Description

The present invention relates to a support device located on the ceiling at the boundary between a changing room and a bathroom in a sanitary room.

In the sanitary rooms of apartment buildings, which are mainly made of concrete, a partition wall with a door is installed between the changing room and the bathroom, with a hanging wall above it. In the changing room, a ceiling panel is installed below the structural ceiling, and this ceiling panel hides the piping (such as the exhaust pipe of a ventilation fan) that runs along the structural ceiling. A box-shaped modular bath is installed in the bathroom.

The hanging walls are fixed to multiple short vertical frames that are spaced apart along the hanging wall and hang down from the ceiling structure. A support rail is fixed to the top surface of the side edge of the ceiling board in the dressing room (the side edge on the bathroom side) and extends horizontally along the boundary between the dressing room and the bathroom.

As shown in Patent Document 1, when renovating an old or deteriorated unit bath, it is publicly known to remove the partition wall separating the bathroom and the dressing room in the sanitary room, remove the unit bath from the bathroom, install a new unit bath, and then install a new partition wall. Patent Document 1 also discloses renovating the unit bath while leaving the ceiling panels in place.

The vertical frame supporting the hanging wall is limited in length to avoid interference with the unit bath, and especially when the ceiling board is low, the hanging wall extends below the vertical frame. In such cases, the support beams fixed to the side edges of the ceiling board in the dressing room cannot be fixed directly to the vertical frame, but are fixed only to the lower end of the hanging wall. This means that the ceiling board cannot be firmly supported. Also, the upper end of the partition wall or the unit bath are connected to the support beams as needed, but these cannot be firmly supported either.

In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a ceiling support device to be installed in a sanitary room including a dressing room, a bathroom, a partition wall installed at the boundary between the dressing room and the bathroom, a hanging wall installed on the upper side of the partition wall, and a ceiling panel arranged below a structural ceiling in the dressing room,
The system is characterized by comprising a support beam extending horizontally along the boundary between the dressing room and the bathroom and fixed to the upper surface of the side edge of the ceiling board, and a plurality of vertical frames supported by the structural ceiling and hanging down to support the hanging wall, and further comprising connecting fittings that connect the vertical frames and the support beams.
According to the above configuration, since the support bar is connected to the vertical frame via the connecting fitting, the support bar can be firmly supported, thereby increasing the supporting strength of the ceiling panel.

Preferably, the connecting fitting has a first connecting plate portion and a second connecting plate portion which are perpendicular to each other, the first connecting plate portion being fixed to the support bar by a fastener penetrating the lower end portion of the hanging wall, and the second connecting plate portion being fixed to a side surface of the vertical frame facing in a direction along the boundary.
According to the above configuration, the support bar can be firmly fixed to the vertical frame using a simply shaped connecting fitting.

Preferably, the support bar is positioned at a position lower than the lower end of the vertical frame, the first connecting plate portion extends long in the vertical direction and has its lower end fixed to the support bar via the hanging wall, and the second connecting plate portion is shorter than the first connecting plate portion and connects to its upper end and is fixed to the side of the vertical frame.
According to the above-mentioned configuration, even if the ceiling board and the support rail are disposed at a position lower than the lower end of the vertical frame, the vertical frame and the support rail can be reliably connected. Also, the second connecting plate portion does not protrude from the lower part of the vertical frame or the protrusion amount can be reduced.

Preferably, the upper end of the partition wall is fixed to the support member by a fastener passing through the ceiling plate.
According to the above configuration, the supporting strength of the partition wall can be increased.

Another aspect of the present invention is a method for renovating a sanitary room comprising a dressing room, a bathroom including an existing old unit bath, an existing old partition wall installed at the boundary between the dressing room and the bathroom, a hanging wall above the existing old partition wall, a ceiling board arranged below the structural ceiling in the dressing room, and a ceiling support device, the ceiling support device having support rails extending horizontally along the boundary between the dressing room and the bathroom and fixed to the upper surface of the side edge portion of the ceiling board, and a plurality of vertical frames supported by the structural ceiling and hanging down to support the hanging wall,
The method includes the steps of removing the old partition wall and the old unit bath, leaving behind the hanging wall, the ceiling board, and the ceiling support device, reinforcing the support device by connecting the vertical frame and the support rail of the support device with connecting fittings, and installing a new unit bath in the bathroom and a new partition wall.
According to the above method, the ceiling support device can be reinforced during the process of renovating a sanitary room.

The present invention can increase the support strength of the ceiling support device.

Hereinafter, one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
Figures 1 and 2 show the ceiling of a sanitary room in a concrete-construction apartment building after renovation.
<About the sanitary room before renovation>
A brief description of the sanitary room before renovation will be given. The sanitary room has a dressing room 1 and a bathroom 2. In this embodiment, piping 4, such as an exhaust pipe for a ventilation fan, extends along a structural ceiling 3 so as to pass above the dressing room 1 and the bathroom 2. A partition wall (old partition wall not shown) is installed at the boundary between the dressing room 1 and the bathroom 2, and a hanging wall 5 is arranged above the partition wall. The piping 4 passes through the hanging wall 5. A unit bath (old unit bath not shown) is installed in the bathroom 2. A ceiling board 6 is provided in the dressing room 1. The structural ceiling 3 and the piping 4 are hidden by the ceiling board 6.

Next, the ceiling support device 10 will be described. The ceiling support device 10 has a horizontal frame 11 that is fixed to the structural ceiling 1 and extends along the boundary between the dressing room 1 and the bathroom 2, and a number of short vertical frames 12 that are spaced apart along the length of the horizontal frame 11. The vertical frames 12 are fixed to the underside of the horizontal frame 11 and extend vertically downward. The hanging wall 5 is fixed to the vertical frame 12 with its surface facing the bathroom 2 against the vertical frame 12. If necessary, a horizontally extending auxiliary frame 13 (shown only in Figure 1) is hung across the vertical frame 12.

The ceiling support device 10 further has a support rail 15 that extends horizontally along the boundary between the dressing room 1 and the bathroom 2. This support rail 15 is fixed to the upper surface of the side edge of the ceiling board 6 (the side edge along the boundary between the dressing room 1 and the bathroom 2). This support rail 15 is placed against the surface of the lower edge of the hanging wall 5 facing the dressing room 1 and is fixed to this hanging wall 5.

As shown in Figure 1, when the ceiling board 6 is low, the hanging wall 5 extends downward accordingly, but the vertical frame 12 has a length restriction to avoid interference with the unit bath. As a result, the support bar 15 and the ceiling board 6 are positioned lower than the bottom end of the vertical frame 12. In this case, the support bar 15 cannot be fixed directly to the vertical frame 12, but is fixed to the vertical frame 12 only via the hanging wall 5. In this case, the support bar 15 is not firmly supported, and the support strength of the side edge of the ceiling board 6 is also low. In addition, the partition wall and unit bath are connected to the support bar 15, but because the support strength of the support bar 15 itself is low, the support strength of the partition wall and unit bath is also low.

Next, a method for remodeling an existing sanitary room having the above-mentioned configuration will be described.
<Removal process>
The old partition wall and the old unit bath are removed. The hanging wall 5, the ceiling board 6 of the dressing room 1, and the ceiling support device 10 are left in place.

<Ceiling support device reinforcement process>
Next, the ceiling support device 10 is reinforced using a connecting fitting 20. As shown in Fig. 3, this connecting fitting 20 has a first connecting plate portion 21 and a second connecting plate portion 22 that are flat and connected at a right angle. The first connecting plate portion 22 extends vertically, and the second connecting plate portion 21 has a shorter vertical dimension than the first connecting plate portion 22 and is connected to the upper end portion of the first connecting plate portion 21. A through hole 21a is formed in the lower end portion of the first connecting plate portion 21, and a through hole 22a is also formed in the second connecting plate portion 22.

The lower end of the first connecting plate part 21 is aligned with the lower edge of the hanging wall 5 and the lower surface of the ceiling board 6, and the first connecting plate part 21 is placed against the surface of the hanging wall 5 facing the bathroom 2, and the second connecting plate part 22 is placed against the side surface of the vertical frame 12 (the side surface facing the direction along the boundary between the undressing room 1 and the bathroom 2). In this positioned state, a wood screw 25 (fixing device) is passed through the through hole 21a of the first connecting plate part 21 and screwed into the hanging wall 5, and further into the support rail 15, thereby fixing the lower end of the first connecting plate part 21 to the support rail 15 via the hanging wall 5. In addition, a wood screw 26 (fixing device) is passed through the through hole 22a of the second connecting plate part 21 and screwed into the building frame 12, thereby fixing the second connecting plate part 22 to the vertical frame 12.

The second connecting plate portion 22 is shorter in vertical dimension than the first connecting plate portion 21, is located above the lower end of the vertical frame 12, and extends below the vertical frame 12 so as not to interfere with structures such as the unit bath 30.

As shown in FIG. 2, the connecting fittings 20 may be provided on only one side of the vertical frame 12 or on both sides. They may also be provided on all vertical frames 12 or on selected vertical frames 12.

As described above, the support rails 15 are fixed to the vertical frame 12 via the connecting fittings 20, so they are firmly supported. As a result, the support strength of the side edges of the ceiling slab 6 fixed to the support material 15 can also be increased.

<Installation of new unit bath and partition wall>
Finally, a new unit bath 30 (only a portion of which is shown in FIG. 1) is installed in the bathroom 2, and a new partition wall 40 (only the upper end portion in FIG. 1) is installed between the dressing room 1 and the bathroom 2.

The upper end of the partition wall 40 (including the upper end of the upper frame and the upright) is supported by the support rail 15. This will be described in detail below. As shown in FIG. 1, when there is a wide gap between the ceiling board 6 and the upper end of the partition wall 40, a horizontally extending elongated auxiliary rail 45 and an L-shaped bracket 46 are used. In detail, the auxiliary rail 45 is placed against the underside of the ceiling board 6, and fixed to the ceiling board 6 and the support rail 15 with wood screws 47 (fixing devices). Then, the horizontal piece of the L-shaped bracket 46 is fixed to the partition wall 40, and the vertical piece is fixed to the auxiliary rail 45. Meanwhile, the side edge of the unit bath 30 on the side of the dressing room 1 is supported by the support rail 15 via the connecting member 35, the L-shaped bracket 46, the auxiliary rail 45, and the ceiling board 6.

If the gap between the ceiling plate 6 and the upper edge of the partition wall 40 is narrower than that shown in FIG. 1, instead of using an L-shaped bracket, an auxiliary bar can be inserted as a spacer in this gap, and the upper end of the partition wall 40 can be connected to the ceiling plate 6 and the support bar 15 with wood screws that penetrate the spacer and the ceiling plate 6.

If the ceiling board 6 is at an even lower position as shown in Figure 4 and there is no gap between the ceiling board 6 and the upper edge of the partition wall 40, the upper end of the partition wall 40 can be placed against the ceiling board 6 without using an auxiliary rail, and the upper end of the partition wall 40 can be connected to the support rail 15 with wood screws 47.
The lower end of the second connecting plate portion 22 of the connecting fitting 20 approximately coincides with the lower end of the building frame 12, but may protrude downward slightly.

As described above, the support bars 15 are firmly fixed to the vertical frame 12 via the connecting fittings 20, so the support strength of the ceiling board 6 can be increased, and even if the ceiling board 6 is pushed up by the partition wall 40 when installing a new partition wall 40, the ceiling board 6 can be prevented from being damaged, such as cracked. The support strength of the partition wall 40 and the unit bath 30 can also be increased. In particular, the support strength can be increased even if the vertical frame 12 does not extend to the bottom end of the hanging wall 5.

The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention.
In the above embodiment, the ceiling support device of the present invention was obtained by reinforcing the ceiling support device with connecting fittings during the renovation process, but a ceiling support device including connecting fittings may be constructed when creating a sanitary room for a new home. A bathroom is not limited to a room with a bathtub and also includes a shower room. A unit bath may not have a bathtub and only has shower facilities. A dressing room is not limited to a room whose main purpose is to dress, and may be a room for any purpose as long as it is adjacent to a bathroom, including a washroom.

The present invention can be applied to ceiling support devices in sanitary rooms.
