによって規定される荷重曲線を算出し、基準荷重を超えた後の前記荷重曲線の単位時間当たりの変化量が予め設定された第1基準値の範囲内であるか否かを判断することを特徴とする締結装置。 - 前記締結金型は、第1型と、前記第1型と対面する第2型とからなり、
前記軸部加圧器具は、前記第1型が前記軸部に当接するまでは第1速度で前記第1型を前記第2型に接近させる一方、前記第1型が前記軸部に当接すれば、前記第1速度よりも遅い第2速度で前記第1型を前記第2型に接近させる請求項1記載の締結装置。 - 前記繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂は炭素繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂である請求項1又は2記載の締結装置。
- 前記締結器具は、前記軸部を誘導加熱可能な高周波誘導コイルを有している請求項3記載の締結装置。
- 挿通孔が貫設された複数のワークを締結具によって締結する締結装置であって、
軸方向に延びる軸体を用い、
前記軸体を前記各ワークの前記各挿通孔に挿通させつつ非接触の状態で前記軸体のみを加熱するとともに加圧することにより、前記軸体を第1頭部と、前記第1頭部と一体をなして軸方向に延びる軸部と、前記第1頭部と対面する第2頭部とを形成し、前記軸体を前記締結具とする締結器具と、
前記締結具の良否を判定する判定器具とを備え、
前記軸体は繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂製であり、
前記締結器具は、加熱された前記軸体から前記締結具を形成可能な締結金型と、
前記締結金型を加圧可能な軸体加圧器具とを有し、
前記判定器具は、加圧中における時間と荷重とによって規定される荷重曲線を算出し、基準荷重を超えた後の前記荷重曲線の単位時間当たりの変化量が予め設定された第1基準値の範囲内であるか否かを判断することを特徴とする締結装置。 - 前記締結金型は、第1型と、前記第1型と対面する第2型とからなり、
前記軸体加圧器具は、前記第1型が前記軸体に当接するまでは第1速度で前記第1型を前記第2型に接近させる一方、前記第1型が前記軸体に当接すれば、前記第1速度よりも遅い第2速度で前記第1型を前記第2型に接近させる請求項5記載の締結装置。 - 前記繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂は炭素繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂である請求項5又は6記載の締結装置。
- 前記締結器具は、前記軸体を誘導加熱可能な高周波誘導コイルを有している請求項7記載の締結装置。
- 前記荷重曲線を時間に関して微分することによって算出される修正荷重曲線を前記荷重曲線として用いる請求項1乃至8のいずれか1項記載の締結装置。
- 前記判定器具は、前記荷重曲線において、加圧後初めて示す第1ピークの後の低下量が予め設定された第2基準値の範囲内であるか否かを判断する請求項1乃至9のいずれか1項記載の締結装置。
- 前記判定器具は、前記荷重曲線において、前記第1ピークの後に示す第2ピークまでのピーク間時間が予め設定された第3基準値の範囲内であるか否かを判断する請求項10記載の締結装置。
- 前記判定器具の判定結果を記録する記録器具をさらに備えている請求項1乃至11のいずれか1項記載の締結装置。
- 軸部加熱工程と締結工程とが実行されることにより、挿通孔が貫設された複数のワークを締結する締結具の良否判定方法であって、
前記軸部加熱工程では、第1頭部と、前記第1頭部と一体をなして軸方向に延びる軸部とからなる繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂製の中間具を用い、前記軸部を前記各ワークの前記各挿通孔に挿通させつつ非接触の状態で前記軸部のみを加熱し、
前記締結工程では、軸部加圧器具によって締結金型を加圧し、前記締結金型によって、加熱された前記軸部から、前記軸部と一体をなして前記第1頭部と対面する第2頭部を形成し、前記中間具を前記締結具とすることで前記各ワークを締結し、
前記良否判定方法は、加圧中における時間と荷重とによって規定される荷重曲線を算出し、基準荷重を超えた後の前記荷重曲線の単位時間当たりの変化量が予め設定された第1基準値の範囲内であるか否かを判断することを特徴とする締結具の良否判定方法。 - 前記締結金型は、第1型と、前記第1型と対面する第2型とからなり、
前記軸部加圧器具は、前記第1型が前記軸部に当接するまでは第1速度で前記第1型を前記第2型に接近させる一方、前記第1型が前記軸部に当接すれば、前記第1速度よりも遅い第2速度で前記第1型を前記第2型に接近させる請求項13記載の締結具の良否判定方法。 - 前記繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂は炭素繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂である請求項12又は14記載の締結具の良否判定方法。
- 前記軸部加熱工程では、高周波誘導コイルによって前記軸部を誘導加熱する請求項15記載の締結具の良否判定方法。
- 軸体加熱工程と締結工程とが実行されることにより、挿通孔が貫設された複数のワークを締結する締結具の良否判定方法であって、
前記軸体加熱工程では、軸方向に延びる繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂製の軸体を用い、前記軸体を前記各ワークの前記各挿通孔に挿通させつつ非接触の状態で前記軸体のみを加熱し、
前記締結工程では、軸体加圧器具によって締結金型を加圧し、前記締結金型によって、加熱された前記軸体から前記締結具を形成することで前記各ワークを締結し、
前記良否判定方法は、加圧中における時間と荷重とによって規定される荷重曲線を算出し、基準荷重を超えた後の前記荷重曲線の単位時間当たりの変化量が予め設定された第1基準値の範囲内であるか否かを判断することを特徴とする締結具の良否判定方法。 - 前記締結金型は、第1型と、前記第1型と対面する第2型とからなり、
前記軸体加圧器具は、前記第1型が前記軸体に当接するまでは第1速度で前記第1型を前記第2型に接近させる一方、前記第1型が前記軸体に当接すれば、前記第1速度よりも遅い第2速度で前記第1型を前記第2型に接近させる請求項17記載の締結具の良否判定方法。 - 前記繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂は炭素繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂である請求項17又は18記載の締結具の良否判定方法。
- 前記軸体加熱工程では、高周波誘導コイルによって前記軸体を誘導加熱する請求項19記載の締結具の良否判定方法。
- 前記荷重曲線を時間に関して微分することによって算出される修正荷重曲線を前記荷重曲線として用いる請求項13乃至20のいずれか1項記載の締結具の良否判定方法。
- 前記荷重曲線において、加圧後初めて示す第1ピークの後の低下量が予め設定された第2基準値の範囲内であるか否かを判断する請求項13乃至21のいずれか1項記載の締結具の良否判定方法。
- 前記荷重曲線において、前記第1ピークの後に示す第2ピークまでのピーク間時間が予め設定された第3基準値の範囲内であるか否かを判断する請求項22記載の締結具の良否判定方法。
- 判定結果を記録する請求項13乃至23のいずれか1項記載の締結具の良否判定方法。
