Description
図1は、本実施形態に係る磁気記録媒体の構成の一例を示す断面図である。図1に示すように、磁気記録媒体1は、基板10と、下地層20と、L10構造を有する合金を含む磁性層30を、基板10側からこの順に積層して備える。
本実施形態に係る磁気記録媒体の製造方法は、MgO下地層(第1の下地層)の形成工程と、磁性層の形成工程とを含み、第2の下地層の形成工程、保護層の形成工程、潤滑剤層の形成工程等の他の構成を含んでもよい。
本実施形態に係る磁気記録媒体を用いた磁気記憶装置について説明する。本実施形態に係る磁気記憶装置は、本実施形態に係る磁気記録媒体を有すれば、形態は特に限定されない。なお、ここでは、磁気記憶装置が熱アシスト記録方式を用いて磁気情報を磁気記録媒体に記録する場合について説明する。
[磁気記録媒体の製造]
以下の方法により、磁気記録媒体を製造した。
X線回折装置(Philips製)を用いて、第2の磁性層を成膜した後の基板のX線回折スペクトルを測定し、FePt合金の(200)ピークの半値幅を求めた。
実施例1において、MgO下地層の成膜時のMgOターゲットの加熱温度を表1の温度に変更したこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして行った。FePt合金の(200)ピークの半値幅の評価結果と、各実施例及び比較例において同じ条件で磁気記録媒体を1000枚製造した時の収率を表1に示す。

Claims (3)
- 基板の表面に、酸化マグネシウムを含むターゲットを用いて、スパッタ法により、酸化マグネシウム下地層を形成する工程と、
前記酸化マグネシウム下地層の表面側に、磁性層を形成する工程と、
を含み、
前記酸化マグネシウム下地層を形成する際、前記酸化マグネシウムを含むターゲットを600℃以上に加熱する磁気記録媒体の製造方法。 - 前記酸化マグネシウムを含むターゲットは、800℃以上に加熱する請求項1に記載の磁気記録媒体の製造方法。
- 前記磁性層は、L10構造を有するFePt合金及びCoPt合金の少なくとも一方を含む請求項1又は2に記載の磁気記録媒体の製造方法。
