Description
2a,4aの相互間が不均一に開くことを有効に抑制し、密封性能が向上する。
図1に示す回転シールリング2を密封用摺動部材により製造した。密封用摺動部材の製造に際しては、平均粒径が3.5μmのセリウム酸化物と、鱗片状黒鉛(黒鉛化されなかった易黒鉛化性炭素を含む)と、平均粒径が40μm難黒鉛化性炭素と、バインダ樹脂としてのフェノール樹脂とを、表1に示す重量割合で混練してリング状に成形した。得られた成形体を、1000°Cの温度で焼成した。
できた場合を評価Aとし、結果を表2に示した。
原料段階における難黒鉛化性炭素と黒鉛とセリウム酸化物との重量割合と、セリウム酸化物の粒径を、表1に示すように変化させた以外は、実施例1と同様にして摺動部材から成るシールリング2を製造し、実施例1と同様にして、測定および評価を行った。結果を表2に示す。
原料段階において、セリウム酸化物を添加せず、難黒鉛化性炭素と黒鉛との重量割合を、表1に示すように変化させた以外は、実施例1と同様にして摺動部材から成るシールリング2を製造し、実施例1と同様にして、測定および評価を行った。結果を表2に示す。
表2に示すように、セリウム酸化物(CeO2 )が黒鉛と難黒鉛化炭素と共に所定の割合で含まれるシールリングを、シリケートLLC中にて摺動させたとしても、密封性能が向上することが確認できた。これは、シリコン酸化物の体積を抑制できたからであると考えられ、特にセリウム酸化物(CeO2 )の重量割合が増して、表面でのセリウム酸化物の比表面積が増すほど、シリコン酸化物の堆積抑制効果は大きいと考えられる。

Claims (4)
- 1.0~12.5wt%のセリウム酸化物と、20~50wt%の黒鉛と易黒鉛化性炭素を足し合わせたものと、残部の難黒鉛化性炭素と、から成る焼成体を有する密封用摺動部材。
- 前記セリウム酸化物の平均粒径が1.0~6.0μmである請求項1に記載の密封用摺動部材。
- リング状に成形してある請求項1または2に記載の密封用摺動部材。
- 請求項1~3のいずれかに記載の密封用摺動部材を有するシール装置。
