However, in the pet cushion of Patent Document 1, the passage structure, i.e., the toy, is exposed to the outside when stored, making it difficult to store safely as the toy is easily covered in dust or damaged.

Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide a pet mat that can be stored compactly and allows toys to be safely stored.

In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides:
a body having an outer fabric and a lining fabric including a plurality of holes;

Below, a representative embodiment of the pet mat according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. However, the present invention is not limited to these drawings. The drawings are intended to conceptually explain the present invention, and therefore, for ease of understanding, dimensions, ratios, or numbers may be exaggerated or simplified as necessary.

In this embodiment, it is assumed that the pet mat 1 will be used by small animals such as rabbits, but this is not limited to this. As shown in Figures 2(A) and (B), the pet mat 1 comprises a main body 2, play equipment 3, and string 4. Here, play equipment 3 is a general term for play equipment 31 to 35.

The main body 2 has an outer fabric 21 and an inner fabric 22. The outer fabric 21 and the inner fabric 22 are attached at their outer edges by means of stitching or the like. Various fabrics such as woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, and nonwoven fabrics can be used as materials for the outer fabric 21 and the inner fabric 22. Furthermore, such fabrics may be made of not only natural fibers such as cotton and linen, but also chemical fibers such as nylon and polyester. The outer fabric 21 and the inner fabric 22 may be made of the same material or different materials.

The play equipment 3 is attached to the outer fabric 21. The play equipment 3 may be detachable from the outer fabric 21 via a fastener such as a hook-and-loop fastener 23 (detachable play equipment) or may be fixed to the outer fabric 21 (fixed play equipment).

In this embodiment, play equipment 31 to 33 that imitate vegetables, grass, and a field are provided as fixed play equipment. In addition, play equipment 34 and 35 that imitate a tunnel and an obstacle are provided as detachable play equipment. However, the fixed play equipment and the detachable play equipment are not limited to those exemplified above.
These play equipment 31 to 35 will be described in detail below.

The playground equipment 31 is a fixed playground equipment that resembles a field. The playground equipment 31 is made by sewing a rectangular piece of fabric with unevenness to resemble ridges. A rod-shaped object (such as a treat or another playground equipment) can be inserted into the space S (Fig. 1) that is formed between the playground equipment 31 and the outer fabric 21. It is also possible to place an object on top of the playground equipment 31. Furthermore, the unevenness of the playground equipment 31 provides a catch, allowing a pet to make movements as if digging a hole.

Playground equipment 32 is a fixed piece of equipment that resembles a field. Playground equipment 32 is made up of rectangular pieces of fabric that resemble grass, arranged radially, with a raised center. Pets can use this equipment 32 to simulate the experience of digging a hole. Alternatively, by placing treats or the like between the pieces of fabric that resemble grass, it can also be used as an educational toy.

The plaything 33 is a fixed plaything that resembles a carrot (vegetable). In the plaything 33, the root portion 33A is fixed to the main body 2, and the leaf portion 33B is formed in a loop shape. Therefore, a pet can play by pulling the leaf portion 33A. It is also possible to put treats or the like in the leaf portion 33B.

The play equipment 34 is a tunnel or passageway, and is one of the detachable play equipment. Pets can pass through or hide within the play equipment 34. The play equipment 34 is attached to the main body 2 via hook-and-loop fasteners 23, and is detached from the main body 2 when storing (see Figures 1 and 3(A)).

The walls that make up the play equipment 34 are made of fabric, and the entrance/exit sections 34A and 34B are reinforced with reinforcing materials such as urethane. Therefore, when the play equipment 34 is removed from the main body 2, it can be stored compactly by folding it at the center 34C (the section between the entrance/exit sections 34A and 34B) and then stacking the entrance/exit sections 34A and 34B.

The toy 35 is a detachable toy that resembles a doughnut. The toy 35 is a rod-shaped member that is stuffed with stuffing, and has hook-and-loop fasteners (not shown) attached to both ends. The toy 35 is therefore attached to the main body 2 by bending it and engaging both ends with the hook-and-loop fasteners 23 of the outer fabric 21. Pets can jump over the toy 35 and play with it.

Moving on to the explanation of the lining 22, as shown in FIG. 2(B), the lining 22 includes a number of holes 24 arranged along the outer edge 22A. Grommets are attached to the holes 24 to prevent the lining 22 from fraying.

The string 4 is inserted through the multiple holes 24. The holes 24 are only provided in the lining 22 and are not exposed on the front fabric 21 side. This prevents the pet's paws from getting caught in the string 4 or the eyelets (holes 24).

The string 4 is formed in a loop so that it spans between adjacent holes 24. Therefore, when the part with the string 4 is lifted, the weight of the pet mat 1 causes the main body 2 to deform so that the distance between adjacent holes 24 narrows, and the pet mat 1 enters a stored state (see Figures 4 (A) to (C)).

Next, a method of using the pet mat 1 will be described.
To let a pet play on the pet mat 1, first, the main body 2 is unfolded and placed on the floor with the outer fabric 21 facing up. Next, the playthings 34, 35, which are detachable playthings, are attached to the main body 2 via the hook-and-loop fasteners 23. This makes the pet mat 1 ready for the pet to play on (see FIG. 1). In this way, the preparation of the pet mat 1 is simple. The playthings 34, 35 may be attached to predetermined positions, or may be attached to different positions for each use.

To store the pet mat 1, first, the detachable playthings 34, 35 are removed from the main body 2 (see FIG. 3(A)). Next, the removed playthings 34, 35 are folded and placed in the center of the outer fabric 21 (see FIG. 3(B)). Then, the hook-and-loop fasteners 36 on the outer fabric 21 side and the hook-and-loop fasteners 37 on the inner fabric 22 side are attached so that the outer fabric 21 is on the inside (so that the outer fabrics 21 are close to each other) (see FIG. 3(C) and FIG. 4(A)). In this embodiment, the hook-and-loop fasteners 36, 37 are bonded together to form an adhesive portion, but the adhesive portion may be formed by, for example, a button or a snap button.

When the portions 4A and 4B of the string 4 that correspond to the hook-and-loop fasteners 36 and 37 are lifted, the outer edges of the main body 2 are pulled together by the string 4, and the main body 2 closes (FIGS. 4(B) and (C)). This puts the pet mat 1 into a stored state.

According to this embodiment, the pet mat 1 can be folded compactly. Moreover, it can be easily stored by simply pulling the string 4 like a drawstring bag.

In the stored state, the play equipment 3 is covered by the main body 2 and is not exposed to the outside. Therefore, the play equipment 3 in the stored state does not get dusty or damaged by contact with other objects, and can be stored safely. In addition, because the play equipment 34, 35 can be removed from the main body 2, the play equipment 3, which is folded compactly when stored but has a three-dimensional structure (is bulky) when assembled, can be placed on the main body 2.

Since multiple types of play equipment 31-35 are provided on the pet mat 1, pets can play with the play equipment 31-35 without getting bored. Moreover, by changing the position of the play equipment 34, 35, which are detachable, or by attaching a different play equipment 3 instead, pets will not get bored as easily.

The above describes specific aspects of a pet mat according to one embodiment of the present invention, but the present invention is not limited to these, and various design modifications are possible, and these design modifications are also included in the technical scope of the present invention.
