Description

The present invention relates to a pest control device. More specifically, the present invention relates to a pest control device that is wrapped around trees, such as fruit trees, to exterminate pests that pass through the trees and prevent the pests from harming the fruit, etc.

Conventionally, this type of pest control device is known, for example from Patent Document 1. The pest control device disclosed in Patent Document 1 comprises a belt-shaped member that is wrapped around a tree in a cylindrical shape, and a number of roughly rectangular sponges that are impregnated with a pest control agent (chemical solution) and arranged in series at a predetermined interval approximately in the center of the inner surface of the belt-shaped member (the surface that faces the tree when wrapped around the tree). The belt-shaped member is then wrapped around the tree, and pests are guided to the sponges impregnated with the chemical solution on the inner surface of the belt-shaped member, thereby exterminating the pests.

Previously, there have also been proposed pest repellent adhesive tapes with a laminated structure in which a pest repellent-permeable sustained-release substrate is attached to one side of an adhesive layer impregnated with a pest repellent (medicinal liquid) (see, for example, Patent Document 2, etc.), as well as slug repellent tapes in which a synthetic resin material with an adhesive attached to the back side is impregnated with a repellent (medicinal liquid) and formed into a tape, or in which a repellent is applied to the surface of the tape (see, for example, Patent Document 3, etc.).

特許第2937953号公報Patent No. 2937953 特開平9-67210号公報Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 9-67210 特開2002-171892号公報JP 2002-171892 A

By using the methods proposed in Patent Documents 2 and 3, a chemical solution is retained on the surface of the tape applied to tree trunks, etc., or the chemical solution is released from the surface of the tape, which dislikes pests and makes it possible to repel the pests.
However, in the methods proposed in Patent Documents 2 and 3, although it is possible to repel pests, it is difficult to exterminate the pests. The use of a highly toxic chemical solution that can exterminate the pests simply by the pests passing over the tape is undesirable in terms of the impact on the environment, while if a less toxic chemical solution is used, the time that the pests come into contact with the chemical solution is short when the pests simply pass over the tape, so that the pests may be repelled but not exterminated.

Therefore, in Patent Document 1, a maze is formed on the inner surface of a belt-shaped member that is wrapped around trees, thereby lengthening the time that pests are in contact with the chemical solution and thereby exterminating the pests.
However, since pests come in a variety of sizes, it is difficult to construct a maze that can accommodate a wide range of pests, from small to large. In addition, when the surface of the tree around which the belt-shaped member is wrapped is very uneven, it is difficult to guide the pests into the maze.

The present invention was made to solve the above problems in the conventional technology, and aims to provide a pest control device that allows for easy, stable, and reliable pest control over a long period of time, regardless of the location where it is installed or the size of the pests.

In order to achieve the above object, the configuration of the pest control device according to the present invention is as follows:
(1) A device comprising a band-shaped member incorporating a water-retaining member extending in the longitudinal direction, a chemical solution container for storing a chemical solution, and a chemical solution supply member for sucking up the chemical solution in the chemical solution container and supplying it to the water-retaining member, wherein the band-shaped member is made of two types of members: an impermeable member on the back side through which the chemical solution from the water-retaining member does not penetrate, and a permeable member on the front side through which the chemical solution from the water-retaining member penetrates.

The above-mentioned configuration (1) of the pest-control device of the present invention has the following operational effects.
That is, according to the above-mentioned configuration (1), the belt-shaped member includes a water-retaining member that is continuously supplied with the chemical solution from the chemical solution container, and the belt-shaped member is made of two types of members, an impermeable member on the back side where the chemical solution from the water-retaining member does not permeate, and a permeable member on the front side where the chemical solution from the water-retaining member permeates. Therefore, even if the concentration of the chemical solution permeated into the permeable member is diluted by rain or the like, the chemical solution from the water-retaining member can be reliably replenished and permeated into the permeable member without escaping to the back side, and the original concentration can be restored. Even if the permeable member is dried by wind, the chemical solution from the water-retaining member can be reliably replenished and permeated into the permeable member. Furthermore, by using a pest control chemical solution for exterminating pests as the chemical solution and making the permeable member have a surface that makes it difficult for pests to get their feet caught and pass through, pests passing over the belt-shaped member can be kept in contact with the extermination chemical solution for a long time. Therefore, pests passing over the belt-shaped member can be reliably exterminated. Furthermore, since pests simply pass over the belt-shaped member, it is possible to cover pests of all sizes, from small to large, and it can be installed in any location.
Therefore, according to the above configuration (1), a pest control device can be provided that enables pest control to be performed simply, stably and reliably over a long period of time, regardless of the installation location or the size of the pests.

In the above-mentioned configuration (1) of the pest control device of the present invention, it is preferable to configure it as described below in (2) to (5).

(2) In the configuration of (1) above, the water-retaining members are arranged at a predetermined interval in the width direction of the belt-shaped member, and the space between adjacent water-retaining members is made of an impermeable material on both the front and back sides.

According to the preferred configuration of (2) above, since multiple water-retentive members holding different extermination liquids or attractant liquids can be provided at the same time, it becomes possible to exterminate multiple types of pests. In addition, since the pests can be exterminated with the extermination liquid after being attracted with the attractant liquid, it becomes possible to exterminate a larger number of pests. Furthermore, since the space between adjacent water-retentive members is made of an impermeable member on both the front and back sides, it becomes possible to prevent the liquids that have permeated (leaked out) into the permeable members on adjacent water-retentive members from mixing with each other.

(3) In the configuration of (1) or (2) above, if the chemical solution that permeates the permeable member is a pest control chemical solution that exterminates pests, the permeable member has a surface that makes it difficult for pests to pass through by getting their feet caught, and if the chemical solution that permeates the permeable member is an attractant chemical solution that attracts pests, the permeable member has a surface that allows pests to pass through easily.

The preferable configuration of (3) above provides the following effects.
That is, according to the above-mentioned configuration (3), the permeable member through which the extermination liquid permeates has a surface that makes it difficult for pests to get their feet caught and pass through, so that the pests can be kept in contact with the extermination liquid for a long time. This makes it possible not only to repel pests but also to completely exterminate them. And because the pests can be kept in contact with the extermination liquid for a long time in this way, it becomes possible to exterminate pests without using a highly toxic liquid.
In addition, the permeable member through which the attractant liquid permeates has a surface that allows pests to pass through smoothly, so that pests that are attracted to the attractant liquid and approach can be smoothly moved to the permeable member permeated with the extermination liquid.

(4) In any of the configurations (1) to (3) above, the drug solution supplying member is covered with a drug solution-impermeable cover that does not allow the drug solution to penetrate from the connection point with the water retention member to the inlet of the drug solution container or a point located at the top of the drug solution container.

The preferred configuration of (4) above makes it possible to prevent the chemical solution from evaporating before it reaches the water-retaining member.

(5) In any of the configurations (1) to (4) above, a connection portion is provided at least at the end of the strip member opposite the side on which the drug solution supply member is present.

According to the preferred configuration of (5) above, for example, by joining the connecting parts of two belt-shaped members, these belt-shaped members can be connected in the longitudinal direction, thereby increasing the length of the pest control device. This makes it possible to deal with large trees, etc.

The present invention provides a pest control device that allows for easy, stable, and reliable pest control over a long period of time, regardless of the location where it is installed or the size of the pests.

The present invention will be described in more detail below using preferred embodiments. However, the following embodiments are merely examples of the present invention, and the present invention is not limited thereto.

[Configuration of pest control device]
First, the configuration of a pest-control device (pest-control belt) according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Figs. 1 and 2.

Figure 1 is a schematic plan view showing the general configuration of a pest control device in this embodiment, and Figure 2 is a schematic plan view showing the pest control device with the penetration member removed. Note that the length, size, spacing, etc. of each component shown in the figure differ from the actual ones for the convenience of creating the drawings.

As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the pest control device 1 of this embodiment includes a belt-shaped member 2 incorporating first and second two water retention members 2a and 2b extending in the longitudinal direction. Here, the two water retention members 2a and 2b are arranged at a predetermined interval in the width direction of the belt-shaped member 2. The pest control device 1 also includes a first liquid medicine container 3a that stores a pest control liquid for exterminating pests, and a first liquid medicine supply member 4a that sucks up the pest control liquid in the first liquid medicine container 3a by capillary action and supplies it to the first water retention member 2a. The pest control device 1 also includes a second liquid medicine container 3b that stores an attractant liquid for attracting pests, and a second liquid medicine supply member 4b that sucks up the attractant liquid in the second liquid medicine container 3b by capillary action and supplies it to the second water retention member 2b.
The first chemical solution supplying member 4a has one end connected to the first water retention member 2a and the other end introduced into the first chemical solution container 3a. The second chemical solution supplying member 4b has one end connected to the second water retention member 2b and the other end introduced into the second chemical solution container 3b. The end of the belt-shaped member 2 on the side where the first and second chemical solution supplying members 4a, 4b are not present is closed.

The belt-shaped member 2 is composed of two types of members: an impermeable member 2e on the back side, which is not permeable by the chemical solutions (control chemical solution and attractant chemical solution) from the first and second water-retaining members 2a, 2b, and first and second permeable members 2c, 2d on the front side extending in the longitudinal direction of the belt-shaped member 2, which are permeable by the chemical solutions (control chemical solution and attractant chemical solution) from the first and second water-retaining members 2a, 2b, respectively.
More specifically, the belt-shaped member 2 is composed of a base member (impermeable member) 2e that is impermeable to chemical solutions, on which the first and second two water retention members 2a, 2b are placed and fixed, and first and second permeable members 2c, 2d that are arranged and fixed so as to cover the water retention members 2a, 2b, respectively, with a predetermined gap therebetween in the width direction of the belt-shaped member 2. As a result, the space between the first and second two adjacent water retention members 2a, 2b is composed of impermeable members on both the front and back sides.
In addition, an impermeable member extending in the longitudinal direction of the belt-shaped member 2 may be further positioned and fixed on the surface of the belt-shaped member 2 so as to overlap the opposing edges of the first and second permeable members 2c, 2d.

The configuration of the pest-control device 1 of this embodiment provides the following operational effects.
In other words, according to this configuration, a belt-shaped member 2 is provided which incorporates first and second water-retaining members 2a, 2b to which the chemical solution is continuously supplied from the first and second chemical solution containers 3a, 3b, respectively, and the belt-shaped member 2 is made of two types of members: an impermeable member 2e on the back side through which the chemical solution from the first and second water-retaining members 2a, 2b does not penetrate, and first and second permeable members 2c, 2d on the front side extending in the longitudinal direction of the belt-shaped member 2 through which the chemical solutions from the first and second water-retaining members 2a, 2b respectively penetrate. Therefore, even if the concentration of the chemical solution that has permeated the first and second permeable members 2c, 2d is diluted by rain or the like, the chemical solution from the first and second water-retaining members 2a, 2b can be reliably replenished and permeated into the first and second permeable members 2c, 2d without escaping to the back side, thereby restoring the original concentration. Even if the first and second permeation members 2c and 2d are dried by wind, the chemical solution from the first and second water retention members 2a and 2b can be reliably replenished and permeated into the first and second permeation members 2c and 2d. Furthermore, by making the first permeation member 2c into which the extermination chemical solution permeates have a surface that makes it difficult for pests to get their feet caught and pass through, for example, pests passing over the belt-shaped member 2 can be kept in contact with the extermination chemical solution for a long time. Therefore, pests passing over the belt-shaped member 2 can be reliably exterminated. Furthermore, since pests simply pass over the belt-shaped member 2, it is possible to cover pests of all sizes, from small to large, and to install it in any location.
Therefore, with this configuration, a pest control device 1 can be provided that enables pest control to be performed simply, stably and reliably over a long period of time, regardless of the installation location or the size of the pests.

In addition, because the space between the first and second adjacent water-retentive members 2a, 2b is made of impermeable material on both the front and back sides, it is possible to prevent the chemical solutions (control chemical solution and attractant chemical solution) that have permeated (leaked out) into the first and second permeable members 2c, 2d on the first and second adjacent water-retentive members 2a, 2b from mixing with each other. In addition, since pests can be attracted with the attractant chemical solution and then exterminated with the extermination chemical solution, it is possible to exterminate more pests.

This will be explained in further detail below.
In the case where the chemical solution permeating the permeable member is a pest control chemical solution for exterminating pests, the permeable member has a surface that makes it difficult for pests to pass through by getting their feet caught in it. In this embodiment, the first permeable member 2c has a surface that makes it difficult for pests to pass through by getting their feet caught in it.
According to this configuration, since the pests can be kept in contact with the extermination liquid for a long time, it is possible to not only repel the pests but also completely exterminate them. Furthermore, since the pests can be kept in contact with the extermination liquid for a long time, it is possible to exterminate the pests without using a highly toxic liquid.

For example, the first penetration member 2c has a surface in which the legs of pests become entangled. Examples of surfaces in which the legs of pests become entangled include surfaces with small L-shaped, J-shaped, or loop-shaped spines, and mesh-like surfaces with small meshes. By mixing L-shaped, J-shaped, and loop-shaped spines, or by mixing meshes of various sizes and shapes, it is possible to make it difficult for pests to pass through, regardless of the size of the pests or the length and shape of their legs. By mixing spines with long and short lengths, it is possible to make it difficult for pests to pass through, regardless of the size of the pests or the length of their legs. In the case of a mesh-like surface, by overlapping multiple mesh layers, it becomes easier for the legs of pests to enter the mesh, and it is also possible to make it difficult for pests to pass through, regardless of the size of the pests or the length of their legs. If it is desired to exterminate only specific pests, it is desirable to select the shape and length of the spines and the shape of the mesh according to the size of the pests and the length and shape of their legs.

In the case where the liquid medicine permeating the permeable member is an attractant liquid medicine that attracts pests, the permeable member has a surface that allows pests to pass through smoothly. In this embodiment, the second permeable member 2d has a surface that allows pests to pass through smoothly.
According to this configuration, pests that have been attracted by the attractant liquid and come close can be smoothly moved to the first penetration member 2c permeated with the extermination liquid.

For example, the second permeable member 2d may be a cloth woven with fibers (synthetic fibers such as nylon) that have a small coefficient of friction on which pests can slide easily, or a cloth woven with fine threads with small mesh. The second permeable member 2d may also have a surface formed by combining a cloth woven with fibers (synthetic fibers such as nylon) that have a small coefficient of friction on which pests can slide easily with a cloth such as cotton that has good water absorption, for example, a surface formed by arranging two types of cloth in a checkerboard or striped pattern. However, it is not desirable to construct the surface of the second permeable member 2d only with a cloth made of fibers with a small coefficient of friction that are easy for pests to slide on, because the pests will find it easy to slide on but will not absorb water well, and the attractant liquid will not be effective.

The first and second permeable members 2c and 2d may be made of any material that can provide the above-mentioned functions, such as cloth, paper, nonwoven fabric, etc.
The first and second water retention members 2a, 2b may be, for example, cloth, paper, gel, sponge, or the like.
The first and second chemical solution supplying members 4a and 4b may be made of, for example, cloth, paper, gel, sponge, etc. The first and second chemical solution supplying members 4a and 4b may be integrally formed with the first and second water retention members 2a and 2b, respectively.
The inventors have produced a pest control device 1 using bandages for the first and second chemical supplying members 4a and 4b, the first and second water retaining members 2a and 2b, and the first and second permeable members 2c and 2d, and have obtained good results when using the device in the manner described below. From this, it is believed that materials with a relatively coarse mesh are more preferable than materials with a dense mesh for the materials used for these members.

The impermeable member 2e may be, for example, vinyl, plastic, etc. The surface of the impermeable member 2e may have an adhesive surface between the first and second permeable members 2c, 2d. This makes it possible to capture pests on the surface of the impermeable member 2e.

The first chemical solution supply member 4a is covered with a chemical solution-impermeable first cover 5a through which the extermination chemical solution does not penetrate, from the connection point with the first water retention member 2a to the inlet of the first chemical solution container 3a or the upper part of the first chemical solution container 3a. The second chemical solution supply member 4b is covered with a chemical solution-impermeable second cover 5b through which the attractant chemical solution does not penetrate, from the connection point with the second water retention member 2b to the inlet of the second chemical solution container 3b or the upper part of the second chemical solution container 3b.
The first and second covers 5a, 5b may be made of, for example, vinyl, plastic, or the like.

This configuration makes it possible to prevent the pesticide or attractant liquid from evaporating before it reaches the first water-retaining member 2a or the second water-retaining member 2b.

The belt-shaped member 2 has first and second connection parts 6a, 6b at both ends in the longitudinal direction. Here, a female part of a hook-and-loop fastener is affixed to the front of one end (the closed end) of the belt-shaped member 2 as the first connection part 6a, and a male part of a hook-and-loop fastener is affixed to the back of the other end of the belt-shaped member 2 as the second connection part 6b.

With this configuration, when the pest control device 1 is used by wrapping it around a tree or the like, the hook-and-loop fastener male part (second connection part 6b) can be joined to the hook-and-loop fastener female part (first connection part 6a) to securely fasten the pest control device 1 to the tree or the like. In addition, by preparing another pest control device in which a hook-and-loop fastener male part is affixed as a second connection part to the back surface of one end (closed end) of the belt-shaped member and a hook-and-loop fastener female part is affixed as a first connection part to the front surface of the other end of the belt-shaped member, and joining the hook-and-loop fastener male part of the other pest control device (belt-shaped member) to the hook-and-loop fastener female part of the pest control device 1 (belt-shaped member 2), the other belt-shaped member and belt-shaped member 2 can be connected in the longitudinal direction to increase the length of the pest control device. This makes it possible to handle large trees, etc.

The first chemical liquid container 3a has an inlet (not shown) for introducing the other end of the first chemical liquid supply member 4a and a refill port (not shown) for refilling the extermination chemical liquid. The second chemical liquid container 3b also has an inlet (not shown) for introducing the other end of the second chemical liquid supply member 4b and a refill port (not shown) for refilling the attractant chemical liquid. By refilling the extermination chemical liquid or the attractant chemical liquid at any time or by increasing the size of the first and second chemical liquid containers 3a and 3b, it is possible to supply the chemical liquid (extermination chemical liquid and attractant chemical liquid) to the first and second water retention members 2a and 2b for a long period of time, thereby maintaining the effect of the pest control device 1. The first chemical liquid container 3a and the second chemical liquid container 3b may have a single opening that serves as both an inlet and a refill port.

The pest control device 1 described above is for exterminating pests that pass through its surface, and can be used by wrapping it around a tree or the like as described above, or by attaching it to a wall. When attaching it to a wall, for example, a double-sided tape may be attached to the back surface of the belt-shaped member 2.
The first and second liquid medicine containers 3a, 3b are formed as a continuous piece and are attached to trees or the like separately from the belt-shaped member 2 (see FIG. 3).

Since each component of the pest control device 1 is made of the materials described above, it can be bent into any desired shape. This allows it to be easily attached to irregularly shaped trees, protruding corners of exterior walls, etc.

[Use of the pest control device]
Next, a usage mode of the pest-control device 1 configured as above will be described with reference to FIG.

Figure 3 is a schematic perspective view showing an example of how the pest control device of this embodiment is used.

The pest control device 1 of this embodiment can be used by wrapping it around a tree 20, such as a fruit tree, as shown in FIG. 3.

More specifically, first, the belt-shaped member 2 is wrapped around the tree 20, and the hook-and-loop fastener male part (second connecting part 6b) is joined to the hook-and-loop fastener female part (first connecting part 6a) (see Figures 1 and 2) to firmly secure the pest-control device 1 to the tree 20. In addition, the first and second chemical solution containers 3a, 3b are secured to the tree 20 by string members 21 attached to the first and second chemical solution containers 3a, 3b. In this case, the first and second chemical solution containers 3a, 3b are attached below the belt-shaped member 2.
Next, the other end of the first chemical supply member 4a is introduced into the first chemical container 3a, and the other end of the second chemical supply member 4b is introduced into the second chemical container 3b (state of FIG. 3). Then, due to the capillary phenomenon of the first chemical supply member 4a, the extermination chemical solution 19a in the first chemical container 3a is sucked up and supplied to the first water retention member 2a. Also, due to the capillary phenomenon of the second chemical supply member 4b, the attractant chemical solution 19b in the second chemical container 3b is sucked up and supplied to the second water retention member 2b. The extermination chemical solution 19a supplied to the first water retention member 2a permeates the first penetration member 2c and spreads throughout the entire first penetration member 2c. The attractant liquid 19b supplied to the second water retention member 2b permeates the second permeable member 2d and spreads throughout the second permeable member 2d. This completes the preparations for exterminating pests that harm the growth of fruit trees.
Of the first and second chemical solution supply members 4a, the portions between the first and second chemical solution containers 3a, 3b and the belt-shaped member 2 are covered with first and second covers 5a, 5b, respectively, which are impermeable to the chemical solution, so that the extermination chemical solution 19a and the attraction chemical solution 19b do not evaporate before reaching the first and second water retention members 2a, 2b, resulting in high efficiency in the use of the chemical solutions.

Pests that harm the growth of fruit trees are exterminated when they pass over the belt-shaped member 2 of the pest control device 1.
More specifically, the pests on the ground are attracted by the attractant liquid 19b that is spread throughout the second permeable member 2d, and crawl up the tree 20 to approach the second permeable member 2d of the belt-shaped member 2. The second permeable member 2d has a surface that allows pests to pass through smoothly, and the impermeable member 2e is also made of a material that pests find slippery, such as vinyl or plastic, so that pests that have been lured by the attractant liquid 19b and come close can be moved smoothly to the first permeable member 2c that is permeated with the extermination liquid 19a. The first permeable member 2c has a surface that makes it difficult for pests to get caught and pass through, so that the pests can be kept in contact with the extermination liquid 19a for a long time. This makes it possible to reliably exterminate pests that pass over the belt-shaped member 2 of the pest extermination device 1.

The pest control device 1 of this embodiment can be used, for example, by attaching it to a wall surface. The belt-shaped member 2 can be attached to the wall surface by using double-sided tape attached to the back surface of the belt-shaped member 2. The same applies to the first and second drug solution containers 3a and 3b.
In this case too, pests can be exterminated in the same manner as described above.

In the above embodiment, the pest control device 1 is described as having two water retention members, a first water retention member 2a (for pest control liquid) and a second water retention member 2b (for attractant liquid), which extend in the longitudinal direction. However, the present invention is not necessarily limited to such a configuration. For example, the pest control device 1 may have one water retention member for pest control liquid, as shown in FIG. 4.
FIG. 4(a) is a schematic plan view showing another schematic configuration of a pest-control device in this embodiment, and FIG. 4(b) is a schematic plan view showing the other pest-control device with the penetration member removed.

More specifically, the pest control device 7 shown in Fig. 4 is provided with a belt-shaped member 8 incorporating one water retention member 8a extending in the longitudinal direction. The pest control device 7 also includes a chemical solution container 9 for storing a chemical solution for exterminating pests, and a chemical solution supply member 10 for sucking up the chemical solution in the chemical solution container 9 by capillary action and supplying it to the water retention member 8a.
One end of the chemical solution supplying member 10 is connected to the water retention member 8a, and the other end is introduced into the chemical solution container 9. The end of the belt-shaped member 8 on the side where the chemical solution supplying member 10 is not present is closed. The chemical solution supplying member 10 is covered from the connection point with the water retention member 8a to the entrance of the chemical solution container 9 or a point located at the top of the chemical solution container 9 with a chemical solution-impermeable cover 11 that does not allow the extermination chemical solution to penetrate.

The belt-shaped member 8 is composed of two types of members: an impermeable member 8c on the back side, through which the extermination liquid from the water-retentive member 8a does not penetrate, and a permeable member 8b on the front side extending in the longitudinal direction of the belt-shaped member 8, through which the extermination liquid from the water-retentive member 8a penetrates.
More specifically, the belt-shaped member 8 is composed of a base member (impermeable member) 8c that is impermeable to chemical solutions, on which one water-retaining member 8a is placed and fixed, and a permeable member 8b that is positioned and fixed so as to cover the water-retaining member 8a.
An impermeable member extending in the longitudinal direction of the belt-shaped member 8 may be further disposed and fixed on the surface of the belt-shaped member 8 so as to overlap the edge of the permeable member 8b.

The belt-shaped member 8 has first and second connection parts 12a, 12b at both ends in the longitudinal direction. Here, a female part of a hook-and-loop fastener is affixed to the surface of one end (the closed end) of the belt-shaped member 8 as the first connection part 12a, and a male part of a hook-and-loop fastener is affixed to the back surface of the other end of the belt-shaped member 8 as the second connection part 12b.

The belt-shaped member 14 is composed of two types of members: an impermeable member 14g on the back side, which is not permeable by the chemical solutions (first extermination chemical solution, second extermination chemical solution, and attractant chemical solution) from the first to third water-retaining members 14a, 14b, 14c, and first to third permeable members 14d, 14e, 14f on the front side extending in the longitudinal direction of the belt-shaped member 14, which are permeable by the chemical solutions (first extermination chemical solution, second extermination chemical solution, and attractant chemical solution) from the first to third water-retaining members 14a, 14b, 14c, respectively.
More specifically, the belt-shaped member 14 is composed of a base member (impermeable member) 14g impermeable to chemical solutions on which the first to third water retention members 14a, 14b, 14c are placed and fixed, and first to third permeable members 14d, 14e, 14f arranged and fixed so as to cover the first to third water retention members 14a, 14b, 14c, respectively, with a predetermined gap therebetween in the width direction of the belt-shaped member 14. As a result, the space between the adjacent first and second water retention members 14a, 14b and the space between the adjacent second and third water retention members 14b, 14c are both composed of impermeable members on the front and back sides.
An impermeable member extending in the longitudinal direction of the belt-shaped member 14 may be further arranged and fixed on the surface of the belt-shaped member 14 so as to overlap the opposing edges of the first and second permeable members 14d, 14e. Also, an impermeable member extending in the longitudinal direction of the belt-shaped member 14 may be further arranged and fixed on the surface of the belt-shaped member 14 so as to overlap the opposing edges of the second and third permeable members 14e, 14f.

The belt-shaped member 14 has first and second connection parts 18a, 18b at both ends in the longitudinal direction. Here, a female part of a hook-and-loop fastener is affixed to the surface of one end (the closed end) of the belt-shaped member 14 as the first connection part 18a, and a male part of a hook-and-loop fastener is affixed to the back surface of the other end of the belt-shaped member 14 as the second connection part 18b.

The configuration of the pest control device 13 described above allows multiple water retention members 14a, 14b, 14c that hold different pest control liquids or attractant liquids to be simultaneously provided, making it possible to exterminate multiple types of pests. Note that the materials of each member of the pest control device 13 shown in FIG. 5 and other effects of the pest control device 13 are the same as those described above. Therefore, by referring to the above, a description thereof will be omitted here.

In the above embodiment, a hook-and-loop fastener female part and a hook-and-loop fastener male part are used as the first and second connecting parts 6a, 6b. However, the present invention is not necessarily limited to such a configuration. The connecting parts may be, for example, hole- or groove-shaped recesses and corresponding protrusions, with the recesses and protrusions fitting together (such as a female hook and a male hook), or may be configured to tie the ends of string-like members together.

In the above embodiment, the first and second connection parts 6a, 6b are provided at both ends of the belt-shaped member 2 in the longitudinal direction. However, the present invention is not necessarily limited to this configuration. It is sufficient that a connection part is provided at least at the end (closed end) of the belt-shaped member 2 opposite the side where the first and second chemical supply members 4a, 4b are present. Even with this configuration, the effect of connecting the two belt-shaped members together in the longitudinal direction by joining the connection parts of these belt-shaped members can be obtained, thereby increasing the length of the pest control device.

In the above embodiment, the first and second liquid medicine containers 3a, 3b are formed as a continuous piece, and are attached to a tree or the like separately from the belt-shaped member 2. However, the present invention is not necessarily limited to this configuration. The multiple liquid medicine containers may be formed as separate pieces, and the liquid medicine containers may be attached to the belt-shaped member.
