Description

This disclosure relates to building materials.

Conventionally, there is known a fitting in which the upper and lower parts of a shoji screen are stored and supported in a Kendon-style manner in rail grooves provided in the upper and lower frames, and the screen is not supported by the left and right vertical frames (see, for example, Patent Document 1). In this fitting, a stopper member that protrudes into the rail groove of the lower frame is provided on the fixed part of the handle of the lower rail of the shoji screen to prevent the screen screen from coming off the lower frame when it is lifted upward by the vertical shaking of an earthquake.

The inventor further investigated other reasons why the screen may come off the frame, other than when it comes off the bottom frame due to vertical shaking caused by an earthquake. As a result, it was found that when the bottom frame is bent due to poor construction of the frame, the screen may move downward, releasing the engagement between the screen and the top frame, causing the screen to come off the frame.

Furthermore, direct sunlight that hits fittings from outside the room generally penetrates mostly around the lower part of the fittings, which can cause thermal deformation that causes the bottom rail of the shoji screen to shrink in the viewing direction. Also, when the heat of direct sunlight softens the bottom rail, the weight of the glass and other surface materials contained in the shoji screen can cause the bottom rail to bend, deforming the screen and reducing its vertical dimension. When the vertical dimension of the shoji screen decreases, the position of the top rail of the screen drops, changing the engagement between the screen and the frame, which can cause the screen to wobble or come off the frame.

The inventor therefore discovered the problem of how to prevent the screen from coming off the frame by maintaining the engagement between the screen and the upper frame not only when the screen moves upwards, but also when the screen moves downwards or the position of the upper rail of the screen drops.

The fittings disclosed herein are fittings that include a frame body having an upper frame, a lower frame, and left and right vertical frames, with grooves in the upper and lower frames, a screen that has a facing on the inside of a frame body having an upper stile, a lower stile, and left and right vertical frames, and is held in the upper and lower frames by inserting the upper and lower ends into the grooves, respectively, and a removal prevention member that is provided on the frame body and prevents the screen from coming off the frame body, the removal prevention member having a locking piece that is located on the outside of the screen and is provided so as to be able to be locked to the frame body, and an operating member that rotates the locking piece between an engaged position and an unlocked position.

Each embodiment of the fixture of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings. The fixture in the embodiment is a fixed window 1. The fixed window 1 is a so-called fixed window, and is attached to the inside of a frame 101 that is provided along the inner periphery of a rectangular opening 100 in the building frame. The fixed window 1 does not open or close the opening 100 except when the shoji screen 3 is removed for cleaning, etc.

Figure 1 is a front view of a fixed window 1 as seen from the indoor side. In the figures shown below, the X1 direction indicates the outdoor side of the fixed window 1, and the X2 direction indicates the indoor side of the fixed window 1. Another window (not shown), such as a fixed window or a sliding window, may be attached inside the frame 101 on the outdoor side of the fixed window 1. This creates a double window on the inside of the frame 101, further improving heat insulation and soundproofing. The fixed window 1 of this embodiment can be retrofitted to the indoor side of an existing window (not shown).

The fixed window 1 has a frame 2 provided inside the frame 101, a screen 3 placed inside the frame 2, and a retaining member 4. The frame 2 is formed by framing an upper frame 21, a lower frame 22, and left and right vertical frames 23, 23 in a rectangular shape. The screen 3 is removably fitted inside the frame 2. The retaining member 4 is a member that prevents the screen 3 from coming off the frame 2.

The upper frame 21 of the frame body 2 is extruded as a single unit from a resin material. The upper frame 21 has a first hollow section 211 having a rectangular cross-sectional hollow structure arranged on the outdoor side, a second hollow section 212 having a rectangular cross-sectional hollow structure arranged on the indoor side, and a flat base section 213 connecting the upper ends of the first hollow section 211 and the second hollow section 212. The first hollow section 211, the second hollow section 212, and the base section 213 extend over the entire length of the upper frame 21 in the extension direction. The first hollow section 211 and the second hollow section 212 protrude downward from the base section 213 at the same height.

The first hollow portion 211 and the second hollow portion 212 are arranged parallel to each other and spaced apart in the indoor/outdoor direction. As a result, a groove portion 214 is formed between the first hollow portion 211, the second hollow portion 212, and the base portion 213, spanning the entire length of the upper frame 21 in the extension direction. The groove portion 214 is open downward and accommodates the upper end of the shoji screen 3. The base portion 213 forms the inner bottom surface of the groove portion 214.

The lower end of the first hollow portion 211 is provided with a sealing portion 215 that protrudes toward the inside of the room and elastically contacts the outside surface of the shoji screen 3. The lower end of the second hollow portion 212 is provided with a fin portion 216 that protrudes toward the outside of the room and elastically contacts the inside surface of the shoji screen 3. The upper frame 21 is fixed to the upper inner surface of the frame 101 by screws (not shown) that pass through the base portion 213.

The lower frame 22 of the frame body 2 is extruded integrally from a resin material. The lower frame 22 has a first hollow section 221 having a rectangular cross-sectional hollow structure arranged on the outdoor side, a second hollow section 222 having a rectangular cross-sectional hollow structure arranged on the indoor side, and a flat base section 223 connecting the lower ends of the first hollow section 221 and the second hollow section 222. The first hollow section 221, the second hollow section 222, and the base section 223 extend over the entire length of the extension direction of the lower frame 22. In this embodiment, the first hollow section 221 and the second hollow section 222 protrude upward from the base section 223 at the same height, but they do not necessarily have to protrude at the same height.

The first hollow portion 221 and the second hollow portion 222 are arranged parallel to each other and spaced apart in the indoor/outdoor direction. As a result, a groove portion 224 is formed between the first hollow portion 221, the second hollow portion 222, and the base portion 223, which extends over the entire length of the extension direction of the lower frame 22, similar to the upper frame 21. The groove portion 224 opens upward and accommodates the lower end of the shoji screen 3. The base portion 223 forms the inner bottom surface of the groove portion 224.

A sealing portion 225 is integrally formed at the upper end of the first hollow portion 221, protruding toward the inside of the room and elastically contacting the outside surface of the shoji screen 3. A fin portion 226 is integrally formed at the upper end of the second hollow portion 222, protruding toward the outside of the room and elastically contacting the inside surface of the shoji screen 3. The lower frame 22 is fixed to the lower inner surface of the frame 101 by screws (not shown) that pass through the base portion 223.

As shown in FIG. 2, inside the groove 224 of the lower frame 22, a plurality of resin liners 227 that support the lower end of the shoji screen 3 are provided at a predetermined interval. The liners 227 are formed in a block shape and have a height slightly lower than the height of the first hollow portion 221 and the second hollow portion 222 of the lower frame 22. Therefore, the lower end surface of the shoji screen 3 housed in the groove 224 of the lower frame 22 is placed on the upper surface of the liners 227, and is positioned slightly lower than the upper end surfaces of the first hollow portion 221 and the second hollow portion 222 of the lower frame 22.

The vertical frames 23, 23 of the frame body 2 are each extruded integrally from a resin material into a substantially L-shape. The vertical frames 23, 23 extend vertically between the upper frame 21 and the lower frame 22. The vertical frames 23, 23 have a base portion 231, 231 extending at a predetermined width along the vertical direction of the frame 101, an exterior wall portion 232, 232 extending from the exterior end of the base portion 231, 231 toward the inside of the frame 101 at a substantially right angle, abutment pieces 233, 233 extending from the interior end of the exterior wall portion 232, 232 toward the interior at a substantially right angle, and a locking wall portion 234, 234 extending outward from the interior end of the abutment piece portion 233, 233 toward the base portion 231, 231.

The abutment pieces 233, 233 are formed narrower than the base plate parts 231, 241 so as to contact the exterior surface of the shoji screen 3. The locking wall parts 234, 234 extend approximately parallel to the exterior wall parts 232, 232. The locking wall parts 234, 234 are arranged at a predetermined distance between them and the base plate parts 231, 231. A locking groove 235 capable of accommodating the locking piece 41 of the anti-detachment member 4 described below is formed between the exterior wall parts 232, 232 and the locking wall parts 234, 234.

The ends of the abutment pieces 233, 233 are integrally provided with sealing parts 236, 236 that elastically contact the exterior surface of the shoji screen 3. The vertical frames 23, 23 are fixed to the inner surfaces of the left and right sides of the frame 101 by screws (not shown) that penetrate the base plates 231, 231.

The shoji screen 3 is constructed by fitting a surface material 34 such as glass through a glazing channel 341 inside a frame body 30 made of an upper rail 31, a lower rail 32, and left and right vertical rails 33, 33 assembled into a rectangular shape. The surface material may be double-glazed glass made of two pieces of glass. In the case of double-glazed glass, it is held in place by a retaining member made of soft PVC attached to the frame body.

As shown in Figure 2, the upper and lower rails 31 and 32 are each composed of a metal core 311, 321, a resin cover 312, 322 that covers the exterior and interior sides of the metal core 311, 321, and a resin upper end cover 313 and a resin lower end cover 323 that are attached to the upper and lower end faces of the resin cover 312, 322. As shown in Figures 3 and 5, the vertical frames 33 and 33 are each composed of a metal core 331, 331, a resin cover 332, 332 that covers the exterior of the metal core 311, 321, and an end cover 333 (see Figures 7 and 8) that covers both the upper and lower end faces of the vertical frames 33 and 33.

As shown in FIG. 1, the shoji screen 3 has a vertically-hung structure in which an upper rail 31 and a lower rail 32 are arranged between left and right vertical frames 33. More specifically, the left and right vertical frames 33 extend over the entire length of the shoji screen 3 in the vertical direction. The upper rail 31 and the lower rail 32 are arranged between the left and right vertical frames 33, and connect the upper ends and lower ends of the vertical frames 33, respectively. The end cover materials 333 on both the upper and lower end faces of the vertical frames 33 are arranged flush with the upper end cover material 313 of the upper rail 31 and the lower end cover material 323 of the lower rail 32. A roughly U-shaped handle 35 is attached to the center of the interior-facing surface of the lower rail 32.

The anti-detachment member 4 is provided at a position near the upper end of one of the vertical frames 33 of the shoji screen 3. As shown in FIG. 4, the anti-detachment member 4 has a locking piece 41 and an operating member 42 that rotates the locking piece 41. The anti-detachment member 4 prevents the shoji screen 3 from being removed from the frame body 2 by locking the locking piece 41 to the frame body 2. FIGS. 3 and 4 show the state in which the locking piece 41 is located in the locking position relative to the frame body 2.

The locking piece 41 is made of a rectangular plate-like piece that is long in one direction, and is arranged in the vertical frame 23 of the frame body 2 so that it can be accommodated in the locking groove 235 arranged on the outside of the shoji screen 3. The locking piece 41 is arranged so that it can be locked to the vertical frame 23 of the frame body 2 on the outside of the shoji screen 3. As shown in Figures 3 and 4, one end of the locking piece 41 in the length direction is inserted into the locking groove 235 of the vertical frame 23, so that the locking piece 41 is arranged in an locking position relative to the vertical frame 23. In the locking position, the length direction of the locking piece 41 extends inward of the frame body 2 and is arranged approximately parallel to the exterior wall portion 232 of the vertical frame 23.

The operating member 42 is a cylindrical rod-shaped body that is disposed so as to penetrate the vertical frame 33 of the shoji screen 3 in the indoor/outdoor direction. The operating member 42 can rotate about its axis relative to the vertical frame 33. As shown in FIG. 5, the operating member 42 rotates about its axis to move the locking piece 41, which is connected to the outside of the room, between an locking position 41a where the locking piece 41 is inserted into the locking groove 235 of the vertical frame 23, and an unlocking position 41b where the locking piece 41 is retracted from the locking groove 235.

The outside end of the operating member 42 is connected at a right angle to the other end of the locking piece 41 in the length direction. The inside end of the operating member 42 is rotatably supported by a support plate 43 attached to the metal core material 331 of the vertical frame 33 and a sliding bearing 44 attached to the inner surface of the inside of the resin cover material 332. The inside end of the operating member 42 penetrates the resin cover material 332 of the vertical frame 33 and is exposed to the inside surface 33a of the vertical frame 33 so that it can be rotated from the inside of the room. In detail, the inside end of the operating member 42 is arranged so as to be lower than the upper frame 21 when the shoji screen 3 is attached to the frame body 2, as shown in FIG. 1, and is exposed to the inside surface 33a of the vertical frame 33. Therefore, the locking piece 41 can be easily rotated to the locking position 41a and the unlocking position 41b from the inside of the shoji screen 3.

The plain bearing 44 is made of rubber, resin or metal, and is in contact with the outer circumferential surface of the operating member 42, rotatably supporting the operating member 42 with appropriate friction. When the locking piece 41 is placed in the locking position 41a and the unlocking position 41b, the position of the operating member 42 around the axis is maintained by the friction of the plain bearing 44. Therefore, the locking piece 41 does not rotate under its own weight.

Next, a method of inserting the shoji 3 into the frame 2 using the Kendon method will be described. As shown in FIG. 6, the shoji 3 is inserted from the inside of the room into the groove 214 of the upper frame 21 and the groove 224 of the lower frame 22 using the Kendon method. That is, first, with the upper end side of the shoji 3 tilted toward the outside of the room, the upper end of the shoji 3 is inserted deep into the groove 214 of the upper frame 21. After inserting the shoji 3, the lower end side of the shoji 3 is moved toward the outside of the room and aligned with the groove 224 of the lower frame 22. Then, the shoji 3 is lowered and the lower end of the shoji 3 is inserted into the groove 224 of the lower frame 22. As a result, the upper and lower ends of the shoji 3 are accommodated in the grooves 214 and 224, respectively, and the shoji 3 is fitted and held in the upper frame 21 and the lower frame 22. At this time, the locking piece 41 of the anti-detachment member 4 is positioned in the unlocked position 41b with the tip facing downward, as shown in FIG. 5.

When the shoji screen 3 is held by the upper frame 21 and the lower frame 22, the vertical frames 23, 23 abut the sealing portions 236, 236 against the vertical frames 33, 33 of the shoji screen 3 from the outside of the room, regulating the position of the outside of the room of the shoji screen 3. The vertical frames 23, 23 only abut the sealing portions 236, 236 against the outside surface of the shoji screen 3, and do not hold the shoji screen 3. The sealing portions 215 and fin portions 216 of the upper frame 21 abut against the upper end of the shoji screen 3 from the outside and inside of the room, respectively, ensuring airtightness, preventing rattling of the upper end of the shoji screen 3, and preventing the intrusion of debris and the like from outside. The sealing portion 225 and fin portion 226 of the lower frame 22 abut against the lower end of the shoji screen 3 from the outside and inside of the room, respectively, ensuring airtightness, preventing the lower end of the shoji screen 3 from rattling, and preventing the intrusion of debris and other foreign matter from outside.

After the shoji screen 3 is attached to the frame 2, the operating member 42 of the anti-detachment member 4 is rotated 90° from the inside of the room to position the tip of the locking piece 41 at the locking position 41a facing inward. As a result, the tip of the locking piece 41 is accommodated in the locking groove 235 of the vertical frame 23 and locked to the vertical frame 23, as shown in Figure 4. In this state, the movement of the shoji screen 3 inside the room is restricted by the interference between the locking piece 41 and the locking wall portion 234 of the vertical frame 23. Therefore, not only when the shoji screen 3 moves upward, but also when it moves downward or the position of the upper rail 31 of the shoji screen 3 drops, the engagement state between the shoji screen 3 and the frame 2 can be maintained, and the shoji screen 3 can be prevented from coming off the frame 2.

The locking piece 41 is provided so that it can be locked to the vertical frame 23. Therefore, simply by providing at least one anti-detachment member 4 on the frame 30 of the shoji screen 3, the movement of the shoji screen 3 toward the interior of the room can be restricted regardless of whether the shoji screen 3 moves up or down. This effectively prevents the shoji screen 3 from coming off the frame 2.

The end of the operating member 42 facing the interior may have a mark that allows confirmation as to whether the locking piece 41 is located at the locking position 41a or the unlocking position 41b. For example, in Figs. 7 and 8, a flathead groove 421 is provided at the end of the operating member 42 facing the interior for rotation with a flathead screwdriver. By aligning the length of the flathead groove 421 with the length of the locking piece 41, it is easy to confirm whether the locking piece 41 is located at the locking position 41a (Fig. 7) or the unlocking position 41b (Fig. 8) simply by visually checking the flathead groove 421 of the operating member 42 from the interior side of the shoji screen 3.

The mark provided on the end of the operating member 42 on the interior side is not limited to the minus groove 421. Although not shown, the mark may be a lever provided on the end of the operating member 42 on the interior side, a knob extending in one direction, etc. By arranging the lever and knob on the interior side surface 33a of the vertical frame 33, it is possible to easily confirm whether the locking piece 41 is located in the locking position 41a or the unlocking position 41b by visually checking the angle at which the lever and knob are located.

The anti-slip member 4 is positioned near the upper end of the vertical frame 33, but the anti-slip member 4 may be positioned, for example, near the center of the vertical frame 33 in the up-down direction, or near the lower end of the vertical frame 33. The anti-slip member 4 may be positioned respectively near the upper end and the lower end of the vertical frame 33. The anti-slip member 4 may be positioned on each of the left and right vertical frames 33, 33.

The anti-slip member 4 may be provided on the frame 30 of the shoji screen 3, and is not limited to being provided on the vertical frame 33. The anti-slip member 4 may be provided on at least one of the upper rail 31 and the lower rail 32.

The fixed window 1, which is a fixture shown in the above embodiment, has the following effects. That is, the fixed window 1 has a frame body 2 having an upper frame 21, a lower frame 22, and left and right vertical frames 23, 23, and has grooves 214, 224 in the upper frame 21 and the lower frame 22, respectively, a frame body 30 having an upper rail 31, a lower rail 32, and left and right vertical rails 33, 33, and has a face material 34 on the inside, and is held in the upper frame 21 and the lower frame 22 by inserting the upper end and lower end into the grooves 214, 224, respectively, and a removal prevention member 4 provided on the frame body 30 to prevent the shoji 3 from coming off the frame body 2. The removal prevention member 4 has a locking piece 41 arranged on the outside of the shoji 3 and provided so as to be able to be locked to the frame body 2, and an operating member 42 that rotates and moves the locking piece 41 to the locking position 41a and the unlocking position 41b. This allows the screen 3 to maintain its engagement with the frame 2 not only when it moves upward, but also when it moves downward or when the position of the upper rail 31 of the screen 3 drops, preventing the screen 3 from coming off the frame 2.

The outside end of the operating member 42 is connected to the locking piece 41, and the inside end of the operating member 42 is arranged so that it can be rotated from the inside of the shoji screen 3, penetrating the shoji screen 3. This allows the locking piece 41 to be easily rotated to the locking position 41a and the unlocking position 41b from the inside of the shoji screen 3.

The operating member 42 is rotatably supported on the frame 30 by a plain bearing 44 that can maintain its axial position. With this, the axial position of the operating member 42 when the locking piece 41 is placed in the locking position 41a and the unlocking position 41b is maintained by the friction of the plain bearing 44. Therefore, the locking piece 41 does not rotate due to its own weight.

The end of the operating member 42 on the indoor side has a minus groove 421 that serves as a marker that allows one to confirm whether the locking piece 41 is located in the locking position 41a or the unlocking position 41b. This makes it easy to confirm whether the locking piece 41 is located in the locking position 41a or the unlocking position 41b simply by visually checking the minus groove 421 of the operating member 42 from the indoor side of the shoji screen 3.

The locking piece 41 is provided so that it can be locked to the vertical frame 23. With this, by simply providing at least one anti-detachment member 4 on the shoji screen 3, the movement of the shoji screen 3 toward the interior of the room can be restricted regardless of whether the shoji screen 3 moves up or down. This effectively prevents the shoji screen 3 from coming off the frame body 2.
