Claims (20)
- マウスピース、前記マウスピースと関連づけられる電極手段、及び前記電極手段と動作可能に接続された電気回路構成要素を含む経粘膜神経筋電気刺激装置であって、
前記マウスピースは、一端で一緒に結合されている1対のアームを備え、
前記1対のアームは、互いに分岐しており、少なくとも1つのアームから内側に延設されている少なくとも1つのフランジを備え、
前記少なくとも1つのフランジは、舌の背側表面と協動するか、又は似た、或いは適応するような形状になっており、
前記少なくとも1つのフランジは、前記マウスピースと関連づけられる前記電極手段を備え、
前記電極手段は、使用時に、舌背表面を経由して、1つ以上の舌筋へ前記電極手段を介して電気刺激を与え、休止筋緊張、及び/又は睡眠時筋緊張を高めるようになっている経粘膜神経筋電気刺激装置。 - 前記電気刺激は、5Hzと150Hzの間の周波数を有する二相性電気インパルス電流である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記二相性電気インパルス電流は、20Hzと120Hzの間の周波数を含んでいる、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記二相性電気インパルス電流は、20Hzと50Hzの間の周波数を含んでいる、請求項2又は3に記載の装置。
- 前記二相性電気インパルス電流は、20Hzと120Hzの間の周波数を含んでいる、請求項2又は3に記載の装置。
- 前記二相性電気インパルス電流は、1mAと100mAの間の振幅を含んでいる、請求項2〜5のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- 前記二相性電気インパルス電流は、5mAと15mAの間の振幅を含んでいる、請求項2〜6のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- 前記二相性電気インパルス電流は、200μsと700μsの間のパルス持続時間を含んでいる、請求項2〜7のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- 前記周波数、前記振幅、前記パルス持続時間及び/又は前記二相性電気インパルス電流による治療時間の1つ以上を調整する調整手段を更に含んでいる、請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- 前記電気刺激又は前記二相性電気インパルス電流の1つ以上の特徴を所定の治療レジメに従って制御するようにプログラムされているか、又はプログラムされる制御手段を更に備えている、請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- 前記電極手段は、前記マウスピースの第1の側部上にある1個以上の前記フランジと関連付けられる第1列の電極、及び前記マウスピースの第2の側部上にある1個以上の前記フランジと関連付けられる第2列の電極を備えている、請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- 前記第1列の電極は作動して第1の電流を供給し、かつ前記第2列の電極は、作動して第2の電流を供給するようになっている、請求項11に記載の装置。
- 前記マウスピースが搭載されるハンドルであって、使用時、前記マウスピースを、口中の1つ以上の場所又は位置及び/又は方向に、挿入させ及び/又は保持することができるハンドルをさらに備えている、請求項1〜12のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- 前記マウスピースは、前記マウスピースを使用者の口に固定するためのリテーナを備えていない、請求項1〜13のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- 前記マウスピースは、前記マウスピースを口に取り付けるための取り付け手段を備えている、請求項1〜12のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- 1対のアームは、一端で共に結合され、かつ互いに分岐して、実質的に蹄鉄の形状を呈する、請求項1〜15のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- 前記マウスピースは、それぞれのアームから内方へ延設された第1の1対のフランジを備えており、前記フランジは、舌背面を収容する形状になっている、請求項16に記載の装置。
- 前記マウスピースは、それぞれのアームから内方へ延設された第2の一対のフランジを備えていて、前記フランジは、舌下面を収容しうる形状になっている、請求項16又は17に記載の装置。
- 前記舌背面を収容する形状になっている前記第1の一対のフランジは、それぞれ、前記アームの自由端に於いて延設され又は前記自由端に隣接し、かつ、舌下面を収容する形状になっている前記第2の1対のフランジは、それぞれ、前記アームの中間部から内方へ延設されている請求項17又は18に記載した装置。
- 第1の一対のフランジは、第1の一連の電極32aに関連し、第2の一対のフランジは、第2の一連の電極32aに関連する、請求項19に記載した装置。
