Description
The disclosed embodiment relates to a flush toilet.
Conventionally, a shielding member made of a non-combustible material that is connected to the drain socket and wall drain pipe of a flush toilet has been disclosed (see, for example, Patent Document 1). The shielding member has a roughly vertically long and short body, and has a circular insertion opening in the outflow pipe that connects to the drain pipe of the drain socket. The installation procedure for the drain pipe and drain socket in this fire-resistant flush toilet will be explained. First, the shielding member is assembled so that its insertion opening passes through the outflow pipe of the drain socket. Next, the drain socket is moved, and a ring-shaped seal member made of a non-combustible material on the side of the drain pipe of the shielding member is abutted against the upstream end opening of the drain pipe that extends horizontally above the floor surface, so as to be crushed in the front-to-rear direction of the flush toilet.
However, in the above-mentioned conventional flush toilets, a sealing member is provided on the rear surface of the shielding member main body, and as it is pressed against the main body in the front-to-rear direction, the length from the wall surface to the front end of the flush toilet, known as the projection, becomes large. If the projection is reduced on the toilet main body side, the bowl surface becomes smaller, which may limit ease of use for users and flushing ability.
One aspect of this embodiment was made in consideration of the above-mentioned conventional situation, and aims to provide the aforementioned small, fire-resistant flush toilet.
The flush toilet according to one embodiment comprises a toilet body having a bowl surface for receiving waste and a drain trap pipe extending from the bottom of the bowl, a drain socket arranged downstream of the drain trap pipe and connecting the drain trap pipe to the drain pipe, and a shielding member made of a non-combustible material attached to the drain pipe, the drain socket having an insertion tube that connects to the drain pipe, the toilet body having an opening at the rear of the toilet body and a base for passing the drain pipe or the drain socket through, the shielding member having a shielding member body made of a non-combustible material that closes the opening of the toilet body formed by the base, a mounting hole for assembling the shielding member body to the drain pipe, and a first seal member made of a non-combustible material that is contained in the mounting hole and connects the drain pipe insertion tube and the shielding member body in a watertight manner, and the shielding member body is configured to be able to change the shape of the mounting hole.
With this configuration, when attaching the shielding member to the drain socket, the first seal member can be crushed with a pressure vector in a plane perpendicular to the ground, rather than being crushed in the front-to-back direction against the flush toilet. This makes it possible to reduce the length from the wall surface to the front end of the flush toilet.
The shielding member body is also configured so that it can be separated into two members, a first shielding member body and a second shielding member body, or the first shielding member and the second shielding member body are connected at one point and can be separated from each other.
The joint surfaces of the first shielding member body and the second shielding member body are flush with each other and are formed to pass through the center of the mounting hole when the shielding member is attached to the drain pipe.
This configuration makes it easier for the installer to apply force toward the center of the mounting hole when assembling the shielding member to the drain socket. This reduces the burden on the installer while allowing for proper sealing of the drain socket and shielding member and shortening the length from the wall surface to the front end of the flush toilet.
The shielding member further includes a second seal member for abutting the base portion and the shielding member, the second seal member being configured to be two members, a first second seal member and a second second seal member, the second seal member being arranged on the periphery of the shielding member body excluding the flat surface, and the joint surfaces of the first shielding member body and the second shielding member body, and the joint surfaces of the first second seal member and the second second seal member are flush with each other.
With this configuration, when the shielding member is joined, the periphery of the shielding member, excluding the flat portion, is covered with the second seal member, and it is possible to prevent the second seal member from popping out or bending. This allows the toilet body and the shielding member to be properly sealed.
The present invention makes it possible to provide the small, fire-resistant flush toilet mentioned above.
Below, an overview of the flush toilet 1 according to the first embodiment will be described with reference to the attached drawings. The toilet seat is located at the top of the toilet body 3 and is what the user sits on when using the flush toilet 1. The toilet seat can be opened and closed by rotating around the rear side as a fulcrum.
The lid, like the toilet seat, is placed on top of the toilet body 3 and covers the top surface of the toilet body 3, including the bowl portion 9, from above. Like the toilet seat, the lid can be opened and closed by rotating around the rear side as a fulcrum. When closed, the lid covers the top surface of the toilet body 3 from above and also covers the toilet seat from above.
The bowl portion 9 is a portion that receives waste and is formed in a concave shape. A rim portion 17 is formed on the upper edge of the bowl portion. The rim portion 17 has a rim water outlet 19 that discharges cleaning water. Cleansing water discharged from the rim water outlet 19 flows along the upper edge of the bowl portion 9, forming a swirling flow within the bowl portion 9. A water conduit (not shown) formed upstream is connected to the rim water outlet 19, and cleaning water is supplied from a cleaning water supply device (not shown) via the water conduit.
Next, the detailed structure of the shielding member 7 will be described with reference to Figure 2. Figure 2 is a perspective view of the shielding member 7 according to the first embodiment.
The shielding member 7 comprises a shielding member body 7b having a circular mounting hole 7a in the center. Furthermore, a hollow circular first seal member 7c is provided inside the mounting hole 7a, and a second seal member 7d is provided on the periphery of the shielding member body 7b, excluding the bottom surface, which connects to the base portion 11. The shielding member body 7b comprises a mounting portion 7e which connects to the drain socket 5 and extends forward from the shielding member body 7b. A screw hole 7j is provided near the tip of the mounting portion 7e. In addition, a protrusion 7f extending rearward is provided at the top end of the rear surface of the shielding member body 7b.
The shielding member body 7b has a generally arcuate shape that is convex upward when viewed from the rear and the front. The shielding member body 7b is also configured to be separable in the width direction into a first shielding member body 7b1 and a second shielding member body 7b2, with the center line in the width direction as the base end. The protrusion 7f is also configured to be separable. This configuration makes it easier for an installer to apply force toward the center of the mounting hole 7a when assembling the shielding member 7 to the drain socket 5. This reduces the installer's burden while enabling an appropriate seal between the drain socket 5 and the shielding member 7, and makes it possible to reduce the length from the wall surface to the front end of the flush toilet 1.
The shielding member body 7b is made of a fire-resistant metal iron plate such as stainless steel.
The second seal member 7d is configured to be separable in the width direction into a first second seal member 7d1 and a second second seal member 7d2, with the center line in the width direction as the base end, similar to the shielding member main body 7b. The first seal member 7c and the second seal member 7d are soft sponge-like seal materials with fire resistance, such as rock wool or glass wool.
Next, the detailed structure of the drain socket 5 will be described with reference to Figure 3. Figure 3 is a perspective view of the drain socket 5 and the drain pipe 15 according to the first embodiment.
The drain socket 5 comprises a water inlet 5a connected to the drain trap pipe 13, a bent portion 5b that changes the direction of the flushing water flowing in from the water inlet 5a to the rear, an insertion tube 5c whose upstream side is connected to the bent portion 5b and whose downstream side is connected to the drain pipe 15, and a base plate 5d for fixing the drain socket 5 to the ground.
The water inlet 5a is circularly opened so that flushing water can flow in from above, and the flow area becomes smaller toward the downstream side. The bent portion 5b opens upward on the upstream side, bends at a right angle midway through the flow path, and extends toward the rear. The bent portion 5b has a generally arcuate shape that is convex downward in side view at its lower end. The insertion tube 5c opens forward on the upstream side, and the flow path area becomes smaller toward the downstream side. The upstream side of the insertion tube 5c has a two-layer structure to improve fire resistance.
Next, the attachment of the drain socket 5 to the shielding member 7, and the attachment of the drain socket 5 to the drain pipe 15 will be described with reference to Figures 4 and 5. Figure 4 is a rear perspective view of the flush toilet 1 with a close-up of the vicinity of the shielding member 7 according to the first embodiment. Figure 5 is a side cross-sectional view of the flush toilet 1 according to the first embodiment.
First, the installation of the drain pipe 15 and the shielding member 7 will be described. The first seal member 7c and the separated second seal member 7d are installed on the separated shielding member main body 7b. In the installed state, the joint surfaces 7g of the separated shielding member main body 7b and the second seal member 7d that are joined to the shielding member 7 on one side are flush with each other.
Next, the separated shielding member 7 is assembled to the drain pipe 15. The drain pipe 15 is passed through the first sealing member 7c, and the first sealing member 7c is sandwiched between the first shielding member body 7b1 and the second shielding member body 7b2 so as to crush it. After confirming that the protrusion 7f is properly aligned, the hollow joining member 7h is passed through the protrusion 7f from behind to fix the first shielding member body 7b1 and the second shielding member body 7b2 together.
With this configuration, when the shielding member 7 is attached to the drain pipe 15, the separated shielding member main body 7b is attached so as to be joined, so that the first sealing member 7c can be crushed with a pressing vector in a plane perpendicular to the ground, rather than being crushed in the front-to-back direction against the flush toilet 1. This makes it possible to reduce the length from the wall surface to the front end of the flush toilet 1.
Furthermore, with this configuration, it is possible to cover the entire inner periphery of the mounting hole 7a with the first seal member, while preventing the first seal member 7c from popping out or bending. This makes it possible to properly seal the drain socket 5 and the shielding member 7, while reducing the length from the wall surface to the front end of the flush toilet 1.
Next, the drain socket 5 and the drain pipe 15 are connected, the screw hole 7j of the attachment part 7e of the drain socket 5 is aligned with the hole (not shown) in the base plate 5d, and a screw (not shown) is inserted from above to secure them in place. Connecting the drain socket 5 and the drain pipe 15 enables the flush toilet 1 to be drained.
The drain pipe 15 and drain socket 5 are provided with fire resistance because they are connected within the space covered by the flush toilet 1 and the shielding member 7. Furthermore, fire resistance can be improved by easily adjusting the height of the drain pipe 15 and the depth in the front-to-back direction.
Next, the toilet body 3 is pressed down from above to crush and seal the second sealing member 7d of the shielding member 7, while connecting the drain trap pipe 13 and the drain socket 5, thereby enabling communication of the drainage path from the drain trap pipe 13 to the drain pipe 15.
With this configuration, when the shielding member 7 is joined, the periphery of the shielding member 7, excluding the flat portion 7i, is covered with the second seal member 7d, and it is possible to prevent the second seal member 7d from popping out or bending. This allows the toilet body 3 and the shielding member 7 to be appropriately sealed.
Next, we will provide an overview of the flush toilet 1 according to the second embodiment.
The flush toilet according to the second embodiment (not shown) differs from the flush toilet 1 according to the first embodiment in the structure of the shielding member (not shown), and therefore in the method of attachment to the drain pipe (not shown).
The shielding member according to the second embodiment has a rotatable hinge (not shown) at the upper end of the shielding member body (not shown), and the first shielding member body (not shown) and the second shielding member body (not shown) are not completely separated, but are connected to each other so that they can move away from and towards each other starting from the hinge.
When attaching the shielding member to the drain pipe, the drain pipe is passed through the first seal member (not shown), the first shielding member body and the second shielding member body are brought close to each other starting from the hinge so as to crush the first seal member, and the first shielding member body and the second shielding member body are joined together. After confirming that the protrusions (not shown) of the shielding member body are properly aligned, a hollow joining member (not shown) is passed through the protrusions from behind to fix the first shielding member and the second shielding member together.
With this configuration, when the shielding member is attached to the drain pipe 15, the separated shielding member body is attached so as to be joined, so that the first seal member is not crushed in the front-to-back direction against the flush toilet, but rather the first seal member can be crushed with a pressure vector in a plane perpendicular to the ground. This makes it possible to reduce the length from the wall surface to the front end of the flush toilet.
