Description

This invention relates to architectural louvers that are attached so as to protrude from the wall or ceiling surface of a building structure.

Patent Document 1 discloses an architectural louver that includes a support member fixed directly to the wall structure of a building and a louver material made of an extruded material. In this invention, architectural louvers can be easily installed by attaching the louver material, which has a roughly U-shaped cross section, over the support member that has been fixed to the wall structure in advance. The document also discloses that if it is desired to change the color of the louver to enhance its design, a decorative sheet (e.g., a sheet with a wood grain pattern) may be attached to the surface of the louver material.

However, with the conventional louvers described above, it was time-consuming and required skill to make each decorative surface (front and side) of the louver a different color or pattern. For example, when attaching different decorative sheets to each decorative surface of a louver, the decorative sheets had to be attached so as not to spill over the corner boundaries and so as not to leave gaps, which required skill and effort. Also, when painting each decorative surface in a different color or pattern, it was necessary to protect the corner boundaries with masking tape or the like before starting work to prevent the paint from spilling over, which made work difficult and took time.

Therefore, the objective of the present invention is to provide architectural louvers that can be easily and quickly installed even when it is desired to make each decorative surface (front and side) of the louver a different color or pattern.

In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides an architectural louver that is attached so as to protrude from a wall or ceiling surface of a building frame, and that includes a second louver material having a pair of side wall portions when the architectural louver protrudes forward, and a first louver material that is fixed to the inside of the pair of side wall portions of the second louver material, with the front surface of the first louver material forming the decorative front surface of the architectural louver, and the pair of side wall portions of the second louver material forming the decorative side surface of the architectural louver.

As described above, the present invention configures the decorative front surface of the architectural louver with the front surface of the first louver material, and the decorative side surface of the architectural louver with the pair of side walls of the second louver material. In other words, the decorative front surface and the decorative side surface are configured with different materials. With this configuration, before combining the first louver material with the second louver material, a decorative sheet can be attached to the decorative front surface and the decorative side surface separately, or anodized film treatment or painting can be performed. Therefore, even if it is desired to make each decorative surface (front surface and side surface) of the louver different colors or patterns, no special skills or significant effort are required, and the work can be done easily and in a short time.

In addition, the architectural louvers can be completed simply by combining the first and second louver materials, which have been separately colored and patterned, during construction, making assembly easy.

The following describes an embodiment of the present invention with reference to the drawings. In the following description, the protruding direction of the architectural louver 10 (the direction perpendicular to the construction surface; leftward in FIG. 2) is referred to as the front, and the opposite direction (rightward in FIG. 2) is referred to as the rear.

The architectural louver 10 according to this embodiment is a long member that is attached so as to protrude from the wall or ceiling surface of the building frame 50. For example, as shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, a plurality of architectural louvers 10 can be attached to the surface of the building frame 50 in parallel with each other. This architectural louver 10 is a hollow long member. The architectural louver 10 is formed in a rectangular prism shape and has four faces in the longitudinal direction. Of these, the rear face is in contact with the building frame 50 and is fixed to the building frame 50. The front face is the decorative front face 10a exposed to the outside. The remaining two side faces (longitudinal side faces) are decorative side faces 10b exposed to the outside. The short side face is the small end face of the architectural louver 10. Although not particularly shown, a cover or the like may be attached to this small end face. The decorative front face 10a and the decorative side face 10b are at right angles to each other and are continuous at the corner portion 10c. This architectural louver 10 has the following components: a first louver material 11 and a second louver material 20.

The first louver material 11 is a long metal material, for example an extruded aluminum material. This first louver material 11 has the same shape over its entire length, and is formed with the cross-sectional shape shown in Figure 3. This first louver material 11 has a roughly U-shaped cross section, and includes a front piece 12 on the front side and insertion pieces 13 extending rearward from both ends of the front piece 12.

The front surface 12a (surface) of the front piece 12 constitutes the decorative front surface 10a of the architectural louver 10. The front surface 12a in this embodiment is a flat surface without any irregularities. In addition, both ends of the front piece 12 are slightly protruding to the side, and abutment portions 12b are formed on the rear surfaces of these protruding portions. These abutment portions 12b are the portions that abut against the front ends 22a of the side wall portions 21, which will be described later. The abutment portions 12b are inclined surfaces that are inclined at approximately 45 degrees with respect to the front surface 12a, in other words, they are formed so as to form an acute angle of approximately 45 degrees with the front surface 12a.

The insertion piece 13 is a portion that is fixed to the inside of a pair of side wall portions 21, which will be described later. A pair of insertion pieces 13 are provided on the left and right sides, and protrude in a direction perpendicular to the front piece 12. The insertion piece 13 is formed so as to be continuous with the abutment portion 12b. The insertion piece 13 according to this embodiment is inserted between the pair of side wall portions 21 from the front, and is fixed by engaging with the second louver material 20.

A rib 14 extending in the longitudinal direction is formed on the outer surface 13a of the insert piece 13. The rib 14 is for engaging the engaging portion 22 described later. The rib 14 is formed to protrude laterally from the outer surface 13a of the insert piece 13, and has a vertical surface 14a, an engaging surface 14b, and a guide surface 14c. The vertical surface 14a is the front surface of the rib 14 and is a surface perpendicular to the outer surface 13a. The engaging surface 14b is a surface continuing from the end of the vertical surface 14a and is a surface parallel to the outer surface 13a. The guide surface 14c is a surface continuing from the end of the engaging surface 14b and is an inclined surface connecting the end of the engaging surface 14b and the outer surface 13a. In addition, an engaging groove 15 is recessed between the vertical surface 14a and the abutting portion 12b on the front side of the rib 14. This engagement groove 15 is a recess for fitting the protrusion 22c described below. By fitting the protrusion 22c into the engagement groove 15, the side wall portion 21 and the insertion piece 13 are fixed so that they do not fall off. In addition, a screw hole 16 is formed on the inner surface 13b of the insertion piece 13. This screw hole 16 can be used to attach a cover that covers the edge of the architectural louver 10.

The second louver material 20 is a long metal material, for example an extruded aluminum material. This second louver material 20 has the same shape over its entire length, and has a cross-sectional shape as shown in FIG. 3. This second louver material 20 has a roughly U-shaped cross section and includes a side wall portion 21 and an attachment portion 23.

The side wall portions 21 are formed so as to protrude forward from both ends of the mounting portion 23, and are formed in a pair on the left and right. The distance between the pair of side wall portions 21 is set to a width that allows the pair of insert pieces 13 of the first louver material 11 to be inserted. The pair of side wall portions 21 are configured so that the inner surfaces 21b engage with the pair of insert pieces 13 of the first louver material 11, and the outer surfaces 21a serve as decorative surfaces. In other words, the outer surfaces 21a in the longitudinal direction of the side wall portions 21 constitute the decorative side surfaces 10b of the architectural louver 10. The outer surfaces 21a in this embodiment are flat surfaces without any irregularities.

An engagement portion 22 is formed near the tip of the inside of the side wall portion 21. This engagement portion 22 is a portion for engaging with the first louver material 11, and is formed on the inner surface 21b of the side wall portion 21. This engagement portion 22 bulges inward from the inner surface 21b of the side wall portion 21, and has an abutment surface 22b parallel to the inner surface 21b. As shown in FIG. 4, this abutment surface 22b abuts against the engagement surface 14b of the first louver material 11 when the first louver material 11 and the second louver material 20 are combined. In addition, a protrusion 22c is formed protruding from this abutment surface 22b. When the first louver material 11 and the second louver material 20 are combined, this protrusion 22c enters the engagement groove 15 of the first louver material 11, and fits so that the first louver material 11 and the second louver material 20 do not easily fall off.

The front end 22a of the engagement portion 22 (i.e., the front end of the side wall portion 21) is an inclined surface that is inclined at approximately 45 degrees with respect to the outer surface 21a. In other words, the front end 22a is formed to form an acute angle of approximately 45 degrees with the outer surface 21a. The front end 22a of the engagement portion 22 abuts against the abutment portion 12b when the first louver material 11 and the second louver material 20 are combined.

The mounting portion 23 is a portion that is directly fixed to the construction surface of the skeleton 50. Although not particularly shown, the mounting portion 23 can be fixed to the construction surface with a bolt or the like. The construction surface referred to here may be any surface that is substantially the surface of the skeleton 50, and may be a wall surface or a ceiling surface. Also, a flat construction surface may be formed with a base material.
Next, a procedure for constructing the architectural louver 10 by combining the first louver material 11 and the second louver material 20 will be described.
First, the mounting portion 23 is fixed to the construction surface of the frame 50. As a result, the second louver material 20 is fixed to the frame 50, and the pair of side wall portions 21 are in a state of protruding forward.

Next, as shown in FIG. 3, the first louver material 11 is attached from the front. Specifically, the insertion piece 13 of the first louver material 11 is inserted between the side wall portions 21 of the second louver material 20. Note that in the process of inserting the first louver material 11, the protrusion 22c hits the ridge 14, but the first louver material 11 is pressed in as is. As a result, the protrusion 22c is guided by the guide surface 14c, and the insertion piece 13 and the side wall portion 21 are elastically deformed, causing the protrusion 22c to climb over the ridge 14.

When the first louver material 11 is inserted all the way, as shown in Figure 4, the protrusion 22c fits into the engagement groove 15. This prevents the first louver material 11 from easily falling off the second louver material 20. In addition, because the engagement surface 14b and the abutment surface 22b are in surface contact, the two are stably joined together without any wobbling. In addition, because the tip of the insertion piece 13 abuts against the inside of the mounting portion 23, the insertion piece 13 is prevented from going too far.

The abutment portion 12b and the front end 22a of the side wall portion 21 abut on an inclined surface. In other words, the corner portion 10c at the front end of the architectural louver 10 has a so-called "tome shape" in which the tip faces formed at approximately 45 degrees are joined together. This is done so that the decorative front surface 10a and the decorative side surface 10b can have different colors or patterns.

That is, as shown in FIG. 1, the architectural louver 10 according to this embodiment has a different color or pattern on the decorative front surface 10a and the decorative side surface 10b. Specifically, different decorative sheets 28 are attached to the decorative front surface 10a and the decorative side surface 10b.

Here, in the architectural louver 10 according to this embodiment, the first louver material 11 has a decorative front surface 10a, and the second louver material 20 has a decorative side surface 10b, so that it is easy to attach different decorative sheets 28 to the decorative front surface 10a and the decorative side surface 10b. The corner portion 10c is formed in a tome shape, that is, the boundary between the first louver material 11 and the second louver material 20 is set at the corner portion 10c, so that the boundary between the two is less noticeable. In other words, when the decorative front surface 10a is viewed from the front, the second louver material 20 is less visible, and when the decorative side surface 10b is viewed from the side, the first louver material 11 is less visible. In this way, by abutting the abutment portion 12b and the front end 22a of the side wall portion 21 with an inclined surface, the decorative front surface 10a is composed of only the first louver material 11, and the decorative side surface 10b is composed of only the second louver material 20. In addition, the boundary between the two is not very noticeable, which can enhance the design when the decorative front surface 10a and the decorative side surface 10b are made in different colors or patterns.

In addition, in order to neatly finish the boundary of the corner portion 10c, the decorative sheet 28 may be attached in a manner as shown in FIG. 5. That is, when attaching the decorative sheet 28 to the first louver material 11, the decorative sheet 28 may be attached so as to continuously cover the front surface 12a and the abutment portion 12b as shown in FIG. 5(a). Also, when attaching the decorative sheet 28 to the second louver material 20, the decorative sheet 28 may be attached so as to continuously cover the outer surface 21a and the front end 22a as shown in FIG. 5(b). In this case, one continuous decorative sheet 28 may be attached to the two outer surfaces 21a, or a separate decorative sheet 28 may be used for each outer surface 21a. By attaching in this manner, the decorative sheet 28 can be attached without unevenness at the boundary at the corner portion 10c.

In the embodiment described above, the decorative sheet 28 is used to change the color and pattern of the decorative surface, but the color and pattern of the decorative surface may be changed by anodizing or painting, etc.

In addition, in the above embodiment, the decorative front surface 10a and the decorative side surface 10b are formed as flat surfaces, but this is not limited thereto and they can be formed in any shape. For example, the decorative front surface 10a and the decorative side surface 10b may be formed as uneven surfaces or curved surfaces.

As described above, according to this embodiment, the decorative front surface 10a of the architectural louver 10 is formed by the front surface 12a of the first louver material 11, and the decorative side surface 10b of the architectural louver 10 is formed by a pair of side wall portions 21 (outer surfaces 21a in the longitudinal direction) of the second louver material 20. In other words, the decorative front surface 10a and the decorative side surface 10b are formed of different materials. With this configuration, before combining the first louver material 11 and the second louver material 20, the decorative front surface 10a and the decorative side surface 10b can be separately attached with a decorative sheet 28, or anodized or painted. Therefore, even if it is desired to make each decorative surface of the louver different colors or patterns, no special skills or significant effort are required, and the work can be easily and quickly performed.

In addition, the architectural louver 10 is completed by simply combining the first louver material 11 and the second louver material 20, which have been separately colored and patterned in this way, during construction (the first louver material 11 and the second louver material 20 fit together simply by pressing the first louver material 11 into the second louver material 20 from the front), making assembly easy.

The first louver material 11 also has an abutment portion 12b that abuts against the front ends 22a of the pair of side wall portions 21 of the second louver material 20, and the front ends 22a of the pair of side wall portions 21 and the abutment portion 12b abut on an inclined surface. Therefore, the boundary between the two members is located at the tip of the corner portion 10c, making the boundary less noticeable. In addition, since the decorative front surface 10a and the decorative side surface 10b are completely separate members, it is easy to perform surface finishing work or manufacture them in different colors. In addition, even when performing anodizing coating treatment or painting, if they are separate members, there is no need to perform treatment such as applying protection to the boundary, which reduces work costs.

It is also possible to use a decorative sheet 28 that continuously covers the front surface 12a and the butt portion 12b of the first louver material 11. That is, the end of the decorative sheet 28 attached to the front surface 12a of the first louver material 11 can be folded back and attached to the back surface (butt portion 12b). By using such a decorative sheet 28, the boundary of the corner portion 10c can be easily and evenly finished.

It is also possible to use a decorative sheet 28 that continuously covers the outer surface 21a and the front end 22a of the side wall portion 21 of the second louver material 20. That is, the end of the decorative sheet 28 attached to the side wall portion 21 of the second louver material 20 can be folded back and attached to the front end 22a. By using such a decorative sheet 28, the boundary of the corner portion 10c can be easily and evenly finished.

In addition, by using a decorative sheet 28 that continuously covers the front surface 12a and the butt portion 12b of the first louver material 11, and a decorative sheet 28 that continuously covers the outer surface 21a and the front end 22a of the side wall portion 21 of the second louver material 20, and by sandwiching the ends of these two decorative sheets 28 between the butt portion 12b and the front end 22a and abutting them, the boundary between the decorative sheets 28 can be hidden, so that architectural louvers 10 with different colors and patterns made of two decorative sheets 28 can be finished more easily and evenly.

The pair of side walls 21 of the second louver material 20 form the decorative side surface 10b with the outer surface 21a, and the inner surface 21b is formed with an engagement portion 22 for engaging with the first louver material 11. With this configuration, even if the decorative front surface 10a and the decorative side surface 10b are made of different materials, the architectural louver 10 can be manufactured with a small number of parts by utilizing both sides of the side walls 21 without excess or deficiency.

In addition, the second louver material 20 is fixed directly to the construction surface of the framework 50. That is, the second louver material 20 also functions as a fixing means to the framework 50. With this configuration, the architectural louver 10 can be manufactured using a small number of parts.

In the above embodiment, an example has been described in which the second louver material 20 is directly fixed to the construction surface, but this is not limiting.

For example, as shown in Figures 6 and 7, a receiving member 40 may be provided that is directly fixed to the construction surface of the structure 50, and the second louver material 30 may be fixed to this receiving member 40. Note that the basic aspects of the first louver material 11 and the second louver material 30 in this modified example are similar to those of the above-mentioned embodiment, so only the parts that differ significantly from the above-mentioned embodiment will be described below.

First, the second louver material 30 shown in this example does not have an attachment portion 23 for fixing to the main body 50, but instead has a first intermediate wall 33, a second intermediate wall 34, a locking wall 35, and a locking portion 36.

The first intermediate wall 33 and the second intermediate wall 34 are walls formed inside the second louver material 30 and are installed between a pair of side wall portions 31. Of these, the first intermediate wall 33 formed at the front is formed so that the tip of the insertion piece 13 abuts against it when the first louver material 11 is attached. This prevents the insertion piece 13 from going too far in when the first louver material 11 is attached.

The locking walls 35 are formed to protrude inward from the inner surface 31b of the second louver material 30. The locking walls 35 protrude from the left and right inner surfaces 31b so as to face each other. The locking walls 35 are set so that the tips of the engagement pieces 42, which will be described later, abut against them when the second louver material 30 is attached to the receiving member 40.

The locking portion 36 is a part of the side wall portion 31 and is the rear end portion of the side wall portion 31. This locking portion 36 protrudes rearward from the locking wall 35. In addition, a claw portion 37 is formed on the inside of this locking portion 36. This claw portion 37 is intended to engage with the check portion 43 described below.

The receiving member 40 is a long metal member, for example an extruded aluminum member. The receiving member 40 has a generally U-shaped cross section and includes an attachment piece 41 and an engagement piece 42.

The engagement pieces 42 are formed to protrude forward, and are formed in a pair on the left and right. The engagement pieces 42 are portions that are fixed to the inside of the pair of side wall portions 31 (locking portions 36) of the second louver material 30. In other words, the engagement pieces 42 are inserted between the pair of side wall portions 31 (locking portions 36) from the rear of the second louver material 30 and fit into each other. A check portion 43 is formed near the tip of the engagement pieces 42. The check portion 43 is a portion for engaging with the second louver material 30. The check portion 43 is formed to engage with the claw portion 37 when the receiving member 40 and the second louver material 30 are combined.
The mounting piece 41 is a portion that is directly fixed to the construction surface of the framework 50. Although not specifically shown, the mounting piece 41 can be fixed to the construction surface with a bolt or the like.
Next, a procedure for installing the architectural louver 10 will be described.
First, the receiving member 40 is fixed to the construction surface of the frame 50. That is, the mounting piece 41 is fixed to the frame 50. This causes the engagement piece 42 to protrude forward.

Next, the second louver material 30 is attached from the front. Specifically, the engagement piece 42 of the receiving member 40 is inserted between the side wall portion 31 (locking portion 36) of the second louver material 30. As it is inserted, the claw portion 37 and the backstop portion 43 interfere with each other, but the second louver material 30 is pressed in as is. This causes the engagement piece 42 and the side wall portion 31 to elastically deform, and the backstop portion 43 moves further back (forward) than the claw portion 37. This causes the claw portion 37 and the backstop portion 43 to engage with each other, and the tip of the engagement piece 42 hits the locking wall 35, attaching the second louver material 30 to the receiving member 40.

Finally, the first louver material 11 is attached to the second louver material 30. This procedure has already been described with reference to Figures 3 and 4. That is, by replacing the engagement portion 22 shown in Figures 3 and 4 with the engagement portion 32 shown in Figures 6 and 7, the first louver material 11 can be attached to the second louver material 30 by the procedure already described in Figures 3 and 4.

In this way, by providing a receiving member 40 that is directly fixed to the construction surface and fixing the second louver material 30 to the receiving member 40, various protrusion dimensions can be accommodated simply by changing the second louver material 30. In other words, various types of architectural louvers 10 can be provided simply by preparing molds with different dimensions for only the second louver material 30, thereby reducing manufacturing costs.
