Description
(第1実施形態)
[画像記録装置の構成]
図1は、第1実施形態に係る画像記録装置1の外観図である。図2は、図1のヘッド5の正面図である。画像記録装置1は、例えば、スマートフォンのケース等の立体構造を有する印刷対象物Wの表面に印刷することができる。画像記録装置1は、後述するように、動作時には印刷対象物Wの表面に所定の散乱膜50(図6参照)を形成し、散乱膜50と測距センサ26とを用いてヘッド5と印刷対象物Wとの距離D(図6参照)を計測し、この計測結果に基づくことで印刷対象物Wに適切な印刷処理を実行する第1モードと、前記計測結果とは無関係に初期設定条件に基づいて印刷対象物Wを印刷する第2モードとのいずれかで動作する。
次に、第1モード時に画像記録装置1が行う各処理について説明する。画像記録装置1は、第1モードに設定されている場合、ユーザから印刷ジョブの要求を受けると、制御部6が、第2ノズル21から液体を吐出して印刷対象物W上に散乱膜50(図6参照)を形成する散乱膜形成処理と、散乱膜50に照射された発光部27からの光により距離Dを計測する計測処理と、計測された距離Dに基づいて第2ノズル21からインクを吐出する吐出条件(以下、単に吐出条件とも称する。)を調整し、印刷対象物Wに印刷を行う印刷処理とを順次実行する。
図8は、第2実施形態に係る印刷処理を示す模式図である。第2実施形態では、吐出条件は、一例として、第1ノズル20からインクを吐出する吐出速度を含む。
図9は、第3実施形態に係る印刷処理を示す模式図である。第3実施形態では、吐出条件は、一例として、印刷処理におけるヘッド5の走査方向Dsへの移動速度を含む。

Claims (10)
- 所定の走査方向に移動可能に配置されたキャリッジと、
前記キャリッジと共に前記走査方向に走査されるヘッドと、
印刷対象物に向けて光を出射する発光部と、前記発光部からの光を前記印刷対象物で反射した反射光を受光する受光部とを有し、前記反射光により前記ヘッドと前記印刷対象物との間の距離を計測する少なくとも1つの測距センサと、
前記測距センサに接続されて前記ヘッドを制御する制御部と、を備え、
前記ヘッドは、
印刷用のインクを吐出する少なくとも1つの第1ノズルと、
前記発光部からの光を散乱させる液体を吐出する少なくとも1つの第2ノズルと、を有し、
前記測距センサは、前記ヘッドの前記走査方向への往復走査の往路又は復路の少なくともいずれかのうち、前記第2ノズルから前記インクが吐出される吐出路において、前記第2ノズルよりも前記吐出路における前記ヘッドの前記走査方向の進行側とは反対側となる位置に配置され、
前記制御部は、
前記第2ノズルから前記液体を吐出することにより前記印刷対象物上に前記液体からなる散乱膜を形成する散乱膜形成処理と、
前記散乱膜に照射された前記発光部からの前記光により前記距離を計測する計測処理と、
前記計測された前記距離に基づいて前記第1ノズルから前記インクを吐出する吐出条件を調整し、前記印刷対象物に印刷を行う印刷処理と、を実行する、画像記録装置。 - 前記測距センサは、三角測量方式であり、前記受光部に対する前記反射光の入射角により前記距離を計測する、請求項1に記載の画像記録装置。
- 前記往路と前記復路とが、共に前記吐出路であり、
一対の前記測距センサが、前記第2ノズルの前記走査方向の両側に配置されている、請求項1に記載の画像記録装置。 - 前記制御部は、前記走査方向と直交する所定の搬送方向に搬送される前記印刷対象物に対して、前記ヘッドの前記走査方向への往復走査毎に、前記ヘッドの走査線上に位置する前記印刷対象物の領域に前記散乱膜形成処理、前記計測処理、及び前記印刷処理を繰り返し実行する、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の画像記録装置。
- 前記制御部は、前記ヘッドの前記走査方向への往復走査において、往路への走査中に前記散乱膜形成処理と前記計測処理とを実行し、復路への走査中に前記印刷処理を実行する、請求項4に記載の画像記録装置。
- 前記第2ノズルと前記測距センサとが、前記第1ノズルよりも前記搬送方向の上流側に配置されている、請求項4又は5に記載の画像記録装置。
- 前記吐出条件は、前記第1ノズルからインクを吐出する吐出タイミングを含む、請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の画像記録装置。
- 前記吐出条件は、前記第1ノズルからインクを吐出する吐出速度を含む、請求項1~7のいずれか1項に記載の画像記録装置。
- 前記制御部は、前記印刷処理において、複数の前記第1ノズルを複数のグループに分け、前記グループ毎に個別に前記吐出速度を調整する、請求項8に記載の画像記録装置。
- 前記液体は、白色インクである、請求項1~9のいずれか1項に記載の画像記録装置。
