Description

The present invention relates to a front structure of a vehicle.

Conventionally, a structure is known in which, when assembling a grille to a bumper, a guide portion of the grille moves along a rib of the bumper, preventing damage to the bumper due to contact between the grille and the bumper (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

In general, in such a structure, the outer periphery of the grill is made more rigid than the surrounding area and is plated or painted. This makes the outline of the grill more visible, prevents changes in shape that could mar its aesthetic appearance, and improves visibility.

However, in the above-mentioned conventional technology, the grille is directly attached to the bumper, which causes the grille to become misaligned after assembly, resulting in contact between the bumper and the outer periphery of the grille and causing paint peeling, leaving room for improvement in maintaining the aesthetic appearance of the bumper.

The present invention was made in consideration of the above problems, and aims to provide a vehicle front structure that can facilitate maintaining the aesthetic appearance of the bumper by assembling and fixing a separate garnish to the bumper and grille.

The vehicle front structure according to one embodiment includes a bumper located at the front of the vehicle, a grill attached to the bumper at its lower part, and a garnish fixed to the lower part of the grill from the front of the vehicle, the lower part of the grill having a lower surface and a forward extension extending forward from the lower surface, and the garnish is arranged to overlap the lower surface and the forward extension.

A preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the following description of the drawings, the same or similar parts are given the same or similar reference numerals. However, it should be noted that the drawings are schematic and the ratios of the dimensions are different from the actual ones. Therefore, the specific dimensions should be determined with reference to the following description. In addition, the drawings may include parts with different dimensional relationships and ratios. In this specification and the drawings, elements having substantially the same functions and configurations are given the same reference numerals to avoid repeated explanations, and elements not directly related to the present invention are not illustrated.

Below, a vehicle front structure 1 according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Figures 1 to 3.

As shown in FIG. 1, the vehicle front structure 1 has a bumper 2, a grille 3, and a garnish 4.

As shown in FIG. 1, the bumper 2 is disposed at the front of the vehicle. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the grille 3 is attached to the bumper 2 at its lower portion 3A.

As shown in FIG. 2, the garnish 4 is fixed to the lower part 3A of the grill 3 from the front of the vehicle. Here, the garnish 4 is plated.

For example, as shown in FIG. 2, a fixing member (e.g., a screw or the like) 5 can be inserted from the rear side of the vehicle through through holes in the bumper 2 and the grille 3 into holes in the garnish 4, thereby fixing the garnish 4 to the lower part 3A of the grille 3 and the bumper 2.

Here, as shown in FIG. 2, the lower portion 3A of the grill 3 has a lower surface portion 3B and a forward extension portion 3C.

As shown in FIG. 2, the lower surface portion 3B extends in the vertical direction of the vehicle between the garnish 4 and the bumper 2. Also, as shown in FIG. 2, the forward extension portion 3C extends forward from the lower surface portion 3B.

As shown in Figures 2 and 3, the garnish 4 is arranged so as to overlap the lower surface portion 3B and the forward extension portion 3C. Specifically, the garnish 4 is arranged so as to overlap the lower surface portion 3B on the rear side of the vehicle and the forward extension portion 3C on the lower side of the vehicle.

With this configuration, when assembled, the garnish 4 abuts against the lower surface 3B and forward extension 3C of the grille 3, and the bumper 2 and the garnish 4 do not come into direct contact with each other, preventing the paint from peeling off the bumper 2 and abnormal noises that may occur during contact.

In addition, with this configuration, even if the arrangement of the grille 3, garnish 4, and bumper 2 is likely to change, such as when exposed to wind, the lower portion 3A of the grille 3 (lower surface portion 3B and forward extension portion 3C) overlaps with the garnish 4, preventing contact between the bumper 2 and the garnish 4 and preventing scratches due to paint peeling or deformation of the bumper 2, making it possible to maintain the appearance of the bumper 2.

As shown in FIG. 3, the bumper 2 may have a stepped portion 2A that is convex upward.

As shown in FIG. 3, the step portion 2A may be arranged so as to overlap the forward extension portion 3C. In other words, when viewed in the vehicle width direction, the step portion 2A and the forward extension portion 3C may be arranged so as to overlap in the vertical direction of the vehicle.

With this configuration, the forward extension 3C and the step 2A come into contact with each other, and a gap is created between the garnish 4 and the bumper 2 at a position in front of the vehicle where the forward extension 3C is not present in the vertical direction of the vehicle, making it difficult for the garnish 4 and the bumper 2 to come into contact with each other, and maintaining the appearance of the bumper 2.

Also, as shown in FIG. 3, the lower part of the garnish 4 may have a recess 4A that is concave upward at a position corresponding to the step portion 2A.

As shown in FIG. 3, the recess 4A may be arranged so as to overlap the forward extension 3C. In other words, when viewed in the vehicle width direction, the step 2A, the forward extension 3C, and the recess 4A may be arranged so as to overlap in the vertical direction of the vehicle.

This configuration makes it possible to fit the forward extension 3C within the recess 4A, making the forward extension 3C of the grille 3 less visible when viewed from the front of the vehicle. This makes it less noticeable that there is a separate member (grill 3) at the boundary between the garnish 4 and the bumper 2, improving the aesthetic appearance (clearance).

Also, as shown in FIG. 3, the front portion 4F of the garnish 4 may have a bulging portion 4B that bulges forward from the forward extension portion 3C. Here, as shown in FIG. 3, the front portion 2F of the bumper 2 that is disposed below the bulging portion 4B may protrude forward from the forward extension portion 3C.

With this configuration, the bulging portion 4B of the garnish 4 casts a shadow on the front portion 2F of the bumper 2, making the forward extension portion 3C of the grille 3 less visible, improving the aesthetic appearance.

Furthermore, the front end portion 30C of the forward extension portion 3C may be bent downwardly below the lower portion 4C of the garnish 4.

With this configuration, the front end 30C is bent downward from the lower part of the garnish 4, making it difficult for the bumper 2 and the garnish 4 to come into direct contact with each other. This prevents the bumper 2 from losing its appearance due to paint peeling, etc.

Although the present invention has been described in detail using the above-mentioned embodiment, it is clear to those skilled in the art that the present invention is not limited to the embodiment described in this specification. The present invention can be implemented in modified and altered forms without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention as defined by the claims. Therefore, the description in this specification is intended to be illustrative and does not have any limiting meaning on the present invention.

According to this embodiment, a vehicle front structure 1 can be provided that can be secured to the bumper 2 and grille 3 by assembling a separate garnish 4, thereby promoting the maintenance of the aesthetic appearance of the bumper 2.
