Description

The present invention relates to a compact container.

Conventionally, compact containers, such as those disclosed in Patent Document 1, have been known as containers for storing cosmetics such as eye shadow. Compact containers generally comprise a container body with a cosmetic storage section and an applicator storage section, and a lid that can be opened and closed relative to the container body. The cosmetic storage section stores cosmetics, and the applicator storage section stores an applicator appropriate for the cosmetics. In such compact containers, as disclosed in Patent Document 1, the cosmetic storage section is provided with multiple storage spaces, allowing multiple colors or types of cosmetics to be stored. When a compact container stores a large number of colors or types of cosmetics, the applicator storage section may store multiple applicators accordingly.

Compact containers are often used on the go. For this reason, they are required to be easy to carry, i.e., as small as possible. However, if the applicator housing is constructed with the minimum amount of space required in accordance with the size of the applicator, it can be difficult to remove the applicator from the applicator housing. In other words, if there is insufficient space in the applicator housing to insert fingers to remove the applicator, it becomes difficult to grasp and remove the applicator with the fingers. If the applicator cannot be removed properly, problems such as cosmetics being unintentionally attached to fingers or the applicator flying out of the applicator housing and falling, causing the surrounding area to become soiled with cosmetics, or the applicator becoming soiled.

On the other hand, providing sufficient space in the applicator housing for removing the applicator makes it difficult to make the compact small. Furthermore, if the volume of the applicator housing is too large relative to the applicator, the applicator will move around inside the applicator housing when carrying the compact. In this case, cosmetics adhering to the applicator will adhere to the inner walls of the applicator housing or the mirror on the lid, soiling the inside of the compact. If cosmetics adhere to the inside of the compact, they will also adhere to the applicator, causing problems such as multiple colors of cosmetics adhering to the applicator.

The objective of the present invention is to provide a compact container that allows the applicator to be easily removed from the compact container and that can be made compact.

In order to solve the above problems, the compact container of the present invention comprises a container body provided with a cosmetic storage section for storing cosmetics and an applicator storage section having a storage space for storing an applicator for applying the cosmetics, and a lid that can open and close and cover the opening surface of the container body, the applicator storage section having a bottom wall surface and side wall sections that define the storage space, an opening being provided in the side wall sections, and the lid having a covering section that covers the opening, the opening being covered by the covering section when the lid is in a closed position, and the covering section being separated from the opening when the lid is in an open position, allowing the applicator to be removed from the opening.

In the above compact container, it is also preferable that the applicator be configured to be detachable from the applicator housing by magnetic force.

In the above compact container, it is also preferable that the applicator can be attached to and detached from the lid by magnetic force when the lid is in an open position, and that no magnetic force acts between the applicator and the lid when the lid is in a closed position with the applicator housed in the applicator housing.

The compact case according to the present invention comprises a container body provided with a cosmetic storage section for storing a cosmetic and an applicator storage section having a storage space for storing an applicator for applying the cosmetic;
and a lid body that can be opened and closed to cover the opening surface of the container body, wherein the applicator can be attached and detached to the lid body or the applicator storage section by magnetic force, and when the lid body is in the open state, the applicator can be removed from an opening provided in the side wall of the lid body or the applicator storage section.

In the compact container according to the present invention, an opening for removing the applicator is provided in the side wall that defines the storage space of the applicator storage unit, and a covering portion that covers this opening is provided in the lid. The opening is covered by the covering portion when the lid is closed, and when the lid is open, the covering portion is separated from the opening, allowing the applicator to be removed from the opening. In addition, in other compact containers according to the present invention, by sliding the applicator magnetically attached to the lid or applicator storage unit, the applicator can be easily removed from the opening while still in close contact with the lid or applicator storage unit.

Therefore, with the compact container of the present invention, even if there is no space to insert a finger into the applicator housing through the opening of the container body to grasp and remove the applicator, the applicator can be easily removed by sliding it relative to the container body. This allows the applicator housing to be made compact, and the entire compact container to be made small.

An embodiment of a compact case according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[First embodiment]
A compact case 100 according to a first embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 5. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the compact case 100 of this embodiment includes a case body 10 and a lid 20 that opens and closes the top surface (opening surface) of the case body 10. The lid 20 is rotatably attached to the case body 10 via a pivoting portion (a body-side pivoting portion 11, a lid-side pivoting portion 21). In this specification, the terms "upper" and "lower" refer to relative positions. When the compact case 100 is placed on a horizontal surface with the lid 20 closed as shown in FIG. 2(b), the side on which the case body 10 is located is referred to as "lower" and the side on which the lid 20 is located is referred to as "upper." The direction along the pivot axis of the pivoting portion (a body-side pivoting portion 11, a lid-side pivoting portion 21) is referred to as the "left-right direction." Furthermore, the direction perpendicular to both the up-down direction and the left-right direction is referred to as the "front-rear direction," and the side of the container body 10 where the body-side pivoting portion 11 is provided is referred to as the "rear," and the opposite side is referred to as the "front."

The container body 10 has a bottom wall 10a and a body-side peripheral wall 10b that surrounds the outer edge of the bottom wall 10a, forming a storage space that is generally rectangular in top view and is partitioned by the bottom wall 10a and the body-side peripheral wall 10b. The storage space of the container body 10 is divided left and right by a partition 10c. The left side of the partition 10c in the container body 10 is configured as a cosmetic storage section 12 for storing cosmetics 31a-31d. The right side of the partition 10c in the container body 10 is configured as an applicator storage section 13 for storing an applicator 40. Note that Figure 1 shows the cosmetic storage section 12 and the applicator storage section 13 with cosmetics 31a-31d and the applicator 40 stored therein, respectively, while Figure 2(a) shows the cosmetic storage section 12 and the applicator storage section 13 without cosmetics 31a-31d and the applicator 40 stored therein.

The front side of the container body 10 is provided with an engagement portion 14 that releasably engages with the claw portion 22 provided on the lid body 20. The rear side of the container body 10 is also provided with the aforementioned body-side pivot portion 11. The body-side pivot portion 11 functions as a bearing into which the lid-side pivot portion 21, which is configured as a pivot shaft, is rotatably inserted.

As shown in Figure 2(a), the cosmetic storage section 12 is divided into four cosmetic storage spaces 12a-12d. In this embodiment, cosmetics 31a-31d filled in inner trays are stored in the cosmetic storage spaces 12a-12d (see Figure 1).

The cosmetics 31a-31d are not particularly limited, but can suitably contain pressed eyeshadow, cream eyeshadow, and the like. In addition to eyeshadow, the cosmetics 31a-31d may also be lipstick, gloss, blush, eyebrow pencil, eyeliner, and the like. The type and form of the cosmetics 31a-31d are not particularly limited, as long as they can be contained in the cosmetic storage spaces 12a-12d, which are configured in a concave shape. When multiple cosmetics 31a-31d are stored in the cosmetic storage section 12, these may be the same type of cosmetics or different types of cosmetics. Furthermore, the cosmetics 31a-31d may be filled directly into each cosmetic storage space 12a-12d without using an inner tray, and the form in which the cosmetics are stored in the cosmetic storage section 12 is not particularly limited.

The applicator storage section 13 is a recessed storage space for storing the applicator 40, and is partitioned by the bottom wall surface 10a, the main body side peripheral wall portion 10b, and the partition portion 10c. Here, the wall surface portion of the main body side peripheral wall portion 10b that is located to the right of the bottom wall surface 10a is referred to as the main body side right wall portion 15 (side wall portion). As shown in Figure 3(b) and other figures, the main body side right wall portion 15 is provided with an opening 15a for removing the applicator 40. The opening 15a is sized to allow the applicator 40 to be inserted or removed by sliding the applicator 40 left or right relative to the container body 10.

A magnetic sheet 16 made of a thin sheet-like magnet or magnetic material is provided on the upper surface of the area of the bottom wall 10a that forms the bottom surface of the applicator housing 13. It should be noted that although the magnetic sheet 16 is hatched in Figures 1, 2, and 4, these do not represent a cross section. The magnetic material referred to here refers to a metal or metal oxide that has the ability to adhere to a magnet, such as iron.

As shown in Figures 1 and 3(b) and (c), the applicator 40 has a grip portion 41, an applicator portion 42, and a magnetic portion 43. When the applicator 40 is housed in the applicator housing 13, the grip portion 41 has a flat shape that is thin in the vertical direction and elongated in the front-to-rear direction. Hereinafter, the vertical direction at this time will be referred to as the thickness direction of the grip portion 41.

An applicator portion 42 is provided on each longitudinal end of the grip portion 41. In each figure, the applicator portion 42 is shown as a tip made of sponge or silicone, for example. However, the applicator portion 42 may also be configured in a brush-like shape. Furthermore, one applicator portion 42 and the other applicator portion 42 may have the same shape or different shapes. The applicator 40 can adopt an appropriate shape depending on the type of cosmetic 31a-31d and the area to which the cosmetic 31a-31d is to be applied.

In this embodiment, two applicators 40 are housed in the applicator housing 13, but the number and types of applicators 40 are not particularly limited, and the applicator housing 13 may house only one applicator 40, or three or more applicators 40. It may also house different types of applicators 40.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 3C, the magnetic portion 43 is configured in a substantially cylindrical shape and is embedded in the grip portion 41 at a substantially central position in the longitudinal direction thereof so as to penetrate the grip portion 41 in the thickness direction.
The magnetic portion 43 may be made of a material that can removably attach the applicator 40 to the bottom surface of the applicator accommodating portion 13 by magnetic force relative to the magnetic sheet 16, and may be a magnet or a magnetic substance.

Both the magnetic sheet 16 and the magnetic portion 43 may be composed of magnets. However, if both are composed of magnets, it is necessary to consider the orientation of the applicator 40 when storing it in the applicator storage portion 13. If either the magnetic sheet 16 or the magnetic portion 43 is a magnet and the other is a magnetic material, there are fewer restrictions on the orientation when storing the applicator 40, which is more preferable. In this embodiment, the magnetic portion 43 is embedded in the grip portion 41 so as to penetrate it in the thickness direction, but this is not limited to this. For example, rather than penetrating the grip portion 41 in the thickness direction, the magnetic portion 43 may be embedded inside the grip portion 41 so that its surface is not exposed on the surface of the grip portion 41. In this case, for example, if the magnetic portion 43 is an insert part, it can be easily embedded in the resin grip portion 41 by so-called insert molding. Furthermore, instead of embedding the magnetic portion 43 in the grip portion 41, a sheet-like magnetic portion 43 may be attached only to the surface (one or both sides) of the grip portion 41. The shape and size of the magnetic portion 43, as well as its position on the grip portion 41, can be changed as appropriate.

Next, the lid 20 will be described. As shown in Figures 1 to 3, the lid 20 has a generally rectangular top wall 20a and a lid-side peripheral wall 20b that surrounds the outer edge of the top wall 20a. The lid-side pivoting portion 21 is provided on the rear side of the lid 20, and the claw portion 22 is provided on the front side. A mirror 23 is provided on the inner surface of the top wall 20a of the lid 20.

When the lid 20 is closed (closed state) on the container body 10 (FIG. 3(a)), the claw 22 engages with the engagement portion 14 provided on the container body 10. When the engagement between the claw 22 and the engagement portion 14 is released and the front side of the lid 20 is pushed up, the lid 20 rotates around the lid-side rotation portion 21, opening the lid 20. The lid-side rotation portion 21 slides relative to the container-side rotation portion 11. The compact container 100 has a so-called free-stop function. That is, the lid 20 can be supported by the container body 10 while maintaining its position at any rotation angle between the closed state and the fully open state shown in FIG. 3(b).

Here, the wall portion of the lid-side peripheral wall 20b that is located on the right side of the top wall surface 20a is referred to as the lid-side right side wall 24 (side wall). As shown in Figures 3(a) to 3(c), the lid-side right side wall 24 is provided with a covering portion 24a that covers the opening 15a provided on the container body 10 side. As shown in Figure 3(a), when the lid 20 is in a closed position relative to the container body 10, the opening 15a is covered by the covering portion 24a. On the other hand, when the lid 20 is in an open position relative to the container body 10, as shown in Figures 3(b) and 3(c), the covering portion 24a is spaced apart from the opening 15a.

Next, with reference to Figures 3 and 4, a procedure for removing the applicator 40 from the compact case 100 will be described. Figure 4(a) is a view corresponding to Figures 1, 3(b) and 3(c).
First, when the lid body 20 is opened from the closed state shown in Fig. 3(a), the covering portion 24a moves away from the opening 15a, exposing the applicator 40 from the opening 15a, as shown in Fig. 3(b). Because the applicator 40 is attached to the applicator housing 13 by magnetic force, the applicator 40 can be prevented from jumping out of the applicator housing 13 when the lid body 20 is opened.

As shown in Figure 4(a), for example, place your thumb on the upper surface of the grip portion 41 of the applicator 40 housed on the right side of the applicator housing 13, place your fingers on the underside of the bottom wall 10a, and move the applicator 40 toward the right side wall 15 of the main body. Even at this time, the applicator 40 remains attached to the applicator housing 13 by magnetic force, allowing the applicator 40 to slide stably. When the magnetic portion 43 on the grip portion 41 is moved until it is positioned outside the magnetic sheet 16, the attractive force between the magnetic portion 43 and the magnetic sheet 16 is released, and the applicator 40 can be removed from the opening 15a.

While one applicator 40 is being removed, vibrations may be applied to the container body 10. In this case, the other applicator 40 housed on the left side of the applicator housing 13 may also be subjected to vibrations, which could cause the other applicator 40 to pop out of the applicator housing 13. However, in the compact container 100 of this embodiment, the other applicator 40 is also magnetically attached to the magnetic sheet 16 provided on the bottom surface of the applicator housing 13, so that one applicator 40 can easily remain housed in the applicator housing 13 even while the other applicator 40 is being removed.

After using the applicator 40, the applicator 40 may be stored in the applicator storage section 13 through the opening 15a, or it may be stored from the top side of the container body 10. For example, even if the other applicator 40 is already stored in the applicator storage section 13, the other applicator 40 is attached to the applicator storage section 13 by magnetic force, so that one applicator 40 can be easily stored in the applicator storage section 13 without the other applicator 40 jumping out of the applicator storage section 13.

With the compact case 100 configured as described above, an opening 15a for removing the applicator 40 is provided in the right side wall 15 of the main body, which defines the storage space of the applicator storage unit 13. This allows the applicator 40 to be easily removed from the compact case 100 by sliding the applicator 40 toward the opening 15a. This eliminates the need to provide space for inserting fingers into the top surface (opening surface) of the applicator storage unit 13 to grasp the applicator 40. This allows the applicator storage unit 13 to be more compact than conventional models, and the compact case 200 to be smaller.

Furthermore, in the compact container 100, a magnetic sheet 16 is provided on the bottom surface of the applicator housing 13, and a magnetic part 43 is provided on the applicator 40, allowing the applicator 40 to be detachably attached to the bottom surface of the applicator housing 13 by magnetic force, thereby achieving the various effects described above.

Furthermore, because the compact container 100 has the covering portion 24a, when the lid 20 is closed after all of the applicators 40 have been stored in the applicator storage portion 13, the opening 15a provided on the container body 10 can be covered by the covering portion 24a. This prevents the applicators 40 from unintentionally popping out of the opening 15a, and also prevents dirt and other foreign matter from entering the inside of the compact container 100 through the opening 15a when the lid 20 is closed.

Next, a modified example of compact case 100 of the first embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 5. Compact case 110 of the modified example shown in Fig. 5 has the same configuration as compact case 100 of the first embodiment, except that magnetic sheet 111 is provided on the top wall surface 20a of lid 20 in addition to the bottom surface of applicator housing portion 13. Therefore, the same terms and symbols as those in compact case 100 of the first embodiment are used for the similar configuration, and description thereof will be omitted.

In a modified example, when the lid 20 is closed relative to the container body 10, the magnetic sheet 111 is provided in an area between the inner surface of the top wall surface 20a of the lid 20 and the mirror 23, other than the area facing the applicator storage unit 13. In the illustrated example, the magnetic sheet 111 is provided over almost the entire area facing the cosmetic storage unit 12. Note that although the area where the magnetic sheet 111 is provided is hatched in Figure 5, this hatching does not indicate a cross section.

In this modified compact container 110, a magnetic sheet 111 is also provided on the top wall surface 20a of the lid 20. For example, if a partially used applicator 40 is placed on a sink or similar surface while touching up makeup on the go, moisture may adhere to the applicator portion 42, or cosmetics 31a-31d may adhere to the sink. However, with this compact container 110, as shown in FIG. 5, the applicator 40 can be magnetically attached to the magnetic sheet 111 via the mirror 23, allowing the partially used applicator 40 to be temporarily placed on the mirror 23. This eliminates the need to store the partially used applicator 40 in the applicator storage portion 13 each time, and prevents problems such as the applicator 40 falling, allowing for efficient touch-ups while on the go.

Furthermore, the compact container 110, like the compact container 100 of the first embodiment, is provided with a magnetic sheet 16 on the bottom surface of the applicator housing 13, and therefore can achieve the same effects as the compact container 100 of the first embodiment.

In the compact container 110 of the above modification, when the lid 20 is closed relative to the container body 10, the magnetic sheet 111 is not provided above the applicator housing 13, preventing the applicator 40 from magnetically adhering to the lid 20 when the lid 20 is closed. On the other hand, because the magnetic sheet 16 is provided on the bottom surface of the applicator housing 13, the applicator 40 adheres only to the bottom surface of the applicator housing 13 when the lid 20 is closed. This prevents the applicator 40 from moving toward the mirror 23 when the compact container 100 is carried, preventing the mirror 23 from becoming soiled with cosmetics 31a-31d adhering to the applicator housing 42.

[Second embodiment]
Next, a compact case 200 according to a second embodiment will be described with reference to Figures 6 and 7. In the second embodiment, the same components as those in the compact case 100 according to the first embodiment will be described using the same terms and symbols as those in the compact case 100 according to the first embodiment, and the description thereof will be omitted.

The compact case 200 of the second embodiment differs from the compact case 100 of the first embodiment in that the magnetic sheet 16 is not provided on the bottom surface of the applicator housing 13, and instead a magnetic sheet 201 is provided on the inner surface of the top wall 20a of the lid 20 in an area facing the applicator housing 13. This magnetic sheet 201 has approximately the same area as the inner surface of the top wall 20a of the lid 20. Note that although the magnetic sheet 201 is hatched in Figures 6 and 7(b), this hatching does not indicate a cross section.

As a result, when the applicator 40 is housed in the applicator housing 13 and the lid 20 is closed, the applicator 40 adheres to the inner surface of the top wall 20a of the lid 20, as shown in Figure 7(a). By attaching the applicator 40 to the inner surface of the top wall 20a of the lid 20, it is possible to prevent the applicator 40 from moving within the compact container 200 when the compact container 200 is carried around.

In the second embodiment of the compact case 200, unlike the first embodiment, the cover-side right side wall 202 does not have the covering portion 24a. Instead, an opening 202a is provided for sliding and removing the applicator 40. Also, unlike the first embodiment, the body-side right side wall 203 of the compact case 200 does not have the opening 15a. Instead, a covering portion 203a is provided that covers the opening 202a when the cover 20 is closed. Therefore, when the cover 20 is in the closed state (FIG. 7(a)), rotating the cover 20 opens the cover 20 while the applicator 40 remains attached to the inner surface of the top wall 20a of the cover 20. Then, by sliding the applicator 40, shown by the dotted line in FIG. 7(b), toward the opening 202a provided in the cover-side right side wall 202, the applicator 40 can be removed through the opening 202a. In the example shown in Figure 7(b), the applicator 40 can be picked up with the fingers and directly removed by appropriately adjusting the position of the applicator 40 attached to the top wall surface 20a of the lid 20 without sliding the applicator 40.

In this way, with the compact case 200 of the second embodiment, the applicator 40 can be removed without having to provide space for inserting fingers into the top surface (opening surface) of the applicator housing 13 to grasp the applicator 40. This means that the size of the applicator housing 13 can be designed without considering the space required for removing the applicator 40. As a result, the applicator housing 13 can be made more compact than conventional compact cases, and the compact case 200 can be made smaller.

In the compact case 200 of the second embodiment, a magnetic sheet 201 is provided over substantially the entire inner surface of the top wall surface 20a of the lid 20. As a result, as shown in FIG. 7(b), the applicator 40 can be detachably attached to any position within the area where the magnetic sheet 201 is provided. Therefore, as with the modified first embodiment, the applicator 40 can be temporarily placed in the middle of applying makeup, achieving the same effects as the modified first embodiment.

In Figures 6 and 7, a mirror 204 is provided on almost the entire inner surface of the top wall surface 20a of the lid body 20, and a magnetic sheet 201 is provided between the top wall surface 20a of the lid body 20 and the top wall surface 20a of the lid body 20. Since the applicator 40 is attached to the mirror 204, the thickness of the applicator portion 42 of the applicator 40 is thinner than the thickness of the grip portion 41. If the shape of the applicator 40 is such that the applicator portion 42 does not come into contact with the mirror 204 when the applicator 40 is attached to the mirror 204, it is possible to prevent the mirror 204 from being soiled with cosmetics 31a-31d attached to the applicator portion 42.

The compact case 200 of the second embodiment also has an opening 202a on the inner surface of the top wall 20a of the lid 20 for sliding and removing the applicator 40 that is magnetically attached. Furthermore, unlike the first embodiment, the compact case 200 does not have an opening 15a on the right side wall 203 of the main body. Instead, it has a covering portion 203a that covers the opening 202a when the lid 20 is in the closed position.

Furthermore, in the compact container 200 of the second embodiment, if a mirror 204 is provided on the inner surface of the top wall 20a of the lid 20, the magnetic sheet 201 may be provided only in the area facing the applicator storage unit 13 when the lid 20 is closed to the container body 10, and the mirror 204 may be provided in the area facing the cosmetic storage unit 12. In this case, the area in which the applicator 40 can be temporarily placed is limited to a size roughly the same as the top surface of the applicator storage unit 13. However, since one end of the applicator 40 can be protruded outside the lid right side wall 24 from the opening 202a, the applicator 40 can be temporarily placed on the inner surface of the top wall 20a of the lid 20 with its longitudinal direction aligned left-right, making temporary placement easier.

The compact cases 100, 110, and 200 of the first embodiment, modified example, and second embodiment described above are one aspect of the compact case according to the present invention, and the compact case according to the present invention can be modified as appropriate without departing from the spirit of the present invention. For example, the configuration of the case body 10, lid 20, and pivoting portion (case body pivoting portion 11, lid pivoting portion 21) can be modified as appropriate. For example, in the above-described compact cases 100, 110, and 200, the claw portion 22 and the engaging portion 14 are detachably engaged to maintain the lid 20 in a closed state relative to the case body 10 so that it can be opened and closed. However, for example, instead of the claw portion 22 and the engaging portion 14, the lid 20 may be configured to be maintained in a closed state relative to the case body 10 by magnetic force. For example, a magnet (or magnetic material) may be placed in the area corresponding to the claw portion 22, and another magnet (or magnetic material) may be placed in the area corresponding to the engagement portion 14, making it possible to change the position of the magnet (or magnetic material) on the claw portion 22 side or the engagement portion 14 side, or the direction in which the magnetic force acts. With this configuration, when the lid body 20 is closed relative to the container body 10, the two are attracted to each other by magnetic force, and when the lid body 20 is open relative to the container body 10, the magnetic force does not act between the two, or acts in a repulsive direction.
