Note that a taper 39 as shown in FIG. 9 may be formed on the tip 36 of the positioning protrusion 35, and the taper 39 may be used to guide the circuit board 22.

The two positioning portions 47 are disposed at positions that are unlikely to affect a circuit pattern (not shown) extending from a through hole 48 of the circuit board 22. Although not specifically shown, a circuit pattern is formed in a portion of the circuit board 22 designated by reference numeral 49 (circuit pattern forming portion 49). The circuit pattern forming portion 49 is formed differently from the board waste portion 8 shown in FIG.

以上、図1ないし図10を参照しながら説明してきたように、本発明の一実施形態であるコネクタ11によれば、回路基板22の外形部44に位置決め部47が形成され、また、コネクタハウジング20の端子導出部32には位置決め凸部35が形成されることから、これら位置決め部47及び位置決め凸部35の係合により回路基板22のスルーホール48及び複数のピン形状端子21の位置が決まり、結果、回路基板22を複数のピン形状端子21に対しスムーズに差し込むことができる(別な言い方をすれば、複数のピン形状端子21を回路基板22にスムーズに差し込むことができる)。

絶縁性を有するコネクタハウジングと、導電性を有する複数のピン形状端子と、所望の回路パターンを有する回路基板とを備えたコネクタであって
前記複数のピン形状端子は、前記コネクタハウジングの端子導出部からのびる基板接続部を有するとともに、該基板接続部の先端が前記回路基板のスルーホールに差し込まれて前記回路パターンに接するように接続され、
前記回路基板は、該回路基板の外形となる外形部に位置決め部が少なくとも二箇所形成され、
前記コネクタハウジングは、前記基板接続部の前記先端よりも長く突出し且つ前記位置決め部に対して係合するような位置決め凸部が前記端子導出部の少なくとも二箇所に形成され
前記回路基板は、前記外形部が四つの角部及び四つの縁部を有する形状に形成され、且つ、一つの前記縁部の両端に配置された二つの前記角部の位置に前記位置決め部が形成され、
当該コネクタは、前記回路基板を覆い且つ前記コネクタハウジングに対して組み付けられる絶縁性のカバーを更に備え、前記端子導出部から突出する前記位置決め凸部は、前記カバーの組み付け時におけるガイド部分としても形成される
