本実施形態の建具は、火災時に火炎の影響を受けやすい内障子2の召合框(左竪框)に配置する補強材を工夫することで、高い防火性能を付与している。
以下、本実施形態の召し合せ部の構成について、詳細に説明する。

なお、気密ピース8の室外側気密片82、室外側下方気密片83及び室内側下方気密片84は、例えば複数条(図5では、5条)のヒレ片から形成されており、室外側気密片82と室外側下方気密片83は一体的に連続していてもよい。

なお、気密ピース8の取付本体部81の形状等によって気密ピース8と中央見付壁231kが干渉しないようであれば、切欠きc2は形成しなくてもよい。

また、室外側気密片82と気密材s23によって、左竪框23の下方位置における内障子2の左竪框23の室外側面と外障子3の右竪框34の室内側面の間が気密されている。

室内側で火災が発生した時には、図9(a)に示すように、左竪框23の左竪框本体部231の室内側壁231hは火炎にさらされて焼失し、ガラス間口23gを構成する底壁231g及び室内側間口壁231iは火炎や熱の影響を受けやすい。そのため、火災の早い段階で、図9(b)に示すように、ガラス間口23gの底壁231g及び室内側間口壁231iが溶融もしくは変形し、左竪框23のガラス間口23gとパネル体25との間に隙間Sが生じる可能性があった。
