Description

The present invention relates to a music box device that uses a decorated container.

Decorated containers are used as containers for cosmetics, ornaments, sweets, and other contents. Once they have completed their role as containers, decorated containers are often discarded. However, some decorated containers are valuable as containers themselves due to their design or decoration, some are associated with memories of the owner, and some are meaningful as souvenirs. Such decorated containers may continue to be stored even after the contents have been used and they become emptied.

On the other hand, music box devices with a high-end feel are being sold that incorporate a cylinder music box movement into a jewelry box or the like. In order to make it easier to attach the music box movement to the jewelry box, it has been proposed to screw the music box movement into an aluminum case with a bottom, and place the case in a designated storage chamber inside the jewelry box (Patent Document 1).

If a music box movement for a cylinder music box can be installed in a decorated container that has been emptied after its original contents have been used, this is desirable from the standpoint of recycling, as the empty container with its excellent design and decoration can be reused as a music box device, and also because it gives new value to empty containers that have been kept as keepsakes or souvenirs, in the form of a music box device. Furthermore, such music box devices can also be useful as gifts that connect generations, for example, by giving parents' memorable items to their children or grandchildren.

However, it is not easy to beautifully and rattle-free assemble a music box movement for a cylinder music box into a decorative container that was not originally intended to be used in a music box device, with an assembly operation that even an amateur can easily perform. In other words, such decorative containers do not have a storage compartment for the music box movement that would allow the music box movement of a cylinder music box to be placed there without rattle, so the use of adhesive is considered as a method of fixing the music box movement to the decorative container without rattle. However, if you try to fix the music box movement to the decorative container using adhesive alone, there are problems such as the adhesive overflowing or being exposed due to a misalignment of the mounting position, which mars the aesthetic appearance, and the sticky adhesive attracting new dirt, and there is also the problem that the adhesive is prone to deterioration over time and therefore the fixation is incomplete.

In addition, ready-made music box movements generally have multiple screw holes for fastening so that the music box movement can be fixed to any mounting member, and it is conceivable to use these screw holes to screw the decorative container and music box movement together. However, decorative containers that are not originally intended to be used as music box devices do not have such screw holes. This makes it necessary to drill new screw holes, but ordinary people must prepare tools to drill screw holes in decorative containers, and even if such tools are available, the decorative container may crack or chip.

In response to these problems, the objective of the present invention is to provide a music box device that allows an existing music box movement to be easily installed without rattle into a decorative container that has been emptied after its original contents have been used.

The inventor came up with the idea that by using an attachment part into which the music box movement can be fitted and which can be fitted into the decorated container, and by providing this attachment part with a rib to prevent rattling, the music box movement can be easily incorporated into the decorated container, and that by using a base cosmetic container with a through hole in the bottom as the decorated container, the music box movement can be fixed to the decorated container by inserting a fastener into the through hole in the bottom, and thus completed the present invention.

That is, the first invention is a music box device that includes a decorative container, a music box movement of a cylinder music box, and an attachment part for attaching the music box movement to the inside of the decorative container, the attachment part having a music box movement fitting portion into which the music box movement fits, an outer shape that fits into the inside of the decorative container, and a rib for preventing rattling on the inner or outer peripheral surface of the attachment part.

The second invention is a music box device having a decorative container and a music box movement of a cylinder music box, in which the decorative container is a base cosmetic container having a through hole at the bottom, and the decorative container and the music box movement are fixed by a fixing device inserted into the through hole.

The third invention is a music box device having a decorative container and a music box movement of a cylinder music box, in which the decorative container is a base cosmetic container having a through hole in the bottom, the music box movement has a winding screw shaft protruding from the bottom, the shaft is inserted into the through hole in the bottom of the decorative container, and a knob nut is screwed onto the shaft from the outside of the decorative container.

The fourth invention is an attachment part used in the music box device of the first invention, which has a music box movement fitting portion into which the music box movement fits, has an outer shape that fits into the interior of the decorative container, and has ribs on the periphery of the attachment part to prevent rattling.

The fifth invention is a decorative container for a cosmetic container having a through hole at the bottom, which is used in the music box device of the second invention, and in which a hole is drilled at the position of the through hole at the bottom so that the music box movement of a cylinder music box can be installed inside the decorative container.

The sixth invention is a method for reusing original cosmetic containers, in which an original cosmetic container is used as a decorative container and a music box movement of a cylinder music box is installed inside the original cosmetic container to create a music box device, and attachment parts are used to install the music box movement inside the original cosmetic container, and the attachment parts have an outer shape that fits inside the original cosmetic container.

The seventh invention is a method for reusing original cosmetic containers, in which an original cosmetic container is used as a decorative container and a music box movement of a cylinder music box is installed inside the original cosmetic container to create a music box device. The original cosmetic container has a through hole at the bottom, and a ready-made music box movement with a screw hole is used as the music box movement. The through hole of the original cosmetic container is aligned with the screw hole of the music box movement, and the original cosmetic container and the music box movement are fixed with a fixing device.

The eighth invention provides a method for reusing an original cosmetic container, in which an original cosmetic container is used as a decorative container and a music box movement of a cylinder music box is incorporated inside the original cosmetic container to create a music box device, in which the original cosmetic container has a through hole at the bottom, the music box movement has a winding screw shaft protruding from the bottom, the music box movement is placed on the original cosmetic container so that the winding screw shaft of the music box movement is inserted into the through hole of the original cosmetic container, and a knob nut is screwed onto the winding screw shaft from the outside of the original cosmetic container.

The music box device of the present invention can be made by simple assembly operations using a decorated container, such as a former cosmetic container, that has been emptied of its original contents, and a music box movement from a cylinder music box.

In particular, the music box device of the present invention uses mounting parts with anti-rattle ribs, so the music box movement can be fixed to the decorative container without rattle, even without using screws or adhesives.

In addition, in the music box device of the present invention, which uses an original cosmetic container as a decorative container, the music box movement can be incorporated into the original cosmetic container with a simple installation procedure by using an attachment part with an outer shape that fits inside the original cosmetic container, or by using an original cosmetic container with a through hole in its bottom and attaching the music box movement using the through hole.

Furthermore, in these music box devices, ready-made music box movements can be used as they are as the music box movements. Therefore, according to the present invention, decorated containers that were previously discarded or simply stored can be given value as music box devices by using easily available music box movements, making it possible to reuse empty containers such as former cosmetic containers. In addition, because this music box device has the appearance of a decorated container, it is suitable as a gift, and is useful as a gift that connects generations, for example, by giving a decorated container that a parent loved or has sentimental attachment to a child or grandchild.

The present invention will now be described in detail with reference to the drawings. Note that the same reference numerals in each drawing represent the same or equivalent components.

<Music box device that requires attachment parts>
The music box device of the present invention can be broadly divided into those that require attachment parts for attaching the music box movement to the decorated container, and those that do not require attachment parts.

Figures 1A and 1B are explanatory diagrams of a method for assembling a music box device 1A according to one embodiment in which mounting parts are essential, and Figure 2A is a perspective view of the music box device 1A after assembly with the lid 16 open, and Figure 2B is a perspective view of the music box device with the lid 16 closed.

The music box device 1A of this embodiment includes a decorative container 10A, a music box movement 20A of a cylinder music box, and an attachment part 30 for attaching the music box movement 20A to the inside of the decorative container 10A.

(Decorated containers)
In the present invention, a decorated container is a container that has beauty, and the outer shape, color, pattern, decoration, etc. are arbitrary. The decorated container of the present invention is preferably a secondary reuse of a container that has contained contents. For example, a decorated container may be a former cosmetic container that was originally used as a cosmetic container. It may also be a container that was used as a container for sweets, decorations, etc.

There are no particular limitations on the materials used to form the decorated container, and examples include plastic, wood, metal, etc.

As the decorated container, a container with an opening area and depth that can accommodate the music box movement of a cylinder music box is used. Therefore, as the decorated container, a container with an internal depth of 15 mm or more is preferable, and a container with an internal depth of 25 mm or more is more preferable, and as the original cosmetic container, a compact type container, a jar type container, etc. can be used.

As shown in FIG. 1B, in the music box device 1A of this embodiment, a compact-type original cosmetic container is used as the decorative container 10A. This original cosmetic container is of a type in which a cosmetic refill is attached to the container body 15, and a lid 16 is attached to the container body 15 by a hinge. The container body 15 may also be of a type in which a refill is fitted.

Through holes 11 are formed in the corners of the bottom 17 of the decorative container 10A as holes for removing cosmetic refills or air holes. When an original cosmetic container having through holes 11 in this way is used as the decorative container 10A, it is preferable because the through holes 11 in the bottom 17 can be used to align the mounting parts 30 with the decorative container 10A, to prevent the mounting parts from rattling, and to reinforce the rotation of the music box movement against the container body.

In addition, FIG. 1B shows an example in which one pin hole is provided as the through hole 11, but in the present invention, the through hole in the bottom of the decorative container is not limited to one, and multiple through holes may be provided. Furthermore, the through hole 11 is not limited to a pin hole, and may be an I-shaped hole like a coin insertion slot, or the bottom of the decorative container may open over a wide area. Furthermore, when the through hole 11 is used for attaching the mounting part 30 described later or for attaching the winding screw shaft 21 of the bottom screw type music box movement 20B, it is preferable that the through hole 11 is offset from the center of the bottom of the decorative container from the viewpoint of preventing rattling or rotation.

(Music box movement)
In the present invention, a cylinder music box movement is used as the music box movement. As for the types of music boxes, in addition to cylinder music boxes, disk music boxes, IC music boxes, etc. are also known, but cylinder music boxes are preferable because they can be made smaller than disk music boxes, and because they have a more luxurious feel than IC music boxes.

There are no particular restrictions on the number of vibrating valves of the cylinder music box or the protruding direction of the winding screw, and these can be selected appropriately depending on the shape of the decorative container. In this embodiment, a ready-made music box movement of the top screw type with the winding screw axis 21 protruding upward, which is commonly used in jewelry boxes, is used as is as the music box movement 20A. Generally, the external size of a cylinder music box changes depending on the number of vibrating valves, so it is preferable to determine the number of vibrating valves depending on the size of the cylinder music box that can be housed in the decorative container. In this embodiment, an 18-valve music box movement 20A is used.

A knob 23 is screwed onto the axis 21 of the winding screw of the music box movement 20A. Since the music box movement 20A is a ready-made product, a screw hole 24 is provided in the frame 25 for attaching the music box movement 20A to a general attachment object such as a jewelry box or a toy box. In FIG. 1A, the reference numeral 26 denotes a cylinder with a pin that pops the vibration valve 22, the reference numeral 27 denotes a barrel that houses a spring that serves as a power source for rotating the cylinder, the reference numeral 28 denotes a governor that adjusts the speed of the return of the spring, and the reference numeral 29 denotes a stopper that stops the rotation of the cylinder 26. In the music box device 1A of this embodiment, the stopper 29 does not act on the cylinder 26 when the lid 16 is open, and is pressed down when the lid 16 is closed to stop the rotation of the cylinder 26. The music box movement used in the present invention does not need to have a stopper. Without the stopper 29, the music box movement will play music until the spring rewinds, regardless of whether the lid 16 is open or closed.

(Mounting parts)
Fig. 3A is a perspective view of the mounting part 30 shown in Fig. 1A as viewed from the top surface 35 side, and Fig. 3B is a perspective view as viewed from the bottom surface side. Here, the top surface 35 of the mounting part 30 is the surface located on the lid 16 side of the decorative container 10A when the mounting part 30 is attached to the decorative container 10A as shown in Fig. 2A, and is also the surface covering the top surface of the music box movement 20A (the surface of the music box movement 20A on the side where the cylinder 26 and the like are attached to the frame 25). The bottom surface of the mounting part 30 is the surface located on the bottom 17 side of the decorative container 10A.

As shown in FIG. 3B, the mounting part 30 has a music box movement fitting portion 31 into which the music box movement 20A fits, and has an outer shape that fits inside the decorative container 10A. More specifically, the mounting part 30 has an opening 32 on its underside into which the music box movement 20A fits. Therefore, the music box movement 20A is inserted from the underside of the mounting part 30, and the underside of the music box movement 20A fitted into the music box movement fitting portion 31 comes into contact with the decorative container 10A. This allows the thickness of the bottom of the mounting part 30 to be thinner than when the mounting part 30 has a bottomed shape, so that the music box movement can be attached to the decorative container even if the interior height of the decorative container 10A is not sufficient for the height of the music box movement 20A.

Some decorative containers have a large hole in the center of the bottom surface. When using such a decorative container, it is preferable to leave no opening on the bottom surface of the mounting part, but to provide an opening on the top surface and insert the music box movement through the opening on the top surface.

The mounting part 30 has a pair of lower flanges 34 extending in opposite directions from the opening 32 at the lower end of the peripheral wall 33 surrounding the insertion portion 31, and the pair of lower flanges 34 forming the longitudinal direction of the lower surface of the mounting part 30 and the lower flange 34 side portion of the peripheral wall 33 are formed so as to abut or be close to the inner wall 12 of the decorated container 10A.

The mounting part 30 has a top surface 35 that covers the top surface of the music box movement 20A. The top surface 35 of the mounting part 30 is formed with an axle hole 36 through which the axle 21 of the winding screw of the music box movement 20A protrudes, and a stopper hole 37 through which the stopper 29 protrudes.

The upper surface 35 also has an upper flange 38 that protrudes horizontally from the position where the peripheral wall 33 is formed, and a narrow upper narrow portion 39. The edge of the upper narrow portion 39 forms the upper side of the peripheral wall 33, and the upper flange 38 that forms the longitudinal direction of the upper surface 35 abuts or is close to the inner wall 12 of the decorated container 10A. The protruding direction of the upper flange that forms the longitudinal direction of the upper surface 35 and the protruding direction of the lower flange 34 that forms the longitudinal direction of the lower surface intersect with each other, making it possible to reduce the weight of the mounting part 30 and prevent rattling of the mounting part 30 compared to when the entire peripheral surface of the mounting part 30 abuts against the inner wall 12 of the decorated container 10A.

In this embodiment, the mounting part 30 has an upper surface 35 that covers the upper surface of the music box movement 20A, but in the present invention, the mounting part 30 may be cylindrical with openings on both the top and bottom. Also, if the winding screw of the music box movement to be fitted into the mounting part protrudes from the side of the music box movement, the upper flange 38 may be omitted.

When the mounting part 30 is attached to the decorative container 10A, a gap 40 is formed between the upper narrow portion 39 of the upper part of the mounting part 30 and the inner wall 12 of the decorative container 10A, allowing the mounting part 30 to be pinched with fingers (Figure 2A). This makes it easy to pinch the upper narrow portion 39 of the mounting part 30 with your fingers after the music box movement 20A is fitted into the mounting part 30, and to fit the mounting part 30 into the decorative container 10A or to pinch it out of the decorative container 10A. It also makes it possible to use the gap 40 as a small item holder.

In the present invention, the inner peripheral surface of the mounting part 30, i.e., the peripheral surface of the music box movement insertion portion 31, is provided with a rattle prevention rib 41 to prevent rattle between the music box movement 20A and the mounting part 30, or the outer peripheral surface of the mounting part 30 is provided with a rattle prevention rib 42 to prevent rattle between the decorative container 10A and the mounting part 30, and preferably both rattle prevention ribs 41, 42 are provided. As shown in Figures 3A and 3B, the mounting part 30 in this embodiment has ribs 42a, 42b, and 42c on the outer peripheral surface to prevent rattle between the decorative container 10A and the mounting part 30, and a rib 41 on the inner peripheral surface to prevent rattle between the music box movement 20A and the mounting part 30.

The ribs 42 that prevent the rattle between the decorative container 10A and the mounting part 30 include ribs 42a formed on the circumferential surface of the lower flange 34, ribs 42b formed on the circumferential surface of the upper flange 38, and ribs 42c formed on the peripheral wall 33. Of these, the ribs 42a on the peripheral surface of the lower flange 34 are preferably formed on the lower flange 34 where the protrusion 43 is not formed, when the protrusion 43 is provided on the lower flange 34 as described below. This allows the peripheral surface of the lower flange 34 on the side where the protrusion 43 is formed to shift slightly relative to the inner wall 12 of the decorative container 10A after the mounting part 30 is attached to the decorative container 10A, making it easier to fit the protrusion 43 into the through hole 11 of the decorative container 10A as described below, and also reducing the stress on the protrusion 43 associated with this fit.

On the other hand, it is preferable that the ribs 42b on the peripheral surface of the upper flange 38 are provided in equal numbers on each of the pair of opposing upper flanges 38, and in this embodiment, one rib 42b is formed on each upper flange 38. It is also preferable that the ribs 42c on the peripheral wall 33 are provided in equal numbers on both sides of the upper flange 38 when viewed from above the attachment part 30, and in this embodiment, two ribs 42c are formed on each of the peripheral walls 33 on both sides of the upper flange 38 when viewed from above. It is preferable to adjust the spacing between adjacent ribs so that the force applied to each rib is equal to fix the attachment part 30 to the decorated container 10A.

The rib 42c formed on the peripheral wall 33 is formed in a line from the upper end to the lower end of the peripheral wall 33 that stands vertically on the underside of the mounting part 30. On the other hand, the inner wall 12 of the decorative container 10A is curved or inclined so that its inner diameter is smaller on the bottom side than on the opening side of the decorative container 10A. Therefore, the bottom side portion of the linear rib 42c formed on the peripheral wall 33 presses the inner wall 12 of the decorative container 10A, preventing rattling between the inner wall 12 and the mounting part 30. In this way, by providing the rib 42c in a line from the upper end to the lower end of the peripheral wall 33, rattling can be easily prevented even if the inner wall 12 of the decorative container 10A is curved, and it is also preferable because it makes it easier to mold the mounting part 30 compared to when the rib 42c is provided only near the lower surface of the mounting part 30.

The protruding height h1 of these rattle prevention ribs 42a, 42b, and 42c is preferably formed so that the overlap between these prevention ribs 42a, 42b, and 42c and the inner wall 12 is 0.2 to 0.5 mm from the standpoint of appearance and fitting adjustment.

In addition, as ribs 41 to prevent rattling between music box movement 10A and mounting part 30, multiple ribs 41 are provided on the inner peripheral surface of music box movement fitting portion 31 of mounting part 30 near the fitting position of barrel 27. These ribs 41 abut against frame 25 of music box movement 10A. In addition, since barrel 27 occupies almost the entire area from the bottom end to the top end of music box movement 20A, the ribs 41 may be formed so that they abut against barrel 27. In addition, from the viewpoint of fitting adjustment, it is preferable that the protruding height h2 of ribs 41 is formed so that the overlap between rib 41 and frame 25 or barrel 27 is 0.2 to 0.5 mm.

In the present invention, it is not necessarily necessary to provide all of the above-mentioned ribs 41 and 42 as rattle prevention ribs. The rattle prevention ribs are formed according to the internal shape of the decorative container 10A and the external shape of the music box movement 20A, etc.

The lower flange 34 of the mounting part 30 is provided with a protrusion 43 that fits into the through hole 11 of the decorative container 10A, and a protrusion 44 that fits into the screw hole 24 of the ready-made music box movement 20A is provided near the inner circumferential surface of the fitting part 31. These protrusions 43, 44 also prevent rattling between the mounting part 30 and the music box movement 20A.

Furthermore, the mounting part 30 is formed with a slit 45 for pressing in the music box movement. The press-in slit 45 is formed from the bottom end of the peripheral wall 33 to the top end of the music box movement 20A. The press-in slit 45 is preferably formed at an opposing position on the peripheral wall 33, and when the bottom surface of the peripheral wall is roughly rectangular, it is preferable to form the slit so that it passes through the center of the short side, in order to take advantage of the flexibility of the mounting part 30.

The material for forming the mounting part 30 is preferably a transparent resin from the viewpoints of making the music box movement 20A look beautiful, the ease of fitting the music box movement 20A into the mounting part 30, and the ease of fitting the mounting part 30 with the music box movement 20A fitted in it to the decorated container 10A. From the viewpoints of moldability and transparency for making the music box movement 20A look beautiful, examples of suitable materials include PET, PCT, MS resin (methyl methacrylate-styrene copolymer resin), acrylic resin, polycarbonate resin, etc. The mounting part 30 can also be created using a 3D printer or by one-piece molding.

The attachment parts 30 to be incorporated into the decorative container, which is the original cosmetic container, may be manufactured by a company that manufactures and sells cosmetics and provided to cosmetic users, in order to promote the reuse of the original cosmetic container.

(How to attach a music box movement to a decorative container)
1A, the music box movement 20A is attached using the mounting part 30 by first removing the knob 23 from the music box movement 20A, aligning the winding screw shaft 21 and stopper 29 of the music box movement 20A with the shaft hole 36 and stopper hole 37 of the mounting part 30, respectively, and fitting the music box movement 20A into the music box movement fitting part 31 through the opening 32 of the mounting part 30. Then, the knob 23 is screwed onto the winding screw shaft 21. During this fitting, the music box movement 20A is held in the mounting part 30 without rattling due to the action of the rattle prevention rib 41 and the press-fitting slit 45.

Next, as shown in FIG. 1B, the mounting part 30 with the music box movement 20A fitted inside is fitted into the interior of the decorative container 10A. At this time, the protrusion 43 of the mounting part 30 is inserted into the through hole 11 of the decorative container 10A. In this fitting, the mounting part 30 is held without rattle on the inner wall 12 of the decorative container 10A by the action of the upper flange 38 and the rib 42b formed thereon, the lower flange 34 and the rib 42a formed thereon, and the rib 42c formed on the peripheral wall 33, thereby obtaining the music box device 1A of the embodiment shown in FIG. 2A and FIG. 2B.

The assembly of the music box device 1A using this attachment part 30 does not require fixing with adhesives or screws, and the music box device 1A can be created by ordinary people who used the original cosmetic container with simple assembly operations. The present invention encompasses not only this music box device 1A, but also the attachment part 30 used to assemble the music box device, and a method of reusing the original cosmetic container by using the attachment part 30 to incorporate the music box movement 20 into the original cosmetic container, turning the original cosmetic container into a music box device.

In this music box device 1B, a ready-made top-screw type music box movement 20A similar to that described above and equipped with a screw hole 24 is used. As the decorative container 10B, a base cosmetic container having a through hole 11 in the bottom 17 is used, and the through hole 11 is aligned with the screw hole 24 of the music box movement 20A, and a fastener 50 is inserted thereto to fix the top-screw type music box movement 20A. As the fastener 50, a wood screw, a split pin, a bolt and nut, etc. can be used.

As mentioned above, the through hole 11 at the bottom of the original cosmetic container is provided as an outlet hole for cosmetic refills or an air hole, and there may be one or more through holes, but in this embodiment, a decorative container 10B with multiple through holes 11 is used.

When fixing the decorative container 10B and the music box movement 20A using the through hole 11 at the bottom of the decorative container 10B and the screw hole 24 provided in the music box movement 20A, the through hole 11 and the screw hole 24 may be aligned at one point and fixed, but if they can be aligned at multiple points, it is preferable to use fasteners at those multiple points, as this can stabilize the attachment state of the music box movement A to the decorative container 10B. Also, a screw hole may be drilled at the bottom of the decorative container 10B to match the position of the screw hole 24 of the music box movement 20A. It is preferable to perform this drilling at the position of the through hole originally provided in the decorative container 10B, as this makes the drilling easier.
