Description

This disclosure relates to bathroom fixtures for use in bathrooms.

In bathroom facilities, bathroom fixtures such as removable counters and shelves are installed on the walls. By making the bathroom fixtures removable, they can be replaced when damaged or worn out, and cleaning can be made easier.

Patent document 1 describes a conventional shelf used in bathrooms. This shelf is detachably attached to a wall-mounted fastener, and is made up of at least a bottom plate and a back plate, with through holes for the fastener drilled in the corners of the bottom plate and the back plate, and a vertical groove connected to the through hole drilled in the back plate.

As will be described in detail later, the inventors of the present application have come to the realization that there is room for improvement in the technology disclosed in Patent Document 1 in terms of reducing damage to bathroom fixtures themselves and surrounding equipment when bathroom fixtures such as shelves are accidentally dropped, when they are being used, when they are being cleaned, etc.

One of the objectives of this disclosure is to provide technology that can reduce damage to bathroom fixtures themselves and surrounding equipment.

The bathroom fixture of the present disclosure is a bathroom fixture that can be attached and detached in a bathroom, and includes a fixture body having a plate portion for placing items thereon, and a cover member attached to the fixture body so as to cover the upper surface of the plate portion.

The following describes the embodiments. Identical components are given the same reference numerals, and duplicated descriptions are omitted. In each drawing, some components are omitted, enlarged, or reduced as appropriate for ease of explanation. The drawings should be viewed according to the orientation of the reference numerals. The structures and shapes referred to in this specification include not only structures and shapes that exactly match the shapes referred to, but also structures and shapes that deviate by the amount of errors such as dimensional errors and manufacturing errors. In this specification, "connection," "fixing," "attachment," and "support" include cases where the conditions referred to are met directly by two parties, as well as cases where the conditions are met via other members, unless otherwise specified.

(First embodiment) See Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4. Bathroom fixture 100 is, for example, a counter 1, a shelf, etc., and is detachably attached to the wall of the bathroom. Figures 1 and 2 show the bathroom fixture 100 as a counter 1. Counter 1 includes a fixture body 10 and a cover member 6. Fixture body 10 includes a top plate 2, a front plate portion 3, a back plate portion 5, etc. Top plate 2 has an upper surface 2a formed in a flat plate shape. Items to be used in the bathroom can be placed on top surface 2a via cover member 6. Top plate 2 corresponds to the plate portion in the present invention, and is provided for placing items. For example, if bathroom fixture 100 is a shelf, the plate portion in the present invention corresponds to the bottom plate of the shelf.

The front panel 3 is plate-shaped and extends downward, continuing from the front side edge of the tabletop 2. Side panel sections 4 are provided continuous with both the left and right ends of the front panel 3. The side panel sections 4 extend downward, continuing from the left and right sides of the tabletop 2. The side panel sections 4 are continuous with the front panel 3 and the back panel 5. By providing the front panel 3 and side panel sections 4, the back side of the tabletop 2 is hidden, improving the design of the counter 1. The front panel section 3 and side panel sections 4 suppress bending deformation of the tabletop 2 and increase rigidity.

See Figure 3. The back panel 5 is plate-shaped and extends downward, continuing from the side edge of the back side (wall side) of the top panel 2. The back panel 5 is provided with an attachment portion 51 for attachment to the wall. The counter 1 is detachably attached to a boss or the like provided on the bathroom wall by the attachment portion 51. The shape and configuration of the boss provided on the wall and the attachment portion 51 can be determined using known technology.

Refer to FIG. 4. The top surface 2a of the tabletop 2 is formed in a flat plate shape. A decorative surface is formed on the top surface 2a of the tabletop 2. The cover member 6 is a transparent, soft plate, and is attached to the top surface 2a of the tabletop 2 using an adhesive or the like to cover the top surface 2a of the tabletop 2. The cover member 6 does not have to be soft, and may be formed from a hard material, or may be formed from a material that can restore scratches on its surface. The cover member 6 may be colorless and transparent, or colored and transparent. The material of the cover member 6 itself may be translucent, or colored and translucent.

The design surface may not be formed on the upper surface 2a of the top plate 2, but may be formed on the cover member 6. In this case, the upper surface of the cover member 6 may be the design surface, or the back side of the transparent cover member 6 may be the design surface. The design may be applied directly to the cover member 6, or a thin sheet on which the design surface is formed may be attached to at least one of the upper and back surfaces of the cover member 6.

The cover member 6 has a shape in which the front, rear, left and right side edges 6a are bent downward, and covers the front, rear, left and right side surfaces of the tabletop 2. The side edges 6a of the cover member 6 have a rounded curved surface in appearance.

The top plate 2 is made of a hard resin material. The cover member 6 is made of a softer resin material than the top plate 2. Materials for the cover member 6 include, for example, polyvinyl chloride, acrylic resin with added rubber components, silicone rubber, PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate), and TPO (Thermoplastic Olefinic Elastomer).

The operation of counter 1 will be explained. Counter 1 is removably attached to the bathroom wall, and there is a possibility that counter 1 may be accidentally dropped when attaching or removing it. The method of attachment and removal of counter 1 is designed so that it will not fall from the wall when it is merely touched by the hand. Counter 1 may fall if a large force is applied or if the installation is insufficient.

The counter 1 is provided with a soft cover member 6 that covers the upper surface 2a of the tabletop 2, so that even if an object hits the upper surface 2a of the tabletop 2 when it is dropped, damage to the tabletop 2 can be suppressed. When the counter 1 is dropped, an object that hits the cover member 6 of the counter 1 is also unlikely to be damaged because the cover member 6 is soft.

By forming the cover member 6 from a transparent material, the design applied to the upper surface 2a of the tabletop 2 is visible on the outside, enhancing the design of the counter 1. The transparent cover member 6 can also enhance the design of the counter 1 by applying a design to the back side. The design of the counter 1 can also be enhanced by the cover member 6 being semi-transparent.

Counter 1 is used to place items used in the bathroom, such as soap dishes and tubs. The counter 1 is provided with a soft cover member 6, which helps prevent damage caused by contact with the items placed on it.

(Second embodiment) See Figures 5 and 6. In the second embodiment, the counter 1 has a central portion of the upper surface 2a of the tabletop 2 exposed to the outside, and a cover member 6 is provided to cover the edge 2b. The counter 1 has a soft cover member 6 provided to cover the edge 2b, which can prevent damage caused by contact with objects when the counter 1 is dropped or during use.

A cover member 6 may be provided to cover the corners 2c of the tabletop 2. The counter 1 can prevent damage to the corners 2c by providing a soft cover member 6 to cover the corners 2c of the tabletop 2.

(Third embodiment) See Figure 7. A counter 1 according to another modified example has a recess 2d on the side of the upper part of the tabletop 2. The recess 2d is formed on the front and rear sides. The cover member 6 has protrusions 6b on the front and rear sides that protrude inward from the lower part of the side edge 6a. The recess 2d and protrusions 6b may be provided on both the left and right ends of the counter 1.

The cover member 6 can be attached by fitting the protrusions 6b into the recesses 2d of the top plate 2, so there is no need to glue the cover member 6 to the top plate 2. If the cover member 6 becomes dirty or has numerous small scratches over time, it can be removed and easily replaced by releasing the protrusions 6b from the recesses 2d.

(Variations) In each of the above embodiments, a counter 1 has been used as an example of the bathroom fixture 100. Even if the bathroom fixture 100 is, for example, a shelf that can be detachably attached to the wall or corner of a bathroom, damage to the bathroom fixture 100 itself and surrounding fixtures can be suppressed by providing a cover member 6 in the same way.

The countertop 2 of the bathroom fixture 100 is not limited to being rectangular like the counter 1 described above, but may be rounded, polygonal, circular, elliptical, or other shapes. The bathroom fixture 100 may be removably attached to the wall of the bathroom by a configuration having a magnet as the mounting portion 51. If the bathroom fixture 100 is a shelf having a base plate and a wall portion surrounding the base plate, a cover member 6 may be provided so as to cover the wall portion as the edge of the base plate.

The above describes the embodiments and modifications. When understanding the technical ideas that abstract the embodiments and modifications, the technical ideas should not be interpreted as being limited to the contents of the embodiments and modifications. The above-mentioned embodiments and modifications are merely illustrative examples, and many design changes are possible, such as changing, adding, or deleting components. In the embodiments, the contents in which such design changes are possible are emphasized by adding the notation "embodiment". However, design changes are also permitted even in contents not so notated. The hatching on the cross sections of the drawings does not limit the material of the objects to which the hatching is added.

Any combination of the above components is also valid as an aspect of the technical idea that abstracts the embodiment and the modified examples. For example, an embodiment may be combined with any of the description matters of other embodiments, and a modified example may be combined with any of the description matters of an embodiment and another modified example.
