図3に示す通り、平面視右回転する刈刃4で刈取った草は、大部分が刈刃カバー8右側後部(右側後輪2の前方部)の排出口29や刈刃カバー8の後方中央部から排出される構成だが、一部の刈草は刈刃カバー8の前方や、右前輪1とその後方の刈刃カバー8との間隔部30から排出される場合もある。刈刃カバー8前方へ飛散排出される刈草は、アクスルユニットU前側の左右前輪1,1間に亘って地面Jに接近する位置まで垂下した弾性フロントカバーFにより遮蔽され、アクスルユニットUの伝動ケース6方向へ飛散する泥土や刈草は、弾性外周カバー9と弾性フロントカバーFとの間のアクスルユニットU側に取着の飛散防止板10により遮蔽される。該飛散防止板10は、ゴム材や樹脂材等の弾性部材で形成してあり、アクスルユニットU下側の保護カバー47に前後方向に向け取着し、最下降させた刈刃4、及び、弾性フロントカバーFと略同位置の高さまで垂下してある。又、弾性フロントカバーFと飛散防止板10の前端には隙間32を設け、前進走行時の草刈作業において、弾性フロントカバーFの後方への湾曲、又は、屈曲を阻害しないようにしてある。更に、飛散防止板10は、平面視において後方右外方へ向け傾斜αさせて設け、後下部は後方上方へ向け切断してあるので、後進走行時に飛散防止板10が地面Jや草等に引っ掛からず、後進走行時には飛散防止板10の下部が確実に右外方へ向け湾曲し、泥土や刈草の飛散防止を安定して維持できる。刈取装置Kを昇降させるリンクアーム11,12からなるリンク機構により、刈取装置Kは、上昇させる際には後方へ移動しながら上昇し、下降させる際には前方へ移動しながら下降するので、飛散防止板10と弾性外周カバー9との隙間ができると、ここから刈草や泥土、小石等が右側方へ飛散する可能性がある。飛散防止効果を考慮すると、刈取装置Kがどのような状態であってもこの隙間ができない方が好ましいが、刈取装置Kを最下降させた状態時に、刈刃カバー8前端部や弾性外周カバー9前部が飛散防止板10へ接触すると弾性材の飛散防止板10が変形し、刈草や泥土の飛散防止効果が安定しないので、刈取装置K最下降位置、すなわち刈取装置Kが最も前位置に移動した位置においても刈刃カバー8や弾性外周カバー9の前端部が飛散防止板10に接触して大きく変形させることがないよう構成している。尚、飛散防止板10は図4に示すように、後下部の切断形状を直線に切断した形状(a)、曲線に丸く切断した形状(b)、又は多角形状に切断した形状(c)等でも同様の効果が期待できる。 3, most of the grass cut by the blade 4, which rotates to the right in plan view, is discharged from the outlet 29 at the rear right side of the blade cover 8 (forward of the right rear wheel 2) or from the rear center of the blade cover 8, but some grass clippings may be discharged from the front of the blade cover 8 or from the gap 30 between the right front wheel 1 and the blade cover 8 behind it. 刈刃4の回転により刈草や泥土がシール部材S部分に付着すると、伝動ケース6の下部嵌合部6aとシール部材S内側のリップ部との間に侵入し、特に泥土は研磨材の役割を果たすことでリップ部、又は、アルミ系の鋳物素材で形成された下部嵌合部6aが短時間に摩耗する。伝動ケース6内のオイルレベルLはシール部材Sよりも高いレベルまで充填されていることから、シール部材Sのシール効果が弱まると内部のオイルが漏洩してしまうという問題がある。ここにおいて、アクスルユニットU前側に、左右前輪1,1間に亘り地面近傍まで垂下延設した弾性フロントカバーFを設け、刈刃4を覆う刈刃カバー8の前端部には、平面視、刈刃4の回転軌跡外周縁Rに略沿う位置、及び、前輪1,1後方部位置で垂下する弾性外周カバー9を設け、回転する刈刃4の最前端位置から回転する方向側の操向ケース7の左右内側、且つ、前記弾性フロントカバーFと弾性外周カバー9との間に、最下降させた刈刃4と略同高さ位置まで垂下延設した前後方向の飛散防止板10を設けた草刈機の構成としている。図4は刈取装置Kを最も下降させた状態を示し、刈刃4と略同高さ位置まで飛散防止板10を垂下延設してある。この構成により、回転する刈刃4により飛散する刈草や泥土が、前輪1,1間に亘る弾性フロントカバーFにより遮られ、車体3前方へ飛散することがなく、刈刃カバー8前端部の刈刃4の回転軌跡外周縁Rに略沿う位置、及び、前輪1,1後方部位置で垂下する弾性外周カバー9により、刈刃4の回転により巻き上げられた土埃を刈刃カバー8内から前方、又は側方へ飛散排出されることを抑制できる。又、回転する刈刃4の最前端位置から回転する方向側の操向ケース7の左右内側、且つ、前記弾性フロントカバーFと弾性外周カバー9との間に、最下降させた刈刃4と略同高さ位置まで垂下延設した前後方向の飛散防止板10を設けているので、まず弾性外周カバー9で刈刃カバー8から土埃が前方又は側方へ飛散排出されることを抑制し、刈草の塊や泥土、小石が車体3前方へ飛散排出されることを弾性フロントカバーFが防ぎ、前後方向の飛散防止板10により、右側操向ケース7方向や右前輪1と刈取装置Kとの間隔部30から外方へ泥土や刈草、土埃等が飛散することを防止可能で、泥土付着に起因するアクスルユニットUの故障も防止できる。 When grass clippings or mud adhere to the seal member S as the cutting blade 4 rotates, they get in between the lower fitting 6a of the transmission case 6 and the lip on the inside of the seal member S. 左右一対の前輪(1),(1)及び後輪(2),(2)を懸架する車体(3)腹部に、略水平回転する刈刃(4)を備えた刈取装置(K)を上下昇降自在に設け、車体(3)後部に設けた原動機(5)により、刈取装置(K)や前輪(1),(1)及び後輪(2),(2)を駆動可能な四輪駆動形態の草刈機において、前輪(1),(1)は、車体(3)にセンターピボット形態で揺動自在に支持したアクスルユニット(U)により伝動され、このアクスルユニット(U)左右両端部の伝動ケース(6)から下方へ向け延設の下部嵌合部(6a)を挿通させるシール部材(S)を取着した操向ケース(7)を下部嵌合部(6a)に嵌合枢支し、アクスルユニット(U)前側に、左右前輪(1),(1)間に亘り地面近傍まで垂下延設した弾性フロントカバー(F)を設け、刈刃(4)を覆う刈刃カバー(8)の前端部には、平面視、刈刃(4)の回転軌跡外周縁(R)に略沿う位置、及び、前輪(1),(1)後方部位置で垂下する弾性外周カバー(9)を設け、回転する刈刃(4)の最前端位置から回転する方向側の操向ケース(7)の左右内側、且つ、前記弾性フロントカバー(F)と弾性外周カバー(9)との間に、最下降させた刈刃(4)と略同高さ位置まで垂下延設した前後方向の飛散防止板(10)を設け、前記刈取装置(K)を昇降する前後一対のリンクアーム(11),(12)を左右に配置し、該リンクアーム(11),(12)上部前端を車体(3)側に、下部後端を刈刃カバー(8)側に枢支するリンク機構を設けることにより、該刈取装置(K)を略水平状態のまま昇降させるよう構成し、飛散防止板(10)をアクスルユニット(U)下側へ取着するとともに、飛散防止板(10)の後下部を後方上方へ向け切断したことを特徴とする草刈機。 A mower (K) having a cutting blade (4) that rotates approximately horizontally is provided on the underside of a vehicle body (3) that suspends a pair of left and right front wheels (1), (1) and rear wheels (2), (2) so as to be movable up and down, and the mower (K) and the front wheels (1), (1) and rear wheels (2), (2) are driven by a prime mover (5) provided at the rear of the vehicle body (3).
