Description

The present invention relates to a disposable dust mask.

Patent Document 1 discloses a disposable dust mask which has a shape-retaining, bowl-shaped mask body which, when viewed from the front from the protruding surface side, has a left-right symmetrical shape with gently downwardly sloping upper left and right edges and arc-shaped left and right side edges and lower left and right edges, and which further has a pair of left and right tightening strings when viewed from the front to fit the mask body on a user's head, one end of the tightening strings being attached to a lower part of a side edge of the mask body and the other end of the tightening strings being attached to an upper part of the side edge of the mask body.
When using the disposable dust mask of Patent Document 1, the left and right tightening strings are pulled around to the back of the user's head and connected using a connector. The lower extensions of the left and right tightening strings extend approximately horizontally below the left and right ears, and the upper extensions of the left and right tightening strings abut against the upper edges of the bases of the left and right ears of the user, extending in a mountain shape with the abutment parts as apexes.

The disposable dust mask of Patent Document 1 has a problem in that the other end of the tightening string is attached to the mask body at a low position, so that the inclination of the mountain shape of the upper extension part of the tightening string becomes large, and the tightening string hits the upper edge of the base of the ear hard, causing ear pain.
The present invention has been made in consideration of the above problems, and aims to provide a disposable dust mask that includes a shape-retaining, bowl-shaped mask body and a pair of left and right tightening strings for attaching the mask body to the user's head, where the tightening strings do not press hard against the upper edges of the bases of the ears during use, so that the user does not feel pain in the ears.

In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a disposable dust mask comprising a shape-retaining, cup-shaped mask body and a pair of left and right tightening strings for attaching the mask body to the head of a user, one end of the tightening string is attached to a lower part of a side edge of the protruding surface of the mask body via an attachment member, the other end of the tightening string is attached to a side part of the upper edge of the protruding surface of the mask body via the attachment member, and the tightening strings engage with the attachment member in such a manner that, at the lower part of the side edge, the tip part engaged with the attachment member is farther away from the protruding surface of the mask body than the remaining part, and, at the side part of the upper edge, the tip part engaged with the attachment member is closer to the protruding surface of the mask body than the remaining part.
In the disposable dust mask according to the present invention, the other ends of the left and right tightening strings are attached to the sides of the upper edge of the protruding surface of the mask body, and since the attachment position is higher than that of the disposable dust mask of Patent Document 1, the inclination of the tightening strings that extend in a mountain shape and abut against the upper edges of the bases of the left and right ears is gentler, so the tightening strings do not press hard against the upper edges of the bases of the ears and do not hurt the ears.
The side of the upper edge of the mask body is closer to the user's eyes. In order to facilitate the adjustment of the length of the tightening string, it is preferable that the tip of the tightening string engaged with the mounting member at the lower part of the side edge is farther away from the mask body protruding surface than the remaining part, so that it is easier to grasp with the hand. On the other hand, since it is not necessary to adjust the length of the tightening string at the side of the upper edge, it is not necessary to make the tip of the tightening string engaged with the mounting member farther away from the mask body protruding surface than the remaining part. Furthermore, if the tip of the tightening string engaged with the mounting member at the side of the upper edge, which is closer to the user's eyes, is farther away from the mask body protruding surface than the remaining part, the tip protruding outward from the mask body protruding surface may obstruct the user's vision or come into contact with the user's eyes. Therefore, it is preferable that the tip of the tightening string engaged with the mounting member at the side of the upper edge is closer to the mask body protruding surface than the remaining part. If the length of the tip of the tightening string engaged with the mounting member is made shorter, the tip of the tightening string is sandwiched between the mounting member and the mask body protruding surface and comes into close contact with the mask body protruding surface.

A disposable dust mask according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described.
As shown in Fig. 1, the disposable dust mask 1 comprises a shape-retaining, bowl-shaped mask body 2 and an annular face cloth 2' extending radially inward from the peripheral edge of the mask body. The mask body 2 has a symmetrical shape with gently downwardly sloping straight upper left and right edges 2a, and arc-shaped left and right side edges 2b and left and right lower edges 2c when viewed from the front from the projecting surface side.
The disposable dust mask 1 further includes a pair of tightening strings 3 on the left and right sides in the front view in order to attach the mask body 2 to the head of the user. One end of the tightening strings 3 is attached near the lower part of the side edge 2b of the protruding surface of the mask body 2, and the other end is attached near the side of the upper edge 2a of the protruding surface of the mask body 2.
Both ends of the tightening string 3 are inserted into slits 4 a of an attachment member 4 fixed to the mask body 2 and attached to the attachment member 4 .
The tightening string 3 engages with the mounting member 4 in such a manner that, near the lower part of the side edge 2b of the protruding surface of the mask body 2, the tip portion 3a engaged with the mounting member 4 is farther away from the protruding surface of the mask body 2 than the remaining portion 3b, and near the side of the upper edge 2a of the protruding surface of the mask body 2, the tip portion 3a engaged with the mounting member 4 is closer to the protruding surface of the mask body 2 than the remaining portion 3b.
A connector 5 is attached to one of the tightening strings 3.
As shown in Fig. 2, when the disposable dust mask 1 is used, the left and right tightening strings 3 are pulled around the back of the user's head and connected by the connectors 5. The lower extensions of the left and right tightening strings 3 extend substantially horizontally below the left and right ears, and the upper extensions of the left and right tightening strings 3 abut against the upper edges of the bases of the left and right ears of the user, extending in a mountain shape with the abutting parts as apexes.

In the disposable dust mask 1, the other ends of the left and right tightening strings 3 are attached near the sides of the upper edge 2a of the protruding surface of the mask body 2, and since the attachment position is higher than that of the disposable dust mask of Patent Document 1, the inclination of the mountain shape of the upper extending parts of the tightening strings 3 that extend and abut against the upper edges of the bases of the left and right ears of the user is gentler, and the tightening strings 3 do not strongly abut against the upper edges of the bases of the ears, causing no pain to the ears.
As can be seen from Fig. 2(a), the side of the upper edge 2a of the mask body is close to the user's eyes. From the viewpoint of facilitating the length adjustment of the tightening string 3, it is desirable that the tip 3a of the tightening string 3 engaged with the attachment member 4 at the lower part of the side edge 2b is farther away from the protruding surface of the mask body 2 than the remaining part 3b, so that it is easy to grasp with the hand. On the other hand, since it is not necessary to adjust the length of the tightening string 3 at the side of the upper edge 2a, it is not necessary to make the tip 3a of the tightening string 3 engaged with the attachment member 4 farther away from the protruding surface of the mask body 2 than the remaining part 3b. Also, if the tip 3a of the tightening string 3 engaged with the attachment member 4 is farther away from the protruding surface of the mask body 2 than the remaining part 3b at the side of the upper edge 2a close to the user's eyes, the tip 3a protruding outward from the protruding surface of the mask body 2 may obstruct the user's vision or come into contact with the user's eyes. Therefore, it is desirable that the tip 3a of the tightening string 3 engaged with the attachment member 4 at the side of the upper edge 2a be closer to the protruding surface of the mask body 2 than the remaining part 3b. If the length of the tip 3a of the tightening string 3 engaged with the attachment member 4 is made short, the tip 3a of the tightening string will be sandwiched between the attachment member 4 and the protruding surface of the mask body 2 and will be in close contact with the protruding surface of the mask body 2.

The present invention can be widely used for disposable dust masks that have a shape-retaining, cup-shaped mask body and a pair of left and right tightening strings for attaching the mask body to the user's head.

Claims (1)

A disposable dust mask comprising a shape-retaining, cup-shaped mask body and a pair of left and right tightening strings for attaching the mask body to the user's head, one end of the tightening string is attached to the lower part of the side edge of the mask body protruding surface via an attachment member, and the other end of the tightening string is attached to the side of the upper edge of the mask body protruding surface via an attachment member, and the tightening string engages with the attachment member in such a manner that, at the lower part of the side edge, the tip part engaged with the attachment member is farther away from the mask body protruding surface than the remaining part, and, at the side of the upper edge, the tip part engaged with the attachment member is closer to the mask body protruding surface than the remaining part.
