Description

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, an embodiment of a corner piece according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. First, a basic piece will be described.

Here, "slightly longer" is intended to exclude a length that cannot maintain the connection strength described below.

As described later, the first cut 11 and the second cuts 22, 22 are fitted together to connect the pieces of fabric together. Therefore, in order to maintain the connection strength between the pieces of fabric, the lengths of the first cut 11 and the second cuts 22, 22 must be in the above range. The preferred length of the first cut 11 is ¼ to ¾ of the length of the shared side, and in particular, a length of about ½ of the length of the shared side is preferred.
Moreover, the widths of the first cut 11 and the second cuts 22, 22 depend solely on the thickness of the cloth piece 4. The first (second) cuts 11, 22 penetrate the cloth piece from the front side to the back side.

To be more specific about the length of the first cut 11 and the second cuts 22, 22, although this will depend on the material, thickness and use of the piece of fabric, if a bag is made from a piece of leather fabric that is about 1 mm thick, and the length of one side of the regular hexagon in Figure 3 is, for example, 12 mm, then the first cut 11 will be 6 mm and the second cuts 22, 22 will be 3 mm.

A regular hexagon is the optimal shape for the central portion 2. A regular hexagon allows the pieces of fabric to be connected together to form a flat surface with no gaps, allows freedom in the direction in which the pieces of fabric are connected, and is also excellent in terms of connection strength.

Even if the shape is other than a regular hexagon, a point-symmetric hexagon is preferable since it allows a plane to be formed without gaps without being restricted by the direction of connection.
Examples of point-symmetric hexagons include a regular hexagon that is flattened in one direction (a hexagon with all six sides of equal length and two types of interior angles rather than 120 degrees), a hexagon with all interior angles of 120 degrees and two types of side lengths, and a hexagon with two types of both side lengths and interior angles. However, depending on the application of the product, it is necessary to consider that the connection strength of the short connection sides of the above hexagons is weaker than that of the long connection sides.

The size of the basic cloth piece P depends largely on the properties and size of the product that will be made up of the cloth pieces, but there are no particular restrictions. For example, in the case of a regular hexagon, it is preferable that the length of each side is in the range of 6 to 900 mm.

There are no particular limitations on the shapes of the first peripheral portion 10 and the second peripheral portion 20, but in addition to the ease of manufacture and other manufacturing conditions of the cloth pieces, the design of the first (second) peripheral portion 10, 20 is taken into consideration. That is, the shape of the first (second) peripheral portion 10, 20 determines the design of the back side (and sometimes the front side) of the product made of the cloth pieces. In addition, the back side of the cloth piece is closely related to the functions of the product, such as heat retention, moisture retention, and feel, when made into clothing, so in addition to the shape, the material and thickness of the cloth piece should be determined according to the application to which the cloth piece is to be used.

In the present embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the first (second) peripheral portion 10, 20 has a triangular shape, but it can also have a rectangular, trapezoidal, semicircular, semi-elliptical, etc. When it is triangular, in addition to making it easier to connect the pieces of fabric to each other, there is also the characteristic that since the first peripheral portion 10 and the second peripheral portion 20 do not overlap, it is easier to manufacture a thin three-dimensional object.

The length of the joint width that forms the boundary between the first peripheral portion 10 or the second peripheral portion 20 and the central portion 2 is equal to the length of the side of the hexagon. If the joint width is shorter than the length of the side of the hexagon, the connection strength may decrease. On the other hand, it is difficult to obtain a joint width longer than the length of the side of the hexagon from a single piece of fabric.

There are no particular restrictions on the joint length (length perpendicular to the joint width) of the first peripheral portion 10 and the second peripheral portion 20, but it is necessary that the length is such that the piece of fabric 4 does not easily come off when pulled. If the length of one side of the regular hexagon shown in Figure 3 is 12 mm, the joint length will be approximately 7 mm. It is also possible to make the joint length 7 mm or more, with an emphasis on the design of the piece of fabric and the fabric product.

Furthermore, if the shape of the basic cloth piece P is such that the length of the joint width of the first peripheral portion 10 is equal to the length of the sides of the central portion 2 of the regular hexagon (i.e., if the first peripheral portion shares two vertices of a regular hexagon), this is preferable because it prevents the corners of the central portion 2 of the basic cloth piece P from floating up.
If the length of the seam width of the first peripheral portion 10 is equal to the length of the sides of the central portion 2 of the regular hexagon, even if the length of the seam width of the second peripheral portion 20 is less than the length of the sides of the central portion 2 of the regular hexagon (i.e., the first peripheral portion shares two vertices of a regular hexagon, but the second peripheral portion does not share two vertices of a regular hexagon), the corners of the central portion 2 of the basic fabric piece P will not rise up.

The thickness of the cloth pieces is determined by the material and the product to which they are applied. Generally speaking, things that are easy to connect are thought to be weak, but conversely, they are also easier to separate, so this point should be taken into consideration. In general, it is preferable for the thickness of the cloth pieces to be 5 mm or less, and 0.1 to 3 mm is even more preferable.

In the present invention, the material for the piece of cloth may be any sheet-like material that is flexible enough to be bent, and examples of such material include various woven and nonwoven fabrics, lace, felt, etc. made of natural fibers, nylon, polyester and other synthetic fibers, synthetic resins, synthetic rubber, etc. Leather, suede, etc. may also be used.
Among these, nonwoven fabric, felt, leather, suede, etc. are excellent materials in that the edges do not fray after the material sheet is cut and cutting operations using a laser cutter or embossing are easy.

The pieces of cloth described above can be connected in a flat manner by fitting the first notch 11 of the first peripheral portion 10 into the second notches 22, 22 of the second peripheral portion 20 of another piece of cloth, thereby producing various cloth products.
More specifically, by folding the second notches 22, 22 of the second peripheral portion 20 and inserting them into the first notch 11 of the first peripheral portion 10 of another piece of cloth, and engaging the first notch 11 with the second notches 22, 22, a large number of pieces of cloth can be connected in a flat shape to produce various cloth products.

Next, the corner cloth pieces will be described.

The size of the corner cloth pieces Q, R is not particularly limited, although it depends largely on the nature and size of the product to be constructed. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the number of first peripheral portions 10a, 30a and second peripheral portions 20a, 40a of the corner cloth piece Q is 44, but depending on the size of the product to be constructed from the basic cloth pieces P, the number of first peripheral portions and second peripheral portions can be increased or decreased accordingly.
