Description

The present invention relates to a device for receiving falling objects and preventing them from falling to the ground when they fall from the work space of a scaffolding structure toward an outside space during high-altitude work in the work space of the scaffolding structure at a construction site or the like.

When working at height in the work space of a scaffolding structure, there is a risk that tools, work equipment, and other items used by workers may accidentally fall into the outer space outside the work space during work. Such falling objects may hit people passing by on the ground, potentially resulting in personal injury.

The applicant has therefore proposed a fallen object receiving device called Morning Glory, as described in Patent Document 1. This fallen object receiving device protrudes from the scaffolding structure towards the outer space, and is fixed in a position with its free end facing diagonally upwards so that it can easily receive fallen objects. Depending on the site, soundproof sheets, soundproof panels, or other covering materials may be selectively attached to the outer surface of the work space facing the outer space of the scaffolding structure for soundproofing purposes, etc.

However, when work needs to be suspended due to bad weather, for example, the falling object receiving device is at risk of being blown around by strong winds, so it is desirable to configure it so that it can be stored. For this reason, as in Patent Document 1, the falling object receiving device is configured so that its base end is pivoted to the scaffolding structure via a horizontal shaft and its position can be changed between an operating position in which the free end protrudes toward the outside space, and a stored position in which the free end faces upward and is superimposed on the vertical surface of the scaffolding structure.

However, because the fallen object receiving device is attached and fixed to the support pillars of the scaffolding structure via a bracket having a pivot structure, it is inevitable that a small gap will occur between the edge of the base end of the fallen object receiving device and the outer surface of the work space of the scaffolding structure, and if small items such as bolts, nuts, or screws fall, they may pass through the gap.
As a result, the original purpose cannot be fully achieved.

For this reason, the applicant has proposed an invention in Patent Document 2 in which a shielding device is provided at the base end of the falling object receiving device, the shielding member being provided to cover the gap.

Patent No. 5919408

According to the device proposed in Patent Document 2, any object that an operator accidentally drops into the outer space is received by the falling object receiving device while it is still falling. At this time, the mounting base at the base end of the falling object receiving device is provided with a shielding member that covers the above-mentioned gap, so even small objects such as screws cannot pass through and can be received appropriately.

When not in use, the shielding member can be folded by rotating it toward the mounting base at the base end of the falling object receiving device and stacked on top of the mounting base, making it convenient for storage and transportation.

However, in the examples of the invention in Patent Document 2, the shielding member is pivotally connected to the mounting base at the base end of the falling object receiving device by a hinge-type pivoting means, so there is still room for improvement from the perspective of reducing production costs.

In the case of Patent Document 2, the shielding member is configured to be freely rotatable, which has the advantage that the gap can be covered simply by changing the angle at which the shielding member stands depending on the size of the gap. On the other hand, if the shielding member stands close to a vertical position, there is a risk that it will be rotated toward the mounting base at the base end of the load receiving device and fall over when blown by wind, which means that there is a risk of opening up the gap.

Therefore, the present invention aims to provide a device that solves the above problems by revising the invention proposed in Patent Document 2.

In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a means for preventing the falling of objects, comprising a scaffolding comprising a scaffolding structure forming a work space having a covering member selected from a sheet material and a panel material attached to its outer surface, and a fallen object receiving device protruding in an upwardly inclined position toward the outer space , the base end of the fallen object receiving device being provided with a flat plate portion facing the outer surface of the work space, and the flat plate portion being used as a mounting base to form a shielding device, which covers a gap (S) between the flat plate portion and the covering member, and the gap (S) when the covering member is a panel material and the gap (S1) when the covering member is a sheet material are such that S2<S1, while the shielding device is capable of preventing the falling of objects by covering the gap (S2) (S1). The shielding device is configured to cover the gap in this case as well, and with respect to an advance/retract direction M which includes a width direction L of the falling object receiving device and a forward direction M1 from the falling object receiving device toward the scaffolding structure of the mounting base which is inclined downward , and a backward direction M2 directed in the opposite direction, the shielding device is provided with a shielding member which is movable in the advance/retract direction M relative to the mounting base, and a control means which guides the shielding member in the advance/retract direction M while restricting it from moving in the width direction L, and the shielding member covers the gap (S) by moving in the advance/retract direction M1 along the downwardly inclined upper surface of the mounting base, and is configured so that an upward standing wall which is bent and formed at the tip edge of the shielding member abuts against the covering member and stops, and the standing wall forms a V-shaped gutter .

In this case, it is preferable to provide a fixing means for fixing the shielding member so that it does not move at any moving position in the forward/backward direction M.

It is also preferable to provide a locking means for releasably locking the shielding member to the mounting base so that movement in the forward direction M1 is prevented when the shielding member is moved in the backward direction M2.

In a preferred embodiment, the shielding member is configured to overlap the mounting base without protruding from the mounting base when moved in the backward direction M2.

More preferably, the shielding member has an upwardly bent upright wall at its tip edge, and when moved in the forward direction M1, forms an extension that includes the upright wall and protrudes from the mounting base, and is configured to cover the gap (S) with the extension.

In an embodiment of the present invention, the shielding device is provided with a slot that is provided in the shielding member and extends in the forward/backward direction M, a bolt that is inserted into the slot and fixed to a predetermined position on the mounting base, and a nut that loosely fastens the shielding member and the mounting base to each other via the bolt. Thus, the slot and bolt constitute the control means, and the bolt and nut constitute the fixing and holding means.

According to the present invention, a shielding device 18 is provided that can cover the gap S formed between the outer surface X of the work space in the scaffolding structure 1 and the base end of the falling object receiving device 4.

In this case, the shielding device 18 is configured so that the shielding member 19 is movable in the forward and backward direction M relative to the mounting base 17 at the base end of the falling object receiving device 4, and the shielding member 19 is moved in the forward direction M1 to cover the gap S. Therefore, even if gaps S1 and S2 of different sizes exist depending on the site, it can be flexibly dealt with, and the gap can always be covered in a stable and suitable manner.

A preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings.

(Configuration of scaffolding structure and fallen object receiving device)
As shown in Figure 1, the scaffolding structure 1 is of a known configuration, and although the illustration shows a frame scaffolding, it may be a single-tube scaffolding or other scaffolding, and a work space is formed by arranging scaffolding boards 3 in upper and lower tiers on supports 2 extending in the vertical direction.

At a high position on the scaffolding structure 1, a panel-shaped fallen object receiving device 4 is provided, which protrudes toward the outer space Y outside the outer surface X of the work space formed by the pillars 2 and scaffolding boards 3.

The falling object receiving device 4 is formed to have a width dimension W corresponding to the spacing between the supports 2, 2 in the scaffolding structure 1, is connected along the outer surface X of the work space, and is usually called a morning glory. Note that the falling object receiving device 4 shown in the figure is formed in the shape of a rectangular panel in a plan view, but is formed in the shape of a triangular panel at the corners of the scaffolding structure 1.

Each of the connected falling object receiving devices 4 is installed and used in a position (operating position) inclined upward from the base end to the free end so as to make it easier to receive falling objects from above, but in the event that work needs to be suspended due to bad weather or other reasons, there is a risk of them being blown around by strong winds. Therefore, by rotating as shown by the arrow U in Figure 1, the free end is moved upright, and the falling object receiving device 4 is stored in a position (storage position) superimposed on the outer surface X of the work space.

For this reason, as shown in FIG. 2, the falling object receiving device 4 is pivotally connected to an upper pivoting means 5 and a lower pivoting means 6 that are fixedly attached to the support 2 of the scaffolding structure 1. That is, both ends in the width direction of the base end of the falling object receiving device 4 are pivotally connected to the upper pivoting means 5, and the support means 7, 7 extending downward from both ends on the free end side of the falling object receiving device 4 are pivotally connected to the lower pivoting means 6.

As shown in Figures 2 and 3, the base end of the falling object receiving device 4 is constructed by protruding pivot pieces 9 from the base ends of side frames 8, 8 arranged on both sides in the width direction, and connecting the base ends of the side frames 8, 8 with a base frame 10. The base frame 10 is formed, for example, from an extruded aluminum material, and is positioned between the pivot pieces 9, 9 and has a flat plate portion 10a facing the outer surface X of the work space.

Therefore, the flat plate portion 10a is formed so that the gap S between the outer surface X of the working space of the scaffolding structure 1 and the base end of the falling object receiving device 4 is as narrow as possible, but since the falling object receiving device 4 is configured to be freely rotatable, the formation of a gap S as shown in the figure is unavoidable.

As shown in FIG. 3, the upper pivoting means 5 is configured with a support bracket 13 having a fastening means 11 such as a clamp metal fitting at the top and a locking means 12 at the bottom, and a pivot 14 is provided on the support bracket 13. As shown in the figure, the fastening means 11 is detachably fixed to a predetermined position on the support column 2, and the locking means 12 is mounted on a beam material 2a fixed to the support column 2 and supported on the side of the support column 2. The fallen object receiving device 14 is pivotally connected to the upper pivoting means 5 by inserting the pivot 14 through the pivot piece 9.

In the illustrated example, the lower pivoting means 6 is of the same configuration as the upper pivoting means 5, and is detachably fixed to a predetermined location on the support 2 below the upper pivoting means 5. The lower end of the support means 7 is then pivoted to the lower pivoting means 6. The support means 7 is composed of a telescopic rod such as a nested rod as in the illustrated example, and its upper end is pivotally connected to the side frame 8 so as to be freely rotatable.

(Covering member)
As described above, a covering member may be attached to the outer surface X of the work space of the scaffolding structure 1 depending on the site, and the covering member may selectively be a sheet material such as a soundproof sheet or a thick panel material such as a soundproof panel, and forms part of the scaffolding structure 1.

Therefore, as shown in FIG. 3(B), naturally, the gap S1 formed between the scaffolding structure 1 provided with the sheet material 15 and the base end of the drop receiving device 4 (the tip edge of the flat plate portion 10a) and the gap S2 formed between the scaffolding structure 1 provided with the panel material 16 and the base end of the drop receiving device 4 (the tip edge of the flat plate portion 10a) will be different in size, such that S1>S2.

(Shielding device)
The present invention provides a shielding device 17 that can cover the gap S formed between the outer surface X of the work space in the scaffolding structure 1 and the base end of the falling object receiving device 4 (in the illustrated embodiment, the tip edge of the flat portion 10a of the base frame 10), and in particular, is intended to provide a device that can respond to changes in the size of the gap S as described above, and can always reliably seal the gap.

4 to 8 show a first embodiment of the present invention. As shown in Fig. 4, the falling object receiving device 4 has a base end similar to that of the prior art described above based on Fig. 2 and Fig. 3, and a flat plate portion 10a is extended from a base frame 10 that connects side frames 8, 8.

Therefore, in the first embodiment, the flat plate portion 10a forms the mounting base 17, and the shielding device 18 is provided on the mounting base 17.

The shielding device 18 is composed of a shielding member 19 that is attached in a stacked state on the upper surface of the mounting base 17, and a control means 20A and a fixed holding means 20B that are provided between the mounting base 17 and the shielding member 19.

(Shielding member)
As shown in Figures 5 to 7, with regard to the width direction L of the falling object receiving device 4 and the forward and backward direction M which includes the forward direction M1 from the base end of the falling object receiving device 4 toward the scaffolding structure 1 and the backward direction M2 in the opposite direction, the shielding member 19 is formed from a flat metal plate having a lower surface parallel to the upper surface of the mounting base 17 and is placed on the mounting base 17 so as to be freely movable in the forward and backward direction M, and in the illustrated embodiment, is placed on the mounting base 17 so as to be freely slidable.

Therefore, when the falling object receiving device 4 is protruded from the scaffolding structure 1 toward the outer space Y in an obliquely upward position, the shielding member 19 slides under its own weight along the mounting base 17, which is inclined downward, i.e., it is configured to automatically move in the forward direction M1 toward the scaffolding structure 1.

The shielding member 19 then moves in the forward direction M1, and assumes the forward position shown in FIG. 7(C). At this time, the shielding member 19 forms a protruding portion 19a by protruding the edge portion near the tip from the mounting base 17, and is configured so that the protruding portion 19a covers the above-mentioned gap S.

In this case, it is preferable to provide an upwardly bent upright wall 19b at the tip edge of the shielding member 19, so that the protruding portion 19a not only covers the gap S, but also forms a V-shaped gutter at the tip, as shown in Figure 8, allowing the falling object to be appropriately received.

The tip position of the protruding portion 19a, i.e., the protruding distance from the mounting base 17 to the tip (protruding amount of the protruding portion 19a), is determined by the movement distance of the shielding member 19 slid in the forward direction M1. Therefore, the sliding of the shielding member 19 makes it possible to change the protruding amount (protruding distance) steplessly. At this time, the shielding member 19 always moves forward and backward along the same plane as the upper surface of the mounting base 17 to form the protruding portion 19a.

By moving in the backward direction from the forward position, the shielding member 19 is put into the backward position as shown in FIG. 7(B). At this time, the shielding member 19 is stacked on the mounting base 17 without protruding from the mounting base 17. In other words, the edge portion near the tip of the shielding member 19 is stored on the mounting base 17 without forming the protruding portion 19a.

(Control Means and Fixing Means)
The shielding device 18 has a slot 21 provided in the shielding member 19 and extending in the forward/backward direction M, a bolt 22 inserted into the slot 21 and fixed to a predetermined position on the mounting base 17, and a nut 23 that loosely fastens the shielding member 19 and the mounting base 17 to each other via the bolt 22.

The slot 21 and bolt 22 form a control means 20A that guides the shielding member 19 in the forward and backward direction M while restricting it from moving in the width direction L.

Furthermore, the bolt 22 and nut 23 constitute a fixing means 20B that fixes the shielding member 19 so that it does not move at any moving position in the forward/backward direction M. Therefore, the shielding member 19 is fixed in an immovable state by fastening the bolt 22 and nut 23, and is made movable again by loosening the bolt 22 and nut 23.

In the illustrated example, a nut 23 is fixed to the mounting base 17 by crimping or the like, located below a slot 21 provided in the shielding member 19, and a bolt 22 is inserted into the slot 21 from above the shielding member 19 and screwed into the nut 23 to fix it in place.

However, the relationship between the nut and bolt may be arranged in the opposite manner to that shown in the figure. In other words, the bolt may be erected so that it faces upward from the mounting base 17, and the nut may be screwed onto the tip of the bolt with the bolt inserted into the slot.

In the illustrated example, the nut 23 is a cylindrical nut with a flange, and by fixing the flange to the upper surface of the mounting base 17, a pedestal 23a is formed that is slightly elevated from the upper surface of the mounting base 17. The pedestal 23a is made larger than the width of the slot 21, so the shielding member 19 stacked on the mounting base 17 is supported by the pedestal 23a, and in other parts a small gap is formed between the lower surface of the shielding member 19 and the upper surface of the mounting base 17. As a result, the shielding member 19 slides only in contact with the upper surface of the pedestal 23a, reducing frictional resistance, which makes it easy for the shielding member 19 to slide automatically under its own weight when the mounting base 17 is tilted.

In the illustrated configuration, the bolt 22 is a butterfly bolt, and has a head 22a that holds the shielding member 19 around the slot 21, and a knob 22b for manual operation.

(Action)
The shielding device 18 configured as described above can allow the shielding member 19 to slide freely in the forward/backward direction M by a distance corresponding to the length of the slot 21 by loosening the bolt 22, and can fix the shielding member 19 in any sliding position so that it cannot slide by tightening the bolt 22.

At this time, the shielding member 19 moves in the forward direction M1 to form a protruding portion 19a that protrudes from the mounting base 17 and is positioned on the same plane as the upper surface of the mounting base 17. The protruding amount (protruding distance) of the protruding portion 19a can be changed while being continuously adjusted within the range up to the maximum protruding position possible by the movement stroke allowed by the slot 21.

Figure 8 (A) shows a case where a sheet material 15 such as a soundproof sheet is provided on the outer surface X of the work space of the scaffolding structure 1, and Figure 8 (B) shows a case where a panel material 16 such as a soundproof panel is provided on the outer surface X of the work space of the scaffolding structure 1.

In both Figures 8(A) and 8(B), the falling object receiving device 4 is pivotally connected to the upper pivot means 5 and the lower pivot means 6, as in the conventional technology described above, and is installed in a movable position in which it protrudes diagonally upward toward the outer space.

By loosening the bolt shaft 22 and releasing the fixing of the fixing holding means 20B, the shielding device 18 can automatically cover the gap S between the covering member 24 and the mounting base 17 when the falling object receiving device 4 is installed and the mounting base 17 is in a predetermined inclined position. In other words, even if the gap S1 shown in FIG. 8(A) and the gap S2 shown in FIG. 8(B) differ in size such that S1>S2, both gaps are appropriately covered and no special work is required.

The shielding member 19, now in a freely slidable state, automatically moves in the forward direction M1 along the inclination of the mounting base 17, and stops when the upright wall 19b at the tip abuts against the covering member 24. As a result, the gaps S1 and S2 can be covered by the advancing portion 19a formed by the forward movement of the shielding member 19.

In either case of FIG. 8(A) or FIG. 8(B), when the falling object receiving device 4 is installed on the scaffolding structure 1 and in use, the bolt 22 may be tightened to fix the shielding member 19 with the fixing means 20B so that it cannot slide, but fixing is not necessary. As long as the falling object receiving device 4 is installed in a specified operating position, the shielding member 19 is biased in the forward direction M1 by its own weight, so there is no risk of it moving backward even if it is subjected to a strong wind, etc.

Moreover, the shielding member 19 can only move back and forth on the same plane as the top surface of the mounting base 17, so there is no risk of it falling over when blown over by strong winds from a pivoted upright position, as in the case of Patent Document 2, which uses a pivoting method, and it can maintain a stable state.

Then, when the fallen object receiving device 4 is to be removed from the scaffolding structure 1 for transport, storage, etc., the shielding member 19 is moved in the backward direction M2, and the entire device is stacked on top of the mounting base 17 for storage, and the shielding member 19 is fixed by the fixing means 20B so that it cannot slide.

Second Embodiment
9 and 10 show a second embodiment of the present invention, in which the shielding member 19 is provided with a locking means 20C that detachably locks to the mounting base 17 so as to prevent movement in the forward direction M1 when the shielding member 19 is moved in the backward direction M2 to be stored. Since the other configurations are the same as those of the first embodiment, the same components are given the same reference numerals, and the above description is incorporated herein by reference.

In the illustrated embodiment, the locking means 20C includes a locking portion 19c formed by bending downward the edge of the shielding member 19 facing the backward direction M2, and a holding portion 19d bent in the forward direction M1 from the locking portion 19c. When the shielding member 19 is stacked on the mounting base 17 to be stored, the locking portion 19c is locked to the rear end edge 10e of the mounting base 17 (flat plate portion 10a), and the holding portion 19d holds the rear end edge 10e. Note that the holding portion 19d does not necessarily have to be provided.

In the second embodiment, the fixing and holding means 20B consisting of the bolt 22 and nut 23 is tightened when it is necessary to fix the shielding member 19 at any position after it has been moved in the forward/backward direction M, but in other cases it may be left in a loose state.

In particular, as shown in FIG. 10(B), when the fallen object receiving device 4 is changed from an operating position in which the free end during use protrudes toward the outside space to a stored position in which the free end faces upward and is superimposed on the vertical surface of the scaffolding structure 1 when use is terminated, the shielding member 19, which has been stored by superimposing it on the mounting base 17, is fixed without sliding downward from the mounting base 17 by engaging the locking means 20C with the rear end edge 10e of the mounting base 17, so there is no need to tighten the bolt 22 and nut 23. Therefore, in the case of the second embodiment, it is not necessary to provide the fixing and holding means 20B, and a simple configuration is possible.

When the gap S is to be covered by the shielding device 18 with the falling object receiving device 4 in the operating position, the locking means 20C is detached from the rear end edge 10e and placed on the mounting base 17, as shown in FIG. 10(A), and the shielding member 19 is moved in the forward direction M1 via the control means 20A.

Third Embodiment
11 shows a third embodiment of the present invention. In the third embodiment, the configuration of the base end of the falling object receiving device 4 is different from that of the first embodiment, but other configurations are the same as those of the first embodiment, so the same components are given the same reference numerals and the above description is incorporated herein.

In the third embodiment, the base frame 10 that connects the base ends of the side frames 8, 8 is made of a frame material formed with a U-shaped cross section, with the upper plate-shaped portion forming a flat plate portion 10b, which serves as the mounting base 17 to provide a shielding device 18. As explained in the first embodiment, the shielding device 18 is composed of a shielding member 19 that is attached in a stacked state to the upper surface of the mounting base 17, and a control means 20A and a fixed holding means 20B that are provided between the mounting base 17 and the shielding member 19.
