The present invention relates to a box for rehabilitation therapy.

Illusion therapy is one type of rehabilitation therapy. When hemiplegia occurs after a stroke or other condition, it is expected that the motor functions of the paralyzed side will be restored by performing illusion therapy. Illusion therapy can also be expected to reduce phantom pain in the lost upper limb. One of the tools used in this illusion therapy is the mirror box, which is a box with a mirror installed inside.

An example of such a mirror box is shown in Non-Patent Document 1.

In the mirror box of Non-Patent Document 1, it is necessary to ensure sufficient space within the mirror box in order to make rehabilitation easy when using it.

This poses the problem of needing space to store the mirror box when not in use.

Therefore, in order to solve the above problems, the objective is to provide a box for rehabilitation therapy that is both easy to assemble when in use and space-saving when not in use.

The box for rehabilitation therapy of claim 1 is an illusion therapy using mirrors, and has a body that can be assembled and folded, and a lid that can be attached to the upper opening of the assembled body, the wall of the assembled body has an insertion opening formed therein for inserting a hand into the inside of the box, and an opening is formed in the top plate of the lid attached to the body, and a mirror can be inserted through the opening in the lid so that the lower end of the mirror abuts the bottom plate of the body and the back side of the mirror is supported by the lid, allowing the mirror to be placed in an inclined state in the box for rehabilitation therapy, and a protruding protrusion is provided on the outer edge of the folded body, and a receiving portion is provided on the inner wall of the lid into which the protrusion of the folded body can be fitted .

According to the rehabilitation therapy box of claim 1, the folded body is fixed in a housed state in the lid, so the space it occupies when not in use is sufficient to cover the outer dimensions of the lid. Furthermore, if the body is fixed, the lid containing the body can be placed not only flat but also vertically. This allows for a wider range of storage locations.

Furthermore, according to the box for rehabilitation therapy of claim 1, the simple structure of the projecting portion of the body and the receiving portion of the lid makes it easy to fasten and release the folded body and the lid.

Furthermore, according to the rehabilitation therapy box of claim 1, by placing the mirror in an inclined position, one hand inserted inside the box is reflected in the mirror, and the one hand reflected in the mirror through the opening in the lid can be mistaken for the other hand.

The rehabilitation therapy box of claim 2 is the rehabilitation therapy box of claim 1 , in which a pressing piece is provided on the bottom plate of the body, which abuts the front side of the mirror at the lower end of the mirror inserted through the opening in the lid.

The box for rehabilitation therapy of claim 2 has the same effect as the box for rehabilitation therapy of claim 1 , and in addition, the back side of the mirror is supported by a lid and a pressing piece presses the lower end of the mirror from the front side of the mirror, thereby preventing the mirror from shifting from its installed position.

The box for rehabilitation therapy of claim 3 is a box for rehabilitation therapy of claim 1 or 2 , in which a portion of the top surface of the lid can be opened and closed, and an opening in the lid is formed by opening a portion of the top plate.

The box for rehabilitation therapy of claim 3 has the same function as the box for rehabilitation therapy of claim 1 or 2 , and in addition, part of the top plate in the open state can widely support the back side of the mirror that is inserted through the opening.

The box for rehabilitation therapy according to any one of claims 1 to 3 has the advantage of being easy to assemble when in use and being space-saving when stored when not in use.

The rehabilitation therapy box 1 according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.

The rehabilitation therapy box 1 is a cover-lid type box having a body 2 and a lid 3.

The body 2 can be assembled and folded.

The lid 3 can be attached by placing it over the upper opening of the assembled body 2.

The rehabilitation therapy box 1 is used for mirror-based illusion therapy, as shown in Figure 1.

As shown in FIG. 8, the first wall 22 of the assembled body 2 has an insertion opening 25 formed therein for inserting the hand of the rehabilitation subject into the rehabilitation box 1.

As shown in FIG. 14, an opening is formed in the top plate 31 of the lid 3 attached to the body 2.

The mirror 4 can be inserted through the opening in the lid 3 and placed in the rehabilitation therapy box 1 with the mirror 4 tilted.

As shown in Figure 1, one hand of the rehabilitation subject is inserted inside the rehabilitation box 1 and reflected in the mirror 4, and the left hand reflected in the mirror 4 through the opening in the lid 3 appears to be the other hand, the right hand.

In addition, the first wall portion 22 opposite the first wall portion 22 in which the insertion opening 25 is formed has an auxiliary insertion opening 26 into which the hand of a therapist or other person assisting in rehabilitation can be inserted.

As shown in Figure 2, for example, the therapist can work on the right hand behind mirror 4 so that it is in the same position as the left hand of the person being rehabilitated reflected in mirror 4.

The insertion port 25 and the auxiliary insertion port 26 have the same shape. In Figs. 1 and 2, they are used to create the illusion that the rehabilitation recipient's left hand reflected in the mirror is a right hand. It is also possible to use the mirror to create the illusion that the rehabilitation recipient's right hand reflected in the mirror is a left hand by rotating the rehabilitation box 1 and inserting the rehabilitation recipient's hand into the rehabilitation box 1 through the auxiliary insertion port 26. In this case, it is of course also possible for a therapist assisting the rehabilitation to insert their hand through the insertion port 25 and work on the left hand behind the mirror 4.

The configuration of the body 2 is explained in detail below with reference to Figures 5 to 8.

The body 2 consists of a blank piece of cardboard that has been cut and scored.

The body 2 has a bottom plate portion 21, first wall portions 22, 22, and second wall portions 23, 23.

The bottom plate portion 21 is rectangular in plan view.

The bottom plate portion 21 of the body 2 has pressing pieces 27, 27 that can rise up from the inner surface of the bottom plate portion 21.

A protrusion 28 is provided on each short side of the bottom plate portion 21 of the body 2.

The first walls 22, 22 are each connected to the bottom plate 21 along the long side of the bottom plate 21 as a fold line.

As shown in FIG. 8, one of the first walls 22 has an insertion opening 25 for inserting the rehabilitation subject's hand.

As also shown in FIG. 8, the other first wall portion 22 has an auxiliary insertion opening 26 through which the hand of a therapist or other person assisting in rehabilitation can be inserted.

The first walls 22, 22 can be positioned so that they rise up from the bottom plate 21, with the long sides of the bottom plate 21 acting as fold lines.

Each first wall portion 22 has arm flaps 24, 24 extending from its respective side edges as fold lines.

As shown in FIG. 6, when the first walls 22, 22 are raised relative to the bottom plate 21 at the fold lines, the corresponding arm flaps 24, 24 can be positioned so that their tips overlap.

As shown in Figures 7 and 8, the second wall portions 23, 23 are formed by inserting the corresponding arm flaps 24 into each other.

The second walls 23, 23 stand upright near the opposing short sides of the bottom plate 21.

The assembled body 2 as shown in Figure 8 is folded in the following steps.

Release the corresponding arm flaps 24, 24 from each other.

The arm flaps 24, 24 extending from the side edges of each first wall portion 22 are folded so as to overlap the first wall portion 22, with the side edges of the first wall portion 22 as fold lines.

The first wall portion 22 with the folded arm flaps 24, 24 is folded so that it overlaps with the bottom plate portion 21, with the long side of the bottom plate portion 21 as the fold line.

As shown in FIG. 5, the body 2 is in a state where the first wall portion 22 and the arm flaps 24 are folded onto the bottom plate portion 21.

A protrusion 28 protrudes from the outer edge of the folded body 2.

The configuration of the lid 3 will be described in detail below with reference to Figures 5 and 9 to 11.

The lid 3 is also made from a single blank cardboard that has been cut and scored.

The lid 3 has a top plate 31, a pair of first lid wall portions 32, 32, and a pair of second lid wall portions 33, 33.

The top plate 31 is rectangular in plan view.

The first cover wall portions 32, 32 face the direction in which the long side of the top plate 31 extends, and the second cover wall portions 33, 33 face the direction in which the short side extends.

The opening/closing section 34, which is part of the top plate 31, can be opened and closed.

The opening of the lid 3 is formed when the opening/closing portion 34, which is part of the top plate 31, is opened.

The first lid wall portion 32, 32 and the second lid wall portion 33, 33 each have a double-wall structure.

The first lid wall portion 32 has a recess 35 that serves as a receiver at a position corresponding to the protruding portion 28 of the folded body 2. The recess 35 is provided in each of the first lid wall portions 32, 32.

The opening and closing portion 34 has a tip folding portion 34a.

The protruding portion 28 of the folded body 2 is inserted into the recess 35 of the lid 3, so that the body 2 is fixed in place inside the lid 3.

By pushing apart the pair of first lid walls 32, 32 of the lid 3 in a direction separating them from each other, the protruding parts 28 of the body 2 are each disengaged from the recesses 35 of the lid 3. This causes the body 2 to be no longer fixed to the lid 3.

The following describes the process of changing the rehabilitation therapy box 1 from the state in which the body 2 is housed in the lid 3 to the state in which it is ready for use as shown in Figure 1.

As shown in Figure 3, the body 2 and mirror 4 are stored in the lid 3, and the mirror 4 is first removed.

Next, as shown in FIG. 4, the pair of first lid walls 32 of the lid 3 are pushed apart in a direction that separates them from each other, thereby releasing the fixation of the body 2 to the lid 3.

Next, as shown in Figure 5, the body 2 is removed from the lid 3 by turning it upside down.

Next, as shown in FIG. 6, from the folded state of the body 2, the first walls 22, 22 are opened so as to rise perpendicular to the bottom plate 21. Furthermore, the arm flaps 24, 24 overlapping each first wall 22 are opened so as to be perpendicular to the first wall 22. The corresponding arm flaps 24, 24 are positioned so that their tips overlap each other.

Next, as shown in Figures 7 and 8, the corresponding arm flaps 24, 24 are inserted into each other above the short sides of the bottom plate portion 21 of the body 2. The inserted arm flaps 24, 24 form the second wall portion 23.

By inserting the arm flaps 24 into each other, the body 2 is maintained in a state in which the first walls 22, 22 and the second walls 23, 23 are erected against the bottom plate 21. Assembly of the body 2 is completed in the state shown in Figure 8.

Next, as shown in FIG. 9, the opening/closing part 34 is pressed upward while pinching the inner wall and the outer wall of the double wall of the second cover wall part 33, 33 with fingers so as to bring them closer together, and the opening/closing part 34 is lifted.

Next, fold the lid 3 so that the opening widens, as shown in Figure 10.

Next, the tip fold 34a is also folded as shown in FIG. 11.

Next, as shown in Figures 12 and 13, the lid 3 in Figure 11 is turned upside down and placed over the assembled body 2 in Figure 8.

Next, as shown in FIG. 14, the fold line of the tip fold 34a of the opening/closing section 34 is hooked onto the pressing pieces 27, 27. The tip fold 34a comes into contact with the inner surface of the bottom plate section 21.

Next, as shown in FIG. 15, while keeping the back surface of the mirror 4 in contact with the opening, insert the mirror 4 into the rehabilitation box 1 through the opening of the lid 3.

As shown in FIG. 16, the lower end of the mirror 4 abuts against the bottom plate 21 of the body 2, and the back side of the mirror 4 is supported by the lid 3. The opening/closing part 34 is designed to abut and support the back side of the mirror 4 inserted through the opening over a wide range.

At the bottom end of the inserted mirror 4, the pressing pieces 27, 27 abut against the front side of the mirror.

By abutting the mirror 4 from both the front and back sides, the mirror 4 is stably supported.

In the above embodiment, the rehabilitation therapy box 1 has been described as being used for illusion therapy using mirrors, as shown in FIG. 1, but the present invention is not limited to this. The rehabilitation therapy box may be used for rehabilitation therapies other than illusion therapy, as long as it is easy to assemble when in use and requires minimal storage space when not in use.

In the above embodiment, the case where the body 2 and the lid 3 are made of a cardboard blank has been described, but this is not limited to this. The body material may be, for example, cardboard or resin.

In the above embodiment, the bottom plate portion 21 is described as being rectangular in plan view, but this is not limited to this. The bottom plate portion may be a polygon other than a rectangle, a circle, an ellipse, etc. Naturally, the shape of the top plate may also be a polygon other than a rectangle, a circle, an ellipse, etc. to match the shape of the bottom plate portion.

In the above embodiment, the bottom plate portion 21 is provided with two pressing pieces 27, 27, but this is not limited to the above. The bottom plate portion may have a different configuration, such as a groove into which the bottom end of the mirror fits, so that the bottom end of the mirror inserted through the opening in the lid does not move.

In the above embodiment, the second wall portions 23, 23 are formed by inserting the corresponding arm flaps 24 into each other, but this is not limited to the above. They may be formed in a different configuration, such as one in which the second wall portion also rises as the first wall portion rises.

In the above embodiment, the top plate 31 has an opening/closing section 34 that can be opened and closed, and the opening of the lid 3 is formed when the opening/closing section 34 that is part of the top plate 31 is opened, but this is not limited to the above. For example, the top plate may be provided with an opening of a size that allows the folded body to be stored in the lid without any problems.

The outer surface of the bottom plate of the assembled body may be provided with an anti-slip material or the like to generate sufficient static friction with the surface on which the body is placed.

Claims (3)

The rehabilitation therapy is an illusion therapy using mirrors,
A body that can be assembled and folded;
a lid attachable to an upper opening of the assembled body;
The assembled body wall has an opening formed therein for inserting a hand into the box,
An opening is formed on the top of the lid attached to the body,
The mirror can be inserted through the opening in the lid, with the bottom end of the mirror abutting the bottom plate of the body and the back side of the mirror being supported by the lid, so that the mirror can be placed in an inclined state in the rehabilitation therapy box.
