Description
前記液体流路の壁部もしくは前記吐出口を形成する部材の少なくとも一部が樹脂層からなり、該樹脂層を形成する工程は、
(1)前記基板の外形よりも大きな支持体上に形成した前記樹脂層を準備する工程と、
(2)前記樹脂層を前記支持体に支持された状態で前記基板に貼り合わせる工程と、
(3)前記支持体の端部上であって、前記基板と非接触の端部樹脂層を、該樹脂層が溶
解する溶剤で除去する工程と、
(4)前記支持体を前記樹脂層から剥離する工程と、
をこの順に有することを特徴とする液体吐出ヘッド用基板の製造方法に関する。
(1)前記基板の外形よりも大きな支持体上に形成した前記樹脂層を準備する工程。
(2)前記樹脂層を前記支持体に支持された状態で前記基板に貼り合わせる工程。
(3)前記支持体の端部上であって、前記基板と非接触の端部樹脂層を、該樹脂層が溶解する溶剤で除去する工程。
(4)前記支持体を前記樹脂層から剥離する工程。
図2(a)に示すように、エネルギー発生素子2を含む表面メンブレン層の形成されたシリコン製の基板1を用意した。そして、基板1に、RIE(リアクティブイオンエッチング)方式であるボッシュプロセスにより、共通液室3および液体供給口4を形成した。
支持体の端部上の基板と非接触の樹脂層を除去する工程を行わなかった以外は、実施例1と同様に比較例1に係る液体吐出ヘッド用基板を作製した。具体的な製造方法は以下のとおりである。

Claims (8)
- 基板と、該基板の第一の面に形成された液体を吐出するためのエネルギー発生素子と、該エネルギー発生素子上に液体を配置する液体流路と、該液体流路に連通して液体を吐出する吐出口と、前記基板の前記第一の面に開口し、該液体流路に液体を供給する液体供給口と、該液体供給口に連通し、前記基板の前記第一の面と反対の第二の面に開口する共通液室と、を備える液体吐出ヘッド用基板の製造方法であって、
前記液体流路の壁部もしくは前記吐出口を形成する部材の少なくとも一部が樹脂層からなり、該樹脂層を形成する工程は、
(1)前記基板の外形よりも大きな支持体上に形成した前記樹脂層を準備する工程と、
(2)前記樹脂層を前記支持体に支持された状態で前記基板に貼り合わせる工程と、
(3)前記支持体の端部上であって、前記基板と非接触の端部樹脂層を、該樹脂層が溶解する溶剤で除去する工程と、
(4)前記支持体を前記樹脂層から剥離する工程と、
をこの順に有することを特徴とする液体吐出ヘッド用基板の製造方法。 - 前記工程(3)と前記工程(4)の間に前記溶剤が浸潤した樹脂層を乾燥する乾燥工程を有する、請求項1に記載の液体吐出ヘッド用基板の製造方法。
- 前記乾燥工程において、少なくとも前記基板の外周部を加熱する、請求項2に記載の液体吐出ヘッド用基板の製造方法。
- 前記乾燥工程は少なくとも減圧環境下で実施する、請求項2又は3に記載の液体吐出ヘッド用基板の製造方法。
- 前記基板は凹部を有し、前記工程(2)は、該凹部を前記樹脂層が覆うように前記基板に貼り合わせる工程であり、前記乾燥工程における加熱温度が、前記樹脂層を構成する樹脂の軟化点未満である、請求項2~4のいずれか一項に記載の液体吐出ヘッド用基板の製造方法。
- 前記工程(3)において、前記基板を回転させながら前記溶剤を導入することにより、前記非接触の端部樹脂層を除去する、請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載の液体吐出ヘッド用基板の製造方法。
- 前記基板の端部に対して、前記支持体の端部が外側に5mm以内の位置にあり、前記工程(3)において、前記基板の回転数を500~2000rpmの範囲に制御する請求項6に記載の液体吐出ヘッド用基板の製造方法。
- 前記基板の端部に対して、前記支持体の端部が外側に5mmを越える位置にあり、前記工程(3)において、前記溶剤を前記基板側から導入する請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の液体吐出ヘッド用基板の製造方法。
