Description

This disclosure relates to a toilet cabinet.

Conventionally, a cabinet has been known that has a storage section capable of storing items inside a toilet room where a toilet is placed (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

The storage area in the toilet room was small and had obstacles such as toilet fixtures, making it dark and difficult to see inside.

The present disclosure relates to a toilet cabinet that is placed inside a toilet room and includes a storage section for storing items, a door for opening and closing the opening of the storage section, and a light for illuminating the inside of the storage section.

The first embodiment of the present disclosure will now be described in detail with reference to the drawings. As shown in FIG. 1, the toilet room 100 is a substantially rectangular space, with its longitudinal direction aligned with the front-to-rear direction D1 connecting an entrance (not shown) at the front of the toilet room 100 to a rear wall 101 at the back that faces the entrance. In this specification, "front" refers to the entrance side, i.e., the side facing the rear wall 101, and "rear" refers to the rear wall 101 side. The vertical direction D3 is the top-to-bottom direction, and the width direction D2 refers to the horizontal direction connecting the left and right side walls 102 of the toilet room 100.

The toilet room 100 is composed of a rear wall 101 at the back, a pair of side walls 102 on one side and the other side of the rear wall 101 in the width direction D2, a front wall (not shown) with an entrance door, and a floor 103. A baseboard 105 is arranged along the floor 103 below the rear wall 101 and the side walls 102.

Inside the toilet room 100, a toilet cabinet 1 and a wall-mounted toilet 110 are arranged. The toilet 110 is located in front of the toilet cabinet 1 and has a toilet body 111, a toilet seat 112, a toilet lid 113, a tank 114, a drain pipe 115, and a frame 120 (see Figure 3).

The toilet body 111 is a concave container with an open top, and is installed in a floating position away from the floor surface 103. The toilet body 111 is formed with a drain outlet at the bottom for discharging waste and the like, and the drain outlet is connected to a sewer pipe on the rear side of the toilet body 111 via a drain trap (not shown).

The toilet seat 112 is located on the top surface of the toilet body 111 and is the component on which the user sits. The toilet lid 113 is a lid material that covers the top opening of the toilet body 111. The toilet seat 112 and toilet lid 113 are each rotatably connected by hinges located on the rear side of the toilet body 111, and are capable of being opened and closed.

The tank 114 is located behind the toilet body 111 and stores flush water inside. Water is supplied to the tank 114 from an external water source, and the flush water stored in the tank 114 is supplied to the toilet body 111 through the water supply pipe 114a.

The drain pipe 115 is connected to a drain outlet provided on the rear side of the toilet body 111. The drain pipe 115 is connected to a sewer pipe located inside and below the floor surface 103.

As shown in Figure 1, the frame portion 120 connects the rear end of the toilet body 111 to support the toilet body 111 in a cantilevered manner, and also supports the tank 114. As shown in Figure 2, the frame portion 120 has vertical bars 121, upper bars 122, lower bars 123, a tank support member 124, and a top plate support member 125. The frame portion 120 is placed inside the toilet cabinet 1, which will be described later.

A pair of vertical beams 121 are erected from the floor surface 103 at a predetermined distance apart in the width direction D2 of the toilet body 111. The upper beam 122 is positioned at the upper end of the pair of vertical beams 121, extending in the width direction D2. The lower beam 123 is positioned below the upper beam 122 and spaced apart, with one end connected to one vertical beam 121 and the other end connected to the other vertical beam 121. The tank support member 124 is a plate member attached between the pair of vertical beams 121, extending in the width direction D2, between the upper beam 122 and the lower beam 123. As shown in Figure 3, the tank support member 124 protrudes rearward from the back surface of the vertical beam 121. The tank 114 is attached on top of the tank support member 124.

The top plate support member 125 is a flat member connected to the upper surface of the upper rail 122. The top plate support member 125 is arranged so that its longitudinal direction is along the width direction D2 of the toilet room 100. The top plate support member 125 is longer than the length of the upper rail 122, and is attached so that it protrudes outward in the width direction of the toilet room 100 from both side ends of the upper rail 122. The top plate 7, described below, is arranged on the upper surface of the top plate support member 125.

The toilet cabinet 1 is placed inside the toilet room 100 and has a storage section 2, a light 3, a front panel 40, a door 4, a front panel 6, a translucent member 5, a top panel 7, and a privacy member 8.

The front panel 40 is a plate-shaped member arranged on the front of the toilet cabinet 1. The front panel 40 has a door 4 (described below) and a front panel 6. The front panel 40 is arranged to extend in the width direction D2 at a position forward and away from the rear wall 101.

The front panel 6 is positioned on the rear of the toilet bowl 110 and attached to the front of the frame portion 120. The front panel 6 is a roughly rectangular plate material and is positioned roughly parallel to the rear wall 101 between the toilet body 111 and the frame portion 120. The length of the front panel 6 in the width direction D2 is shorter than the distance between the pair of side walls 102 of the toilet room 100.

The top panel 7 is a so-called counter, a roughly rectangular board placed between the upper end of the front panel 6 and the rear wall 101. The top panel 7 is placed roughly horizontally, closing the space between the front panel 6 and the rear wall 101. The top panel 7 is hinged to a support member (not shown) attached to the rear wall 101, and is attached so that it can be opened and closed by rotating the rear end.

The storage section 2 is located inside the toilet cabinet 1 and is a space capable of storing items such as toilet paper and cleaning supplies. The storage section 2 is located on both outer sides in the width direction D2 of the frame section 120, which is located on the back of the front panel 6. The storage section 2 has a partition board 21 and a shelf 22 as a partition section. As shown in Figure 4, the partition board 21 is a board that extends from the back of the front panel 6 toward the rear wall 101 in the front-to-rear direction D1 of the toilet room 100 at both ends in the width direction D2 of the front panel 6. The partition board 21 is a board that separates the storage section 2 from the frame section 120 and tank 114. The shelf 22 is fixed to the partition board 21 and extends horizontally. The shelf 22 vertically divides the storage section 2 and allows items to be placed on it. The storage section 2 is surrounded by a partition plate 21, a rear wall 101, a side wall 102, a door 4 (described below), and a translucent member 5, and is formed with an opening 2a on the front side.

The light source 3 is located inside the storage section 2, closer to the opening 2a than the shelf 22, and illuminates the interior of the storage section 2. The light source 3 has an elongated shape that extends vertically (D3), from the upper end of the partition plate 21 to near the lower end. The light source 3 has a fixing part 31, a light source 32, and a cover 33. The fixing part 31 has a flat surface 31a that fits along the outer surface of the partition plate 21 and a protruding part 31b that protrudes outward from the partition plate 21 in the width direction D2. The flat surface 31a is fixed to the partition plate 21 with a screw. The light source 32 is fixed to the protruding part 31b and is positioned so that it emits light toward the side wall 102, which is a wall surface of the toilet room 100. The light source 32 is, for example, an LED bulb, and its light-emitting portion faces the side wall 102. The cover 33 covers the periphery of the light source 32 and engages with the fixing part 31.

The door 4 is a plate-shaped member that opens and closes the opening 2a of the storage section 2. The door 4 is connected adjacent to the front panel 6 and is positioned between both ends of the front panel 6 in the width direction D2 and the side wall 102. The door 4 has a thin, approximately rectangular parallelepiped shape, and its ends in the width direction D2 are connected to the outer ends of the front panel 6 in the width direction D2 via hinges so that it can be opened and closed. The door 4 has an opening and closing mechanism 41 that opens and closes the door 4. The opening and closing mechanism 41 is positioned on the back side of the door 4. The opening and closing mechanism 41 has a so-called push-latch structure and includes a latch body 42 and a receiving seat 43. The latch body 42 is fixed to the underside of the top panel support member 125 of the frame section 120, and the receiving seat 43 is attached to the upper part of the back of the door 4 in a position that allows it to abut against the front surface of the latch body 42. The user can open or close the door 4 by pressing the upper part of the front surface of the door 4. The opening and closing mechanism 41 is formed by, for example, a magnetic latch body 42 and a receiving seat 43 that are attracted to each other.

As shown in FIG. 4 , the concealing member 8 is positioned behind the connection 64 where the front panel 6 and door 4 are adjacently connected, and in front of the light 3. The concealing member 8 is a long member that is roughly L-shaped in a plan view. One side 81 of the L-shape of the concealing member 8 is fixed to the outer surface of the partition plate 21, and the other side 82 of the L-shape is positioned so that it straddles the connection 64 between the front panel 6 and door 4. The concealing member 8 is a member that conceals the light from the light 3 so that it does not leak through the gap at the connection 64 when the door 4 is open. As shown in FIG. 4 , the light 3 is not visible when viewed from the front with the door 4 in the open position. The light 3 is positioned in a position that allows it to be concealed when viewed from the front. Specifically, the light 3 is concealed by the concealing member 8, the end of the door 4 on the front panel 6 side, the hinges, etc.

The light-transmitting member 5 is provided on the door 4 of the front panel portion 40. Specifically, the light-transmitting member 5 is disposed between the door 4 and the side wall 102 of the toilet room 100. The light-transmitting member 5 is disposed on the outer edge side of the door 4, i.e., on the edge on the side wall 102 side, along the vertical direction D3. The light-transmitting member 5 is a long member having a thin plate-like shape. The light-transmitting member 5 is made of a light-diffusing member molded by mixing a diffusing material, which is a light-diffusing particle, with resin. The light-transmitting member 5 is, for example, milky white, and diffuses light emitted from the light 3. As shown in FIG. 5 , the light-transmitting member 5 has an inner end portion 5a, an outer end portion 5b, a main body portion 51, a soft portion 52, and an elongated hole 53.

The inner end 5a is the end closest to the door 4 when viewed from above when attached to the door 4. The outer end 5b is the end closest to the side wall 102 of the toilet room 100.

As shown in Figure 1, the main body 51 has a generally rectangular shape that is long in the vertical direction D3 when viewed from the front, and as shown in Figure 5, has a shape with one end in the short direction curved when viewed from above. The main body 51 extends from the door 4 side toward the side wall 102 side. The main body 51 is formed in a tapered shape, with the thickness of the curved portion becoming thinner as it moves closer to the side wall 102 than to the door 4 side.

The soft portion 52 is configured to have lower rigidity than the main body portion 51. The soft portion 52 is configured to have a rigidity that allows a worker to cut it with a blade such as a cutter. As shown in Figure 1, if a baseboard 105 is placed on the side wall 102 of the toilet room 100, it is possible to cut the soft portion 52 on-site and remove the portion that comes into contact with the baseboard 105.

The soft portion 52 is located on the outer end 5b side of the main body 51 and extends between the main body 51 and the side wall 102. The thickness of the soft portion 52 is thinner than the thickness of the main body 51. The soft portion 52 extends from the tip of the main body 51 on the outer end 5b side in a direction approximately parallel to the extension direction of the main body 51.

The elongated hole 53 is an oval through-hole formed in the main body 51, with its longitudinal direction aligned with the short side of the main body 51. The elongated hole 53 is a hole through which a screw is inserted to secure the translucent member 5 to the outer edge of the door 4. As shown in Figure 2, by changing the position at which the screw is fastened within the elongated hole 53, the distance between the translucent member 5 and the side wall 102 can be adjusted.

With the translucent member 5 fixed to the door 4, the door 4 and the translucent member 5 are positioned to close the opening 2a of the storage section 2. An opening/closing mechanism 41 is positioned closer to the door 4 than the boundary between the door 4 and the translucent member 5.

The light 3 is automatically turned on and off in conjunction with, for example, a motion sensor. When turned on, it emits light toward the side wall 102. At this time, the light 3 is located in front of the shelf 22 and is positioned closer to the door 4 than the opening/closing mechanism 41 and the boundary between the door 4 and the opening/closing mechanism 41. This prevents the shadows of the shelf 22, opening/closing mechanism 41, etc. from being cast in the light that leaks out of the toilet cabinet 1 from the translucent member 5. The translucent member 5 diffuses light as it passes through, so the light that illuminates the inside of the storage section 2 leaks out of the door 4.

The first embodiment provides the following effects. The toilet cabinet 1 is placed inside the toilet room 100 and includes a storage section 2 for storing items, a door 4 for opening and closing the opening 2a of the storage section 2, and a light 3 for illuminating the inside of the storage section 2. Because the light 3 illuminates the storage section 2, when the door 4 of the storage section 2 is opened, the items inside are easily visible, making it easier to check for dirt when cleaning.

According to the first embodiment, the storage section 2 includes a shelf 22 on which items can be placed, and the lighting 3 is positioned closer to the opening 2a than the shelf 22. Providing the shelf 22 increases the capacity for storing small items. By positioning the lighting 3 closer to the opening 2a, forward of the shelf 22, it is possible to prevent the shadows of items stored in the storage section 2, such as by placing them on the shelf 22, from being cast in the light leaking from the door 4. This improves the quality of the lighting 3.

In the first embodiment, the light is positioned to shine toward the side wall 102 of the toilet room 100. This allows the light to also illuminate the outside of the door 4 from the side wall 102 side. This makes it possible for the lighting 3 to have an effect inside the toilet room 100 outside the storage section 2.

According to the first embodiment, the device further includes a tank 114 for storing cleaning water and a partition plate 21 that separates the tank 114 from the storage section 2. The light 3 is fixed to the partition plate 21. This allows the entire storage section 2 to be illuminated from the boundary between the tank 114 and the storage section 2.

According to the first embodiment, the lighting 3 is positioned so that it can be concealed when viewed from the front when the door 4 is open. This means that the lighting 3 is not visible when the door 4 is open, allowing the storage section 2 to have a neat appearance. The lighting 3 can be positioned so that it does not interfere with storage.

According to the first embodiment, the toilet cabinet 1 further includes a front panel 6 that is located on the back of the toilet bowl 110 placed inside the toilet room 100 and adjacent to the door 4, to which the door 4 is connected so that it can be opened and closed; and a privacy member 8 that is located behind the connection 64 where the front panel 6 and door 4 are connected and in front of the light 3. Because the privacy member 8 is located behind the connection 64 where the front panel 6 and door 4 are connected, light leaking from the light 3 is blocked when the door 4 is opened or closed, reducing glare. The space between the front panel 6 and the door 4 is not externally designed to allow light to be emitted. By preventing light leakage with the privacy member 8, the seam between the front panel 6 and the door 4 becomes less noticeable, allowing the toilet cabinet 1's light 3 to have the intended appearance.

In this embodiment, the opening and closing mechanism 41 that opens and closes the door 4 is located on the back side of the door 4. This makes the light 3 invisible from the front, allowing for a clean design of the toilet cabinet 1's exterior. This prevents the shadow of the opening and closing mechanism 41 from being cast on light leaking from outside the area blocked by the door 4, for example, light leaking through the translucent member 5.

This disclosure is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and modifications, improvements, etc., within the scope of achieving the objectives of this disclosure, are included in this disclosure. Figures 6A to 6C show second to fourth embodiments in which the shape of the translucent member is different. As shown in Figure 6A, in the second embodiment, the thickness of the main body 51A of the translucent member 5A is constant from the inner end 5a to the outer end 5b. When attached to the door 4, the soft portion 52A is curved so that the outer end 5b is located further back than the end on the inner end 5a side, i.e., closer to the storage section 2. By curving the soft portion 52A, light leaking from the light 3 is more easily diffused softly.

As shown in Figure 6B, in the third embodiment, the translucent member 5B has a tapered shape in which the overall thickness of the main body portion 51B tapers from the inner end 5a toward the outer end 5b. The soft portion 52B is curved so that, when attached to the door 4, the outer end 5b is positioned closer to the storage section 2 than the end on the inner end 5a side. Since illuminance tends to drop between the main body portion 51B and the soft portion 52B, tapering the main body portion 51B maintains a constant illuminance while also making it easier for the soft portion 52B to softly diffuse the light.

As shown in Figure 6C, in the fourth embodiment, the translucent member 5C has a main body 51B whose overall thickness tapers from the inner end 5a toward the outer end 5b. The soft portion 52C extends in a substantially straight line from the inner end 5a toward the outer end 5b. The main body 51C and the soft portion 52C extend in a substantially straight line. Because the soft portion 52C extends in a substantially straight line, the translucent member 5C is easy to handle during transportation, etc.

In the above embodiment, an example was described in which the translucent member 5 was arranged on the door 4 of the front plate portion 40. However, the toilet cabinet 1 does not necessarily have to have a door 4. In this case, the translucent member 5 may be arranged on the front panel 6 of the front plate portion 40.

In the above embodiment, a translucent light diffusion plate has been described as an example of the light-transmitting member. The light-transmitting member may have at least one of the following properties: light diffusion, which diffuses light, and light transparency, which partially transmits light with low transmittance. The light-transmitting member may be, for example, a colored light-transmitting plate, or a light-transmitting plate with an irregular surface to make it light-diffusing. The material is not limited to resin; it may also be, for example, frosted glass.
