Description

The present invention relates to a water-based polishing box that allows dust removal during polishing or cutting work, and in particular to a water-based polishing box that allows dental polishing work, etc. to be performed safely and with high precision using cleaning water.

Conventionally, dental dust collectors have been known that are used, for example, when polishing or cutting dental workpieces such as dentures, to collect polishing and cutting debris generated from the workpiece and prevent them from scattering. One type of dental dust collector of this type uses an air flow to adsorb polishing debris and the like onto a filter to prevent them from scattering.

For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a dental dust collector that includes a base on which the operator can place both hands, a dust suction port unit that is provided at the front end of the base and has a dust suction port for sucking in dust from the outside, a detachable filter unit that removes dust from the air that passes through the dust suction port, and a cover that is provided so as to be rotatable between a working position and a filter replacement position.

The dental dust collector disclosed in the document is connected to an exhaust device that applies suction force to a dust suction port unit. When an operator uses a small grinder or the like to grind a workpiece, air flows in from an air intake port due to the suction of the exhaust device, passes between the operator's hands, and then flows into the dust suction port unit through a filter unit and is then discharged. This prevents dust generated by operations such as grinding from scattering to the outside.

For example, Patent Document 2 discloses a front-opening work box that includes a base on which a worker places both hands, a cover that is open at the front and has insertion openings for both hands on the sides and is attached to the base only at the rear, and a suction port provided at the rear of the base. The front-opening work box disclosed in this document has a transparent plate and a magnifying mirror on the upper wall of the cover.

The applicant has also devised a water-using polishing box that uses a cleaning flow to remove polishing debris during polishing and other operations. For example, Patent Document 3 discloses a water-using polishing box that allows the spraying of cleaning water during polishing and other operations to cool the workpiece, and collects polishing debris and cutting debris generated from the workpiece W together with the cleaning water, preventing the scattering of polishing debris and other debris.

However, in a method of removing dust from work such as polishing using airflow, like the conventional dental dust collector described above, an exhaust system with a suction pump or the like is required to suck up the air containing dust. In addition, a piping hose must be installed between the dust suction port of the polishing box and the exhaust system to allow free air flow between the dust suction port and the exhaust system, and a filter must be installed in the air flow path to adsorb dust. For this reason, polishing devices using conventional dental dust collectors have the problem that many components are required for work such as polishing, making the system complicated.

In addition, the above-mentioned conventional technology, which uses airflow to remove dust, does not have a mechanism for catching and collecting the scattered cleaning water, so cleaning water cannot be sprayed from the grinding machine during grinding and other operations. This causes heat generated by friction between the workpiece and the machining tool, which increases the temperature of the workpiece, causing a problem of deterioration in the quality of the workpiece.

In addition, the polishing box uses airflow to remove dust by absorbing it with a filter, so dust easily adheres to the filter and the dust-covered filter needs to be replaced frequently. This requires the preparation of many replacement filters, and the task of replacing the filters is a burden.

In addition, in a configuration such as the work box disclosed in Patent Document 2, where the workpiece is polished or cut while observing the work status in the processing area through a transparent plate or a magnifying glass, there is a problem in that dust adheres to the inner surface of the transparent plate or the magnifying glass, making it difficult to observe the work status.

The water-using polishing box disclosed in Patent Document 3 allows work to be performed while spraying cleaning water from the polishing machine or the like during polishing or other work, without having to stop spraying cleaning water from the polishing machine or the like as in the conventional dental dust collector that uses air flow. However, there are areas that need improvement in order to make it easier to clean the device after polishing or other work, and to improve the efficiency and precision of polishing or other work.

The present invention was made in consideration of the above circumstances, and its purpose is to provide a water-operated polishing box that can remove dust with simple equipment, allows easy observation of the working state, enables high-precision polishing or cutting work, and is easy to clean after polishing or other work.

The water-using polishing box of the present invention comprises a water tray placed on top of a support stand, an upper cover member provided above the water tray and forming a polishing work space between the water tray and the upper cover member, and a water storage container provided below the water tray and supported by the support stand for storing running water from the water tray, the upper cover member having a work opening formed therein through which a working hand can be inserted into the polishing work space, the upper cover member being separable into a front cover member having the work opening formed therein and a rear cover member provided behind the front cover member, the front and upper surface portions of the front cover member and the upper surface portion of the rear cover member being formed from a transparent material, the side portions of the front cover member and the back and side portions of the rear cover member being formed from an opaque material, and the upper surface portion of the rear cover member being provided with an LED light source for illuminating the polishing work space .

The polishing box using water of the present invention comprises a water tray placed on the top of the support stand, an upper cover member provided above the water tray and forming a polishing work space between the water tray and the upper cover member, and a water storage container provided below the water tray for storing running water from the water tray. The upper cover member is provided with a work opening through which the working hand can be inserted into the polishing work space, and the upper cover member can be easily separated and removed into a front cover member with the work opening formed therein and a rear cover member provided behind the front cover member.

With this configuration, the worker can insert the workpiece to be processed and his/her hands holding the grinder into the grinding work space inside the box through the work opening, and perform grinding or polishing of the workpiece while spraying cleaning water. This allows the cleaning water to capture grinding waste and other debris that scatters from the processed part of the workpiece, sweeping it downward and storing it inside the water storage container. This makes it possible to prevent dust generated from the workpiece during grinding or other operations from scattering inside the room.

The top cover member can be separated into a front cover member and a rear cover member behind it, and then removed. Therefore, when processing such as polishing the workpiece is completed, the top cover member can be separated into the front cover member and the rear cover member and removed, allowing the inside of the polishing work space to be thoroughly cleaned. In other words, the front cover member and the rear cover member can be removed from the water receiving tray, and dust and other particles adhering to the front cover member, the rear cover member, and the water receiving tray can be washed away.

In addition, according to the wet polishing box of the present invention, the front cover member may have a protrusion protruding outward from the side, and the side of the rear cover member may have a hook-shaped engagement portion that engages with the protrusion. This makes it possible to easily and accurately assemble the top cover member, and prevents the front cover member and the rear cover member from coming off during polishing or other operations.

According to the water-use polishing box of the present invention, the work opening is composed of a first work opening through which the hand holding the workpiece can be inserted, and a second work opening through which the hand holding the polishing machine can be inserted, and the second work opening may be formed so as to open continuously from the front part of the front cover member to the side part and the top part. This allows the worker to easily insert the polishing machine from the second work opening that opens continuously to the front part, side part and top part. In addition, the worker can accurately visually confirm the part being processed by the polishing machine or the like from the second work opening. This makes it easier to move the hand performing the processing, facilitating the operation of the polishing machine or the like, and allows the processing state to be accurately grasped through vision, allowing safe and high-precision polishing and other processing.

In addition, according to the water-using polishing box of the present invention, a support member for supporting the periphery of the top cover member may be provided inside the water receiving tray. This makes it easier to attach the top cover member to the correct position, and prevents the top cover member from moving or coming off during polishing or other work, making it easier to perform the work.

In addition, according to the water-using polishing box of the present invention, the front and top surfaces of the top cover member may be formed from a transparent material, and the back and side surfaces of the top cover member may be formed from an opaque material. This allows the worker to accurately see the part of the workpiece being processed by a polishing machine or the like through the transparent front and top surfaces of the top cover member. In addition, because the back and side surfaces of the top cover member are formed from an opaque material, it is possible to prevent the polishing status of the workpiece from being difficult to see due to transmitted light from indoor lighting, etc. into the polishing work space.

In addition, according to the water-use polishing box of the present invention, an LED light source that illuminates the polishing work space may be provided on the upper surface of the rear cover member. This makes it easier to see the polishing area of the workpiece, allows the polishing status to be accurately grasped by visual inspection, and allows for high-precision and high-quality polishing and other processing.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS A wet polishing box according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a front view showing a schematic structure of a polishing box 1 using water according to an embodiment of the present invention.

Referring to FIG. 1, the water-using polishing box 1 is used for polishing, cutting, and other operations. Specifically, the water-using polishing box 1 is used to cool the workpiece W (see FIG. 6) by spraying cleaning water during polishing and other operations, and to collect polishing chips, cutting chips, and other debris generated from the workpiece W, preventing the polishing chips and other debris from scattering.

For example, the wet polishing box 1 is used to remove dust when an operator such as a dentist or dental technician polishes a dental workpiece W such as a denture using a polishing machine P (see FIG. 6) such as an air grinder called a handpiece. That is, the wet polishing box 1 is used in dental technology to prevent dust from scattering from the workpiece W and to process the workpiece W with high precision and quality.
For example, the wet polishing box 1 may also be used for fine work such as jewelry processing.

As shown in FIG. 1, the water-using polishing box 1 has a box 2 in which a polishing work space 3 is formed, a water receiving tray 6 that forms the lower part of the box 2, and a water storage container 7 that is provided below the water receiving tray 6.

The box 2 forms a polishing work space 3 into which the workpiece W, polishing machine P, etc. are inserted to perform polishing and other operations. The box 2 is a box-shaped member having a roughly rectangular parallelepiped shape. The front, side, back, and top sides of the box 2 are formed from a top cover member 4, and the bottom side of the box 2 is formed from a water receiving tray 6.

The box 2 is provided above the support stand 8, and the box 2 has work openings 14, 15 through which the worker inserts his or her hands to hold the workpiece W, the grinder P, etc.

The water-using polishing box 1 is characterized by the ability to spray cleaning water into the box 2 during polishing and other operations. The box 2 catches polishing debris and the like that scatters from the workpiece W, and also catches the cleaning water that is sprayed into the polishing work space 3 during processing, preventing the polishing debris and the like from scattering to the outside. In addition, the box 2 can prevent the workpiece W from flying out to the outside if it comes off the worker's fingers during polishing and other operations.

The water tray 6 is a roughly box-shaped member with an open top and a roughly rectangular parallelepiped shape, and is made of, for example, stainless steel. The water tray 6 is placed on top of the support base 8, and the top cover member 4 is placed on top of the water tray 6. The water tray 6 receives the cleaning water that is sprayed and scattered inside the box 2 during processing.

The water storage container 7 is a container for storing cleaning water, and is provided below the water tray 6 of the box 2. It may be a container made of synthetic resin such as polyethylene or polypropylene. The water storage container 7 is supported removably on a support stand 8 that supports the box 2. The cleaning water sprayed inside the box 2 flows through the water tray 6 into the water storage container 7 and is stored inside the water storage container 7. The water storage container 7 may be connected to the water tray 6 of the box 2 via a drain pipe (not shown) through which water can flow.

The support base 8 is a member that supports the box 2 and the water storage container 7, and may be, for example, a movable wagon having a roughly rectangular parallelepiped shape. Vertically extending pillars 30 are provided at roughly the center or at the four corners of the support base 8. The pillars 30 may be fixed by horizontally extending cross bars 31 or other cross bars not shown.

The support pillars 30 and the cross bars 31 that support them are, for example, metal pipes, square columns, angle iron, etc. Also, the support pillars 30 and the cross bars 31 may be formed as one continuous member by bending a single rod-shaped member.

The support base 8 is provided with shelf members 32, 33, and 34 supported by supports 30. The shelf members 32, 33, and 34 are, for example, plate-shaped, box-shaped, or cage-shaped members made of steel plate. The shelf members 32, 33, and 34 may be provided so that their height positions can be freely changed.

The water tray 6 is placed on the top surface of the top shelf member 32. Because the shelf member 32 is arranged so that its vertical position can be freely changed, the vertical position of the water tray 6, i.e., the vertical position of the box 2, can be freely changed.

A water storage container 7 is removably placed on shelf member 33 below shelf member 32. With this configuration, the water storage container 7 that has accumulated cleaning water during polishing or other work can be removed and the cleaning water can be discarded. It is also possible to replace a used water storage container 7 with a new water storage container 7, and this operation is easy. The water storage container 7 may be placed on the lowest shelf member 34 and connected to the water receiving tray 6 via a drain pipe (not shown).

At the lower end of the support 30, wheels 36 are provided to support the support base 8 so that it can be moved freely. The wheels 36 are, for example, casters having rubber wheels or the like. The wheels 36 may be swivel wheels whose direction can be changed, or may be a combination of fixed wheels and swivel wheels that can move in one specified direction. Providing the wheels 36 makes it easier to move the water-use polishing box 1, improving the work efficiency of polishing, etc.

The wet polishing box 1 can also be configured with a lighter box 2 and support base 8 for portability. For example, a user such as a dentist can load the wet polishing box 1 into a car and transport it outside the hospital for house calls, etc.

The wet polishing box 1 may be provided with a storage battery (not shown). The storage battery may be placed, for example, on the top of the shelf members 33, 34 of the support stand 8 and used as a power source for the polishing machine P or the LED light source 24 described below. This allows polishing and other work to be performed using the wet polishing box 1 even in places where commercial power is not available.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing the front, right side and top of the box 2 of the wet polishing box 1. FIG.
2, the box 2 is formed of a water receiving tray 6, an upper cover member 4 attached above the water receiving tray 6, and a support member 5 that supports the periphery of the upper cover member 4, and has a hollow, generally rectangular parallelepiped shape. Inside the box 2, a polishing work space 3 surrounded by the water receiving tray 6 and the upper cover member 4 is formed.

The top cover member 4 is a roughly box-shaped member with an open bottom that is in the shape of a roughly rectangular parallelepiped, and is attached to the inside of the water receiving tray 6. The top cover member 4 has work openings 14, 15 that allow the working hands to be inserted into the polishing work space 3. In more detail, the top cover member 4 has a front cover member 10 in which the work openings 14, 15 are formed, and a rear cover member 18 that is provided behind the front cover member 10.

The work opening 14 formed in the front cover member 10 is a first work opening into which the worker can insert his/her left hand to hold the workpiece W (see FIG. 6), and is formed, for example, in a substantially circular shape.

The work opening 15 is a second work opening into which the operator can insert his/her right hand to hold the grinder P (see FIG. 6). The work opening 15 is larger than the work opening 14, and is a generally rectangular opening that extends beyond the vicinity of the right side edge and the vicinity of the top edge of the front surface 11 of the front cover member 10 and continues to the side surface 12 and the top surface 13.

By forming the work opening 15 in this manner, the worker can easily insert the grinder P through the work opening 15, which is continuous with the front surface 11, side surface 12, and top surface 13.

In addition, the worker can accurately see the part of the workpiece W being processed by the grinding machine P or the like through the working opening 15. This makes it easier to move the hands performing the processing, facilitating the operation of the grinding machine P or the like, and also allows the worker to accurately grasp the processing state through vision, allowing for safe and highly accurate processing such as grinding.

In addition, the above-mentioned working opening 14 and working opening 15 may be formed with the left and right reversed in order to make it easier to use depending on the worker who uses the wet polishing box 1.
In addition, the work openings 14 and 15 are formed in a shape and position that makes it difficult for wash water to splash outside during work. Therefore, splashing of wash water from the work openings 14, 15 is small.

The front cover member 10 and the rear cover member 18 are formed, for example, from a synthetic resin material. In more detail, the front surface 11 and the top surface 13 of the front cover member 10 and the top surface 21 of the rear cover member 18 are formed from a transparent material that allows the inside of the polishing work space 3 to be visually observed. In other words, the front surface 11 and the top surfaces 13, 21 of the top cover member 4 are formed from a transparent material.
This allows the worker to accurately see the area of the workpiece W being machined by the grinder P or the like through the transparent front portion 11 and top portions 13, 21 of the top cover member 4.

On the other hand, the left and right side portions 12 of the front cover member 10, and the back portion 19 and left and right side portions 20 of the back cover member 18 are made of opaque materials that shield the polishing work space 3 from being seen from the outside. In other words, the back portion 19 and both side portions 12, 20 of the top cover member 4 are made of opaque materials.

This prevents light from passing through the polishing work space 3 from indoor lighting, making it difficult to visually check the polishing status of the workpiece W. In other words, the processing status of the workpiece W can be accurately grasped, enabling safe and high-quality polishing and other processing.

An LED light source 24 that illuminates the polishing work space 3 is provided on the upper surface 21 of the rear cover member 18. The LED light source 24 is provided in a position that is not dazzling to the worker while working and allows the worker to easily see the workpiece W. In other words, by irradiating the polishing work space 3 with light from the LED light source 24, the polishing location of the workpiece W becomes easily visible, and the worker can accurately grasp the polishing status of the workpiece W by visual inspection. This allows for high-precision and high-quality polishing and other processing.

If the wet polishing box 1 is provided with a storage battery (not shown), the storage battery can be used as a power source for the LED light source 24. The LED light source 24 can also be connected to a personal computer or its peripheral devices via an interface such as a USB (Universal Serial Bus) and can be powered by these devices.

A support member 5 that supports the periphery of the top cover member 4 is provided inside the water receiving tray 6. The support member 5 surrounds the periphery of the top cover member 4, supports the top cover member 4, and closes the opening of the water receiving tray 6 around the periphery of the top cover member 4.

FIG. 3 is an exploded perspective view showing the box 2 and its surroundings of the wet polishing box 1. As shown in FIG.
2 and 3, the support member 5 is formed, for example, from a synthetic resin plate or the like, has four wall portions erected on the bottom portion 27 of the water receiving tray 6, and has a generally rectangular parallelepiped shape as a whole. A generally horizontal flat portion 25 is formed on the upper portion of the support member 5 to surround and support the periphery of the upper cover member 4.

By providing the support member 5, the top cover member 4 can be attached in the correct position, making the work easier. In addition, during work such as polishing, the top cover member 4 is supported by the support member 5 and prevented from moving or coming off. This makes work such as polishing easier and allows the worker to work safely. In addition, work tools and other items can be placed on the flat surface portion 25, improving work efficiency.

The top cover member 4 can be separated into a front cover member 10 on the front side and a rear cover member 18 on the rear side provided behind it, and can be easily removed. Therefore, when the processing of polishing the workpiece W (see FIG. 6) is completed, the top cover member 4 can be separated into the front cover member 10 and the rear cover member 18 and removed, allowing the inside of the polishing work space 3 to be thoroughly cleaned.

That is, the front cover member 10, rear cover member 18, and support member 5 can be removed from the water tray 6, and dust and other particles adhering to the inner surfaces of the front cover member 10, rear cover member 18, and water tray 6 can be washed away or dirt can be wiped off. The support member 5 can also be thoroughly washed.

The wet polishing box 1 is constructed so that the box 2 can be separated into small components: the front cover member 10, the rear cover member 18, the support member 5, and the water tray 6, so cleaning and other tasks are less of a burden. The wet polishing box 1 is easy to handle, even for people with weak strength, such as women.

FIG. 4 is an exploded side view showing a schematic diagram of the front cover member 10 and the rear cover member 18 of the wet polishing box 1. As shown in FIG.
4, the front cover member 10 has protrusions 16 that protrude outward from the left and right side surface portions 12. The protrusions 16 are, for example, plate-shaped members made of synthetic resin, and are bonded to the side surface portions 12, for example.

The left and right side surfaces 20 of the rear cover member 18 are formed with hook-shaped engagement portions 22 that engage with the protrusions 16 of the front cover member 10. The engagement portions 22 are formed by cutting into the front edge of the side surfaces 20, and are formed in a recessed shape that is open downward so that they can be fitted onto the protrusions 16 from above.

The front cover member 10 has a protrusion 16, and the rear cover member 18 has an engagement portion 22 that engages with the protrusion 16, making it possible to easily and accurately assemble the top cover member 4. Specifically, referring to FIG. 3, the front cover member 10 is placed on top of the water tray 6 to which the support member 5 is attached, and then the rear cover member 18 is attached from above by engaging the engagement portion 22 with the protrusion 16 of the front cover member 10.

In addition, the engagement portion 22 of the rear cover member 18 engages with the protrusion 16 of the front cover member 10, preventing the front cover member 10 and the rear cover member 18 from coming off during polishing or other work. This allows for safe polishing and other work to be performed.

FIG. 5 is an exploded front view showing a schematic view of the box 2 and its surroundings in the wet polishing box 1. As shown in FIG.
5, the water tray 6 is placed on the upper surface of the shelf member 32 of the support stand 8, and the support member 5 is provided above the water tray 6. The support member 5 is removably placed on the upper part of the bottom surface portion 27 inside the peripheral wall portion 26 of the water tray 6. In other words, the support member 5 is surrounded by the peripheral wall portion 26 of the water tray 6 during processing such as polishing.

The top cover member 4 is inserted inside the support member 5. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 3, the front cover member 10 and the rear cover member 18 are fitted inside the support member 5 and are placed removably on top of the bottom surface portion 27 of the water tray 6. As mentioned above, the top of the support member 5 has a flat surface portion 25 formed thereon that surrounds the periphery of the top cover member 4.

This configuration makes it possible to prevent the cleaning water that is sprayed into the box 2 to wash away polishing debris, etc., from leaking out from the connection between the top cover member 4 and the water receiving tray 6, or the connection between the water receiving tray 6 and the support member 5.

In addition, the front cover member 10, rear cover member 18, water receiving tray 6, and support member 5 are removable, so they can be separated and removed after removing dust during grinding or other work, allowing the inside of the grinding work space 3 to be thoroughly cleaned. In other words, grinding debris and the like adhering to the top cover member 4 and water receiving tray 6 can be easily washed away.

As shown in FIG. 5, the bottom surface 27 of the water receiving tray 6 is formed with a drain tube 28 to which the water supply port of the water storage container 7 is connected. The drain tube 28 is an opening through which cleaning water flows, and has a generally spherical crown or conical funnel shape that protrudes downward from the bottom surface 27. The drain tube 28 is arranged so that the large diameter part is at the top and the small diameter part is at the bottom, and the lower end of the small diameter part is inserted into the water supply port of the water storage container 7.

The shelf member 32 of the support base 8 is formed with a drain pipe hole 35 through which the drain tube portion 28 can be inserted. The water receiving tray 6 is removably placed above the shelf member 32 so that the drain tube portion 28 is inserted into the drain pipe hole 35 and the lower surface of the bottom portion 27 abuts against the upper surface of the shelf member 32.

In this way, the drain tube portion 28 of the water receiving tray 6 protrudes downward and is inserted into the water supply port of the water storage container 7, which prevents cleaning water and other liquids flowing out of the water receiving tray 6 from leaking to the outside.

A net 29 for catching the abrasive debris flowing down may be provided in the flow path of the drain tube portion 28. The net 29 is, for example, a mesh-like member made of stainless steel wire or the like, and is removably attached from above the drain tube portion 28 into the flow path of the drain tube portion 28.

In this way, by providing a removable net 29 that captures polishing debris, etc., the polishing debris can be separated and removed from the cleaning water. This also makes cleaning after polishing and other operations easier.

FIG. 6 is a perspective view of the box 2 and its surroundings, showing the wet polishing box 1 in use.
As shown in Figure 6, the worker can insert his hands holding the workpiece W and the grinding machine P, etc. into the grinding work space 3 in the box 2 through the work openings 14, 15, and perform processing such as grinding while visually checking the part to be processed through the work opening 15.

This allows the worker to easily move his or her hands while performing the processing, facilitating the operation of the grinding machine P and other machines, while also allowing the worker to accurately grasp the processing state, enabling safe and highly accurate processing such as grinding to be performed.

1 to 6, operations such as polishing using the wet polishing box 1 will be described in detail.
The worker inserts his hand holding a workpiece W such as a denture to be processed through the work opening 14, and his hand holding a grinder P such as a handpiece through the work opening 15 into the grinding work space 3 inside the box 2. Then, the worker can perform processing such as grinding the workpiece W while spraying cleaning water from the grinder P or the like.

In other words, with the water-using polishing box 1, the worker can work while spraying cleaning water from the polishing machine P, etc., during polishing or other operations, without having to stop spraying cleaning water from the polishing machine P, etc., as is the case with conventional dental dust collectors that use air flow.

According to the water-using polishing box 1, cleaning water is sprayed from the polishing machine P, etc., and the cleaning water can capture and sweep away polishing debris and the like that scatters from the processed part of the workpiece W. In addition, the cleaning water that scatters from the workpiece W to the surrounding area together with dust and the like hits the inner circumference of the box 2 and is swept away downward.

The polishing box 1 using water has a water tray 6 and a water storage container 7, so the cleaning water that flows downward along with the dust and other particles is received by the water tray 6 and flows into the water storage container 7, where it is stored. This makes it possible to prevent dust generated from the workpiece W during polishing and other operations from scattering into the room.

In addition, the water-using polishing box 1 can spray cleaning water onto the workpiece W during polishing or other processing, cooling the processed part of the workpiece W and preventing the workpiece W from becoming too hot due to friction. This makes it possible to perform high-precision, high-quality polishing and other processing without damage caused by heat.

In addition, in an environment where water cannot be used, the wet polishing box 1 may be used without spraying cleaning water. In an environment where water cannot be used, for example, a suction device (not shown) may be connected to the box 2 and used.

As mentioned above, the front surface 11 and top surface portions 13 and 21 of the top cover member 4 are made of transparent materials. This allows the worker performing the grinding or other work to see inside the grinding work space 3 while working. Furthermore, the work opening 15 allows the worker to see inside the grinding work space 3 more clearly without the view being obstructed by the adhesion of cleaning water or dust, etc.

Furthermore, an LED light source 24 that illuminates the polishing work space 3 is provided on the top surface 21 of the rear cover member 18, making it even easier to see the polishing area of the workpiece W. This allows the worker to accurately grasp the work situation and safely perform polishing and other tasks with high precision and quality.

The present invention is not limited to the above embodiment. For example, the box 2 of the water-using polishing box 1 may be formed in a substantially cylindrical shape. That is, the water receiving tray 6 of the box 2 and the top cover member 4 above it may each be formed in a substantially circular cup shape, and the support member 5 supporting the top cover member 4 may be formed in a substantially cylindrical shape. By forming the box 2 in a substantially cylindrical shape in this way, there are no vertically extending corners on the inner surface of the box 2, so that the residue of polishing debris adhering to the inner surface can be reduced.

The top cover member 4 of the box 2 may also be in a generally dome-shaped form with the center protruding upward. By adopting a top cover member 4 in this form, the center of the polishing work space 3 becomes wider, making polishing and other work easier.

In addition, cleaning water sprayed upward from the grinding machine P, etc., and grinding debris from the workpiece W, etc., are easily swept downward even if they collide with and adhere to the upper surface of the upper cover member 4, which is formed in an approximately dome shape. Therefore, grinding debris, etc., are less likely to adhere to the inner surface of the upper cover member 4, and are swept to the bottom of the box 2 and sent to the water storage container 7 via the water receiving tray 6.

For example, a hinge mechanism (not shown) may be used as a support, and the vicinity of the rear edge of the top surface 13 of the front cover member 10 may be rotatably supported by the vicinity of the front edge of the top surface 21 of the rear cover member 18, so that the front cover member 10 is supported so as to be freely opened and closed. In this way, the inside of the box 2 can be easily cleaned by rotating and opening the front cover member 10.

For example, a hinge mechanism (not shown) may be used as a support, and the vicinity of the lower edge of the back surface 19 of the rear cover member 18 may be rotatably supported near the upper edge of the bottom surface 27 at the rear of the water tray 6, so that the rear cover member 18 is supported so as to be freely opened and closed. In this way, the interior of the box 2 can be easily cleaned by rotating the rear cover member 18 to open the top cover member 4.
