Description

The present invention relates to a toothbrush consisting of a two-part brush section and a handle section which are removably connected together.

To prevent cavities and periodontal disease, brushing between the teeth and gums with a toothbrush is essential, and a toothbrush is made up of a brush section with bristles attached and a handle section that extends from the brush section.

While electric toothbrushes have become popular in recent years, the majority (over 90% of the total) still use the conventional type, in which the brush head and handle are integrated. With this conventional toothbrush, the tips of the bristles attached to the brush head (bristle tips) become loose with use, gradually reducing the effectiveness of brushing teeth and allowing a large amount of bacteria to grow on the bristles, making it necessary to replace the toothbrush at an appropriate time. This type of toothbrush should generally be replaced every slightly less than two months.

Conventional toothbrushes other than electric toothbrushes have an integrated brush head and handle, so when replacing them with new ones, the entire toothbrush, including the handle, which is still perfectly usable, is discarded. This is wasteful and uneconomical, and undesirable from the perspective of efficient use of resources.

Therefore, for example, Patent Document 1 proposes an assembled toothbrush in which a replacement brush (a brush assembly with tufts of bristles attached) is removably attached to the head portion of the main body.

Furthermore, Patent Document 2 proposes an assembled toothbrush in which replacement brushes can be attached and detached by immersing them in hot water (at a temperature of about 80°C).

However, in the assembled toothbrush proposed in Patent Document 1, the head of the main body into which the replacement brush is attached is larger than the head of existing toothbrushes, which makes it difficult to brush the back teeth and causes discomfort to the gums of the back teeth and the surrounding areas.

In addition, with the collapsible toothbrush proposed in Patent Document 2, the head of the main body to which the replacement brush is attached and detached is larger than the head of existing toothbrushes, resulting in the same problems as with the collapsible toothbrush proposed in Patent Document 1. In addition, there are safety issues with using hot water to attach and detach the replacement brush, as well as the time and effort required to prepare hot water, which makes it difficult for children and the elderly to attach and detach the replacement brush.

The present invention has been made in consideration of the above problems, and its purpose is to provide a toothbrush that can be easily replaced with just the brush part, without reducing the effectiveness of brushing teeth or causing discomfort when using it, and that can improve economy and make effective use of resources.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a toothbrush (1) comprising a brush portion (2) having bristle bundles (2a) attached thereto and a handle portion (3) extending from the brush portion (2), characterized in that the brush portion (2) and the handle portion (3) are constructed separately from each other and are detachably connected together.

According to the present invention, when replacing a toothbrush, only the brush part is replaced with a new one, and the handle part can continue to be used as is, so that only the old brush part needs to be discarded after use. This eliminates waste, improves economy, and promotes effective use of resources. In addition, since the same handle part can be used for a long period of time, it is possible to select and use ones with a high decorativeness or design, or ones made of high-quality materials. This makes it possible to make toothbrushes into high-value products that match individual preferences, compared to conventional disposable ones.

In addition, according to the present invention, the size of the brush part is the same as that of the brush part of existing toothbrushes, and there is no difference between the two, so there is no reduction in the effectiveness of brushing teeth or discomfort when using the product.

In addition, in the toothbrush (1) described above, a male screw (2b) may be formed on one (2) of the brush portion (2) and the grip portion (3), a female screw hole (3a) may be formed on the other (3), and the male screw (2b) may be screwed into the female screw hole (3a) so that the brush portion (2) and the grip portion (3) are detachably connected and integrated.

According to the above configuration, the brush part can be screwed to the grip part by a simple operation of, for example, fitting the male screw formed on the brush part into the female screw hole formed on the grip part and turning the brush part. Then, when the brush part is finished being used, it is turned in the opposite direction to when it was attached, and the male screw and the female screw hole are released from the screw engagement, so that the brush part can be easily removed from the grip part and discarded. Therefore, even children and the elderly can easily attach and detach the brush part to and from the grip part.

In addition, in the toothbrush (11), an engagement claw (12a) may be formed on one (12) of the brush portion (12) and the grip portion (13), and an engagement groove (13b) may be formed on the other (13), and the brush portion (12) and the grip portion (13) may be removably connected and integrated by engaging the engagement claw (12a) with the engagement groove (13b).

According to the above configuration, for example, a new brush part can be attached to the grip part and the two can be connected and integrated by a simple operation of engaging the engagement claws formed on the brush part with the engagement grooves formed on the grip part. Then, by releasing the engagement between the engagement claws of the used brush part and the engagement grooves of the grip part, the brush part can be easily removed from the grip part and discarded. Therefore, even children and the elderly can easily attach and detach the brush part to and from the grip part.

In addition, in the toothbrush (21), a cylindrical protrusion (22A) is provided at one axial end of one of the brush portion (22) and the grip portion (23), and a circular hole (23A) into which the cylindrical protrusion (22A) is inserted and fitted is formed at one axial end of the other (23). An engaging protrusion (22a) is formed along the circumferential direction on a part of the outer periphery of the cylindrical protrusion (22A), and the engaging protrusion ( The brush portion (22) and the grip portion (23) may be detachably connected and integrated by forming an axial groove (23a) that allows the passage of the cylindrical convex portion (22a) and an engagement groove (23b) that extends circumferentially from the axial groove (23a), and by inserting the cylindrical convex portion (22A) into the circular hole (23A) and rotating it by a predetermined angle about the axial center to engage the engagement protrusion (22a) with the engagement groove (23b).

According to the above configuration, for example, the cylindrical convex portion protruding from the brush part is aligned with the circular hole of the grip part, and the engaging protrusion formed on the outer periphery of the cylindrical convex portion is pushed into the circular hole while passing through the axial groove formed on the inner periphery of the circular hole of the grip part, and then the brush part is rotated a predetermined angle around the axis, whereby the engaging protrusion formed on the cylindrical convex portion engages with the engaging groove formed on the inner periphery of the circular hole, and the brush part is connected to the grip part and integrated. Then, when the used brush part is rotated a predetermined angle around the axis in the opposite direction to when it was attached, the engaging protrusion and the engaging groove are released, and the brush part can be pulled out of the grip part and discarded. Therefore, even children and the elderly can easily attach and detach the brush part to and from the grip part.

In addition, in the toothbrush (31), an insertion plate (32a) and an engaging protrusion (32b) may be formed on one (32) of the brush portion (32) and the grip portion (33), and an insertion groove (33a) and an engaging recess (33b) may be formed on the other (33). The brush portion (32) and the grip portion (33) may be removably connected and integrated by inserting the insertion plate (32a) into the insertion groove (33a) and engaging the engaging protrusion (32b) with the engaging recess (33b).

According to the above configuration, for example, a new brush part can be attached to the grip part and the two can be connected and integrated by a simple operation of inserting an insertion plate formed on the brush part into an insertion groove formed on the grip part and engaging an engagement protrusion formed on the brush part with an engagement recess formed on the grip part. Then, by pulling the used brush part out of the grip part and releasing the engagement between the engagement protrusion of the brush part and the engagement recess of the grip part, the brush part can be easily removed from the grip part and discarded. Therefore, even children and the elderly can easily attach and detach the brush part to and from the grip part.

The toothbrush of the present invention has the advantage that by simply replacing only the brush part, it is possible to improve economy and make effective use of resources without reducing the effectiveness of brushing teeth or causing any discomfort when using the toothbrush.

The following describes an embodiment of the present invention with reference to the attached drawings.

<First embodiment>
FIG. 1 is a side view of a toothbrush according to a first embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along line AA of FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 is an exploded side view of the toothbrush.

The toothbrush 1 according to this embodiment comprises a brush section 2 in which bristles are attached, and a grip section 3 which is a handle portion extending linearly from the brush section 2, with the brush section 2 and the grip section 3 being constructed as separate bodies. The brush section 2 and the grip section 3 are detachably connected together by a connecting structure which will be described later. More precisely, the brush section 2 can be replaced with a new one, and this brush section 2 is detachably connected to the grip section 3.

The brush part 2 is a part for brushing the teeth, and has 20 to 24 tufts (tufts or bundles) of bristles 2a attached to its main body (base) 2A. The bristles 2a are made of bristles made of resin materials such as nylon or polyester, or natural materials. The main body (base) 2A of the brush part 2 is made of resin materials such as polypropylene or polyester.

The handle part 3 is the part that the user holds when brushing their teeth, and is also made of a resin material such as polypropylene or polyester.

Generally, toothbrushes need to be replaced at appropriate intervals (usually less than two months) because the bristles deteriorate with use, but the toothbrush 1 according to this embodiment has the brush part 2 and the grip part 3 constructed separately as described above, and the two are detachably connected together. Therefore, when replacing the toothbrush 1, only the brush part 2 with deteriorated bristles 2a is replaced with a new one, and the grip part 3, which is not deteriorated, can continue to be used as is.

Here, we will explain the connection structure between the brush part 2 and the handle part 3 in the toothbrush 1 of this embodiment.

In the toothbrush 1 according to this embodiment, a cylindrical male screw 2b that protrudes concentrically in the axial direction is integrally formed at one axial (longitudinal) end (lower end in FIG. 3) of the connecting side (side connected to the gripping part 3) of the brush part 2 as shown in FIG. 3. Also, a circular female screw hole 3a is formed at one axial end (upper end in FIG. 3) of the connecting side (side connected to the brush part 2) of the gripping part 3 as shown in FIG. 3. The outer diameter of one axial end of the connecting side of the brush part 2 and the outer diameter of one axial end of the connecting side of the gripping part 3 are set to the same value (same diameter).

In toothbrush 1 having the above-mentioned connection structure, when replacing only the brush head 2 with a new one, aligning the male thread 2b of the new brush head 2 with the female thread hole 3a of the gripping portion 3 and rotating the brush head 2 around the axis will screw the male thread 2b of the brush head 2 into the female thread hole 3a of the gripping portion 3, and as shown in Figures 1 and 2, the brush head 2 will be screwed into the gripping portion 3 and the two will be connected and integrated. The toothbrush 1 shown in Figure 1, in which the brush head 2 and gripping portion 3 are connected and integrated in this way, can be used for brushing teeth by the user by holding and operating the gripping portion 3, just like a conventional toothbrush.

When the time to replace the toothbrush 1 has come due to deterioration of the bristles 2a of the brush portion 2 of the toothbrush 1 through use, the user simply turns the used brush portion 2 in the opposite direction to that used for attachment, which releases the male screw 2b from the female screw hole 3a, allowing the user to easily remove the brush portion 2 from the grip portion 3 and discard it.

As described above, according to the toothbrush 1 of this embodiment, when the toothbrush 1 needs to be replaced, only the brush part 2 is replaced with a new one, and the grip part 3 can continue to be used as is, so that only the old brush part 2 that has been used needs to be discarded. This eliminates waste, improves economy, and promotes effective use of resources. In addition, since the same grip part 3 can be used for a long period of time, it is possible to select and use one that is highly decorative or designed, or one that uses high-quality materials. This makes it possible to make the toothbrush 1 a high-value product that matches individual preferences, compared to conventional disposable toothbrushes.

The size of the brush part 2 is the same as that of existing toothbrushes, and there is no difference between the two, so there is no decrease in the effectiveness of brushing teeth or discomfort when using the product. Furthermore, the grip part 3 can be used repeatedly, so users can select a grip part 3 with their favorite color or design and continue to use it for a long period of time.

In addition, the brush part 2 can be attached and detached to the grip part 3 by a simple operation of fitting the male screw 2b formed on the brush part 2 into the female screw hole 3a formed on the grip part 3 and turning the brush part 2, so that even children and the elderly can easily attach and detach the brush part 2 to and from the grip part 3.

In this embodiment, a male thread 2b is formed in the brush portion 2 and a female threaded hole 3a is formed in the grip portion 3, but it goes without saying that the same effect can be obtained by forming a female threaded hole in the brush portion 2 and a male thread in the grip portion 3 in the opposite manner.

<Embodiment 2>
Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS.

Figure 4 is a side view of a toothbrush relating to embodiment 2 of the present invention, Figure 5 is a cross-sectional view taken along line B-B in Figure 4, Figure 6 is a partial oblique view showing the connection structure of the toothbrush, and Figures 7A to 7C are partial cross-sectional views showing the connection process of the toothbrush in order.

The basic configuration of the toothbrush 11 according to this embodiment is the same as that of the toothbrush 1 according to the first embodiment. The toothbrush 11 is constructed by connecting and integrating the brush portion 12 and the grip portion 13, which are each constructed independently and separately. The only difference is the connection structure between the brush portion 12 and the grip portion 13. Therefore, the connection structure will be described below.

In the toothbrush 11 according to this embodiment, rectangular plate-shaped brackets 12A are integrally formed and protrude from two opposing locations on one axial end (the lower end in Figures 5 and 6) of the connecting side of the brush portion 12, and an engaging claw 12a is integrally formed and protrudes inward (diametrically inward) from the inner surface of the lower end of each bracket 12A.

On the other hand, as shown in Fig. 6, rectangular axial grooves 13a for allowing the engagement pawls 12a to pass are formed at two opposing locations on the outer periphery of one axial end (upper end in Fig. 6) of the connecting side of the gripping portion 13. Engagement grooves 13b are formed along the circumferential direction on the small-diameter outer periphery 13A of the gripping portion 13 at the locations where the axial grooves 13a are formed.

In toothbrush 11 having the above-described connecting structure, when replacing only brush head 12 with a new one, new brush head 12 is moved toward gripping portion 13 in the direction of the arrow in Fig. 7A, and engagement claws 12a protruding from the inner surface of each of two brackets 12A are aligned with two axial grooves 13a formed in gripping portion 13. Then, when brush head 12 is further pushed toward gripping portion 13 from this state, as shown in Fig. 7B, two engagement claws 12a of brush head 12 come into contact with outer peripheral surface 13A of gripping portion 13 at the site where axial grooves 13a are formed, and elastically deform so as to spread outward.

From the above state, the brush portion 12 is pushed further towards the grip portion 13, and as shown in Figure 7C, when the engaging claws 12a of the brush portion 12 match with the engaging grooves 13b of the grip portion 13, each bracket 12A returns to its original position due to its elastic restoring force, so that the engaging claws 12a protruding from each bracket 12A engage with the engaging grooves 13b of the grip portion 13, and the brush portion 12 is connected to the grip portion 13, thereby forming the two into one unit.

When the time comes to replace the toothbrush 11 due to deterioration of the brush portion 12 of the toothbrush 11 through use, the user can simply use a tool or the like to push apart the bracket 12A of the brush portion 12 and release the engagement between the engagement claws 12a protruding from the bracket 12A and the engagement grooves 13b, allowing the brush portion 12 to be easily removed from the grip portion 13 and discarded.

As described above, according to the toothbrush 11 of this embodiment, when it is time to replace the toothbrush 11, only the brush part 12 is replaced with a new one, and the grip part 13 can continue to be used as is, thereby achieving the same effect as the toothbrush 1 of the first embodiment. In particular, with the toothbrush 11 of this embodiment, the brush part 12 can be attached to and detached from the grip part 13 by a simple operation of simply engaging and disengaging the engagement claws 12a on the brush part 12 with the engagement grooves 13b on the grip part 13, so that even children and the elderly can easily replace the old brush part 12 with a new one.

In this embodiment, the engaging claw 12a is formed on the brush portion 12 side and the engaging groove 13b is formed on the grip portion 13 side, but it goes without saying that the same effect can be obtained by forming the engaging groove on the brush portion 12 side and the engaging claw on the grip portion 13 side instead.

<Third embodiment>
Next, a third embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS.

Figure 8 is a side view of a toothbrush relating to embodiment 3 of the present invention, Figure 9 is a partial oblique view showing the connection structure of the toothbrush, and Figures 10A to 10C are cross-sectional views taken along line C-C of Figure 8, showing the connection process of the toothbrush in order.

The basic configuration of the toothbrush 21 according to this embodiment is the same as that of the toothbrush 1 according to the first embodiment. The toothbrush 21 is constructed by connecting and integrating the brush part 22 and the grip part 23, which are constructed separately and independently. The only difference is the connection structure between the brush part 22 and the grip part 23. Therefore, the connection structure will be described below.

In the toothbrush 21 of this embodiment, as shown in Figure 9, a cylindrical protrusion 22A is integrally formed at one axial end (lower end in Figure 9) of the connecting side of the brush part 22, and a circular hole 23A into which the cylindrical protrusion 22A is inserted and fitted is formed at one axial end (upper end in Figure 9) of the connecting side of the grip part 23.

Engagement protrusions 22a are partially formed along the circumferential direction at two opposing locations on the outer periphery of the cylindrical convex portion 22A protruding from the brush portion 22, and a rectangular axial groove 23a that allows the engagement protrusions 22a to pass through and an engagement groove 23b extending circumferentially from the axial groove 23a are formed on the inner periphery of a circular hole 23A formed in the grip portion 23.

When replacing only the brush part 22 in the toothbrush 21 having the above-mentioned connection structure, as shown in Fig. 10A, with the engagement protrusions 22a on the brush part 22 aligned with the axial grooves 23a on the grip part 23, the cylindrical protrusions 22A of the brush part 22 are fitted into the circular holes 23A of the grip part 23, and the brush part 22 is pushed toward the grip part 23 (lower in Fig. 10). Then, the two engagement protrusions 22a on the brush part 22 pass through the two axial grooves 23a on the grip part 23, respectively, and when these engagement protrusions 22a match with the engagement grooves 23b on the grip part 23, the brush part 22 is rotated in a specified direction (clockwise in Fig. 10) around the axis.

When the brush part 22 is rotated around the axis as described above, the two engaging protrusions 22a on the brush part 22 engage with the two engaging grooves 23b on the grip part 23 as shown in Figure 10B, and when this brush part 22 is rotated a predetermined angle, the two engaging protrusions 22a fit completely into the two engaging grooves 23b as shown in Figure 10C, so that the new brush part 22 is attached to the grip part 23 and the two are connected and integrated, and the toothbrush 21 shown in Figure 8 is assembled.

When the time to replace the toothbrush 21 has come due to deterioration of the brush head 22 through use, the user rotates the brush head 22 around the axis in the opposite direction to that used during assembly. This disengages the two engagement protrusions 22a on the brush head 22 from the two engagement grooves 23b on the grip head 23, allowing the brush head 22 to be easily removed by pulling it out of the grip head 23, and then discarded.

As described above, according to the toothbrush 21 of this embodiment, when it is time to replace the toothbrush 21, only the brush part 22 is replaced with a new one, and the grip part 23 can continue to be used as is, so that the same effect as the toothbrushes 1 and 11 of the above-mentioned embodiments 1 and 2 can be obtained. In particular, with the toothbrush 21 of this embodiment, the brush part 22 can be attached and detached from the grip part 23 by a simple operation of fitting the cylindrical convex part 22A of the brush part 22 into the circular hole 23A of the grip part 23 and rotating the brush part 22 by a predetermined angle around the axis center, so that even children and the elderly can easily replace the old brush part 22 with a new one.

In this embodiment, the engagement protrusion 22a is formed on the brush portion 22 side and the engagement groove 23b is formed on the grip portion 23 side, but it goes without saying that the same effect can be obtained by forming the engagement groove on the brush portion 22 side and the engagement protrusion on the grip portion 23 side instead.

<Fourth embodiment>
Next, a fourth embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS.

Figure 11 is a partially broken front view of a toothbrush relating to embodiment 4 of the present invention, Figure 12 is a side view of the same toothbrush, Figure 13 is an exploded front view of the same toothbrush, and Figure 14 is an exploded side view of the same toothbrush.

The basic configuration of the toothbrush 31 according to this embodiment is the same as that of the toothbrushes 1, 11, and 21 according to the above-mentioned embodiments 1 to 3. The toothbrush 31 is configured by connecting and integrating the brush portion 32 and the grip portion 33, which are each configured independently and separately. The only difference is the connection structure between the brush portion 32 and the grip portion 33, so the connection structure will be described below.

In the toothbrush 31 of this embodiment, a trapezoidal insertion plate 32a is integrally formed on one axial end of the connecting side of the brush portion 32 (the lower end in Figures 13 and 14) so as to protrude downward in the figure, and an engaging protrusion 32b which is elliptical in front view is integrally formed on this insertion plate 32a so as to protrude downward.

On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 11, an insertion groove 33a having the same shape as the insertion plate 32a formed in the brush portion 32 and an engagement recess 33b into which the engagement protrusion 32b protruding from the insertion plate 32a engages are formed at one axial end portion (upper end portion in FIG. 11) of the connecting side of the grip portion 33.

In the toothbrush 31 having the above-described connecting structure, when replacing only the brush part 32 with a new one, the insertion plate 32a of the new brush part 32 is inserted into the insertion groove 33a of the grip part 33. Then, as shown in FIG. 11, the engaging convex part 32b protruding from the insertion plate 32a engages with the engaging concave part 33b formed in the grip part 33, so that the brush part 32 is connected to the grip part 33 and the two are integrated.

When the toothbrush 31 needs to be replaced due to deterioration of the brush head 32 caused by use, the user simply pulls the brush head 32 in the direction of removing it from the grip 33, which disengages the engagement protrusion 32b integrally protruding from the insertion plate 32a of the brush head 32 from the engagement recess 33b formed in the grip 33. Therefore, as shown in Figures 13 and 14, the brush head 32 can be easily removed from the grip 33 and discarded.

As described above, according to the toothbrush 31 of this embodiment, when it is time to replace the toothbrush 31, only the brush head 32 is replaced with a new one, and the grip portion 33 can continue to be used as is, thereby achieving the same effect as the toothbrushes 1, 11, and 21 of the above-mentioned embodiments 1 to 3. In particular, with the toothbrush 31 of this embodiment, the brush head 32 can be attached to and detached from the grip portion 13 by a simple operation of simply inserting or pulling the brush head 32 into or out of the grip portion 33, so that even children or the elderly can easily replace the old brush head 32 with a new one.

In this embodiment, the insertion plate 32a and the engaging protrusion 32b are formed on the brush portion 32 side, and the insertion groove 33a and the engaging recess 33b are formed on the grip portion 33 side. However, the same effect as described above can be obtained by forming the insertion groove and the engaging recess on the brush portion 32 side, and the insertion plate and the engaging protrusion on the grip portion 33 side.

Furthermore, it goes without saying that the connection structure between the brush part and the handle part in the toothbrush of the present invention is not limited to the examples given above, and any other connection structure can be adopted.

In addition, the present invention is not limited to the application of the embodiments described above, and various modifications are possible within the scope of the claims and the technical ideas described in the specification and drawings.
