Description

The present invention relates to an outer garment that has a pouch and can be stored in the pouch.

Patent Document 1 discloses a jacket with a pouch with an opening in the center of the back lining. The jacket is stored by opening the opening and turning the pouch inside out, encasing the entire jacket.

The technology disclosed in Patent Document 1 has an opening for the pouch in the center of the back of the jacket, so if the wearer leans their back, the opening may open and become noticeable.

The object of the present invention is to provide technology that makes the pouch that stores the jacket less noticeable and allows the jacket to be smaller when stored.

The jacket 10 comprises a front portion 12, a back portion 14, a first pocket 16a and a second pocket 16b (referred to as "pockets 16" when not distinguished), and a pouch portion 18.

The front portions 12 of the jacket 10 can be fastened and unfastened by fastening portions 12a. The fastening portions 12a are linear fasteners that fasten teeth provided on each of the pair of front portions 12. Note that the fastening portions 12a may be buttons, for example, as long as they are capable of fastening the pair of front portions 12 together.

The pockets 16 are rectangular and formed on the inner surface of the front portion 12, with a pair of pockets provided on the left and right sides of the inner surface of the front portion 12. The pockets 16 are capable of containing objects. The pockets 16 open to the outside of the jacket 10, allowing the user wearing the jacket 10 to reach into the pockets 16 through the opening.

The pouch portion 18 is formed on the inside of the front portion 12. The pouch portion 18 can store the jacket 10, and storing the jacket 10 makes the jacket 10 smaller and easier to carry. By forming the pouch portion 18 on the inner surface, the pouch portion 18 becomes less noticeable.

When the outerwear 10 is roughly divided into a lower storage section 11a and an upper storage section 11b, the lower storage section 11a is designed to have a lower feather filling rate than the upper storage section 11b. In other words, the amount of feather per volume in the lower storage section 11a and the upper storage section 11b is lower in the lower storage section 11a than in the upper storage section 11b. This allows the outerwear 10 to be made lighter.

Figure 2 is a diagram showing the inside of the jacket 10. The jacket 10 shown in Figure 2 shows the back portion 14 partially folded. Figure 3 is a partially enlarged view of the inside of the jacket 10. The jacket 10 shown in Figure 3 shows an enlarged view of the first pocket 16a and pouch portion 18, with the first fabric portion 20 of the pouch portion 18 partially cut away. In Figure 3, the stitching of the pouch portion 18 is indicated by dashed lines.

The pouch portion 18 is shown as being provided on the first pocket 16a side, but it may also be provided on the second pocket 16b side. The pouch portion 18 is formed elongated and oriented horizontally, is provided on the lower end 12c side of the front portion 12, and is placed on the pocket 16.

As shown in Figure 3, the bag portion 18 has a first fabric portion 20, a second fabric portion 22, and a third fabric portion 24. The first fabric portion 20 in Figure 3 is shown with the lower end 12c side cut away, but in reality it has the same vertical width as the second fabric portion 22. The first fabric portion 20 and the second fabric portion 22 are arranged to cover the third fabric portion 24.

One end 20a of the first fabric portion 20 is not sewn to the third fabric portion 24, and one end 22a of the second fabric portion 22 is not sewn to the third fabric portion 24. In other words, one end 20a of the first fabric portion 20 and one end 22a of the second fabric portion 22 form the opening 26 of the bag portion 18. The opening 26 of the bag portion 18 opens to the inside of the outerwear 10. One end 20a of the first fabric portion 20 and one end 22a of the second fabric portion 22 are made of rubber material through piping and are stretchable. As a result, the opening 26 is normally closed, but can be opened wide when the outerwear 10 is stored.

Tucks are provided at both corners of the other end 20b of the first fabric portion 20 and at both corners of the other end 20b of the second fabric portion 22. Furthermore, the first fabric portion 20 and the second fabric portion 22 have a vertical fabric length that is longer than the vertical distance between a pair of horizontal stitches 28. This ensures sufficient storage space for the bag portion 18.

The horizontal stitches 28 of the pouch portion 18 extend horizontally from both the top and bottom edges of the pouch portion 18, stitching together and connecting the top and bottom edges of the first fabric portion 20 and the second fabric portion 22 to the top and bottom edges of the third fabric portion 24. The horizontal stitches 28 do not connect the pouch portion 18 to the pocket 16. This makes it easier for the pouch portion 18 to assume a cylindrical shape when the jacket 10 is stored inside.

The vertical stitches 30 of the pouch portion 18 extend vertically along both the left and right sides of the pouch portion 18, connecting the other end 20b of the first fabric portion 20 and the other end 22b of the second fabric portion 22 to both the left and right sides of the third fabric portion 24 and the front portion 12. The vertical stitches 30 sew the pouch portion 18 to the inner surface of the front portion 12. The pouch portion 18 is sewn together at its top, bottom, left, and right sides with horizontal stitches 28 and vertical stitches 30 to form a rectangle. The pouch portion 18 may be first formed into a rectangle with the horizontal stitches 28 and vertical stitches 30, and then sewn to the front portion 12 with additional vertical stitches 30.

The first fabric portion 20 is formed horizontally and longitudinally, and the second fabric portion 22 is horizontally shorter than the first fabric portion 20. The horizontal length of the first fabric portion 20 is longer than half the horizontal length of the bag portion 18, and the horizontal length of the second fabric portion 22 is shorter than half the horizontal length of the bag portion 18. This makes it easier to pack the last piece of outerwear 10 by first turning the first fabric portion 20 inside out and then turning the second fabric portion 22 inside out when storing the outerwear.

An opening 26 is formed where one end 20a of the first fabric portion 20 and one end 22a of the second fabric portion 22 overlap. By partially overlapping the first fabric portion 20 and the second fabric portion 22, the overall length of the bag portion 18 can be ensured when the bag portion 18 is stored. The opening 26 opens sideways on the lower end 12c side of the jacket 10.

The pocket 16 is sewn to the left and right seam allowances 12d of the front portion 12. The vertical stitches 30 that sew the pouch portion 18 to the front portion 12 are also sewn to the seam allowances 12d. In other words, the edge of the pouch portion 18 is sewn to the same seam allowance 12d as the edge of the pocket 16. This prevents the vertical stitches 30 of the pouch portion 18 from obstructing the storage compartment of the down jacket, making the vertical stitches 30 less noticeable.

A handle is formed at the other end 22b of the second fabric portion 22 using a loop of the same fabric. This handle is exposed when the jacket 10 is stored in the pouch portion 18.

Figure 4 is a diagram illustrating the process of storing the jacket 10 in the pouch portion 18. Figure 4(a) shows the jacket 10 in an unfolded state, exposing the pouch portion 18. Figure 4(b) shows the jacket 10 folded approximately in half to match the horizontal length of the pouch portion 18.

Figure 4(c) shows the jacket 10 being rolled from the neck side toward the bottom end 12c. The second pocket 16b is located on the inside, while the first pocket 16a and the pouch portion 18 are located on the outside to prevent them from being rolled inward. By rolling the jacket 10 along the seam allowance 12d, it is folded neatly into a cylindrical shape and rolled to a small diameter.

Figure 5 is a diagram for explaining the process of storing the jacket 10 in the pouch portion 18, and shows a continuation of the storing process shown in Figure 4. Figure 5(a) shows the jacket 10 rolled into a cylindrical shape, with the pouch portion 18 exposed.

The pouch 18 is positioned along the axial direction of the cylindrical jacket 10. The jacket 10 has a cylindrical shape that corresponds to the horizontal length of the pouch 18. Because the pouch 18 is positioned horizontally on the bottom end 12c side of the jacket 10, when the jacket 10 is rolled from the neck side toward the bottom end 12c, the entire length of the cylindrical jacket 10 is exposed. This makes it possible to reduce wrinkles in the jacket 10 when it is stored. Furthermore, the bottom end 12c side of the jacket 10 where the pouch 18 is located does not have to be in contact with the bottom end 12c; it is sufficient that the pouch 18 is located around the bottom end 12c so that it is exposed when the jacket 10 is rolled from the neck side toward the bottom end 12c as shown in Figure 5(a).

The first fabric portion 20 is turned inside out relative to the cylindrical jacket 10. The user grasps one end 20a of the first fabric portion 20 and widens the opening 26 to turn the first fabric portion 20 inside out. Figure 5(b) shows the first fabric portion 20 turned inside out, with the jacket 10 partially wrapped by the first fabric portion 20 and the third fabric portion 24. Because the first fabric portion 20 is formed long and horizontally, the protruding portion 31 of the jacket 10 that is not stowed can be reduced. When the first fabric portion 20 is turned inside out, the protruding portion 31 bulges, but this bulge can be reduced. This facilitates the process of turning the second fabric portion 22 inside out.

Next, the second fabric portion 22 is turned inside out from one end 22a, and the protruding jacket 10 is pushed into the opening 26, so that the jacket 10 is stored in the bag portion 18 as shown in Figure 5(c). In the stored state, the jacket 10 is cylindrical, with the handle 32 exposed. Compared to when the first fabric portion 20 and the second fabric portion 22 are evenly spaced horizontally, the second fabric portion 22, which is shorter horizontally, only needs to be turned inside out last, making the process of storing the jacket 10 easier.

In this way, the jacket 10 is stored in the bag portion 18 by turning the first fabric portion 20 and the second fabric portion 22 inside out from the opening 26 side. Furthermore, because the jacket 10 shown in Figure 5(a) is rolled up to a small diameter, it is easy to form a cylindrical shape when stored in the bag portion 18. This also reduces wrinkles in the stored jacket 10.

In addition, when the jacket 10 is rolled into a cylindrical shape, the outer periphery tends to bulge, but by reducing the amount of feathers per volume in the lower storage section 11a as shown in Figure 1(a), this bulging of the outer periphery can be suppressed.

The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various design changes and other modifications may be made to each embodiment based on the knowledge of those skilled in the art. Such modified embodiments also fall within the scope of the present invention.
