The present invention relates to a sleeping bag.

The following Patent Document 1 describes a conventional sleeping bag. This sleeping bag has a bag-shaped sleeping bag body. The sleeping bag body has an upper part and a lower part. The upper part and the lower part are substantially rectangular in a plan view and have a first side, a second side, a third side, and a fourth side. The first side of the upper part and the lower part is one side in the longitudinal direction of the upper part and the lower part, the second side of the upper part and the lower part is the other side in the longitudinal direction of the upper part and the lower part, the third side of the upper part and the lower part is one side in the lateral direction of the upper part and the lower part, and the fourth side of the upper part and the lower part is the other side in the lateral direction of the upper part and the lower part. The fourth side of the upper part and the fourth side of the lower part are connected to each other, and the second side and the third side of the upper part and the lower part can be opened and closed freely by a slide fastener. The space between the first side of the upper portion and the first side of the lower portion is open to form an opening.
One end in the longitudinal direction is open.

The present invention provides a novel sleeping bag.

The sleeping bag of one aspect of the present invention comprises a bag-shaped sleeping bag body and at least one extension. The sleeping bag body has an opening that opens to one side of the length of the sleeping bag body and an edge of the opening. The at least one extension is a cushion, fabric, or sheet that is connected to the edge of the sleeping bag body and extends to one side of the length.

In one aspect of the sleeping bag of the present invention, a new sleeping bag is obtained in which at least one extension is connected to the edge of the opening of the sleeping bag body.

Below, we will explain several examples of the present invention, including Examples 1 and 2 and their design variations. Please note that the components of the examples and design variations described below can be combined with each other as long as they are not inconsistent with each other. Please also note that the materials, shapes, dimensions, numbers, and arrangements of the components in each aspect of the examples and design variations described below are merely examples, and that the design can be changed as desired as long as the same functions can be realized.

The sleeping bag S1 according to the first embodiment of the present invention and several other embodiments including its design modifications will be described below with reference to Figs. 1A to 7B. Figs. 1A to 7B show the sleeping bag S1 according to the first embodiment. Figs. 1A to 2B show the Y-Y', X-X' and Z-Z' directions. The Y-Y' direction is the longitudinal direction of the sleeping bag body 100 of the sleeping bag S1, and includes the Y direction (one longitudinal direction) and the Y' direction (the other longitudinal direction). The X-X' direction is the transverse direction of the sleeping bag body 100 of the sleeping bag S1, which is approximately perpendicular to the Y-Y' direction, and includes the X direction (one transverse direction) and the X' direction (the other transverse direction). The Z-Z' direction is the thickness direction of the sleeping bag body 100 of the sleeping bag S1, which is approximately perpendicular to the Y-Y' and X-X' directions, and includes the Z direction (the other transverse direction) and the Z' direction (one thickness direction).

The sleeping bag S1 has a bag-shaped (so-called envelope-shaped) sleeping bag body 100. The sleeping bag body 100 has a lower part 110 and an upper part 120. The lower part 110 is the part on the Z' direction side of the sleeping bag body 100 and is approximately rectangular when viewed from the Z direction side. The upper part 120 is the part on the Z direction side of the sleeping bag body 100 and is approximately rectangular when viewed from the Z direction side. The lower part 110 has a first side 111 in the Y direction, a second side 112 in the Y' direction, a third side 113 in the X direction, and a fourth side 114 in the X' direction. The upper part 120 has a first side 121 in the Y direction, a second side 122 in the Y' direction, a third side 123 in the X direction, and a fourth side 124 in the X' direction. In addition, the second side 112 of the lower portion 110 and the second side 122 of the upper portion 120 can be formed into an arc shape that protrudes in the Y' direction (not shown).

The fourth side 114 of the lower portion 110 and the fourth side 124 of the upper portion 120 are connected to each other, and the lower portion 110 and the upper portion 120 may be configured as a single futon with batting filled inside (see Figures 3A and 3B), or as a single piece of fabric (not shown). In this case, the lower portion 110 and the upper portion 120 can be used by overlapping each other in the Z-Z' direction (see Figures 1A to 2B), or can be unfolded and used as a single futon (see Figures 3A and 3B) or as a single piece of fabric.

Alternatively, the lower part 110 and the upper part 120 may each be configured as a separate futon (not shown) with batting filled inside the futon side, or may be configured as a separate piece of fabric (not shown). The fourth side 114 of the lower part 110 and the fourth side 124 of the upper part 120 may be connected detachably, or may be connected non-detachably by sewing or joining. In the former case, the lower part 110 and the upper part 120 can be used by overlapping each other in the Z-Z' direction, or they can be used separately. In the latter case, the lower part 110 and the upper part 120 can be used by overlapping each other in the Z-Z' direction, or they can be used unfolded.

When the lower portion 110 and the upper portion 120 are configured to form a single futon (see Figures 3A and 3B) or a single piece of fabric (not shown), or when the lower portion 110 and the upper portion 120 are separate and the fourth edge 114 of the lower portion 110 and the fourth edge 124 of the upper portion 120 are non-detachably connected, the second edge 112 and the third edge 113 of the lower portion 110 and the second edge 122 and the third edge 123 of the upper portion 120 are connected by a line fastener 130 so as to be freely opened and closed. The linear fastener 130 has a first row of teeth in a substantially L-shape provided on the second side 112 and the third side 113 of the lower portion 110, a second row of teeth in a substantially L-shape provided on the second side 122 and the third side 123 of the upper portion 120, and a slider for opening and closing the first row of teeth and the second row of teeth. When the lower portion 110 and the upper portion 120 are overlapped and the first row of teeth and the second row of teeth are substantially parallel, the slider moves to close and release the first and second rows of teeth. In this way, the second side 112 and the third side 113 of the lower portion 110 and the second side 122 and the third side 123 of the upper portion 120 are closed and released by the linear fastener 130. When the second side 112 and the third side 113 of the lower part 110 and the second side 122 and the third side 123 of the upper part 120 are closed together by the line fastener 130, the sleeping bag body 100 is bag-shaped.

When the lower part 110 and the upper part 120 are separate and the fourth side 114 of the lower part 110 and the fourth side 124 of the upper part 120 are detachably connected (not shown), the second side 112, the third side 113, and the fourth side 114 of the lower part 110 and the second side 122, the third side 123, and the fourth side 124 of the upper part 120 are connected by a line fastener 130 so as to be freely opened and closed. The line fastener 130 has a substantially L-shaped first tooth row provided on the second side 112, the third side 113, and the fourth side 114 of the lower part 110, a substantially L-shaped second tooth row provided on the second side 122, the third side 123, and the fourth side 124 of the upper part 120, and a slider that opens and closes the first tooth row and the second tooth row. When the lower part 110 and the upper part 120 are overlapped and the first and second tooth rows are approximately parallel, the slider moves to close and release the first and second tooth rows. In this way, the second side 112, the third side 113, and the fourth side 114 of the lower part 110 and the second side 122, the third side 123, and the fourth side 124 of the upper part 120 are closed and released by the line fastener 130. When the second side 112, the third side 113, and the fourth side 114 of the lower part 110 and the second side 122, the third side 123, and the fourth side 124 of the upper part 120 are closed by the line fastener 130, the sleeping bag body 100 is bag-shaped.

When the sleeping bag body 100 is in a bag-like shape as described above, it has an opening O that opens in the Y direction. The opening O is provided between the first side 111 of the lower part 110 and the first side 121 of the upper part 120 of the sleeping bag body 100. Therefore, the first side 111 of the lower part 110 and the first side 121 of the upper part 120 are also edges of the opening O. More specifically, the first side 111 of the lower part 110 is the lower edge on the Z' direction side of the opening O, and the first side 121 of the upper part 120 is the upper edge on the Z direction side of the opening O.

The line fastener 130 can be omitted. Also, hook-and-loop fasteners or snap buttons can be used instead of the line fastener 130.

The sleeping bag S1 further includes at least one extension. The at least one extension is a cushion (see FIGS. 1A to 7B), fabric (not shown), or sheet (not shown) that is connected to the edge of the opening O of the sleeping bag body 100 on the Z' direction side, i.e., the first side 111 of the lower part 110, and extends in the Y direction. The at least one extension may be connected integrally to the first side 111 of the lower part 110 of the sleeping bag body 100, or may be a separate body from the sleeping bag body 100 and connected (connected) to be detachable. The cushion is, for example, a bag filled with padding. The sheet is, for example, a flexible sheet made of polyester taffeta, polyester oxford, nylon, cotton, or the like.

At least one extension portion can be approximately rectangular (see Figures 1A to 7B), approximately square (not shown), approximately semicircular (not shown), or approximately semi-elliptical (not shown) when viewed from the Z direction side.

The at least one extension may include a first extension 200a and a second extension 200b (see Figures 1A to 7B). The first extension 200a and the second extension 200b have the same configuration as the at least one extension described above. The first extension 200a has a first end 201a on the Y direction side, a second end 202a on the Y' direction side, a third end 203a on the X' direction side, and a fourth end 204a on the X direction side. The second extension 200b has a first end 201b on the Y direction side, a second end 202b on the Y' direction side, a third end 203b on the X' direction side, and a fourth end 204b on the X direction side. The second end 202a of the first extension 200a is connected integrally or detachably to the edge of the opening O of the sleeping bag body 100 on the Z' direction side, i.e., the first side 111 of the lower part 110, and the second end 202b of the second extension 200b is connected integrally or detachably to the edge of the opening O of the sleeping bag body 100 on the Z' direction side, i.e., the first side 111 of the lower part 110. The first extension 200a and the second extension 200b are spaced apart in the X-X' direction. More specifically, the first extension 200a is spaced apart from the second extension 200b in the X direction, and the second extension 200b is spaced apart from the first extension 200a in the X' direction.

The first extension portion 200a and the second extension portion 200b can be configured to have a first portion 210a and a first portion 210b. The first portion 210a of the first extension portion 200a is a portion on the Y-direction side and the X'-direction side of the first extension portion 200a, and the first portion 210b of the second extension portion 200b is a portion on the Y-direction side and the X-direction side of the second extension portion 200b. For example, when the first extension portion 200a and the second extension portion 200b are approximately rectangular (see Figures 1A to 7B) or approximately square (not shown) when viewed from the Z direction side, the first portion 210a of the first extension portion 200a is a corner portion on the Y direction side and the X' direction side of the first extension portion 200a (the X' direction end portion of the first end 201a), and the first portion 210b of the second extension portion 200b is a corner portion on the Y direction side and the X direction side of the second extension portion 200b (the X direction end portion of the first end 201b). When the first extension portion 200a and the second extension portion 200b are substantially semicircular (not shown) or substantially semielliptical (not shown) when viewed from the Z direction side, the first portion 210a of the first extension portion 200a is the end portion on the Y direction side and the X' direction side of the first extension portion 200a (the X' direction end portion of the first end 201a), and the first portion 210b of the second extension portion 200b is the end portion on the Y direction side and the X direction side of the second extension portion 200b (the X direction end portion of the first end 201b).

The first extension portion 200a and the second extension portion 200b may further include a second portion 220a and a second portion 220b. The second portion 220a of the first extension portion 200a is a portion on the Y-direction side and the X-direction side of the first extension portion 200a, and the second portion 220b of the second extension portion 200b is a portion on the Y-direction side and the X'-direction side of the second extension portion 200b. For example, when the first extension portion 200a and the second extension portion 200b are approximately rectangular (see Figures 1A to 7B) or approximately square (not shown) when viewed from the Z direction side, the second portion 220b of the first extension portion 200a is a corner portion on the Y direction side and the X direction side of the first extension portion 200a (the X direction end portion of the first end 201a), and the second portion 220b of the second extension portion 200b is a corner portion on the Y direction side and the X' direction side of the second extension portion 200b (the X' direction end portion of the first end 201b). When the first extension portion 200a and the second extension portion 200b are substantially semicircular (not shown) or substantially semielliptical (not shown) when viewed from the Z direction side, the second portion 220a of the first extension portion 200a is the end portion on the Y direction side and the X direction side of the first extension portion 200a (the X direction end portion of the first end 201a), and the second portion 220b of the second extension portion 200b is the end portion on the Y direction side and the X' direction side of the second extension portion 200b (the X' direction end portion of the first end 201b).

The first extension portion 200a may further include a first engagement portion 211a. The second extension portion 200b may further include a first engagement portion 211b. The first engagement portion 211a is provided on the first portion 210a of the first extension portion 200a. The first engagement portion 211b is provided on the first portion 210b of the second extension portion 200b.

For example, the first engagement portion 211a may be one of a pair of snap buttons (see Figures 1A to 6B) or one of a hook-and-loop fasteners (not shown) provided on the surface of the first portion 210a in the Z direction, and the first engagement portion 211b may be the other of a pair of snap buttons (see Figures 1A to 6B) or the other of a hook-and-loop fastener (not shown) provided on the surface of the first portion 210b in the Z' direction.

Alternatively, the first engagement portion 211a may be a substantially U-shaped hook or a substantially T-shaped toggle provided on the first portion 210a (not shown), and the first engagement portion 211b may be a loop or a ring provided on the first portion 210b (not shown). Alternatively, the first engagement portion 211a may be a loop or a ring provided on the first portion 210a (not shown), and the first engagement portion 211b may be a substantially U-shaped hook or a substantially T-shaped toggle provided on the first portion 210b (not shown).

Instead of the roughly U-shaped hook or roughly T-shaped toggle, a string can be used. The string can be hooked (engaged) with a loop or ring. In addition, both the first engagement portion 211a and the first engagement portion 211b may be strings (not shown).

The first extension 200a may further include a second engagement portion 221a. The second extension 200b may further include a second engagement portion 221b. The second engagement portion 221a is provided on the second portion 220a of the first extension 200a. The second engagement portion 221b is provided on the second portion 220b of the second extension 200b.

For example, the second engagement portion 221a may be one of a pair of snap buttons (see Figures 1A to 6B) or one of a hook-and-loop fasteners (not shown) provided on the surface of the second portion 220a in the Z direction, and the second engagement portion 221b may be the other of a pair of snap buttons (see Figures 1A to 6B) or the other of a hook-and-loop fastener (not shown) provided on the surface of the second portion 220b in the Z' direction.

Alternatively, the second engagement portion 221a may be a substantially U-shaped hook or a substantially T-shaped toggle provided on the second portion 220a (not shown), and the second engagement portion 221b may be a loop or a ring provided on the second portion 220b (not shown). Alternatively, the second engagement portion 221a may be a loop or a ring provided on the second portion 220a (not shown), and the second engagement portion 221b may be a substantially U-shaped hook or a substantially T-shaped toggle provided on the second portion 220b (not shown).

Instead of the roughly U-shaped hook or roughly T-shaped toggle, a string can be used. Also, both second engagement portion 221a and second engagement portion 221b may be strings (not shown).

The first extension 200a can be folded back in the Y' direction so as to overlap the sleeping bag body 100, with the boundary between the first extension 200a and the first side 111 of the sleeping bag body 100 as a fulcrum, and the second extension 200b can be folded back in the Y' direction so as to overlap the sleeping bag body 100, with the boundary between the first extension 200a and the first side 111 of the sleeping bag body 100 as a fulcrum. In this case, the distance between the first extension 200a and the second extension 200b in the X-X' direction is greater than the width of the user's head in the X-X' direction (see Figures 5A and 5B). As a result, when the user is inside the sleeping bag body 100, the user's head is positioned between the first extension 200a and the second extension 200b before folding. When the user is inside the sleeping bag body 100, the first extension 200a before folding is positioned so that it is located on the Y side of the user's shoulder on the X side, and the second extension 200b before folding is positioned so that it is located on the Y side of the user's shoulder on the X' side (see Figures 5A and 5B).

When the user is inside the sleeping bag body 100, the first extension part 200a and the second extension part 200b can be folded back to cover both shoulders of the user. When the first extension part 200a and the second extension part 200b are folded back to cover both shoulders of the user, they may be positioned on the Z' direction side of the upper part 120 of the sleeping bag body 100 so that the upper part 120 overlaps (is covered by) the first extension part 200a and the second extension part 200b from the Z direction side, or they may be positioned so that they overlap (is covered by) the upper part 120 of the sleeping bag body 100 from the Z direction side.

The first part 210a of the first extension part 200a and the first part 210b of the second extension part 200b may be in contact with or overlap with each other when the first extension part 200a and the second extension part 200b are folded back. In this case, a window part W is formed between the first extension part 200a and the second extension part 200b. When the first extension part 200a and the second extension part 200b are folded back to cover both shoulders of the user, the user's head can be exposed in the Y direction through the window part W.

When the first engaging portion 211a and the first engaging portion 211b are provided, the first extension portion 200a and the second extension portion 200b are folded back, and the first portion 210a of the first extension portion 200a and the first portion 210b of the second extension portion 200b are in contact with or overlapping each other, and the first engaging portion 211a and the first engaging portion 211b are engaged with each other. Specifically, when the first engaging portion 211a and the first engaging portion 211b are a pair of snap buttons, they are fastened together. When the first engaging portion 211a and the first engaging portion 211b are a pair of hook-and-loop fasteners, they are connected to each other. When one of the first engaging portion 211a and the first engaging portion 211b is a substantially U-shaped hook or a substantially T-shaped toggle, and the other is a loop or ring, the hook or toggle is hooked onto the loop or ring. When one of the first engaging portion 211a and the first engaging portion 211b is a string and the other is a loop or ring, the string is tied to the loop or ring. When the first engaging portion 211a and the first engaging portion 211b are a string, they are tied to each other. By engaging the first engaging portion 211a and the first engaging portion 211b with each other in this manner, the first extension portion 200a and the second extension portion 200b are folded back, and the first portion 210a of the first extension portion 200a and the first portion 210b of the second extension portion 200b are maintained in contact with or overlapping each other.

In addition, the first extension portion 200a can be bent diagonally in the X' direction, and the second extension portion 200b can be bent diagonally in the X direction (see Figs. 6A to 7B). When the first extension portion 200a is bent diagonally in the X' direction and the second extension portion 200b is bent diagonally in the X direction, the first end 201a of the first extension portion 200a and the first end 201b of the second extension portion 200b contact or overlap each other (see Figs. 6A to 7B). In other words, the first extension portion 200a is bent diagonally in the X' direction and the second extension portion 200b is bent diagonally in the X direction so that the first end 201a of the first extension portion 200a and the first end 201b of the second extension portion 200b contact or overlap each other. In this folded state, the fourth end 204a of the first extension 200a and the fourth end 204b of the second extension 200b are located on the Y-direction side of the first side 121 of the upper part 120 of the sleeping bag body 100.

When the user is inside the sleeping bag body 100, the user can place his/her head on the first extension parts 200a and 200b that are folded as described above and use them as a pillow. Also, when the user is inside the sleeping bag body 100, the user can place his/her head inside the first extension parts 200a and 200b that are folded as described above.

When the first engaging portion 211a, the first engaging portion 211b, the second engaging portion 221a and the second engaging portion 221b are provided, the first extension portion 200a is bent diagonally toward the X' direction and the second extension portion 200b is bent diagonally toward the X direction so that the first end 201a of the first extension portion 200a and the first end 201b of the second extension portion 200b contact or overlap each other, and the first engaging portion 211a and the first engaging portion 211b are engaged with each other as described above, and the second engaging portion 221a and the second engaging portion 221b are engaged with each other in the same manner as the first engaging portion 211a and the first engaging portion 211b. As a result, the first extension portion 200a is bent obliquely toward the X' direction and the second extension portion 200b is bent obliquely toward the X direction so that the first end 201a of the first extension portion 200a and the first end 201b of the second extension portion 200b contact or overlap each other, maintaining the state.

It is possible to omit all of the first engaging portion 211a, the first engaging portion 211b, the second engaging portion 221a, and the second engaging portion 221b. It is also possible to omit the second engaging portion 221a and the second engaging portion 221b while the first engaging portion 211a and the first engaging portion 211b are provided, and vice versa.

The sleeping bag S1 described above has the following first to third technical features and effects.

First Technical Feature and Effect A novel sleeping bag S1 is obtained in which at least one extension part is connected to the edge of the opening of the sleeping bag body. This at least one extension part can be used in various ways, such as as a pillow, or by folding back or over the user to cover the shoulders exposed through the opening when in use.

Second Technical Feature and Effect When the first extension part 200a and the second extension part 200b are provided, the first extension part 200a and the second extension part 200b can be folded back to cover both shoulders of the user while the user is inside the sleeping bag body 100. Moreover, when the first engagement part 211a is provided on the first extension part 200a and the first engagement part 211b is provided on the second extension part 200b, the first extension part 200a and the second extension part 200b are folded back and the first part 210a of the first extension part 200a and the first part 210b of the second extension part 200b are in contact with or overlapping each other, and this state is maintained by the first engagement part 211a and the first engagement part 211b engaging with each other.

Third Technical Feature and Effect When the first extension part 200a and the second extension part 200b are provided, the first extension part 200a can be folded diagonally in the X' direction and the second extension part 200b can be folded diagonally in the X direction so that the first end 201a of the first extension part 200a and the first end 201b of the second extension part 200b come into contact with or overlap with each other. This allows the user to use the sleeping bag as a pillow by placing his/her head on the first extension parts 200a and 200b folded as described above while inside the sleeping bag body 100, or to use the sleeping bag as a pillow by placing his/her head inside the first extension parts 200a and 200b folded as described above.

Below, sleeping bag S2 according to several embodiments of the present invention, including Example 2 and its design variations, will be described with reference to Figures 8A and 8B. Figures 8A and 8B show sleeping bag S2 according to Example 2. As with sleeping bag S1, Figures 8A and 8B also show the Y-Y' and X-X' directions. For the Z-Z' direction, please refer to Figures 1A to 7B.

The sleeping bag body 100 of sleeping bag S2 has the same configuration as the sleeping bag body 100 of sleeping bag S1. Sleeping bag S2 has one extension 200. The extension 200 of sleeping bag S2 can have the same configuration as at least one extension of sleeping bag S1. The extension 200 can be folded back in the Y' direction so as to overlap the sleeping bag body 100, using the boundary between the extension 200 and the first side 111 of the sleeping bag body 100 as a fulcrum.

The extension 200 may be provided with an insertion hole 210 that penetrates the extension 200 in the Z-Z' direction. When the user is inside the sleeping bag body 100, the extension 200 is folded back so as to overlap the sleeping bag body 100, so that the extension 200 covers both shoulders of the user and the user's head is inserted into the insertion hole 210 of the extension 200. When the extension 200 is folded back to cover both shoulders of the user, it may be arranged on the Z'-direction side of the upper part 120 of the sleeping bag body 100 so that the upper part 120 overlaps (is covered by) the first extension 200a and the second extension 200b from the Z-direction side, or it may be arranged so that it overlaps (is covered by) the upper part 120 of the sleeping bag body 100 from the Z-direction side. The insertion hole 210 may be omitted.
