A rat-derived small intestinal epithelial cell line (RIKEN) was suspended in DMEM (1 g/L glucose, 5% FBS, 4 μg/mL insulin) medium to give 1 × 10 cells per well, and the suspension was seeded onto a 24-well plate and cultured at 37°C under 5% CO2 conditions.

乾姜の水抽出物及び/又は山椒の水抽出物を含む培地は、DMEM(1g/L glucose、3%非働化FBS)培地に、乾姜の水抽出物を400倍又は200倍、及び/又は、山椒の水抽出物を2000倍又は1000倍に希釈されるように添加して調製した。
