This invention relates to a rain gutter structure, and in particular to a rain gutter structure that is installed at the joint between the exterior wall of the main building and the roof material of the lower building.

Figure 14 shows a side view and a front view of a conventional flashing, and Figure 15 is a side view showing how the flashing shown in Figure 14 is attached to the joint.

First, referring to each of Fig. 14 (1) and (2), the rain guard 70 is formed by bending a single long metal plate, and has a vertical portion 71 extending vertically upward, and an inclined portion 72 extending diagonally downward from the lower end of the vertical portion 71 to the outward side (to the right in Fig. 14 (1)). In addition, a hanging portion 73 extending vertically downward from the inclined portion 72 is connected to the outer end of the inclined portion 72, and a flange portion 74 extending outward approximately parallel to the inclined portion 72 is connected to the lower end of the hanging portion 73.

Next, we will explain how to attach the rain guard 70 to the joint shown in Figure 14.

First, referring to FIG. 15 (1), at the joint portion 90 in the girder direction (depth direction in the figure), an exterior wall base 76 is installed on the exterior wall portion 75 of the main house, and sheathing boards 82 are installed on the roof portion 81 of the lower house, and waterproof paper 80 is laid across the outer surface of the exterior wall base 76 and the upper surface of the sheathing boards 82. Furthermore, in the roof portion 81, roof material 83 is further installed on top of the waterproof paper 80.

Next, referring to FIG. 15 (2), a coping 84 is installed on the end of the roofing material 83 on the side of the exterior wall base 76. After construction at the joint 90 has been carried out in this manner, the flashing 70 is lowered diagonally from above toward the exterior wall base 76, the roofing material 83, and the coping 84 so as to cover the joint 90.

Next, referring to FIG. 15 (3), the vertical portion 71 of the flashing 70 is fixed to the exterior wall base 76, and the inclined portion 72 is fixed to the roof material 83 via the coping 84. Then, a moisture-permeable waterproof sheet 77 is attached to the exterior wall base 76 and the vertical portion 71 so as to cover the upper outer surface of the vertical portion 71. Next, multiple rod-shaped furring strips 78 extending vertically are installed at predetermined intervals in the girder direction on the outer surface of the moisture-permeable waterproof sheet 77, and plate-shaped exterior wall materials 79 are installed from the outer surface of the furring strips 78 so as to span each of the furring strips 78.

Finally, referring to (4) in Figure 15, the installation of the flashing 70 to the joint portion 90 is completed.

The conventional gutter 70 described above could be installed without any problems in the conventional general construction procedure, in which the exterior wall material 79, etc. are installed after the roof material 83 is installed.

FIG.

Figure 1 shows a side view and a front view of a gutter structure installed at a joint in the girder direction according to a first embodiment of the present invention, Figure 2 shows an enlarged side view of the leading gutter shown in Figure 1, and Figure 3 shows an enlarged side view of the trailing gutter shown in Figure 1.

First, referring to (1) and (2) in FIG. 1, the gutter structure 1 is installed at the juncture in the girder direction between the outer wall of the main building, which extends vertically as described below, and the roof of the eaves, which extends outward from the middle of the outer wall, and includes a front gutter 10 and a rear gutter 20 that connects to the front gutter 10.

Referring now to FIG. 2, the rain guard 10 is made by pressing a single long steel plate with a thickness of 0.35 mm and a longitudinal length (length in the depth direction in FIG. 2) of 1,829 mm, and is provided with an exterior wall base adjacent portion 11 that extends vertically upward, and a first connecting portion 12 that is formed continuously from the lower end of the exterior wall base adjacent portion 11.

The portion 11 adjacent to the exterior wall base is set to a height of 120 mm and is used to attach the exterior wall section to the exterior wall base, which will be described later.

The first connecting portion 12 has a short side length (left-right length in FIG. 2) of 30 mm, and includes a first extending portion 13 that extends diagonally downward on the outer side (to the right in FIG. 2), and a first bent portion 14 that is formed at the outer end of the first extending portion 13 and folds back downward. The first bent portion 14 has a width of 10 mm, and the interior angle with the first extending portion 13 is set to 30°. The effects of this configuration will be described later.

Referring further to FIG. 3, the rear rain guard 20 is made by pressing a single long steel plate with a thickness of 0.35 mm and a longitudinal length (length in the depth direction in FIG. 3) of 1,829 mm, and includes a roof adjacent portion 21 and a second connecting portion 22 formed continuously from the end of the roof adjacent portion 21 on the outer wall side.

The second connecting portion 22 includes a second extending portion 23 that extends diagonally upward from the outer wall portion side, and a second bent portion 24 that is formed at the outer wall portion side end of the second extending portion 23 and folds back upward. The second bent portion 24 has a width of 10 mm and an inner angle with the second extending portion 23 of 30°. The effect of this configuration will be described later.

The roof adjacent portion 21 is used for mounting to the roof portion described later. The roof adjacent portion 21 includes an inclined portion 25 that extends diagonally downward from the outer end of the second extension portion 23 at the same inclination as the second extension portion 23, a hanging portion 26 that extends perpendicularly downward from the outer end of the inclined portion 25 relative to the inclined portion 25, and a flange portion 27 that extends outward from the lower end of the hanging portion 26 approximately parallel to the second connecting portion 22. The short side length (left-right length in FIG. 3) from the outer wall side end of the second extension portion 23 to the outer end of the inclined portion 25 is set to 85 mm, the height of the hanging portion 26 is set to 18 mm, and the short side length of the flange portion 27 is set to 30 mm.

Referring again to FIG. 1 (1) and (2), the front flashing 10 and the rear flashing 20 are connected by the first bent portion 14 of the first connecting portion 12 engaging with the second bent portion 24 of the second connecting portion 22. The effects of this configuration will be described later.

Figure 4 is a schematic side view showing how to attach the rain gutter structure shown in Figure 1 to the joint before construction of the roof section.

First, referring to FIG. 4 (1), at the joint portion 90 in the girder direction (depth direction in the figure), an exterior wall base 76 is installed on the vertically extending exterior wall portion 75 of the main building, and a sheathing board 82 is installed on the roof portion 81 of the lower building, extending from the middle of the exterior wall portion 75 so as to slope downward and outward. Waterproof paper 80 is laid across the outer surface of the exterior wall base 76 and the upper surface of the sheathing board 82.

In this state, the front flashing 10 is attached and fixed to the exterior wall base 76 via the exterior wall base adjacent portion 11. Next, a moisture-permeable waterproof sheet 77 is attached to the exterior wall base 76 and the exterior wall base adjacent portion 11 so as to cover the upper outer surface of the exterior wall base adjacent portion 11, and multiple rod-shaped furring strips 78 extending vertically are installed at predetermined intervals in the girder direction on the outer surface of the moisture-permeable waterproof sheet 77, and plate-shaped exterior wall material 79 is installed from the outer surface of the furring strips 78 so as to span each of the furring strips 78.

In this way, as shown in FIG. 4 (2), the construction of the front gutter 10 on the exterior wall section 75 and the construction up to the exterior wall material 79 are completed.

Next, referring to FIG. 4 (2), the roofing material 83 is installed on top of the waterproof paper 80 of the roof portion 81, including the area below the top gutter 10 where construction has been completed.

Next, referring to FIG. 4 (3), a further capping 84 is installed on the end of the roofing material 83 on the side of the exterior wall base 76, and then the rear gutter 20 is slid from the outer side of the capping 84 toward the exterior wall 75, and the second bent portion 24 of the rear gutter 20 is pushed into the gap between the first bent portion 14 and the roof 81 (capping 84). Then, since the configuration of the front gutter 10 and the rear gutter 20 is as described above, the first connecting portion 12 is bent and pushed upward by the second bent portion 24 being pushed in. When the second bent portion 24 is further pushed in from that state and positioned closer to the exterior wall 75 than the first bent portion 14, the second bent portion 24 separates from the first bent portion 14, the force pushing up the first connecting portion 12 is no longer applied, and the first connecting portion 12 returns to its original position. Then, as described above, the second folded portion 24 has a seam structure that folds back upward, and the first folded portion 14 has a seam structure that folds back downward, so the second folded portion 24 and the first folded portion 14 are hooked together and connected, as shown in FIG. 4 (4) and FIG. 1 (1). In this way, the second connecting portion 22 can be connected to the first connecting portion 12 when the rear flashing 20 is installed after the front flashing 10 and the outer wall portion 75 have been installed.

Finally, referring to FIG. 4 (4), the rear gutter 20 is fixed to the roof section 81 via the hanging part 26 of the roof section adjacent part 21 and the coping 84, completing the installation of the gutter structure 1 to the joint part 90.

This configuration allows construction on the roof 81 side to be carried out after construction on the exterior wall 75 side, improving construction efficiency.

In addition, the connection structure is simple with a seam structure, which is advantageous in terms of cost.

Furthermore, since the first connecting part 12 can be bent and there is play in the engagement part of the first bent part 14 and the second bent part 24, each of which has an internal angle of 30°, it is possible to adjust the inclination angle of the first connecting part 12 and the second connecting part 22, making it possible to accommodate roofs with various slopes.

Figure 5 is a front view and a side view of a front flashing end used to process the end of the front flashing shown in Figure 1, Figure 6 is a front view and a side view of a rear flashing end used to process the end of the rear flashing shown in Figure 1, Figure 7 is a schematic diagram showing a method of processing the end using the front flashing end shown in Figure 5, and Figure 8 is a schematic diagram showing a method of processing the end using the rear flashing end shown in Figure 6.

First, referring to (1) and (2) of FIG. 5, the gutter end 31 is formed by pressing a single steel plate having a thickness of 0.35 mm, and includes a gutter cover portion 32 having a rectangular shape, a third bent portion 33 that is bent back from the lower end of the gutter cover portion 32 toward the upper side of the gutter side described later, and a nailing portion 34 that extends from one of the lateral ends of the gutter cover portion 32 in the opposite direction to the third bent portion 33. The effect of this configuration will be described later. The gutter cover portion 32 has a width (length in the left-right direction of FIG. 5 (2)) of 30 mm and a height of 110 mm, the third bent portion 33 has a short side length of 10 mm, and the nailing portion 34 has a width (length in the left-right direction of FIG. 5 (1)) of 50 mm and a height of 80 mm.

Next, referring to (1) and (2) of FIG. 6, the rear rain guard end 36 is formed by pressing a single steel plate having a thickness of 0.35 mm, and has a rectangular rear rain guard cover portion 37 and a fourth bend portion 38 that folds back from the lower end of the rear rain guard cover portion 37 to the upper side of the rear rain guard side described later. The effect of this configuration will be described later. The rear rain guard cover portion 37 has a width (left-right length in FIG. 6 (2)) of 85 mm and a height of 110 mm, and the fourth bend portion 38 has a short side length of 10 mm.

Next, referring to FIG. 7 (1), the leading flashing 10 is attached to the exterior wall base 76 above the leading eaves trim 86, which extends horizontally. The portion of the leading flashing 10 that protrudes from the eaves side end of the leading eaves trim 86 is cut off at the boundary shown by the dashed line in the figure. After aligning the positions of the eaves side ends of the leading flashing 10 and the leading eaves trim 86 in this way, the leading flashing end 31 is brought closer to the leading eaves trim 86 from below the leading eaves trim 86, and the third bend 33 is hooked onto the lower end 87 of the leading eaves trim 86 as shown in FIG. 7 (2), while the nailing portion 34 is overlapped with the flange portion 88 of the leading eaves trim 86.

Next, referring to FIG. 7 (2), a nail 35 is driven from the nail driving portion 34 toward the exterior wall base 76, and the nail driving portion 34 and the flange portion 88 are fastened to the exterior wall base 76. Furthermore, the leading rain flashing cover portion 32 is folded at the portion shown by the dashed dotted line in the figure, and the portion of the leading rain flashing cover portion 32 located above the first connecting portion 12 is overlapped with the first connecting portion 12.

Next, referring to (3) in Figure 7, the gable end of the gable 10 is covered by the gable cover 32, and the installation of the gable end 31, i.e., the end processing of the gable 10 by the gable end 31, is first completed.

Next, referring to FIG. 8 (1), the installation of the exterior wall material 79 and the back flashing 20 and the alignment of the back flashing 20 and the front gable end of the front gable end 86 are completed from the state of FIG. 7 (3). In this state, the back flashing end 36 is brought closer to the front gable end 86 from below the front gable end 86, and as shown in FIG. 8 (2), the fourth bend 38 is hooked onto the lower end 87 of the front gable end 86 and the back flashing end 36 is butted against the front gable end 31, so that no gap is created between the front gable end 31 and the back flashing end 36. If the back flashing end 36 protrudes outward from the outer end of the inclined portion 25 of the back flashing 20 during the arrangement, the protruding portion is cut off at this point.

Next, referring to FIG. 8 (2), nails 39 are driven from the rear flashing cover part 37 toward the leading eaves water trim 86 to fasten the rear flashing end 36 to the leading eaves water trim 86. Furthermore, the rear flashing cover part 37 is folded at the part shown by the dashed dotted line in the figure, and the part of the rear flashing cover part 37 located above the second connecting part 22 and the inclined part 25 is overlapped with the second connecting part 22 and the inclined part 25.

Finally, referring to (3) in Figure 8, the rear flashing cover 37 covers the eaves side end of the rear flashing 20, completing the installation of the rear flashing end 36, i.e., completing the end processing of the rear flashing 20 using the rear flashing end 36, and completing the end processing of the flashing structure 1.

This configuration makes it easier to process the ends of the front and rear flashings 10 and 20, as this eliminates the need for processing.

Figure 9 is a schematic side view showing the attachment state of the girder-direction joint portion of the girder-direction girder structure according to the second embodiment of the present invention, and corresponds to (4) of Figure 4 of the first embodiment. Figure 10 is an enlarged side view of the rear girder shown in Figure 9, and Figure 11 is a plan view of the girder structure shown in Figure 9.

Referring to these figures, the flashing structure 2 is formed by replacing the rear flashing 20 in the flashing structure 1 according to the first embodiment with a rear flashing 40. Note that the other components (front flashing 10) are the same as those in the flashing structure 1 according to the first embodiment, and therefore the description will not be repeated here.

Referring to FIG. 10, the rear rain guard 40 includes a rear rain guard cover body 50 formed by bending a single metal plate, a ventilation member 51, and a drainpipe 59. The rear rain guard cover body 50, the lower plate portion 54 of the ventilation member 51 described below, and the drainpipe 59 are all formed by pressing a single long steel plate having a plate thickness of 0.35 mm and a longitudinal length (depth direction length) of 1,829 mm.

The rear rain guard cover body 50 is provided with a second connecting portion 42 having a second extension portion 43 extending diagonally upward toward the outer wall portion 75 shown in FIG. 9 and a second bent portion 44 having a width of 10 mm and an inner angle with the second extension portion 43 set at 30°, an inclined portion 45 extending diagonally downward from the outer end of the second extension portion 43 at the same inclination as the second connecting portion 42, a hanging portion 46 extending perpendicularly downward from the outer end of the inclined portion 45 relative to the inclined portion 45, and a flange portion 47 extending outward from the lower end of the hanging portion 46 approximately parallel to the second connecting portion 42, and a plurality of ventilation openings 48 formed parallel to the outer end near the outer end of the inclined portion as shown in FIG. 11. The short side length (left-right length) from the end of the second extension 43 on the outer wall 75 side to the outer side of the inclined portion 45 is set to 85 mm, the height of the hanging portion 46 is set to 18 mm, and the short side length of the flange portion 47 is set to 30 mm.

The ventilation member 51 is installed on the underside of the second connecting portion 42 and the inclined portion 45, closer to the end of the outer wall portion 75 than the ventilation opening 48, and is rod-shaped with a length of 1829 mm, with a trapezoidal cross section in the inclination direction of the second connecting portion 42 and the inclined portion 45. It is equipped with a ventilation material 53 having a plurality of vent holes 52 penetrating from the surface on the ventilation opening 48 side to the surface on the outer wall portion 75 side, and a lower plate portion 54 formed by bending the outer wall portion 75 side so as to raise it, which is laid on the underside of the ventilation material 53. The ventilation material 53 is made of a plurality of laminated synthetic resin sheets, each having an uneven cross-sectional shape, which are connected to each other by heat fusion and integrated.

The drain 59 is formed by bending the outer wall 75 side upward and folding the upper end back toward the ventilation member 51 side.

The effect of configuring the rear rain guard 40 in this way will be described later.

Refer to FIG. 9 for the state of attachment of the rain gutter structure 2 to the joint portion 90 in the row direction (depth direction in FIG. 9). First, an opening 85 is provided in the sheathing board 82, and waterproof paper 80 is laid across the outer surface of the exterior wall base 76 and the upper surface of the sheathing board 82, except for the location of the opening 85. The effect of this arrangement will be described later. From this arrangement, the rain gutter 10 through the exterior wall material 79 are then constructed.

After the installation of the rain gutter 10 and the exterior wall material 79, the gutter 59 is placed and fixed along the outer edge of the opening 85, and then the roof material 83 is placed on top of the gutter 59 and the sheathing board 82 and fixed.

Finally, slide the rear flashing cover body 50 with the ventilation member 51 installed toward the outer wall portion 75 on the top surface of the roof material 83, push the second bent portion 44 into the gap between the first bent portion 14 and the roof portion 81, mate the second bent portion 44 with the first bent portion 14 to connect the front flashing 10 and the rear flashing 40, and fasten the rear flashing 40 to the sheathing board 82 to complete the installation of the flashing structure 2 to the joint portion 90.

As described above, the sheathing board 82 has an opening 85 that connects the inside and outside of the building. The rear flashing 40 is also configured as described above, allowing ventilation between the inside and outside of the building through the ventilation opening 48 and the vent hole 52 (ventilation material 53). Therefore, in the joint portion 90 where the flashing structure 2 is installed, an air passage 57 is formed that connects the ventilation opening 48 facing the outside to the opening 85 facing the inside of the building. Rainwater that has entered the inside of the rear flashing 40 through the ventilation opening 48 is prevented from entering the opening 85 by the drain 59.

When configured in this way, the rear rain guard 40 has a ventilation function, which is also good from the perspective of ventilation.

Figure 12 is a schematic side view showing the installation state of a gutter structure according to a third embodiment of the present invention at a joint in the inter-beam direction, and corresponds to Figure 4 (4) of the first embodiment, and Figure 13 is an enlarged side view of the rear gutter shown in Figure 12.

Referring to these figures, the gutter structure 3 is formed by replacing the rear gutter 20 in the gutter structure 1 according to the first embodiment with a rear gutter 60, and is attached to the joint portion 90 in the inter-beam direction (depth direction in FIG. 12). Note that the other components (front gutter 10) are the same as those in the gutter structure 1 according to the first embodiment, so the description will not be repeated here.

Referring to FIG. 13, the rear rain gutter 60 is formed by bending a single long steel plate having a thickness of 0.35 mm and a longitudinal length (depth length) of 1,829 mm by pressing, and is provided with a second connecting portion 62 having a second bent portion 64 with an internal angle of 30° set with a second extension portion 63 extending horizontally toward the outer wall portion 75 side shown in FIG. 12, a horizontal portion 65 extending horizontally further outward from the outer end of the second extension portion 63, a folded portion 68 folded back from the outer end of the horizontal portion 65, a hanging portion 66 extending vertically downward from the outer wall portion 75 side end of the folded portion 68 relative to the horizontal portion 65, and a flange portion 67 extending outward from the lower end of the hanging portion 66 approximately parallel to the horizontal portion 65. The short side length (left-right length) from the end of the second extension 63 on the outer wall 75 side to the end on the outer side of the horizontal section 65 is set to 55 mm, the short side length of the folded-back section 68 is set to 17 mm, the height of the hanging section 66 is set to 23 mm, and the short side length of the flange section 67 is set to 90 mm. The effects of this configuration will be described later.

Refer to Figure 12 for the installation state of the rain gutter structure 3 to the joint part 90. First, the rain gutter structure 3 is installed to the joint part 90 in the inter-beam direction.

At the joint 90, an exterior wall base 76 is installed on the exterior wall 75 of the main house, which extends vertically, and a sheathing board 82 is installed on the roof 81 of the lower house, which extends horizontally from the middle of the exterior wall 75 toward the outside. Waterproof paper 80 is laid across the outer surface of the exterior wall base 76 and the top surface of the sheathing board 82. From this position, the rain gutter 10 to the exterior wall material 79 are installed, and then a coping 84 is placed and fixed along the end of the sheathing board 82 on the exterior wall 75 side.

Then, slide the rear flashing 60 on the top surface of the sheathing board 82 and the waterproof paper 80 toward the exterior wall section 75, and push the second folded section 64 into the gap between the first folded section 14 and the roof section 81 (cap board 84), and mate the second folded section 64 with the first folded section 14 to connect the front flashing 10 and the rear flashing 60.

Finally, the rear gutter 60 is fastened to the sheathing board 82 via the retaining clip 69 attached to the outer end of the flange portion 67 of the rear gutter 60, completing the installation of the gutter structure 3 to the joint portion 90 in the inter-beam direction. The rear gutter 60 also functions as a backing board, and after the installation of the gutter structure 3 is complete, the roof material 83 is inserted between the folded portion 68 and the flange portion 67 and fastened to the sheathing board 82.

With this configuration, the rain gutter 10 used for construction in the longitudinal direction can also be used for construction in the span direction, further improving construction efficiency.

In each of the above embodiments, the first and second bent portions are formed at a specific angle, but they may be formed at other angles as long as they can be fitted together.

In addition, in each of the above embodiments, the front and rear flashings are connected via the first and second bends, but they may be connected by other connecting structures.

In addition, in each of the above embodiments, the first connecting portion has a first extension portion and a first bent portion, and the second connecting portion has a second extension portion and a second bent portion, but other configurations are also acceptable as long as the second connecting portion can be connected to the first connecting portion after the construction of the flashing and the exterior wall portion. Also, it is not necessary to have only a connecting structure and not have the first extension portion and the second extension portion.

Furthermore, in each of the above embodiments, a front rain guard end and a rear rain guard end are used for end processing, but these may not be used and end processing may be performed by bending the end or using other materials.

Furthermore, in the first embodiment above, the rear flashing end was installed abutting against the front flashing end, but if the roof (front eaves trim) is sloped, the rear flashing end is tilted along the slope of the roof and partially covers the front flashing end so that no gap occurs between it and the front flashing end. In this case, the fourth bend of the rear flashing end is hooked onto the bottom end of the front eaves trim and the bottom end of the front flashing end.

Furthermore, in the first and third embodiments described above, a capping board was used, but an L-shaped metal fitting may be used instead of the capping board.

Furthermore, in the second embodiment described above, the ventilation material has a trapezoidal cross section, but it may have another rectangular shape.

Furthermore, in the second embodiment described above, the ventilation material had a specific configuration, but other configurations are also possible as long as the ventilation material has multiple ventilation openings that penetrate from the surface on the ventilation opening side to the surface on the outer wall side.

Furthermore, in the third embodiment above, the rear flashing is attached via a retaining clip, but it may also be attached directly.

Furthermore, in the third embodiment above, the rear gutter includes a drain, but this is not necessary.

Furthermore, in each of the above embodiments, the front and rear flashings are formed of a specific material, with specific dimensions and with a specific shape, but they may be formed of other materials, with other dimensions and with other shapes.

Furthermore, in each of the above embodiments, the rain gutter structure is used in a construction method in which the construction of the roof section is completed after the construction of the exterior wall section is completed, but even if it is used in a conventional construction method in which the construction of the exterior wall section is completed after the construction of the roof section is completed, it does not hinder the conventional construction method.
