Description

The present invention relates to a gutter cover that covers the upper openings of gutters and catch basins while ensuring water permeability.

For example, gutter covers that cover the upper openings of gutters, etc., are also called gratings and are widely used on sidewalks, roads, etc., allowing rainwater falling during rainy weather to flow into the gutter while allowing people to walk or drive on the gutter cover.
However, when it rains, as shown in Figure 11, garbage RF such as sand and mud on the road surface flows into the gutter cover BG together with rainwater and accumulates on the step 910 of the gutter 9. Since the garbage RF accumulates on the step surface 910 close to the ground surface GL, it is easy to see and spoils the scenery. In addition, regular cleaning is a laborious task, and therefore requires cleaning costs.
For this reason, gratings have been proposed that prevent the accumulation of waste RF (for example, see Patent Document 1).

However, as described in claim 1 of Patent Document 1, "...a foreign matter accumulation prevention device for a grating gutter cover, characterized in that covering members are provided on both side edges of the grating gutter cover to cover the receiving edge," and in addition to the grating gutter cover, a separate covering member to prevent debris from accumulating was required. In addition to the increased cost of the covering member, the increased number of parts results in higher management and transportation costs.

The present invention aims to solve the above problems by providing a gutter cover that prevents debris from accumulating on the stepped portion of a gutter without increasing the number of parts.

In order to achieve the above object, the gist of the invention described in claim 1 is a belt comprising a plurality of main members arranged parallel to each other and standing upright in the belt width direction, connecting members arranged in a lattice pattern with the main members, a pair of end plates arranged in parallel on both outsides of the main members and fixed to both ends of the connecting members, and a pair of side plates fixed to both side ends of the main members and forming a rectangular frame portion together with the end plates, wherein both side plates leave a base portion including one side edge in the longitudinal direction of the belt in the belt width direction, and are provided with a comb-tooth-shaped plate portion on the other side edge side from the other side edge to the one side edge, the comb-tooth-shaped plate portion having comb-tooth-shaped notches formed in accordance with the arrangement pitch of the main members, and further have a bending portion that bends at a boundary region between the base portion and the comb-tooth-shaped plate portion. This gutter cover is characterized in that it is formed on a side support plate, the base portion of the bent side support plate stands up in the width direction and is fixed to the upper part of the side end of the main member so that the upper edge of the base portion coincides with the upper point of each side end of the main member, the comb-tooth-shaped plate portion extends from the underside of the standing base portion toward the longitudinal center of the main member while sandwiching the main member, the upper surface of the tongue plate portion of the comb-tooth-shaped plate portion is formed as a downwardly sloping surface toward the tip, and when installed in a gutter, the tip of the tongue plate portion extends beyond the step portion of the gutter and onto the flow path of the gutter or is positioned close to the side wall portion of the gutter, and the tongue plate portion of the bent side support plate covers the overhead of the step portion of the gutter.
The gutter cover of the invention of claim 2 is characterized in that, in claim 1, the lower end of the downwardly inclined surface of the tongue plate portion is positioned higher than the lower edge of the main member, and a floating portion is provided in the tongue plate portion.

(Action)
As in the invention of claim 1, the comb-tooth-shaped plate portion is fixed to the upper side end of the main member, and extends from the underside of the upright base portion toward the longitudinal center of the main member, so as to sandwich the main member, and the upper surface of the tongue plate portion relating to the comb-tooth-shaped plate portion is formed as a downwardly sloping surface toward the tip, so that if there is debris around the falling rainwater, it will take the debris with it and flow down from the square frame portion, over the downwardly sloping surface of the tongue plate portion, and into the gutter.
The step portion of the gutter is covered above with the tongue portion, so that garbage cannot get into the step portion.

In the gutter cover of the present invention, when a bent side plate with a tongue portion that covers the overhead of the step portion of the gutter is used as a component to replace the side plate of a conventional gutter cover, the flow of rainwater carries garbage with it and makes it flow down the tongue portion and reach the inside of the gutter without increasing the number of parts. This prevents garbage from accumulating in the step portion, saves the effort and cost of garbage removal, and keeps the step portion clean at all times, which is an excellent effect that helps improve the scenery.

The gutter cover according to the present invention will be described in detail below.
(1) Embodiment 1
The gutter cover G comprises a plurality of main members 1, connecting members 2, a pair of end plates 4, and a pair of side support plates 5. The gutter cover G here is a grating as shown in Figures 1 to 4 that covers the upper opening of a side gutter 9. A receiving frame 6 having an L-shaped cross section is fixedly installed on a stepped portion 910 of the side gutter 9 that is one step lower than the road surface GL, and the gutter cover G is supported by the stepped portion 910 via the receiving frame 6.

The main member 1 is a strip-shaped metal product made of carbon steel, stainless steel, or the like, with a length that matches the width of the gutter 9 so as to straddle the gutter. The main members 1, commonly called I-bars or flat bars, with a cross-sectional shape in the longitudinal direction, are arranged parallel to each other at a constant pitch, standing up and down in the width direction. In this embodiment, an I-bar main member 1 is used, but is illustrated simply. Here, the "up and down", "upper side", and "lower side" in "the main member 1 standing up and down in the width direction" in this invention literally refer to the top and bottom, upper side, and lower side of the paper in the case of the gutter cover G in Figure 3 installed in the gutter 9.
A plurality of main members 1 are arranged at a predetermined pitch in the longitudinal direction of the gutter 9 to form a gutter cover G. When the gutter 9 is covered, each main member 1 becomes a major part of the gutter cover G that bears the load from above the gutter opening. For this reason, they are also called bearing bars or main bars.
The strip-shaped main members 1 are assembled into a gutter cover G by arranging them in parallel with the strip width direction being vertical and leaving a gap between adjacent main members 1.

The connecting members 2 are metal members that are perpendicular to the main members 1 and form a lattice shape together with the main members 1. The lattice shape of the connecting members 2 and the main members 1 forms slits S. When it rains, rain turns into rainwater, runs along the road surface GL, reaches the gutter cover G, and falls into the gutter 9 through the slits S. The road surface GL in Figures 1 to 7 represents the upper surface of the side wall of the U-shaped gutter.
In this embodiment, a metal rod-shaped material called a twist bar is used as the connecting material 2 (FIGS. 1 to 4). When there are multiple connecting materials 2, they are arranged in parallel at a predetermined pitch as shown in FIG.

The end plates 4 are a pair of band-like bodies fixed to both ends 21 of the connecting material 2, and have approximately the same band width and length as the main members 1. The end plates 4 are erected in the band width direction and disposed parallel to the main members 1 on both outsides of the main members 1. Unlike the main members 1, the end plates 4 may be made of flat steel, but the end plates 4 in this example use the same I-bars as the main members 1. The gap width between the end plates 4 and the outermost main members 1 is adjusted to the slit width SW between the main members 1.
The end plate 4, main member 1, and connecting members 2 are the same as the components of a known gutter cover G. After the end plate 4 and each main member 1 are erected in the width direction and arranged at a specified pitch, connecting members 2 are placed on the upper thickness surface of the end plate 4 and the upper thickness surface of each main member 1 at a specified interval so as to be perpendicular to them. The end plate 4, each main member 1, and connecting members 2 are then electrically pressure-welded and fixed to form a lattice shape, and both side ends 11 of all the main members 1 are fixed to side backing plates 5, which will be described next, to assemble this gutter cover G, which is a vertically long rectangular board, as shown in Figure 1.

The side support plates 5 are a pair of long metal members which, together with the pair of end plates 4, form the rectangular frame portion 3 (FIG. 5A). In conventional gutter covers BG, the rectangular frame portion 3 is formed by side plates f made of flat steel strips, but in the present invention, at least one of the pair of side support plates 5 is formed with a bent side support plate 5A, which is a characteristic feature of the present invention.
In this embodiment, both side plates 5 are bent side plates 5A. A base portion 51 including one side edge 5a in the longitudinal direction of the band plate is left with a certain width in the band width direction. Then, a comb-tooth plate portion 52 having comb-tooth-shaped notches 520 formed therein in accordance with the arrangement pitch of the main member 1 is provided on the other side edge 5b side from the other side edge 5b toward the one side edge 5a, and is further folded at a boundary region 55 between the base portion 51 and the comb-tooth plate portion 52 to form a bent side plate 5A. Reference numeral 551 indicates a bending line. As shown in FIG. 3 to FIG. 5, the base portion 51 is left as it is as the base portion 511 in the band width direction for about 1/3 of the band width length from one side edge of the band plate, and a notch 520 is provided in the remaining length of about 2/3 of the band width length from the other side edge toward the one side edge, forming the comb-tooth plate portion 52. The width of the notch 520 corresponds to the thickness t of the main member, and a width is ensured such that when the groove cover G is completed, the adjacent tongue plate portion 521 of the comb-tooth plate portion 52 is closely sandwiched against the main plate surface 12 of the main member 1, as shown in Figure 4.

The base portion 51 of the bending side support plate 5A stands up in the band width direction, and the base surface 511 of the base portion 51 is fixed to the upper side end 111 of the main member 1. From the underside of the standing base portion 51, the comb-tooth plate portion 52 extends from the main member side end 11 toward the longitudinal center of the main member 1 while sandwiching the main member 1, and the upper surface 521a of the tongue plate portion 521 related to the comb-tooth plate portion 52 is formed into a downwardly sloping surface toward the tip. One or more bending side support plates 5A are made from a single band plate by cutting and bending processes.

In this embodiment, one side edge 5a of the base portion 51 stands up, and the height of the base portion 51 is set to about 1/2 of the band width height of the main member 1. As shown in Fig. 2, the upper edge of the base portion 51 (which becomes one side edge 5a of the bent side contact plate 5A) is aligned with the upper point of each main member side end 11, and the comb-tooth plate portion 52 arranged below the base portion 51 is in a state in which the main member 1 is sandwiched from the one side end 11 of the main member as shown in Fig. 4, and the base portion 51 is fixed to the side end upper portion 111 of the main member 1.
Here, in the conventional gutter cover BG, the side plate f corresponding to the bent side support plate 5A is a member that is fixed to both side ends 11 of the main member 1 that covers the top opening of the gutter cover BG and maintains its strength as a cover, and maintains the width direction of the main member 1 in an upright state (FIG. 11). Therefore, even if the present gutter cover G is formed in which the base portion 51 is approximately 1/2 the width height of the main member 1 and is fixed to the side end upper portion 111 of the main member 1, there is no problem because the base portion 51 can maintain each main member 1 upright.

In addition, the bent side support plate 5A has a comb-tooth-shaped plate portion 52 extending from the underside of a base portion 51 fixed to the upper side end portion 111 of the main member 1 toward the center of the band-shaped main member 1. When this gutter cover G is installed on a gutter 9, the comb-tooth-shaped plate portion 52 covers the step portion 910 of the gutter 9 like an eave. In other words, a tongue plate portion 521 of the comb-tooth-shaped plate portion 52 projects while inclining downward from the base portion 51 toward the center of the gutter 9. The tongue plate portion 521 is tongue-shaped and is arranged so that both sides of the tongue plate portion 521 are in contact with or close to the main plate surface 12 of the main member 1, which stands up, as shown in Figure 4.
When rain falls during rainy weather, as shown by the arrows in Figures 3 and 4, it crawls over the road surface GL and turns into rainwater and heads toward the inside of the gutter cover G, and flows over the inclined tongue portion 521 of the bent side support plate 5A, and the force of the rainwater flowing down the inclined surface carries the garbage RF along with it and allows it to flow down into the gutter 9, resulting in the desired gutter cover G.

Here, it is more preferable that the tip of the tongue plate portion 521 extends beyond the step portion 910 onto the flow path 90 of the gutter 9, but if the tip of the tongue plate portion 521 is disposed close to the side wall portion 91 of the gutter 9 as shown in Fig. 4, there is no particular problem even if the step portion 910 is slightly exposed between the tip of the tongue plate portion 521 and the gutter flow path 90. This is because the force of the rainwater flowing down the inclined surface on the tongue plate portion 521 can wash down the waste RF entrained in the rainwater into the gutter flow path 90.
4, the lower end of the downwardly sloping surface of the tongue plate portion 521 of the comb-tooth plate portion 52 is disposed above the lower edge of the main member 1. If the lower end of the downwardly sloping tongue plate portion 521 stops at an upper position just slightly in front of the lower end of the main member 1, a floating portion α is formed in the tongue plate portion 521, resulting in a more preferable gutter cover G. This is because the tongue plate portion 521 does not protrude from the lower surface of the gutter cover G, so that it does not wobble or damage the road surface GL when placed on it, and furthermore, multiple gutter covers G can be stacked closely together during transportation, etc.

The bent side support plate 5A can be manufactured, for example, as follows. First, comb-tooth-shaped notches 520 as shown in Fig. 5(c) and (d) are formed in a vertical strip of flat steel or the like by press working or laser processing in accordance with the arrangement pitch of the main members 1. Unlike press working, which requires a mold, laser processing is adopted here, which can be easily handled at low cost even in small lots if programmed. Next, using a bending machine or the like, the vertical strip is bent at or near a line connecting the notch bottoms 5201 of the notches 520 so that a bending line 551 is formed in the longitudinal direction of the vertical strip with the notches 520, to obtain the bent side support plate 5A as shown in Fig. 5(a) and (b) which is bent at the boundary region 55 between the base portion 51 on one side edge 5a side and the comb-tooth-shaped plate portion 52 with the notches 520. As shown in FIG. 5B, in a side view of the bending side support plate 5A, a tongue plate portion 521 of a comb-tooth plate portion 52 extends from the lower end of a vertically standing base portion 51 toward the tip, inclining downward from the horizontal.
As described above, referring to the refraction side support plate 5A on the left side of Figure 3, the refraction side support plate 5A of this embodiment is constructed so that the comb-tooth-shaped plate portion 52 slopes downward from the lower end to the tip at an obtuse angle of approximately 120° clockwise from the lower end of the upright base portion 51.
Symbol 5202 indicates a cutout wall, symbol 61 indicates the bottom plate portion of the receiving frame 6, symbol 62 indicates the upright plate portion of the receiving frame 6, symbol Ga indicates the upper surface of the groove cover G, and symbol CL indicates the enclosed space surrounded by the lower part of the main member 1, the tongue plate portion 521, and the step portion 910 (more specifically, the receiving frame 6).

The present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, and many modifications are possible within the technical concept of the present invention. The scope of application is not limited to the gutter covers G shown in Figures 1 to 5, but also includes gutter covers G shown in Figures 6 and 7. Figure 6 shows a drop-in type gutter cover G with height-raising members fixed to both sides of the underside of the gutter cover shown in Figure 2. This is applied to gutters 9 in which the step portion 910 from the road surface GL is deeper as shown in Figure 6 compared to Figure 2.
7 shows a bolt-fixed type gutter cover G, which is fixed to a stepped portion 910 by bolts. The gutter cover G is fixed to the gutter 9 by passing the bolt shaft of a stud bolt BT provided in the stepped portion 910 through a hole in a base plate BP fixed to the main member 1 and the bending side support plate 5A, and screwing the bolt shaft to the gutter 9 with a cap nut N via a washer WH. The points where the cap nuts N are bolted are provided, for example, at the four corners of the rectangular gutter cover G in a plan view. The symbol PL indicates a reinforcing plate. In the right bending side support plate 5A to which the base plate BP is attached, the tongue plate portion 521 is not bent at the point where the base plate BP is attached, but is a plate portion that extends straight down from the base portion 51 to the lower end of the comb-tooth plate portion 52 as shown in the figure.
Furthermore, although not shown in the drawings, the gutter cover G can be made substantially square in plan view and used as a catch basin, for example, since it provides the same effects and advantages as the present invention.

(2) Reference Form 2
The gutter cover G of this embodiment is a gutter cover G as shown in FIGS.
9, the bent side contact plate 5 for the side contact plate 5 includes a base portion 51 and a comb-tooth-shaped plate portion 52. The base portion 51 including one side edge 5a in the longitudinal direction of the band plate is left in the band width direction, and the comb-tooth-shaped plate portion 52 having comb-tooth-shaped notches 520 formed in accordance with the arrangement pitch of the main members 1 is provided on the other side edge 5b side from the other side edge 5b toward the one side edge 5a, and further formed into a bent side contact plate 5A that is bent at a boundary region 55 between the base portion 51 and the comb-tooth-shaped plate portion 52, and the basic configuration is substantially the same as that of the first embodiment.

However, in this bent side support plate 5A, the base portion 51 stands up in the width direction and is fixed to the upper side end portion 111 of the main member 1, and the comb-tooth-shaped plate portion 52 extends from the upper side of the standing base portion 51 toward the longitudinal center of the main member 1 while sandwiching the main member 1, and the upper surface 521a of the tongue plate portion 521 relating to the comb-tooth-shaped plate portion 52 is formed as a downwardly sloping surface toward the tip.
10, the tongue plate portion 521 is inclined downward from the upper end of the base portion 51 toward the tip at an acute angle of about 60° counterclockwise from the upper end of the base portion 51 fixed to the upper side end portion 111 of the main member 1. The base portion 51 is fixed to the upper side end portion 111 of the main member 1 with the straight side edge 5a side facing downward.
Even if the size of the base portion 51 is substantially the same as that of the first embodiment, the tongue portion 521 can extend from a high position at the upper end of the base portion 51 toward the center of the main member 1, so that the inclined surface of the tongue portion 521 can be lengthened as shown in the figure. By lengthening the tongue portion 521 from a high position, the tongue portion 521 can almost completely cover the head of the step portion 910, and garbage accumulation on the step portion 910 can be eliminated. Furthermore, as shown in Fig. 10, the tongue portion 521 forms a downward inclined surface from the upper edge of the frame portion 3 that leads to the slit S of the gutter cover G toward the center in the width direction of the gutter 9, so that the tongue portion 521 actively leads rainwater from the road surface GL into the gutter 9, resulting in a gutter cover G with improved rainwater intake performance.

The groove cover G of this embodiment is also configured such that the lower end of the downwardly inclined surface of the tongue plate portion 521 is disposed above the lower edge of the main member 1. Although one of the pair of side plates 5 of the groove cover G may be the bending side plate 5A, as shown in the figure, both are bending side plates 5A. The end plate 4 is made the same as that of the main member 1.
The configurations of the other main members 1, the connecting members 2, the end plates 4, etc. are the same as those of the first embodiment, and therefore the description thereof will be omitted. The same reference numerals as those of the first embodiment indicate the same or corresponding parts.

(3) Effect When the gutter cover G constructed in this manner has the base portion 51 fixed to the upper side end portion 111 of the main member 1, and the tongue plate portion 521 relating to the comb-tooth-shaped plate portion 52 sandwiches the main member 1 from the lower or upper side of the base portion 51, while the upper surface of the tongue plate portion 521 is formed into a downwardly sloping surface toward the longitudinal center of the main member 1, the tongue plate portion 521 covers the upper side of the step portion 910 of the gutter 9 like a eave, so that waste RF does not accumulate in the step portion 910 (more specifically, the receiving frame 6).
Rainwater that runs along the road surface GL and heads toward the inside of the gutter cover G passes through the slits S in the gutter cover G and flows down on the inclined tongue plate portion 521 of the bent side support plate 5A that constitutes the frame portion 3. When this gutter cover G is installed on the gutter 9, the tongue plate portions 521 in the form of tongue pieces cover the slits S between the main members 1 of the gutter cover G above the step portion 910 like eaves, so that garbage RF does not get in and accumulate in the step portion 910 (more specifically, the bottom plate portion 61 of the receiving frame 6). The upper surface side of the step portion 910 is in a state of sheltering from the rain under the eaves by the tongue plate portions 521 that become eaves, so that garbage RF does not get in the step portion 910. If both of the pair of side support plates 5 are bent side support plates 5A, garbage RF can be prevented from accumulating in the step portions 910 on both sides of the gutter 9. This is effective in improving the scenery by preventing the accumulation of garbage RF in the gutter step portion 910 and in reducing the burden of removing the garbage RF during regular maintenance.

Moreover, the effect of preventing the accumulation of waste RF in the step portion 910 is obtained by the bent side support plate 5A which simply replaces the side plate f, also called an end plate, present in the conventional groove cover G, and does not require a separate covering member as in Patent Document 1, and does not increase the number of parts, resulting in an extremely excellent groove cover G. It is possible to avoid the increase in costs associated with an increase in parts and the increased burden of ordering parts and managing inventory.
Furthermore, since the end plate 4 is made of the main member 1, the gutter cover G can be easily assembled using only three parts: the main member 1, the connecting member 2, and the bent side support plate 5A, which greatly contributes to parts management, cost reduction, etc.

Furthermore, if the lower end of the downwardly inclined surface of the tongue plate portion 521 is positioned above the lower edge of the main member 1, multiple gutter covers G can be stacked without gaps. Even when multiple gutter covers G are stacked with the longitudinal direction of the main member 1 standing upright, gaps between the gutter covers G can be eliminated, leading to improved work in transporting and handling the gutter covers G.

Moreover, in the reference form 2, the base portion 51 is fixed to the upper side end 111 of the main member 1, and the upper surface 521a of the tongue portion 521 is formed as a downward sloping surface from the upper side of the base portion 51 toward the tip, which also improves the rainwater intake performance. When rainwater flows into the gutter cover G placed on the step portion 910 in Figure 10 due to a torrential rain, the air in the enclosed space CL (see Figure 4) enclosed by the tongue portion 521 and the step portion 910 is drawn in by the flow of rainwater and taken away. When the air is taken away, the pressure in the enclosed space CL is reduced, and the rainwater flowing on the tongue portion 521 is then guided into the gutter 9 by the force of this reduced pressure, improving the rainwater intake performance and suppressing the overflow phenomenon.

Incidentally, the gutter cover G of the first embodiment also forms an enclosed space CL, which has the effect of suppressing the overflow phenomenon, although not to the same extent as the gutter cover G of the reference form 2. Moreover, the appearance of the gutter cover G of the first embodiment as seen from above the road surface GL is at first glance no different from that of a conventional product. In addition, since the tongue plate portion 521 forms a downwardly sloping surface near the step portion 910, the length of the tongue plate portion 521 of the reference form 2 can be made shorter and lighter, and the weight is not much different from that of the conventional side plate f because of the cutout 520.
And yet, the garbage RF entering the gutter cover from the road surface GL is made to flow down into the gutter flow path 90 together with rainwater by utilizing the drop of the downward inclined surface of the tongue plate part 521, and the gutter cover G itself has an autonomous function of not allowing the garbage RF to accumulate in the gutter step part 910.
In this way, the gutter cover G of the present invention exhibits the various excellent effects described above and is extremely beneficial.

The present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, and can be modified in various ways within the scope of the present invention depending on the purpose and application.
