Any algorithm may be used to generate the ticket number, but it is preferable that one ticket number cannot be easily inferred from another ticket number. For example, the two-dimensional code generating unit 530 generates the ticket number using an algorithm that uses a check digit. In this case, the ticket number is, for example, a combination of (alphabet) + (number) + (check digit). For example, the (number) portion becomes a consecutive number. As a result, the generated ticket number is given an alphabet that is difficult to infer and a check digit, making it difficult to infer the ticket number of another promotion coupon TK from a certain ticket number. The authentication unit 532 outputs the authentication result to the settlement object determination unit 533 and the error log generation unit 534.

The settlement target determination unit 533 determines the used promotion vouchers TK that should be settled. The settlement target determination unit 533 obtains the authentication result from the authentication unit 532. Figures 11 and 12 are diagrams showing examples of screen displays displayed on the affiliated store terminal 30 according to the embodiment. Figure 11 shows an example of an operation screen for processing carried out by the store side regarding promotion vouchers TK. In this example, the screen for applying to register an affiliated store shows, for example, an operation button B1 for updating application information, an operation button B2 for withdrawing the affiliated store application, and an operation button B3 for reading a code (two-dimensional code CD).

Therefore, it is possible to determine whether the coupon is counterfeit with a high degree of accuracy.

In addition, in the management server 50 of the embodiment, the two-dimensional code generation unit 530 generates a digital signature corresponding to the promotion voucher TK using a different private key for each type of promotion voucher TK. This allows the management server 50 of the embodiment to identify the type of used promotion voucher TK during the authentication process, and to determine whether the used promotion voucher TK is of a type that can be used at the affiliated store. Therefore, it is possible to correctly settle the used promotion voucher TK.

In addition, in the management server 50 of the embodiment, the two-dimensional code generation unit 530 generates the ticket number of the promotion voucher TK based on an algorithm that uses a check digit. This allows the management server 50 of the embodiment to create a series of ticket numbers in the promotion voucher TK by combining a serial number with characters that are difficult to infer (alphabets or check digits). Therefore, it is possible to make it difficult to infer the ticket number of one promotion voucher TK from the ticket number of another promotion voucher TK, and it is possible to prevent promotion vouchers TK from being counterfeited by inferring the ticket number.
