Description

Claims (6)
- 医療機器システムであって、
第1の医療用電気リードであって、
第1の近位端から第1の遠位端に、前記第1の遠位端に近接する第1の遠位部分と共に延在する第1の細長いリード本体であって、前記第1の遠位部分が、口腔中に貫入することなく、前記口腔の下方の突き出し筋組織内に設けられた中空送達ツールの内部をとおって経皮的に前進するように構成される、第1の細長いリード本体と、
前記口腔の下方の前記突き出し筋組織を刺激する内側枝に近接する組織内に移植される第1の複数の電極であって、前記第1の遠位部分に沿って離間された第1の複数の電極と、を含む、第1の医療用電気リードと、
治療送達期間全体にわたって患者の舌の突き出し状態を持続させるように、前記第1の近位端を受容し、かつ前記第1の複数の電極を介して前記突き出し筋組織を活性化するための電気刺激パルスを送達するように構成されたパルス発生器と、を備える、医療機器システム。 - 前記パルス発生器が、前記治療送達期間全体にわたって前記舌の前記突き出し状態を持続させるように、少なくとも前記突き出し筋組織の第1の部分および前記突き出し筋組織の第2の部分をそれぞれ順次活性化するように、前記治療送達期間中に前記第1の複数の電極から、少なくとも第1の双極対および第2の双極対を順次選択するように構成されている、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記パルス発生器が、前記治療送達期間の開始時間から前記治療送達期間の終了時間まで、複数の呼吸サイクルの吸気および呼気段階とは無関係に、
前記第1の複数の電極から第1の双極対を選択することと、
前記治療送達期間の第1のデューティーサイクルの間、前記第1の双極対を介して、前記電気刺激パルスの第1の部分を送達することと、
前記第1の複数の電極から第2の双極対を選択することと、
前記治療送達期間の第2のデューティーサイクルの間、前記第2の双極対を介して、前記電気刺激パルスの第2の部分を送達することと、によって、前記電気刺激パルスを継続的に送達するように構成されている、請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 突き出し筋緊張に相関する信号を生成するように構成されたセンサをさらに備え、
前記パルス発生器が、
前記センサの信号に基づいて、前記突き出し筋緊張の状態を判定することと、
前記突き出し筋緊張の判定された前記状態に基づいて、前記治療送達期間中に前記電気刺激パルスを調整することと、を行うように構成されている、請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 第2の医療用電気リードをさらに備え、前記第2の医療用電気リードが、
第2の近位端から第2の遠位端まで、前記第2の遠位端に近接する第2の遠位部分と共に延在する第2の細長いリード本体と、
前記第2の遠位部分に沿って離間された第2の複数の電極と、を含み、
前記第2の遠位部分が、前記第1の複数の電極よりも正中面の反対側の前記突き出し筋組織に沿って、前記第2の遠位部分によって支持される前記第2の複数の電極を位置決めするように、前記口腔中に貫入せず、かつ前記第1の遠位部分の反対側の前記突き出し筋組織の前記正中面の横方向に隣接する、前記口腔の下方の前記突き出し筋組織内に設けられた中空送達ツールの内部をとおって、経皮的に前進するように構成されており、
前記パルス発生器が、前記治療送達期間全体にわたって前記患者の舌の前記突き出し状態を持続させるように、前記第2の近位端を受容し、かつ前記第1の複数の電極および前記第2の複数の電極から、少なくとも第1のデューティーサイクルのための第1の双極電極対、および第2のデューティーサイクルのための第2の双極電極対を順次選択することによって、前記電気刺激パルスを送達するようにさらに構成されている、請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 前記第1の細長いリード本体は、前記パルス発生器が前記患者の頸部に沿って移植されるときに、前記第1の遠位部分から前記パルス発生器までの最大距離を拡張する長さを有する、請求項1に記載のシステム。
