Description

The present invention relates to a baseboard that can absorb unevenness in the floor surface and a method for manufacturing the baseboard.

Skirting boards have been known as interior trim materials that are placed along the boundary between a wall surface and a floor surface. For example, as shown in FIG. 7, a skirting board 100 has been proposed that includes a skirting board body 102 with a decorative sheet 101 attached to its surface, and an elastic member 104 having an insertion portion 105 that is inserted into a groove 103 formed at the bottom end of the skirting board body 102. By attaching the elastic member 104 to the bottom end of the skirting board 100, even if the floor surface is uneven, the elastic member 104 formed at the bottom end of the skirting board 100 can be brought into contact with the floor surface and the elastic member 104 can be deformed to conform to the unevenness of the floor surface, thereby preventing a decrease in the appearance of the joint between the skirting board 100 and the floor surface. (See, for example, Patent Documents 1 and 2.)

The baseboard 100, which can accommodate such uneven floor surfaces, is made up of two components, the baseboard body 102 and the elastic member 104. This requires a process of fitting the two components 102 and 104 together after each component is manufactured, resulting in poor manufacturing efficiency.

In response to this, as shown in Figure 8, a baseboard 200 has been proposed in which a flexible decorative sheet 202 is attached to the surface of the baseboard body 201, a V-shaped groove 203 is provided in the longitudinal direction at the lower end so that the decorative sheet 202 remains on the back side of the decorative sheet 202, and a plurality of V-shaped grooves 203 are arranged in parallel at the lower end, and the lower surface 204 of the baseboard body 201 is curved in the longitudinal direction so that its vertical cross section bulges downward in a substantially arc shape (see Patent Document 3). According to this baseboard 200, the baseboard body 201 can be bent by the V-shaped groove 203, and the baseboard 200 is formed only from the decorative sheet 202 and the baseboard body 201, so that the process of fitting two parts together can be reduced in the manufacturing process, resulting in excellent manufacturing efficiency.

However, the baseboard 100 in which two parts are fitted together as in Patent Document 1 or Patent Document 2 requires an additional step of fitting the two parts together, which reduces manufacturing efficiency. However, even in the case of a baseboard 200 in which a V-groove 203 is provided at the bottom end of the baseboard body 201 as in Patent Document 3, a step of machining the V-groove 203 is required, which may reduce productivity. In addition, since the baseboard body 201 has a rigidity that allows it to maintain the shape of the baseboard 100, it is difficult to make it sufficiently conform to unevenness in the floor surface even if a V-groove 203 is provided in the longitudinal direction.

The present invention aims to provide a baseboard that can adequately accommodate uneven floor surfaces and prevent a decline in productivity.

The baseboard of the present invention is a baseboard that is placed along the boundary between a wall surface and a floor surface, and comprises a baseboard body formed in a board shape, and a decorative sheet attached to the baseboard body, wherein the decorative sheet is attached to at least the upper and front surfaces of the baseboard body, and is turned downward with some slack from the lower end of the front surface and attached to the rear surface of the baseboard body, the decorative sheet has a bulging portion that bulges away from the underside of the baseboard body, and the underside of the baseboard body is formed at an angle so that the front side is lower and the rear side is higher, and a space that is not exposed to the inside of the room in a roughly triangular shape when viewed from the side is formed by the wall surface, the floor surface, and the underside of the baseboard body, and the excess portion of the decorative sheet at the bulging portion is hidden in the space . In addition, the "front surface" of the baseboard body refers to the surface opposite the wall surface when the baseboard is placed along the boundary between a wall surface and a floor surface, and the "rear surface" of the baseboard body refers to the surface facing the wall surface when the baseboard is placed along the boundary between a wall surface and a floor surface.

The manufacturing method of the baseboard of the present invention is a method for manufacturing any of the baseboards described above, characterized in that the decorative sheet to which adhesive has been applied is pressed from the upper part of the rear surface of the baseboard body to the upper surface and the front surface, and is then wrapped around the rear surface leaving a distance between the lower end of the front surface and the lower surface of the baseboard body, and is pressed against the lower part of the rear surface for adhesion.

According to the baseboard of the present invention, a decorative sheet is attached to the top and front surfaces of the baseboard body, which is formed in a plate shape. The decorative sheet is turned downward from the bottom surface of the baseboard body with a margin and attached to the rear surface of the baseboard body, so that it has a bulging portion that bulges away from the bottom surface of the baseboard body. Therefore, even when the baseboard is formed on a floor surface where there is a slight step, such as the step between the entryway step or the upper step of the stairs and the flooring, the bulging portion can be pressed against the floor surface and deformed to fit the floor surface, so that it is possible to prevent gaps from occurring at the bottom end of the baseboard due to unevenness on the floor surface and prevent a decrease in the design of the interior. Moreover, the unevenness can be adjusted by the decorative sheet that decorates the surface of the baseboard body, so there is no need to separately fix an elastic material to adjust the unevenness at the bottom end of the baseboard, which reduces the manufacturing cost of the baseboard.

According to the baseboard of the present invention, the underside of the baseboard body is formed with an incline so that the front side is lower and the rear side is higher. Therefore, when the baseboard is placed along the boundary between the wall and floor, the rear side of the underside of the baseboard body is positioned farther away from the floor, forming a space that is surrounded by the baseboard body, floor, and wall and is not exposed to the inside of the room. When the bulging portion of the decorative sheet is pressed against the floor, the bulging portion deforms, causing excess decorative sheet to be contained within this space. This makes it possible to hide the excess decorative sheet from being exposed to the inside of the room, and to prevent a decrease in the design of the interior.

According to the baseboard manufacturing method of the present invention, a decorative sheet coated with adhesive is pressed from the upper part of the rear surface of the baseboard body to the upper surface and front surface, so that the decorative sheet is attached to all surfaces of the baseboard exposed to the interior side. The decorative sheet is then turned to the rear surface with a distance between the lower end of the front surface and the lower surface of the baseboard body, and pressed and adhered to the lower part of the rear surface, so that one decorative sheet can serve both as a decorative material for the surface of the baseboard body and as a bulge for adjusting unevenness. In this way, a baseboard with an adjustable unevenness can be completed simply by attaching one decorative sheet to the baseboard body, so that the raw material cost of the baseboard can be reduced and the workability of manufacturing the baseboard can be improved compared to the case where an elastic material is separately attached to the lower end of the baseboard.

Below, an embodiment of the baseboard according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. The baseboard 1 of this embodiment is an interior trim material for a house, placed along the boundary 4 between a wall surface 2 and a floor surface 3. Note that the baseboard 1 is not limited to being installed in a house, but may be installed at the boundary 4 between a wall surface 2 and a floor surface 3 of various buildings, both residential and non-residential.

As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the skirting board 1 has a skirting board body 5 formed in a plate shape and a decorative sheet 6 attached to the surface of the skirting board body 5. The skirting board body 5 is formed of a molded board made of wood fibers such as MDF (medium density fiberboard). The skirting board body 5 is not limited to this, and may be, for example, other wood boards or resin boards. When the upper end is placed at the boundary 4 between the wall surface 2 and the floor surface 3, the skirting board body 5 has an upper surface 11 formed horizontally and a front surface 12 and a rear surface 13 arranged vertically. In addition, the lower surface 14 of the skirting board body 5 is formed in a flat shape with the front surface 12 side being lower and the rear surface 13 side being higher, and the angle between the lower surface 14 of the skirting board body 5 and the front surface 12 is formed at an acute angle. In this embodiment, the front surface 12 of the baseboard body 5 refers to the surface opposite the wall surface 2 when the baseboard 1 is placed along the boundary 4 between the wall surface 2 and the floor surface 3, and the rear surface 13 of the baseboard body 5 refers to the surface facing the wall surface 2 when the baseboard 1 is placed along the boundary 4 between the wall surface 2 and the floor surface 3.

A horizontal groove 15 is formed on the front surface 12 of the baseboard body 5. Note that the shape of the front surface 12 of the baseboard body 5 is not limited to this, and it may be formed flat without the groove 15, or may have two or more grooves. It may have a shape according to the needs of the design of the front surface of the baseboard 1, or to make the joining material when fixing the baseboard 1 to the wall surface 2 less noticeable.

The decorative sheet 6 is made of synthetic resin such as polyethylene or polypropylene, and is a flexible sheet with a surface that displays colors and patterns that enhance the design of the skirting board 1. The decorative sheet 6 is adhered from the top of the rear surface 13 of the skirting board body 5 to the top surface 11 and front surface 12 of the skirting board body 5, and is turned from the lower end of the front surface 12 to the lower side of the skirting board body 5 with a margin and adhered to the lower part of the rear surface 13 of the skirting board body 5. The decorative sheet 6 is bent along the shape of the horizontal groove 15 on the front surface 12 of the skirting board body 5 and adhered to the inside of the groove 15. The decorative sheet 6 is not attached to the lower surface 14 of the skirting board body 5, and a cavity is formed between the lower surface 14 of the skirting board body 5 and the decorative sheet 6. The bent and bulging part of the decorative sheet 6 below the lower surface 14 of the skirting board body 5 is called the bulging part 7.

As shown in FIG. 3, the skirting board 1 is arranged along the boundary 4 between the floor surface 3 and the wall surface 2, and is fixed by, for example, driving a hidden nail 8 into the bottom of a horizontal groove 15 formed in the front surface 12 of the skirting board 1. When the skirting board 1 is fixed, the bulge 7 is pressed against the floor surface 3 and deforms according to the shape of the floor surface 3, filling the gap between the floor surface 3 and the skirting board body 5. The bottom surface 14 of the skirting board body 5 is inclined so that it is lower on the front surface 12 side and higher toward the rear surface 13 side, so that a space 9 that is not exposed to the interior side and is approximately triangular in side view is formed by the wall surface 2, the floor surface 3, and the bottom surface 14 of the skirting board body 5, and the excess part of the decorative sheet 6 of the deformed bulge 7 is hidden in this space 9, thereby suppressing a decrease in the design on the interior side.

For example, as shown in Figure 4, if the upper frame 31 of the stairs is about 0.5 mm higher than the flooring 32 of the upper floor, and the baseboard 1 is fixed across the upper frame 31 and the flooring 32, on the upper frame 31 side, the end of the front surface 12 side of the underside 14 of the baseboard main body 5 is pressed against the upper frame 31 with the decorative sheet 6 in between, as shown in Figure 3. In other words, the distance α between the end of the front surface 12 side of the underside 14 of the baseboard main body 5 and the floor surface 3a is equal to the thickness of the decorative sheet 6. At this time, the bulge 7 of the decorative sheet 6 is pressed against the floor surface 3a of the upper frame 31 and deformed into a shape that conforms to the floor surface 3a. On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 5, on the flooring 32 side, the floor surface 3b of the flooring 32 is lower than the floor surface 3a of the upper frame 31, so a distance β greater than or equal to the thickness of the decorative sheet 6 is formed between the end of the front surface 12 side of the underside 14 of the baseboard body 5 and the floor surface 3b of the flooring 32. The bulge 7 of the decorative sheet 6 is arranged to hang down into this gap β, so that when viewed from the inside of the room, the baseboard 1 appears to be arranged along the floor surface 3 without any gaps, which prevents the interior design from deteriorating.

When manufacturing such a skirting board 1, the MDF board is molded to form the skirting board body 5, and the skirting board body 5 is supplied to the manufacturing line. Then, while pulling out the decorative sheet 6, which is wound in a roll (not shown), adhesive (not shown) is applied to the back surface of the decorative sheet 6, and the decorative sheet 6 is attached to the front surface 12 of the skirting board body 5 while leaving both ends in excess, as shown in FIG. 6. The decorative sheet 6 is then pressed against the upper surface 11 and the upper part of the rear surface 13 of the skirting board body 5 so as not to slacken, and attached. Furthermore, the decorative sheet 6 is turned to the rear surface 13 while leaving a distance between the lower end of the front surface 12 of the skirting board body 5 and the lower surface 14 of the skirting board body 5, and pressed against the lower part of the rear surface 13 to be attached. The decorative sheet 6 loosened on the lower surface 14 of the skirting board body 5 is allowed to dry without being attached to the skirting board body 5, forming a bulge 7.

In this way, according to the manufacturing method for baseboards of this embodiment, one decorative sheet 6 can serve both as a decorative material for the surface of the baseboard body 5 and as a bulge 7 for adjusting unevenness. The baseboard 1 that can be adjusted for unevenness can be completed simply by attaching one decorative sheet 6 to the baseboard body 5. This reduces the raw material costs of the baseboard 1 and improves the workability of manufacturing the baseboard 1 compared to the case where an elastic material is separately attached to the bottom end of the baseboard.
