The present invention relates to a package in which multiple rolls of sanitary tissue paper or a stack of sanitary tissue paper are bundled together and wrapped in paper material.

Conventionally, there are known packages in which a plurality of sanitary thin paper such as toilet paper or kitchen paper in a roll form (hereinafter also referred to as "rolled sanitary thin paper") or cartons (hereinafter also referred to as "sanitary thin paper cartons") containing a laminate of sanitary thin paper such as tissue paper or wipers are bundled together and wrapped in film. For example, Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2 describe such packages in which an identification code such as a barcode used in a POS (Point Of Sale) system is printed on the wrapping film.

In recent years, the problem of plastic waste has become more serious worldwide, and in order to improve the global environment, it is desirable to switch from plastic packaging materials to other materials. It has also been proposed to use wrapping paper with a heat seal layer to heat seal packaging rolled sanitary tissue paper or sanitary tissue paper laminates in packages that contain rolled sanitary tissue paper or sanitary tissue paper laminates (Patent Document 3). Therefore, it is conceivable to use wrapping paper with a heat seal layer in packages that contain multiple rolls of sanitary tissue paper or sanitary tissue paper cartons packaged together.

The present invention aims to prevent misreading or poor reading of identification codes in a package in which multiple rolls of sanitary tissue paper or sanitary tissue paper laminates are bundled together and heat-sealed using wrapping paper with a heat seal layer, by preventing wrinkles caused by temperature differences during heat sealing around the heat seal portion from distorting the identification code to the extent that this causes misreading or poor reading.

The package according to the present invention is a package in which a plurality of rolls of sanitary tissue paper or sanitary tissue paper laminates are bundled together and heat-sealed using wrapping paper with a heat-seal layer, and is characterized in that an identification code is displayed on the outer surface of the wrapping paper around the heat-seal layer that is heat-sealed during the heat-seal packaging, in a non-affected area that is not affected by wrinkles that occur due to the temperature difference during the heat-sealing.

With this configuration, the identification code is displayed on the outer surface of the wrapping paper in a non-affected area that is not affected by wrinkles that occur around the heat-sealed area due to the temperature difference during heat-sealing. With this configuration, the multiple rolls of sanitary thin paper in the wrapping paper are heat-sealed at both ends in the girth direction using one roll of sanitary thin paper as a receiver, so tearing of the wrapping paper due to the impact of being pressed during heat sealing can be suppressed. Also, since the identification code is displayed on the outer surface of the wrapping paper in a portion that at least partially abuts the outer periphery of another roll of sanitary thin paper among the multiple rolls of sanitary thin paper arranged in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the roll of sanitary thin paper, even if the wrapping paper slackens between the multiple rolls of sanitary thin paper arranged in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the roll of sanitary thin paper, the identification code is less likely to be distorted by the influence of this slack, and misreading or reading errors of the identification code can be more reliably suppressed.

Furthermore, the packaging according to the present invention is characterized in that the identification code is displayed on a second unaffected portion around the folded portion of the wrapping paper that is not affected by wrinkles that occur due to the folding of the wrapping paper.

This configuration prevents the identification code from being distorted to the extent that it would be misread or read incorrectly due to wrinkles that occur around the folded parts of the wrapping paper (for example, the folded parts on the top and sides of the package, or the corners) caused by folding the wrapping paper, and more reliably prevents misreading or read errors of the identification code.

In addition, the packaging according to the present invention is characterized in that the background color of the wrapping paper is white, and the identification code is printed on the outer surface of the wrapping paper.

The form of the package according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to Figures 1 to 6. However, the present invention is not limited to this form.

As described above, the sanitary thin paper of the present invention includes toilet paper, kitchen paper, tissue paper, wipers, etc., and in the description of this specification and claims, "rolled sanitary thin paper" refers to sanitary thin paper such as toilet paper or kitchen paper rolled into a roll, and "sanitary thin paper laminate" refers to sanitary thin paper such as tissue paper or wipers folded and laminated. First Embodiment
Fig. 1 is an overall perspective view of a package 1 in which a plurality of rolled sanitary thin paper 2 according to the first embodiment of the present invention are caramel-packaged, Fig. 2 is a plan view of the back surface of the package 1 according to this embodiment, Fig. 3 is a plan view of the top surface of the package 1 according to this embodiment, and Fig. 4 is a plan view of a packaging bag 10 of the package 1 according to this embodiment, which has been unfolded after the heat-sealed layers 12 at the top and bottom and the heat-sealed layer 12 at the glue margin 11 of the packaging bag 10 have been peeled off. The packaging body 1 according to the present invention is a body-wrapped packaging of a plurality of rolled sanitary thin papers (toilet rolls in this embodiment) 2, which are arranged in parallel so that both end faces are aligned in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction, wrapped in paper material (paper materials). As shown in FIG. 1, the packaging body 1 according to the present embodiment is a caramel-wrapped packaging of four toilet rolls 2 in two rows and two columns, wrapped in paper material. Examples of the paper material include coated paper, kraft paper, and laminated paper. The paper material is obtained by papermaking a slurry containing a pulp component, which is a fiber raw material. Examples of the pulp component include wood pulp, non-wood pulp, and recycled paper pulp. In this embodiment, the packaging paper is a one-sided gloss paper with a glossy outer surface. The caramel packaging may be a known one. Specifically, for example, first, the toilet roll 2 placed on the flat paper material is wrapped in a rolled manner, and the overlapping parts in the rolling direction are bonded (heat-sealed) via a heat seal layer described later. Next, the excess portion that extends beyond the end face position of the sanitary paper roll 2 is folded toward the end face side of the sanitary paper roll 2 (folded in a mountain fold and a valley fold along the mountain fold line and valley fold line indicated by symbols UFL and DFL in FIG. 4, respectively). Then, the leading edges of the triangular or trapezoidal pieces formed during folding are glued together to cover the toilet roll 2 from the top and bottom end faces. A known device can be used as a device for performing this type of caramel wrapping.

The paper material in the packaging body 1 is bonded by the heat seal method as described above. For bonding by the above method, the paper material (the glue margin 11 and one or both sides of the folded portion) is provided with a heat seal layer 12 to which a heat seal agent that exhibits an adhesive function when heat is applied is applied. As shown in FIG. 4, the heat seal layer 12 is applied to the outer surface of the unfolded packaging paper 10D, that is, the portion shown by diagonal hatching in the figure, that is, the glue margin 11 and the peripheral portion of the packaging paper 10D. That is, as shown in FIG. 4, the heat seal layer 12 is provided in a U-shape on the peripheral side of one surface of the rectangular packaging paper. When the toilet roll 2 is packaged, the heat seal layer 12 on the bottom surface 10B side and the top surface 10T side of the packaging body 1 is the bottom surface sealing heat seal layer 12B and the top surface sealing heat seal layer 12T, respectively. For example, polyolefin resins and other thermoplastic resins can be used as materials for the heat seal layer 12.

As shown in Figs. 1-4, the package 1 according to this embodiment is a package of four toilet rolls 2 bundled together and heat-sealed using a wrapping paper with a heat-seal layer 12, and an identification code 14 is displayed on the outer peripheral surface of the wrapping paper in a non-affected area 13 that is not affected by wrinkles that occur due to the temperature difference during heat-sealing around the heat-sealed layer (heat-sealed area) 12 that is heat-sealed during heat-sealing packaging. Here, "displaying the identification code 14" includes, for example, the case where the identification code 14 is printed and displayed on the outer surface of the wrapping paper by printing processing, and the case where a sticker with the identification code 14 printed thereon is affixed to the outer surface of the wrapping paper and displayed on the outer surface of the wrapping paper. In addition, the "non-affected area that is not affected by wrinkles" refers to the area that is not affected by wrinkles, as well as the area that is not distorted by wrinkles to the extent that the identification code 14 is misread or not read properly.

With this configuration, the identification code 14 is displayed on the unaffected portion 13 on the outer surface of the wrapping paper, which is not affected by wrinkles that occur around the heat-sealed portion 12 due to the temperature difference during heat sealing. This prevents the identification code 14 from being distorted to the extent that it would cause misreading or reading errors due to the influence of wrinkles that occur around the heat-sealed portion 12 due to the temperature difference during heat sealing, thereby preventing misreading or reading errors of the identification code 14.

In addition, more specifically, in the package 1 according to this embodiment, as shown in Figs. 1 to 4, the four toilet rolls 2 are wrapped around the body and wrapped in wrapping paper in a state where they are arranged side by side so that both end faces are aligned in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction, and the wrapping paper has a heat seal layer 12E extending in the axial direction of the toilet roll 2 at one end in the waist circumference direction of the four toilet rolls 2 (the surface of the glue margin 11 in Fig. 4), and one of the two rows of toilet rolls 2f, 2s arranged side by side in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the toilet roll 2 is At a portion where at least a part of the heat seal layer 12 at one end in the waist direction is in contact with the outer periphery of the toilet roll 2f (the toilet roll on the right side in Figure 2), the heat seal layer 12 at the other end in the waist direction is overlapped and heat sealed, and the identification code 14 is displayed on the outer surface of the wrapping paper at a portion where at least a part of the heat seal layer 12 at one end in the waist direction is in contact with the outer periphery of the other toilet roll 2s (the toilet roll on the left side in Figure 2) of the two rows of toilet rolls 2 arranged in parallel in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the toilet roll 2.

With this configuration, the wrapping paper is heat-sealed at both ends in the waist direction of the four toilet rolls 2 using one toilet roll 2f as a support (see FIG. 1), so that tearing of the wrapping paper due to the impact of pushing during heat sealing can be suppressed. In addition, since the identification code 14 is displayed on the outer surface of the wrapping paper at a portion where at least a portion of the identification code 14 abuts against the outer periphery of another toilet roll 2s among the four toilet rolls 2 arranged in a row in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the toilet roll 2, even if the wrapping paper slackens between the four toilet rolls 2 arranged in a row in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the toilet roll 2, the identification code 14 is less likely to be distorted by the influence of this slack, and misreading or poor reading of the identification code 14 can be more reliably suppressed.

In the present invention, as shown in FIG. 2, the identification code 14 may be displayed in an area that overlaps with the central axis 2sA of another toilet roll 2s when viewed from the back side of the packaging body 1. This configuration also makes the identification code 14 less likely to be distorted, thereby reducing misreading or reading errors of the identification code 14.

Furthermore, in this embodiment, the identification code 14 is arranged in a second unaffected portion that is not affected by wrinkles that occur around the folded portion of the wrapping paper due to the folding of the wrapping paper. The folded portion of the wrapping paper is a folded portion where the wrapping paper is folded on the top surface 10T or bottom surface 10B of the packaging body 1, or a corner between the peripheral surface of the packaging body 1 and the top surface 10T (or bottom surface 10B), where wrinkles occur around the periphery due to the folding of the wrapping paper, and in this embodiment, the identification code 14 is displayed avoiding the above-mentioned place (at a position away from the above-mentioned place) as shown in Figures 1, 2, and 4. Here, the "second unaffected portion that is not affected by wrinkles" means a portion that is not affected by wrinkles, as well as a portion that is not distorted by wrinkles to the extent that the identification code 14 is misread or not read properly.

This configuration prevents the identification code 14 from being distorted to the extent that it would cause misreading or reading failure due to the influence of wrinkles that occur around the folded portion of the wrapping paper due to the folding of the wrapping paper, and it is possible to more reliably prevent misreading or reading failure of the identification code 14.

With this configuration, the identification code 14 can be printed and displayed simply and clearly on the outer surface of the wrapping paper. In order to achieve the effects of the present invention, it is preferable that the ISO whiteness (ISO2470-1) of the background color of the wrapping paper is 70% or more, preferably 80% or more, and more preferably 85% or more. The whiteness value increases depending on the amount of bleach used to bleach the fiber pulp before it is made into paper, i.e., the unbleached pulp, and the amount of dye with a bluish color such as blue or purple that is added to the bleached pulp when it is made into paper.

As described above, in this embodiment, the wrapping paper is a one-sided glossy paper with a glossy outer surface, and the identification code 14 is printed on the glossy surface of the wrapping paper. This configuration allows the identification code 14 to be printed more clearly, further reducing misreading and reading errors of the identification code.

Conventionally, in a package in which a plurality of rolls of sanitary tissue paper or sanitary tissue paper laminates are bundled and wrapped in film, an identification code such as a barcode used in a POS system is printed on the packaging film, as described in, for example, Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2. Meanwhile, in recent years, in order to improve the global environment, it has been desired to change the packaging material from plastic to other materials, and it has been proposed to use wrapping paper with a heat seal layer to heat seal the rolls of sanitary tissue paper or the sanitary tissue paper laminate in a package in which rolls of sanitary tissue paper or sanitary tissue paper laminates are wrapped (Patent Document 3). Therefore, it is conceivable to use wrapping paper with a heat seal layer in a package in which a plurality of rolls of sanitary tissue paper or sanitary tissue paper cartons are bundled and wrapped.

However, in a package in which multiple rolls of sanitary tissue paper or sanitary tissue paper cartons are heat-sealed using wrapping paper with a heat-seal layer, just as in a package wrapped in film, if an identification code such as a barcode is printed on the wrapping paper, depending on the position of the code, wrinkles may occur around the heat-sealed and welded heat-seal layer (heat-sealed portion) due to temperature differences during heat sealing. These wrinkles may distort the identification code, causing a risk of misreading or poor reading of the identification code.

According to this embodiment, the identification code 14 is displayed on the unaffected portion 13 on the outer surface of the wrapping paper, which is not affected by wrinkles that occur around the heat-sealed portion due to the temperature difference during heat-sealing. Therefore, the identification code 14 is not distorted to the extent that it causes misreading or reading failure due to the influence of wrinkles that occur around the heat-sealed portion due to the temperature difference during heat-sealing, and misreading or reading failure of the identification code 14 can be suppressed.

Second Embodiment
In the second embodiment of the present invention, as described above, unlike the first embodiment, a stack of multiple cartons 3 as sanitary thin paper laminates containing a laminate of sanitary thin paper is wrapped in wrapping paper having a heat seal layer, and as in the first embodiment, the identification code is displayed in a location away from the heat seal portion (and the folded portion of the packaging body 1') on the circumferential surface as the outer surface of the wrapping paper, and at a location where the surface of the contained item is abutted against the back of the wrapping paper. Therefore, it is possible to prevent misreading or poor reading of the identification code 14 by preventing the identification code from being distorted to the extent that it would be misread or poorly readable due to wrinkles that occur around the heat seal portion (and the folded portion of the packaging body 1') due to temperature differences during the heat sealing or due to folding of the wrapping paper during packaging.

Figure 5 is an overall perspective view of a package 1' in which a stack of cartons 3, each of which is a sanitary tissue paper laminate containing a sanitary tissue paper laminate according to this embodiment, is caramel-wrapped, and Figure 6 is a plan view of the back of the package 1' according to this embodiment. In this embodiment, similar to the first embodiment, the package 1' is provided with a heat seal layer 12B for sealing the bottom surface, a heat seal layer 12T for sealing the top surface, and a heat seal layer 12E at one end in the waist circumference direction.

In this embodiment, the package 1' is a roughly rectangular parallelepiped shape formed by caramel-wrapping a stack of cartons 3, and the folded parts where wrinkles are likely to occur around the periphery due to folding of the wrapping paper include the corners between adjacent long and short sides. In this embodiment, the identification code 14 is located away from the corners between adjacent long and short sides, as well as the heat seal layer 12E at one end in the waist circumference direction and the corners on the top surface 10T side and bottom surface 10B side of the package 1', as shown in Figures 5 and 6.

According to this embodiment, as in the first embodiment, the identification code 14 is displayed on the outer surface of the wrapping paper in a location that is not affected by wrinkles that occur around the heat-sealed portion due to the temperature difference during heat-sealing. Therefore, the identification code 14 is not distorted to the extent that it would cause misreading or reading failure due to the influence of wrinkles that occur around the heat-sealed portion due to the temperature difference during heat-sealing or wrinkles that occur around the folded portion due to the folding, and misreading or reading failure of the identification code 14 can be suppressed.

The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments or the modified examples described throughout the specification, and appropriate changes and modifications can be made without departing from the technical concept of the present invention.

For example, while the above embodiments relate to caramel packaging, the present invention is not limited to this and can be applied to various packaging formats such as gusset packaging and pillow packaging (see Patent Document 3 for specific packaging formats).

The package according to claim 1 , wherein the wrapping paper has a background color of white, and the identification code is printed on an outer surface of the wrapping paper. 4. The package according to claim 1 , wherein the wrapping paper is a one-sided glossy paper having a glossy outer surface, and the identification code is printed on the glossy surface of the wrapping paper.
