Description
把持判定部11は、把持センサ21によって検出された静電容量の検出値を取得し、該検出値に基づき、ステアリングホイール2が把持状態であるか、非把持状態であるかを判定する。ここで、把持状態は運転者がステアリングホイール2を握っている状態であり、非把持状態は運転者がステアリングホイール2を握らず、手放しの状態である。
把持判定部11による前記把持判定の結果は、通信部13を介して、前記運転支援ECUなどに送信される。
以下では、リム部10が円環形状である場合を例に挙げて説明するがこれに限定されるものではない。リム部10は非円形(例えば、D字形状、C字形状)であっても良い。
よって、運転者がタッチパッド20を操作している間は、把持センサ21による静電容量検知が行われず、無効になる。従って、把持センサ21の電極2aと、タッチパッド20の電極とが運転者の手を介して電気的に接触されることによって、正常な静電容量の測定ができなくなる問題を事前に防止できる。

Claims (7)
- 静電容量を用いて操作可能なタッチパッド(20)及び運転者がリム部(10)を把持しているかどうかを検知する把持センサ(21)を有するステアリングホイール(2)と、
前記タッチパッド(20)が操作されているかどうかの操作判定を行う操作判定部(12)と、
前記ステアリングホイール(2)の前記リム部(10)が把持されているかどうかの把持判定を行う把持判定部(11)とを備え、
前記操作判定部(12)は、前記タッチパッド(20)が操作されていると判定した場合、前記把持判定部(11)に第1操作判定信号を送信し、
前記第1操作判定信号が受信された場合、前記把持判定部(11)は前記把持判定を中断する乗員状態検知装置(100)。 - 前記タッチパッド(20)は、前記ステアリングホイール(2)の中央部分からスポーク部(3)の領域に設けられることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の乗員状態検知装置(100)。
- 前記把持判定部(11)は、前記ステアリングホイール(2)に設けられることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の乗員状態検知装置(100)。
- 前記操作判定部(12)は、前記ステアリングホイール(2)に設けられることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の乗員状態検知装置(100)。
- 前記操作判定部(12)は、前記第1操作判定信号の送信後に、前記タッチパッド(20)が操作されていないと判定した場合、前記把持判定部(11)に第2操作判定信号を送信し、
前記第2操作判定信号が受信された場合、前記把持判定部(11)は前記把持判定を再開する請求項1に記載の乗員状態検知装置(100)。 - 前記第1操作判定信号が受信された場合、前記把持判定部(11)は、前記リム部(10)が把持されていると判定する請求項1又は5に記載の乗員状態検知装置(100)。
- 前記把持判定部(11)及び前記操作判定部(12)は、前記ステアリングホイール(2)に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載の乗員状態検知装置(100)。
