Description
本発明の他の態様によると、前記下地層は、30nm以下の厚さである。
本発明の他の態様によると、前記下地層は、酸素原子を含む前記基板上に形成されるか、または前記基板上に形成された酸化物の膜の上に形成される。
本発明の他の態様によると、前記電極は、前記基板上において、前記光導波路を挟む位置に当該光導波路に沿って配された複数の電極で構成される。
本発明の他の態様は、光の変調を行う光変調素子である上記いずれかの光導波路素子と、光導波路素子を収容する筺体と、前記光導波路素子に光を入力する光ファイバと、前記光導波路素子が出力する光を前記筺体の外部へ導く光ファイバと、を備える光変調器である。
Claims (5)
- 光導波路が形成された基板と、
前記基板の上に形成された、前記光導波路を伝搬する光波を制御する電極と、
を有する光導波路素子であって、
前記光導波路は、前記基板上に延在する凸部により構成され、
前記電極は、前記基板との間にNb及び酸素原子で構成される下地層と、下地層の上に形成された上部層と、で構成され、
前記下地層は、酸素に対するNbの元素比率Nb/Oが1.0以上である、
光導波路素子。 - 前記下地層は、30nm以下の厚さである、
請求項1に記載の光導波路素子。 - 前記下地層は、酸素原子を含む前記基板上に形成されるか、または前記基板上に形成された酸化物の膜の上に形成される、
請求項1または2に記載の光導波路素子。 - 前記電極は、前記基板上において、前記光導波路を挟む位置に当該光導波路に沿って配された複数の電極で構成される、
請求項1ないし3のいずれか一項に記載の光導波路素子。 - 光の変調を行う光変調素子である請求項1ないし4のいずれか一項に記載の光導波路素子と、
前記光導波路素子を収容する筺体と、
前記光導波路素子に光を入力する光ファイバと、
前記光導波路素子が出力する光を前記筺体の外部へ導く光ファイバと、
を備える光変調器。
