Description
The present invention relates to an absorbent article.
Absorbent articles generally include paper diapers such as tape-fastened types, pants-type diapers, and urine-absorbing pads, and these paper diapers are appropriately selected and used depending on the degree of care required for excretion by the wearer. Absorbent articles include a liquid-permeable top sheet, a liquid-impermeable back sheet, and an absorbent body disposed between them. In absorbent articles, bodily fluids such as urine pass through the top sheet and are absorbed by the absorbent body, and are configured to prevent leakage to the outside by the back sheet.
Here, the use of a urine absorption pad can be done by itself by attaching it to the wearer's underwear, or by using a tape-type or pants-type disposable diaper as the outer layer and the urine absorption pad as the inner layer. In either case, to effectively prevent leakage of bodily fluids and fully utilize the absorption performance of the urine absorption pad, it is necessary to improve the fit to the wearer's crotch area and to make the absorbent surface of the urine absorption pad adhere closely to the wearer's urethral opening, regardless of the wearer's gender. Various proposals have been made for urine absorption pads with the aim of improving the fit, absorbing large amounts of bodily fluids, and preventing leakage of bodily fluids.
Patent Document 1 discloses an absorbent article that is an inner pad for a paper diaper, and that is provided with a first fastening means that is removably fastened to the inner surface of the three-dimensional gathers on the paper diaper body side on the surface of the crotch portion of a pair of three-dimensional gathers on the paper diaper body, and a second fastening means that is removably fastened to the inner surface of the paper diaper body on the surfaces of the ventral and dorsal sides of the backsheet, in order to prevent the crotch portion of the pad from floating, prevent a decrease in fit to the human body, and prevent leakage of body fluids such as urine.
Patent Document 2 discloses an absorbent article in which a urine absorption pad (disposable auxiliary pad) is provided with fastening means on both widthwise edges at the front and rear sides, and has areas in the longitudinal crotch portion and widthwise center of the urine absorption pad that are free of fastening means, in order to facilitate attachment to the disposable diaper body and position adjustment, and to prevent a loss of fit and leakage of urine and other bodily fluids without excessively following the movements of the clothing to which it is attached.
Many elderly people with incontinence symptoms who have a mild level of excretion disorder and who produce a small amount of incontinent urine use urinary pads (light incontinence pads) with conventional underwear, rather than using disposable nursing diapers. However, urinary pads are mainly made of products with different product lengths that correspond to the approximate amount of absorption, and there are many cases where, when a caregiver puts on an urinary pad for elderly people who require assistance, the absorbing part of the pad moves away from the excretion position (target) even if the pad's absorption amount is adequately suited to the patient's symptoms, which is an issue. In addition, many elderly people who use urinary pads spend long periods of time sitting in a wheelchair during the day. For these elderly people, one of the issues is how to make it easier for them to put on urinary pads while sitting in a wheelchair.
Neither of the urine absorption pads described in Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2 is designed to be worn in the correct position by the caregiver or the wearer themselves adjusting the wearing position as appropriate when wearing or while wearing the pad. In addition, the urine absorption pads described in Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2 are intended to improve the adhesion and fit of the pad to the wearer's body, but are not provided with a structure for adjusting the wearing position.
The objective of the present invention is to provide an absorbent article that is easy for caregivers and wearers to wear in the correct position, easy to recognize when it is being worn, and has an appropriate absorption capacity for mild urinary incontinence symptoms.
As a result of intensive research conducted by the inventors to solve the above problems, they discovered that the desired absorbent article could be obtained by using a highly absorbent sheet of a predetermined structure that does not contain absorbent fibers such as fluff pulp, has two regions according to the amount of highly absorbent polymer carried (basis weight), and is configured so that both ends in the length direction extend outward from the wearer's clothing and can be fixed to the clothing with a predetermined strength, and thus completed the present invention. The absorbent article 50 of this embodiment can be used as various absorbent articles for babies and adults, such as pad products such as light incontinence pads and urine absorption pads, and paper diapers such as pants-type and tape-fastened types. Among these, it can be suitably used as a wide pad product in which the absorbent body 20 is configured to be wide. In addition, various paper diapers as outerwear and the absorbent article 50 in the form of a pad product as innerwear may be combined. The length direction dimension (hereinafter also simply referred to as "length") of the absorbent article 50 is in the range of 760 mm to 880 mm, and the width direction dimension (hereinafter also simply referred to as "width") is not particularly limited, but is, for example, in the range of 50 mm to 500 mm. By setting the length of the absorbent article 50 to the above range, the extension parts 60a and 60b at both ends in the length direction, which will be described later, can be effectively formed.
As shown in FIG. 1, the absorbent article 50 includes an absorbent section 70 that is arranged in a region including a central region extending longitudinally through the center of the width direction, contacts the body side, and has an absorbent body 20; extension sections 60a, 60b that do not include the absorbent body 20 and have paired ends on either side of the absorbent section 70 in the longitudinal direction, and that extend outward from the wearer's clothing and are folded back when the absorbent article 50 is worn; and engagement means 61a, 61b that are provided on the surfaces of the extension sections 60a, 60b that face the clothing when the longitudinal ends of the extension sections 60a, 60b are folded back, and engage with the outer surface of the clothing to secure the ends to the clothing. The absorbent article 50 is divided in the length direction into a front portion that mainly contacts the wearer's abdomen, a crotch portion that is connected to the front portion and mainly contacts the wearer's crotch, and a rear portion that is connected to the crotch portion and mainly contacts the wearer's buttocks and back. The front and rear portions correspond to the extensions 60a and 60b, respectively, and the crotch portion corresponds to the absorbent section 70.
2(a) and the like, the extensions 60a and 60b are formed by setting the length of each of the top sheet 10 and the back sheet 30 to a range of 760 mm or more and 880 mm or less, which is the length of the absorbent article 50 described above. In addition to the top sheet 10 and the back sheet 30, the extensions 60a and 60b may be provided with auxiliary nonwoven fabrics or the like to increase their tensile strength. As the auxiliary nonwoven fabric, various nonwoven fabrics used as the exterior nonwoven fabric and the interior nonwoven fabric of pants-type paper diapers and tape-type paper diapers can be used, such as thermal bond nonwoven fabrics, air-through nonwoven fabrics, and spunbond nonwoven fabrics. In addition, the engagement means 61a and 61b are not particularly limited as long as the peel strength to Kanakin No. 3 (JIS L 0803-compliant test attachment white cloth cotton) is 0.4 N/cm or more and 1.1 N/cm or less, and examples thereof include mechanical hook tape and hot melt for preventing slippage. If the peel strength is less than 0.4 N/cm, one or both of the engaging means 60a and 60b will come off the outer surface, reducing the adhesion of the absorbent article 50 to the wearer's crotch area and tending to cause side leakage, etc. If the peel strength is more than 1.1 N/cm, the fit and comfort of the absorbent article 50 will tend to decrease, and damage will tend to occur to the outer surface.
As shown in FIG. 2(b), the absorbent article 50 includes a liquid-permeable top sheet 10 located on the skin side, a liquid-impermeable back sheet 30 located opposite the top sheet 10 and on the non-skin side, an absorbent body 20 located between the top sheet 10 and the back sheet 30, and a pair of three-dimensional gathers 40 provided on the skin side of the top sheet 10. The absorbent body 20 has a length of 520 mm to 680 mm, a transfer sheet 15 of a hydrophilic nonwoven fabric with a raised non-skin side, and an absorbent sheet 14 that does not contain absorbent fibers such as fluff pulp, in which a superabsorbent polymer 12 is supported on a base nonwoven fabric 11 as a hydrophilic nonwoven fabric with a raised skin side and wrapped in a packaging sheet 13, and the absorbent sheet 14 has a high-density region 21 with a relatively high amount of the superabsorbent polymer 12 supported, and a low-density region 22 with a relatively low amount of the superabsorbent polymer 12 supported.
According to this embodiment, the absorbent body 20 having the absorbent sheet 14 that does not contain absorbent fibers such as fluff pulp has a high degree of freedom in length compared to conventional fluff pulp absorbents composed of absorbent fibers such as fluff pulp and superabsorbent polymer 12, and by arranging the appropriate amount of superabsorbent polymer 12, the absorbent section 70 and the extension sections 60a, 60b having areas in which the specific weight of the function is divided into wearability can be provided, thereby ensuring a comfortable fit and absorbency, and an absorbent article 50 that is also excellent in terms of cost can be obtained. That is, the high-density region 21 of the superabsorbent polymer in the center of the length direction is responsible for absorbing bodily fluids, and the low-density regions 21 at the front and rear suppress the stiffness derived from the superabsorbent polymer 12, increase flexibility, and reduce the hardness against the skin, thereby improving the comfort of wearing. For example, when sitting, the low-density region 22 located near the buttocks at the rear cushions the hardness of the seat surface, and when lying on one's back, the length of the sheet prevents any step and reduces discomfort with the appropriate cushioning of the low-density region 22. The transfer sheet (hereinafter also referred to as the "diffusion sheet") 15, which has fuzz facing the clothing side, and the absorbent sheet, mainly the low-density region 22, function to receive bodily fluids and effectively diffuse them throughout the sheet. In addition, by setting the peel strength of the engaging portions 61a and 61b from the surface of clothing or the outer surface of pants-type or tape-type disposable diapers within a specified range, the absorbent article 50, which has a characteristic length and configuration, is less likely to slip off, but can be easily put on and taken off repeatedly by adjusting the position. Furthermore, even in a test using a monitor with reduced physical function but mild incontinence symptoms, it was found that position adjustment was easy by pinching and moving both ends of the extension portions 60a and 60b, and the wearing position was easily recognized by the subject himself from the state of both ends of the extension portions 60a and 60b, which resulted in the prevention of leakage. By making the arrangement of the highly absorbent polymer region composed of the high density region 21 and the low density region 22 of the absorbent body 20 symmetrical in the front and back, the absorbent article 50 can be worn and functioned without having to worry about the front and back.
4 and 5 show the pants-type paper diaper 80 worn as an outer layer and the absorbent article 50 worn as an inner layer urine pad. The absorbent article 50 has an absorbing section 70 that mainly contacts the wearer's crotch area, and extensions 60a, 60b are provided on both sides of the absorbing section 70 in the length direction, extending a relatively large length outside the pants-type paper diaper 80 and fixed to the wearer's abdominal and waist sides by engaging members 61a, 61b. With the engaging means 61a, 61b disengaged, the absorbent article 50 can be easily moved by pulling the extensions 60a, 60b back and forth without pulling with a large force. In addition, even people with stiff bodies, such as the elderly, can easily grasp the extensions 60a, 60b located at the front and back of the body, so the elderly can easily adjust the position of the absorbent article 50 by simply pulling on either of the extensions 60a, 60b without having to remove the pants-type disposable diaper 80.
Below, each sheet-like or plate-like component will be described in more detail in the order of the top sheet 10, absorbent body 20, back sheet 30, and three-dimensional gathers 40. These components may have a three-dimensional shape other than a sheet or plate shape.
<Top sheet>
The top sheet 10 is a liquid-permeable sheet-like member that quickly passes bodily fluids toward the absorbent body 20, and is disposed opposite the back sheet 30 with the absorbent body 20 sandwiched therebetween. The extensions 60a, 60b are formed by extending both ends of the length of the top sheet 10 and/or the back sheet 30 and adjusting them to a predetermined length of the absorbent article 50. The extensions 60a, 60b may also be formed by joining auxiliary nonwoven fabrics extending in the length direction to both ends of the length of the top sheet 10 and the back sheet 30. Since the top sheet 10 may come into contact with the wearer's skin, a substrate that is soft to the touch and does not irritate the skin is preferable. Examples of the substrate include a hydrophilic sheet, a composite nonwoven fabric that is a laminate of the same or different hydrophilic sheets, an open-ended film such as an open-ended polyethylene film, and a foamed film such as a polyethylene foam or a urethane foam. Examples of hydrophilic sheets include air-through nonwoven fabrics, thermal bond nonwoven fabrics, spunlace nonwoven fabrics, spunbond nonwoven fabrics, and the like, which contain one or more of synthetic fibers made of synthetic resins such as polypropylene and polyethylene, regenerated fibers such as rayon, and natural fibers such as cotton.
The top sheet 10 may be embossed or perforated on the surface in accordance with a known method in order to improve liquid permeability. The top sheet 10 may contain one or more of lotions, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory components, pH adjusters, antibacterial agents, moisturizers, etc. in order to reduce irritation to the skin. The basis weight of the top sheet 10 is, for example, in the range of 15 g/m 2 to 40 g/m 2 in terms of strength, processability, and liquid return. The shape of the top sheet 10 is not particularly limited, and may be any shape that covers a part or all of the absorbent body 20, which is necessary to guide bodily fluids to the absorbent body 20 without leakage.
<吸収体>
<Absorbent>
The absorbent body 20 absorbs and retains, for example, bodily fluids that have passed through the diffusive sheet 15 via the top sheet 10. As described above, the absorbent body 20 of this embodiment has a length b (FIG. 3) of 520 mm or more and 680 mm or less, and includes a diffusive sheet 15 as a hydrophilic nonwoven fabric having a raised surface 15a as a non-skin surface, and an absorbent sheet 14 that does not contain absorbent fibers such as fluff pulp, in which a hydrophilic nonwoven fabric (hereinafter also referred to as a "base nonwoven fabric") 11 having a raised surface 11a as a skin surface surface carries a superabsorbent polymer 12 and is wrapped in a hydrophilic sheet (hereinafter also referred to as a "packaging sheet") 13, and the absorbent sheet 14 has a high density region 21 in which the amount of superabsorbent polymer 12 carried is relatively high, and a low density region 22 in which the amount of superabsorbent polymer 12 carried is relatively low. The absorbent body 20 is divided, from one end to the other end in the longitudinal direction, into an abdominal portion that mainly contacts the wearer's lower abdomen, a crotch portion that is connected to the abdominal portion and mainly contacts the wearer's crotch portion, and a buttocks portion that is connected to the crotch portion and mainly contacts the wearer's buttocks.
(Diffusion sheet)
The diffusive sheet 15 is disposed between the top sheet 10 and the absorbent sheet 14, and is made of a hydrophilic nonwoven fabric, with the non-skin surface facing the absorbent sheet 14 being the raised surface 15a, and the skin surface facing the top sheet 10 being the non-raised surface 15b. The raised surface 15a is a surface on which a plurality of raised fibers 15x are erected, and is formed by subjecting the surface of the diffusive sheet 15 to a raising process such as a nap-raising process. Such a layer made of a plurality of raised fibers 15x is excellent in cushioning properties, flexibility, fit, bodily fluid diffusion properties, etc., and improves the wearing comfort and bodily fluid absorbency of the absorbent article 50. Methods for raising one side surface 15a of the diffusive sheet 15 include methods using a rotary saw blade, needle punch, etc., and the method using a rotary saw blade is preferred from the viewpoint of in-line productivity and cost.
(Absorbent sheet)
As shown in FIG. 2( b ), the absorbent sheet 14 is composed of a base nonwoven fabric 11 , a bodily fluid absorbent layer 16 provided on the napped surface 11 a of the base nonwoven fabric 11 , and a packaging sheet 13 .
(Nonwoven Base Fabric)
The base nonwoven fabric 11 is made of a hydrophilic nonwoven fabric, and as shown in FIG. 2, the skin surface facing the non-skin surface of the diffusive sheet 15 is the raised surface 11a, and the non-skin surface is the non-raised surface 11b. A plurality of raised fibers 11x are erected on the raised surface 11a, and the superabsorbent polymer 12 is fixed and supported between the plurality of raised fibers 11x to form a bodily fluid absorbent layer 16. The plurality of raised fibers 11x erected on the raised surface 11a are formed by subjecting the surface of the base nonwoven fabric 11 to a raising process such as a nap-raising process. The plurality of raised fibers 11x of the base nonwoven fabric 11 imparts an appropriate thickness and softness to the absorbent sheet 14 in addition to the inherent bulkiness of the nonwoven fabric, resulting in good cushioning properties and improving the fit when worn. Furthermore, when the base nonwoven fabric 11 is raised, the superabsorbent polymer 12 can be dispersed and fixed between the raised fibers 11x. Methods for raising one side surface 11a of base nonwoven fabric 11 include methods using a rotary saw blade, needle punching, etc., and from the viewpoint of in-line productivity and cost, the method using a rotary saw blade is preferred.
The degree of raising in the base nonwoven fabric 11 and the diffusion sheet 15 is not particularly limited as long as the raising can be confirmed by visual inspection. For example, the raising rate as the degree of raising is in the range of 5% to 90%, or 8% to 80%. The raising rate means the rate of increase in the thickness of the base nonwoven fabric 11 due to the raising process. When the thickness of the base nonwoven fabric 11 before raising is T1 and the thickness of the base nonwoven fabric 11 after raising is T2, the raising rate (%) = [(T2-T1)/T1] x 100. The thicknesses T1 and T2 are measured under no load using a height gauge (manufactured by Mitutoyo Corporation). In addition, the fibers may be raised on the non-raised surface 11b of the base nonwoven fabric 11 and the non-raised surface 15b of the diffusion sheet 15.
The packaging sheet 13 is made of a hydrophilic sheet, and encases the entire base nonwoven fabric 11 and the bodily fluid absorbent layer 16. More specifically, the non-raised surface 11b of the base nonwoven fabric 11 is placed near the center of the width of the surface of the packaging sheet 13, and these are bonded together with a hot melt adhesive or the like. After that, both ends of the packaging sheet 13 in the width direction are folded in a C shape and overlapped in the thickness direction above the bodily fluid absorbent layer 16 (between the bodily fluid absorbent layer 16 and the diffusive sheet 15). These both ends may be fixed with a hot melt adhesive or the like.
(High density and low density areas)
1 and other figures, in the absorbent body 20 of this embodiment, the bodily fluid absorbent layer 16 is divided in the surface direction into two regions, a high density region 21 and a low density region 22. By providing these two regions, it is possible to obtain a highly convenient absorbent article 50 that satisfies high standards in terms of ease of wearing the absorbent article 50 by the wearer, fit, comfort, ease of grasping the position of the absorbent article 50 when worn, prevention of leakage, and the like.
The high-density region 21 is a band-shaped region extending in the length direction in the width direction center of the absorbent sheet 14 (or the bodily fluid absorbent layer 16), and has a relatively high amount of the superabsorbent polymer 12 carried (basis weight). The amount of the superabsorbent polymer carried in the high-density region 21 is 160 g/m 2 or more and 390 g/m 2 or less. If it is less than 160 g/m 2 , the absorption performance of the absorbent article 50, such as the absorption amount and absorption speed, tends to decrease, and if it exceeds 390 g/m 2 , the wearer tends to easily feel the hardness of the superabsorbent polymer 12 after absorbing bodily fluids. In addition, the length d (FIG. 3) of the high-density region 21 is configured to be shorter than the length b (FIG. 3) of the absorbent body 20, and is, for example, 40% to 60% of the length b (FIG. 3) of the absorbent body 20. If the length d of the high-density region 21 is less than 40%, the extension portions 60a, 60b tend not to be able to adequately align the absorbent 20 with the wearer's crotch area, and if it exceeds 60%, the wearer tends to be more likely to feel the stiffness caused by the highly absorbent polymer 12 depending on his/her posture.
The low-density region 22 is a region provided to sandwich the front and rear of the high-density region 21 in the longitudinal direction, and has a relatively low amount of the superabsorbent polymer 12 carried (basis weight). The amount of the superabsorbent polymer carried (basis weight) in the low-density region 22 is 120 g/m 2 or less, or 30 g/m 2 or more and 120 g/m 2 or less. If it exceeds 120 g/m 2 , the body fluid diffusion in the absorbent body 20 decreases, and there is a tendency for the absorption performance to decrease and side leakage to occur easily. In a preferred embodiment, the low-density region 22 has the same length e 1 and e 2 (FIG. 3) at both ends in the longitudinal direction. According to this embodiment, the absorbent body 20 as a whole has a symmetrical structure in the longitudinal direction, and the wearer can wear the absorbent article 50 without worrying about the front and back, etc., and the convenience of the absorbent article 50 is further improved. When the base nonwoven fabric 11 is raised, only the high density regions 21 and low density regions 22 may be raised, or the entire surface of the base nonwoven fabric 11 may be raised.
Next, the base nonwoven fabric 11, the highly absorbent polymer 12, and the packaging sheet 13 that make up the absorbent sheet 14 in the absorbent body 20 will be described in that order.
Examples of hydrophilic nonwoven fabrics (substrates) constituting the base nonwoven fabric 11 and the diffusive sheet 15 include nonwoven fabrics such as air-through nonwoven fabrics, point-bonded nonwoven fabrics, spunbonded nonwoven fabrics, melt-blown nonwoven fabrics, and composite nonwoven fabrics such as spunbonded nonwoven fabric/melt-blown nonwoven fabric laminates and spunbonded nonwoven fabric/melt-blown nonwoven fabric/spunbonded nonwoven fabric laminates. Among these nonwoven fabrics, air-through nonwoven fabrics are preferred for the base nonwoven fabric 11 and the diffusive sheet 15 from the standpoint of increasing bulk, etc.
The thicknesses of the base nonwoven fabric 11 and the diffusion sheet 15 are not particularly limited, but from the viewpoint of a balance between wearing comfort and absorption performance, are in the range of 0.3 mm to 11.0 mm, 0.5 mm to 5.0 mm, or 0.5 mm to 2.0 mm. The basis weights of the base nonwoven fabric 11 and the diffusion sheet 15 are not particularly limited, but are, for example, in the range of 35 g/ m2 to 120 g/ m2 . The thickness of the packaging sheet 13 is in the range of 0.10 mm to 0.25 mm, and the basis weight is in the range of 5 g/ m2 to 40 g/ m2 .
When an air-through nonwoven fabric is used as the base nonwoven fabric 11, the basis weight of the air-through nonwoven fabric is in the range of 35 g/ m2 or more and 120 g/ m2 or less. In a preferred embodiment, the thickness of the fibers constituting the air-through nonwoven fabric is in the range of 1.6 dtex or more and 14 dtex or less, 1.8 dtex or more and 9.0 dtex or less, or 2.0 dtex or more and 6.0 dtex or less. By adjusting the thickness of the fibers constituting the air-through nonwoven fabric to the above-mentioned range, the superabsorbent polymer 12 is easily dispersed and fixed between the raised fibers 11x of the air-through nonwoven fabric, and the uniform dispersion of the superabsorbent polymer 12 on the raised surface 11a is improved.
The packaging sheet 13, for example, diffuses the body fluid almost uniformly throughout the body fluid absorbent layer 16, and prevents the superabsorbent polymer 12 from falling off from the body fluid absorbent layer 16. As the hydrophilic sheet constituting the packaging sheet 13, any of those commonly used in this field can be used, for example, hydrophilic nonwoven fabrics such as thermal bonded nonwoven fabrics, spunbonded nonwoven fabrics, airlaid nonwoven fabrics, air-through nonwoven fabrics, and pulp-containing nonwoven fabrics, tissue paper, absorbent paper, etc. Among hydrophilic nonwoven fabrics, hydrophilic nonwoven fabrics such as thermal bonded nonwoven fabrics, spunbonded nonwoven fabrics, air-through nonwoven fabrics, and pulp-containing nonwoven fabrics are more preferable, and air-through nonwoven fabrics, pulp-containing nonwoven fabrics, spunbonded nonwoven fabrics, etc. are even more preferable.
Here, the pulp-containing nonwoven fabric is a nonwoven fabric in which a pulp fiber web is integrated with at least one surface of a spunbond nonwoven fabric (for example, U.S. Patent No. 5,284,703). The pulp-containing nonwoven fabric is produced, for example, by hitting a spunbond nonwoven fabric with pulp fibers under a high-pressure water stream using a hydroentanglement method. The pulp-containing nonwoven fabric obtained by this method is a fabric in which the fibers of the spunbond nonwoven fabric and the bulb pulp fibers of the pulp fiber web are entangled, and some of the pulp fibers penetrate the spunbond nonwoven fabric in the thickness direction, thereby firmly integrating the spunbond nonwoven fabric and the pulp fiber web.
The basis weight of the packaging sheet 13 is, for example, in the range of 15 g/ m2 or more and 80 g/ m2 or less. In the absorbent 20 of this embodiment, when the basis weight of the packaging sheet 13 is selected from the above-mentioned range, the body fluid diffusibility of the absorbent 20 and the entire absorbent is maintained at a high level. Furthermore, when the basis weight of the packaging sheet 13 is set in the above-mentioned range, it is possible to reduce the thickness, and the absorbent 20 is prevented from becoming unnecessarily bulky. As a result, a good wearing comfort of the absorbent article 50 is maintained.
(Superabsorbent polymer)
The superabsorbent polymer 12 is not particularly limited as long as it can absorb urine and prevent backflow, and examples thereof include polyacrylates, polyaspartates, (starch-acrylic acid) graft copolymers, (acrylic acid-vinyl alcohol) copolymers, (isobutylene-maleic anhydride) copolymers, and saponification products thereof, etc. Among these, polyacrylates are preferred from the viewpoint of the absorption amount per weight, and sodium polyacrylate is more preferred.
By avoiding the use of finely powdered superabsorbent polymer 12, which has poor powder flowability, it is possible to improve absorption performance such as absorption speed and absorption amount, and reduce the occurrence of a rough feel. Therefore, particulate superabsorbent polymer 12 having a median particle size is preferred. The median particle size is, for example, in the range of 50 μm to 600 μm or 100 μm to 500 μm.
In a preferred embodiment, the superabsorbent polymer 12 is fixed and supported between the raised fibers 11x by a hot melt adhesive. The hot melt adhesive reinforces the fixed support of the superabsorbent polymer 12 when the basis weight of the base nonwoven fabric 11 is relatively low. The content of the hot melt adhesive is, for example, in the range of 10 g/m 2 or less from the viewpoint of not impairing the absorbency of the superabsorbent polymer 12 and the feel on the skin when worn. The content of the hot melt adhesive is, for example, in the range of 10 g/m 2 or less from the viewpoint of not impairing the absorbency of the superabsorbent polymer 12 and not impairing the feel on the skin when worn. As the hot melt adhesive, those having a melting point of 100° C. or more and 180° C. or less can be used without any particular limitation, and examples thereof include synthetic rubber-based hot melt adhesives such as styrene-butadiene-styrene copolymers and styrene-isoprene-styrene copolymers, and olefin-based hot melt adhesives such as ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers. The hot melt adhesive can be applied by any of the known methods, such as the curtain coat method or spiral method, in which the molten hot melt adhesive is applied from a nozzle in a non-contact manner, or the slot method, in which the adhesive is applied in a contact manner.
(Absorbent body dimensions and shape)
The absorbent body 20 has a length dimension b (FIG. 3) in the range of 520 mm to 680 mm, and a width dimension in the range of, for example, 50 mm to 500 mm, 60 mm to 400 mm, or 90 mm to 380 mm. When the planar shape of the absorbent body 20 is an hourglass shape, the length dimension is in the range of 180 mm to 580 mm, the widths of the front and rear sides are both in the range of 180 mm to 380 mm, and the width of the crotch part is in the range of 90 mm to 200 mm. The absorbent body 20 may be embossed on the entire surface or a part thereof. In this embodiment, the planar shape of the absorbent body 20 is rectangular, but it may also be hourglass-shaped, I-shaped, a rounded rectangle, an oval, or the like.
The absorbent body 20 may be wrapped in a carrier sheet to prevent leakage of SAP particles and further stabilize the shape of the absorbent body 20. The base material of the carrier sheet may be any material that has hydrophilicity, such as tissue, absorbent paper, and hydrophilic nonwoven fabrics such as airlaid nonwoven fabrics. When multiple carrier sheets are provided, the base materials of the multiple carrier sheets may be the same or different.
<Back seat>
The back sheet 30 uses a liquid-impermeable substrate that prevents the body fluid held by the absorbent 20 from wetting clothing. Examples of the substrate include a resin film and a composite sheet that is a laminate of a resin film and a nonwoven fabric. The nonwoven fabric used in the composite sheet is not particularly limited in its manufacturing method, and examples thereof include spunbond nonwoven fabric, meltblown nonwoven fabric, composite nonwoven fabric that is a laminate of spunbond nonwoven fabric/meltblown nonwoven fabric, composite nonwoven fabric that is a laminate of spunbond nonwoven fabric/meltblown nonwoven fabric/spunbond nonwoven fabric, composite materials that are a laminate of two or more of these, and the like. Examples of the resin film include films of polyester, polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene, polypropylene, etc., composite films of polyethylene and polypropylene, etc.
The basis weight of the back sheet 30 is, for example, in the range of 15 g/ m2 to 40 g/ m2 in terms of strength and processability. In addition, from the viewpoint of preventing stuffiness during wearing, the back sheet 30 is preferably breathable. In order to impart breathability to the back sheet 30, for example, a method of blending a filler into a resin film, or a method of embossing the back sheet 30 to perforate the sheet, etc. can be used. Here, an example of the filler is calcium carbonate, and the filler can be blended according to a known method.
<3D gathers>
The three-dimensional gathers 40 are fixed to the skin side of the top sheet 10 near both ends in the width direction of the absorbent article 50 along the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article 50 in order to prevent, for example, lateral leakage of bodily fluids excreted by the wearer of the absorbent article 50. The three-dimensional gathers 40 include an elastic stretch member 40a and a water-repellent and/or waterproof sheet member 40b.
The elastic member 40a is disposed in the longitudinal direction near the free end (other end) of the sheet member 40b, imparting uprightness to the free end, and allowing the free end of the sheet member 40b and its neighboring area to be deformed to fit the wearer's body shape. In this embodiment, the sheet member 40b has one widthwise end (fixed end) fixed near both widthwise ends of the skin side of the back sheet 30, a middle part in the widthwise direction fixed near both widthwise ends of the skin side of the top sheet 10, and the other widthwise end being a free end having uprightness. The fixing position of the fixed end (one widthwise end) of the sheet member 40b is not limited to this embodiment, and may be, for example, the non-skin side of the back sheet 30, near both widthwise ends of the skin side or non-skin side of the joint of all or part of each edge of the top sheet 10 and the back sheet 30 with the absorbent body 20 stored therein, near both widthwise ends of the skin side of the top sheet 10, etc.
The sheet member 40b is a water-repellent and/or waterproof sheet, and is made of, for example, a nonwoven fabric. As the nonwoven fabric for the first sheet member, any water-repellent and/or waterproof (liquid-impermeable) nonwoven fabric formed of hydrophobic fibers can be used without any particular limitation, and examples thereof include spunbond nonwoven fabric, meltblown nonwoven fabric, and composite nonwoven fabric (SMS nonwoven fabric) which is a spunbond nonwoven fabric/meltblown nonwoven fabric/spunbond nonwoven fabric laminate. The basis weight of the sheet member 40b is, for example, in the range of 13 g/m 2 or more and 20 g/m 2 or less. As the elastically stretchable member 40a, for example, a thread-like, string-like, or strip-like material made of natural rubber, synthetic rubber, polyurethane, or the like can be appropriately used.
<Method of manufacturing absorbent articles>
The absorbent article 50 can be manufactured by a known manufacturing method, for example, a manufacturing method including a step of arranging the absorbent body 20 between the top sheet 10 and the back sheet 30, a step of fixing the edge of the top sheet 10 and the edge of the back sheet 30 partially or entirely around the periphery using a hot melt adhesive, heat embossing, ultrasonic embossing, high frequency embossing, or the like, and a step of providing three-dimensional gathers 40 at predetermined positions on the back sheet 30 and the top sheet 10. When the absorbent article 50 is a urine absorption pad or a light incontinence pad, it may be individually packaged in a package and then folded in thirds in the longitudinal direction. In addition, leg gathers, waist gathers, side flaps, and the like may be provided as appropriate depending on the application and shape of the absorbent article 50.

(Examples 1 to 5 and Comparative Examples 1 to 5)
One side surface of each of the air-through nonwoven fabrics (Table 1) used as the diffusion sheet and the base nonwoven fabric of the absorbent sheet (except Comparative Example 1) was physically raised with a rotary saw blade and subjected to a nap processing to produce a one-sided raised air-through nonwoven fabric (thickness after raising 1.2 mm, raising rate 25%). Next, an absorbent having the configuration shown in Table 1 was produced using the one-sided raised air-through nonwoven fabric (base nonwoven fabric, basis weight 60 g/ m2 , except Comparative Example 1), the highly absorbent polymer (each basis weight in the body fluid absorbent layer corresponds to the supported amount), and the packaging sheet of the absorbent sheet (spunbond nonwoven fabric, basis weight 15 g/ m2 ).
In Comparative Example 1, instead of the air-through nonwoven fabric, an absorbent made of fluff pulp (front width 110 mm, crotch width 95 mm, rear width 110 mm, basis weight 230 g/ m2 ) was used, and a superabsorbent polymer was mixed into the fluff pulp at a basis weight of 180 g/ m2 (Table 1, *1 and *2).
Absorbent articles, which are pad-type paper diapers of Examples 1 to 5 and Comparative Examples 1 to 5, were produced using an air-through nonwoven fabric (basis weight 25 g/ m2 ) as the top sheet, the one-sided raised air-through nonwoven fabric obtained above (substrate of diffusive nonwoven fabric, basis weight 40 g/ m2 ) as the diffusion sheet, the absorbent obtained above, a breathable polyethylene sheet (basis weight 30 g/ m2 ) as the liquid-impermeable back sheet, and a composite nonwoven fabric (basis weight 15 g/ m2 ) which is a laminate of spunbond nonwoven fabric/meltblown nonwoven fabric/spunbond nonwoven fabric as the three-dimensional gathers.

<Thickness under load>
The thickness of each of the high density and low density regions of the absorbent body was measured under a load of 35 gf/cm 2 .
<Peel strength of engagement means>
A sample was prepared in which the engaging means was fixed to Kanakin No. 3 (white cloth attached for testing in accordance with JIS L 0803, cotton). To fix the engaging means, the engaging means was placed on Kanakin No. 3, and a roller weighing 2 kg was moved back and forth from above to press it down, and the sample was prepared. This sample was clamped at 40 mm each in the upper and lower chucks of a Tensilon tensile tester. Next, the peel speed was set to 500 mm/min, and the tensile force (N/cm) when the engaging means was peeled off from the white cloth was measured as the peel strength. This measurement was performed 10 times for each engaging means. For the peel test, a material testing machine manufactured by A&D Co., Ltd., product name: ORIENTEC RTC-1250A, was used, and the data was processed using the company's general-purpose testing machine data processing system TACT, and the stable part of the peel strength on the displacement in the chart was obtained by integral averaging, and the test result was obtained. The minimum and maximum values were obtained from the obtained values, and are shown in Table 2.

(Absorption rate (repeated absorption rate))
The pad-type paper diapers of Examples 1 to 5 and Comparative Examples 1 to 5 were fixed in a flat, unfolded state, and a cylindrical absorption rate tool with an inner diameter of 30 mm was placed at the center of the width and length of the skin side, and 150 ml of 0.9% saline was poured in each time, and the time until the liquid level was absorbed on the surface of the paper diaper was measured. 3 minutes after absorption, the next 150 ml was poured, and the time until absorption was measured in the same manner. This operation was repeated, and the total time required for absorption of 150 ml x 3 times was taken as the absorption rate (seconds). Measurements were performed under a pressure of 35 g/ cm2 depending on the weight of the absorption rate tool.
(Reverse flow amount)
The pad-type disposable diapers of Examples 1 to 5 and Comparative Examples 1 to 5 were stretched flat and fixed in an open state, and 150 ml of 0.9% saline was poured into the center of the width and length of the skin side of the pad-type disposable diaper 5 times at 3-minute intervals, and left to stand for 10 minutes after the water was poured. Filter paper was placed in the center of the width and length of the skin side of the pad-type disposable diaper, and a weight of 35 g/ m2 was placed on top of it and left to stand for 1 minute. The weight was then removed, and the weight of 0.9% saline absorbed by the filter paper was calculated from the weight difference before and after absorption, which was taken as the return amount (wet back, g).

(Example 1) By making the absorbent article long, it was possible to guide the wearer to the correct absorption position even when putting it on. It was not misaligned in the length direction and missed the target, and it was easy for the caregiver to check the wearing position, and leakage was suppressed.
(Example 2) An absorbent article made with a lower amount of superabsorbent polymer within the regulations could be used during the day and at night without leakage, and by reducing the amount of superabsorbent polymer in a specified area, flexibility and cushioning were improved, resulting in a comfortable fit.
(Example 3) An absorbent article made with a higher amount of superabsorbent polymer within regulations could be used during the day and at night without leaking, and the increased amount of superabsorbent polymer improved the dry feeling even under high body pressure when changing position.
(Example 4) The absorbent article produced by setting the lengthwise dimension of the high density portion to be longer than the specified value could be worn in various positions without causing any significant discomfort, and had a high feeling of dryness.
(Example 5) An absorbent article made by shortening the lengthwise dimension of the high density portion within the regulation could be worn without leakage in various positions from day to night, and it fitted well and was comfortable to wear.
(Comparative Example 1) The absorbent article, which is a pad of conventional size, has a short lengthwise dimension, and therefore requires careful determination of the position for attaching the engagement part to the underwear, which causes a burden for both the wearer and the caregiver, and results in misalignment and side leakage after putting on.
(Comparative Example 2) The absorbent article produced with a uniform amount of highly absorbent polymer in the absorbent body did not show any leakage. However, it was hard due to the highly absorbent polymer, and was difficult to put on, and an uncomfortable feeling was felt in the long front and back parts even after putting it on.
(Comparative Example 3) An absorbent article prepared by uniformly lowering the amount of highly absorbent polymer carried in the absorbent body was comfortable to wear, but bodily fluids oozed out after absorption, causing discomfort when sitting, etc.
(Comparative Example 4) In an absorbent article manufactured by setting the engaging force of the engaging means higher than the prescribed range, the surface of the underwear became damaged and frayed with repeated use, and there were also cases where the underwear came off and caused leakage.
(Comparative Example 5) In an absorbent article manufactured by setting the engaging force of the engaging means lower than the prescribed range, the engaging force sometimes came loose due to the load of changing body position while sleeping, and in some cases, leakage occurred.
