Description

The present invention relates to pants-type absorbent articles such as diapers.

Absorbent articles such as diapers come in various forms, such as tape-type and pants-type.
In pants-type absorbent articles, an absorbent body is placed between the ventral and dorsal sections to form the crotch section, and the outer coverings of the ventral and dorsal sections are joined at left and right waist joints at the widthwise ends to form the waistband and leg openings. To prevent leakage from the sides of the crotch section, a technique is known in which members on the sides of the absorbent body are raised to form leak-proof ribs (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2020-168221

Pants-type absorbent articles such as those described above are required to have a high level of fit in order to prevent leakage, etc. However, due to the structure of the human body, when a wearer sits or bends over, the lower part of the lower abdomen protrudes more than when standing upright, creating a depression near the base of the legs. In this case, a gap opens up between the pants-type absorbent article and the wearer's lower abdomen and around the legs, which, depending on the amount of excrement, could lead to leakage of excrement from the crotch opening.
In view of the above, the present invention provides a pants-type absorbent article that is excellent in preventing leakage of excreted liquid from the crotch opening.

A preferred embodiment of the pants-type absorbent article of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
In this specification, the side that contacts the wearer's skin is referred to as the skin side or inner side, and the opposite side is referred to as the non-skin side or outer side. These terms are also used to indicate the relative positional relationship in the component configuration of an absorbent article for components that do not have a surface that contacts the wearer's skin. Furthermore, the direction that is located in front of the wearer when worn is referred to as the front or front side, and the direction that is located in the back is referred to as the rear or rear side. The normal direction to the front or back surface of the absorbent article, i.e., the stacking direction of the components, is referred to as the thickness direction.

As shown in FIG. 1, the pants-type diaper 10 (hereinafter also referred to as diaper 10) of this embodiment comprises a ventral portion 10F arranged on the ventral side of the wearer, a crotch portion 10C arranged on the crotch side, and a dorsal portion 10R arranged on the dorsal side, and has a waist circumference direction X and a body length direction Y. The diaper 10 also comprises a waist opening 12 arranged above the ventral portion 10F and the dorsal portion 10R in the body length direction Y, and a pair of leg openings 13, 13 arranged on the left and right sides of the crotch portion 10C.

The diaper 10 comprises, as its constituent components, an absorbent main body 1 and an outer body 2 arranged on the non-skin-facing side of the absorbent main body 1. The outer body 2 has portions 21 and 22 arranged in the ventral portion 10F and the back portion 10R. The outer bodies 21 and 22 in the ventral portion 10F and the back portion 10R are joined at a pair of waist joints 11 and 11 at their ends in the waist circumference direction X. In other words, the portions of the outer body 1 sandwiched between the pair of left and right waist joints 11 and 11 constitute the outer bodies 21 and 22 in the ventral portion 10F and the back portion 10R. Joining at the waist joint 11 can be performed by various methods used for this type of article. Examples include pressure-integrated joining such as fusion joining (e.g., heat sealing, ultrasonic sealing, laser fusing) and pressure joining (e.g., embossing).

In the diaper 10 of this embodiment, the exterior body 2 is divided into a ventral exterior body 21 and a dorsal exterior body 22, which form the outer surfaces of the ventral portion 10F and the dorsal portion 10R, respectively. The exterior body 1 is not limited to this divided form and may have any form that is commonly used for this type of article. For example, the exterior body 1 may extend over the crotch portion 10F, the crotch portion 10C, and the dorsal portion 10R, and have a shape that is narrowed inward in the width direction at the crotch portion 10C.
Hereinafter, the outer covering bodies 21, 22 in the ventral portion 10F and the rear portion 10R of the diaper 10 will be described as the ventral outer covering body 21 and the rear outer covering body 22 in the divided form described above.

In the diaper 10 of this embodiment, a ring-shaped waist portion 10D consisting of a ventral outer body 21 and a dorsal outer body 22 is formed by joining at the waist joint 11. The absorbent main body 1 extending from the waist portion 10D forms the crotch portion 10C. Furthermore, a crotch side extension 8 extending from the dorsal outer body 22 is disposed closer to the crotch portion 10C than the position of the waist joint 11. The crotch side extension 8 covers a portion of the non-skin side of the absorbent main body 1 in the crotch portion 10C and forms part of the outer main body on the buttocks side of the crotch portion 10C.

2 shows the diaper 10 in an unfolded state with the diaper 10 cut at the waist seams 11, 11. The unfolded state refers to the state in which each part of the diaper 10 is stretched to spread the pants-type absorbent article flat. In the unfolded state, the waist-circumference direction X and the body-length direction Y are also referred to as the width direction X and the longitudinal direction Y.
In the unfolded state of the diaper 10, the ventral outer body 21 and the dorsal outer body 22 have a horizontally elongated shape in the waist-circumferential direction X. The absorbent main body 1 has a vertically elongated shape, extends along the body length direction Y at the center of the waist-circumferential direction X, and is disposed toward the ventral portion 10F, the crotch portion 10C, and the dorsal portion 10R of the diaper 10. The absorbent main body 1 has a liquid-permeable top sheet 14 on the skin side, a leakproof back sheet 15 on the non-skin side, and a liquid-retaining absorber 16 disposed between the top sheet 14 and the back sheet 15. The absorbent main body 1 further has a pair of side sheets 17 on both sides of the absorbent main body 1 in the longitudinal direction Y.
The absorbent main body 1 is bonded and fixed to at least the skin-facing sides of the ventral exterior body 21 and the back-side exterior body 22. The skin-facing sides of the ends of the absorbent main body 1 in the longitudinal direction Y are covered by the folded-back portions 23 of the ventral exterior body 21 and the back-side exterior body 22, which are arranged on the non-skin-facing side. These bonding and fixing can be achieved by various means commonly used in this type of article. For example, bonding and fixing can be achieved by applying various adhesives such as hot-melt type adhesives (the same applies to bonding and fixing described below).

The ventral exterior body 21, which forms the outer surface main body of the ventral portion 10F, has a laminated structure including an outer layer sheet 61 and an inner layer sheet 62, with a waist elastic (hereinafter simply referred to as an elastic) 7 disposed between these sheets. Similarly, the back exterior body 22, which forms the outer surface main body of the back portion 10R, has a laminated structure including an outer layer sheet 63 and an inner layer sheet 64, with a waist elastic 7 disposed between these sheets. The waist elastic 7 is joined in a stretched state along the waist circumference direction X and is arranged to be stretchable along the waist circumference direction. Multiple such waist elastics 7 are arranged at intervals along the body length direction Y. More specifically, the elastics 7 arranged on the ventral exterior body 21 and the back exterior body 22 extend in the waist circumference direction X with both ends joined and fixed to the left and right waist joints 11, 11, and are sandwiched and fixed between the outer layer sheet 61 and the inner layer sheet 62 and between the outer layer sheet 63 and the inner layer sheet 64. In the region 10G where the ventral exterior body 21 and the absorbent main body 1 overlap, and in the region 10H where the back exterior body 22 and the absorbent main body 1 overlap, the elastic body 7 is partially separated in the laminated portion between the ventral exterior body 21 and the absorbent body 16 and in the laminated portion between the back exterior body 22 and the absorbent body 16. The ends of each separated elastic body 7 are joined at the ventral exterior body 21 at a position overlapping the absorbent main body 1 and at the back exterior body 22 at a position overlapping the absorbent main body 1, and are made stretchable between the other end joined to the waist joint 11.
The joining and fixing position of the elastic body 7 on the inner side in the waist circumference direction X (the position overlapping with the absorbent main body 1) is not particularly limited, but it is preferable to vary it depending on the below-described abdominal upper wide joining region 51, abdominal central narrow joining region 52, and abdominal lower wide joining region 53. For example, it is preferable that the joining and fixing positions of the elastic body 7 on the inner side in the waist circumference direction X be positions overlapping with the abdominal upper wide joining region 51 and abdominal lower wide joining region 53, respectively, and be positions to the left and right of the abdominal central narrow joining region 52 in the waist circumference direction X. It is also preferable that the joining and fixing positions of the elastic body 7 on the back-side exterior body 22 be similar to those described above.

The elastic body 7 and the absorbent body 16 do not need to overlap, but it is preferable that they overlap partially. The elastic body 7 causes the end of the absorbent body 16 to partially contract, making it easier for the absorbent body 16 to conform to the curvature of the body. The overlap width between the elastic body 7 and the absorbent body 16 is preferably 10% to 50% of the absorbent body width, and more preferably 20% to 40% of the absorbent body width.

Next, the ventral-side outer body 21 and the absorbent main body 1 in the ventral-side portion 10F will be further described.
In a plan view of the ventral exterior body 21, the region 10G where the ventral exterior body 21 and the absorbent main body 1 overlap has a ventral bonded region 5 where the ventral exterior body 21 and the absorbent main body 1 are bonded and fixed, and a ventral non-bonded region 41 where the ventral exterior body 21 and the absorbent main body 1 are not bonded and fixed. The ventral bonded region 5 is a part where the inner layer sheet 62 of the ventral exterior body 21 and the back surface sheet 15 of the absorbent main body 1 are bonded and fixed in the thickness direction, thereby integrating the ventral exterior body 21 and the absorbent main body 1.

The ventral joining region 5 includes three regions with different lengths in the waist circumference direction X. Specifically, the ventral joining region 5 includes a ventral central narrow joining region 52, and an upper ventral wide joining region 51 and a lower ventral wide joining region 53, which are located above and below the ventral central narrow joining region 52 in the body length direction Y and have a wider width in the waist circumference direction X than the ventral central narrow joining region 52. These joining regions are adjacent to each other and can be distinguished based on the difference in width in the waist circumference direction X.

The abdominal non-bonded region 41 is located to the left and right of the abdominal central narrow bonded region 52 in the waist circumference direction X.

The overlapping region 10G of the diaper 10 between the abdominal outer body 21 and the absorbent main body 1 corresponds to the region covering the area from below the wearer's navel to above the excretion point (crotch) in the body length direction Y. Within this region, the abdominal upper wide bonding region 51 is positioned opposite the area below the wearer's navel. The abdominal central narrow bonding region 52 is positioned opposite the area extending from the lower side of the wearer's lower abdomen (below the level of the ilium) to the extension of the groin. The abdominal lower wide bonding region 53 is positioned opposite the area around the wearer's thighs.

It is preferable that the length H2 of the ventral central narrow joint area 52 in the body length direction Y is longer than the lengths H1 and H3 of the ventral upper wide joint area 51 and the ventral lower wide joint area 53 in the body length direction Y, respectively.
In the above relationship, the ratio (H2/(H1+H3)) of the length H2 of the ventral central narrow bonding region 52 in the length direction Y to the sum of the lengths H1 and H3 of the ventral upper wide bonding region 51 and the ventral lower wide bonding region 53 in the length direction Y is preferably 0.6 or more, more preferably 0.8 or more, and even more preferably 1 or more, from the viewpoint of making it easier for the absorbent body 16 or the absorbent main body 1 to stand up against the skin. Moreover, from the viewpoint of maintaining the adhesion between the absorbent main body 1 and the ventral outer body 21, the ratio (H2/(H1+H3)) is preferably 3 or less, more preferably 2.5 or less, and even more preferably 2 or less.

In the region 10G where the ventral outer body 21 and the absorbent main body 1 overlap, the upper ventral wide joint region 51 is preferably in the range of 0% to 60% and more preferably in the range of 30% to 50%, where the end on the waist opening 12 side in the body length direction Y is 0% and the end on the crotch side is 100%.
In the region 10G where the ventral outer body 21 and the absorbent main body 1 overlap, the central wide joint region 52 is preferably in the range of 30% to 90% and more preferably in the range of 40% to 80%, where the end on the waist opening 12 side in the body length direction Y is 0% and the end on the crotch side is 100%.
In the region 10G where the ventral outer body 21 and the absorbent main body 1 overlap, the lower ventral wide joint region 53 is preferably in the range of 60% to 100%, and more preferably in the range of 75% to 95%, when the end on the waist opening 12 side in the body length direction Y is 0% and the end on the crotch side is 100%.

The width W2 of the abdominal central narrow bonded region 52 in the waist circumference direction X is smaller than the widths W1 and W3 of the abdominal upper wide bonded region 51 and the abdominal lower wide bonded region 53. As a result, in the abdominal non-bonded region 41 outside the abdominal central narrow bonded region 52 in the waist circumference direction X, the absorbent main body 1 can have a bent portion 1K that extends toward the skin along the body length direction Y ( FIG. 4 ).
For example, when a wearer (e.g., an infant) sits and bends their legs, the abdominal upper wide bonded region 51 and the abdominal lower wide bonded region 53 are drawn closer to each other at the abdominal non-bonded region 41 as the lower part of the abdomen approaches the legs (e.g., arrow F1 in FIG. 4 ). This causes the absorbent main body 1, which is not bonded to the abdominal outer body 21, to bend convexly toward the skin, forming the bent portion 1K (e.g., changing from the state shown in FIG. 3 to the state shown in FIG. 4 ). In response to this bending, the abdominal upper wide bonded region 51 and the abdominal lower wide bonded region 53 suppress deformation at positions sandwiching the bent portion 1K and firmly abut against the skin, thereby stably realizing the bend. This allows the absorbent main body 1 in the abdominal non-bonded region 41 to fit around the base of the legs in the area from the lower part of the wearer's lower abdomen (below the level of the ilium) to the groin.

From the above viewpoints, the width W2 of the ventral central narrow bonding region 52 is preferably 90% or less, more preferably 60% or less, and even more preferably 50% or less of the width W1 of the ventral upper wide bonding region 51 and the width W3 of the ventral lower wide bonding region 53. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of improving adhesion between the ventral outer body 21 and the absorbent main body 1, the width W2 is preferably 10% or more of each of the widths W1 and W3, more preferably 15% or more, and even more preferably 20% or more.

The widths W1 and W3 in the waist circumference direction X of the abdominal upper wide joining region 51 and the abdominal lower wide joining region 53 may be the same or different. From the viewpoint of making it easier to bend the absorber 16 or the absorbent main body 1 and to make it easier to stand up the sides of the absorber, it is preferable that they are the same.
The widths W1 and W3 of the abdominal upper wide joining region 51 and the abdominal lower wide joining region 53 in the waist circumference direction X may be the same as or shorter than the width of the absorbent main body 1 in the waist circumference direction X. From the viewpoint of making it easier to expand the waist circumference, it is preferable that they are shorter than the absorbent body width.

The ventral-side central narrow joint region 52 is preferably located at the center of the ventral-side outer body 21 in the waist circumference direction X.
The width W2 of the ventral central narrow bonding region 52 in the waist circumference direction X is preferably 30% or less, more preferably 25% or less, and even more preferably 20% or less of the width W4 of the ventral outer body 21 in the waist circumference direction X, from the viewpoint of preventing folding of the absorbent main body 1 in the area below the navel, where bending of the wearer's body is unlikely to occur. Furthermore, the width W2 is preferably 10% or more, more preferably 15% or more, from the viewpoint of improving adhesion between the ventral outer body 21 and the absorbent main body 1. This configuration allows the outer regions in the width direction of the ventral central narrow bonding region 52 to bend in a manner that sufficiently corresponds to the curve that occurs in the lower abdomen when the wearer sits down, etc., and the length of the linear depression that occurs from the hip joints toward the center of the front of the body (mainly the depression along the groin).

The range of each of the above-mentioned bonded regions can be measured as follows.
First, the pants-type absorbent article to be measured is broken at the waist joint 11 and unfolded, and is stretched sufficiently to prevent breakage. A printing toner is applied to the non-skin-facing side of the pants-type absorbent article, and is allowed to adhere to the adhesive applied to the pants-type absorbent article. After removing the unadsorbed toner, the outline of the joint that is revealed by the toner is read with a scanner, and the dimensions in the waist circumference direction X and the body length direction Y are calculated using area calculation software. For example, Image-pro 10 (product name) manufactured by Media Cybernetics can be used as the area calculation software.

Furthermore, in the diaper 10, the absorbent main body 1 has side edge elastics 18 on both sides in the body length direction Y. The side edge elastics 18 are joined in a stretched state along the body length direction Y and are arranged to be stretchable along the body length direction Y. The side edge elastics 18 extend to the abdominal non-joined region 41. More specifically, both ends of the side edge elastics 18 are joined and fixed to other components of the absorbent main body 1 at joining and fixing portions 181 in the abdominal side portion 10F and the back side portion 10R. Between these ends, the side edge elastics 18 are stretchable. The contractile force of the side edge elastics 18 along the body length direction Y lifts both left and right side portions 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1 in the body length direction Y and curves them inward in the waist circumference direction X. As a result, both side portions 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1 rise toward the wearer's skin, enveloping the wearer's skin.

As described above, the side edge elastics 18, which act in this manner, extend in the abdominal portion 10F to the abdominal-side non-bonded region 41 with the abdominal-side outer body 21. This allows the contractile force of the absorbent main body 1 along the length direction Y to extend to the portion of the absorbent main body 1 in the abdominal-side non-bonded region 41 that is not bonded to the abdominal-side outer body 21. Therefore, when the diaper 10 is worn, in the abdominal-side non-bonded region 41, the side portions 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1 can rise from the joint-fixing portion 181. Furthermore, the rise of the side portions 1A at the joint-fixing portion 181 is likely to occur more significantly due to the fact that it is linked to the rise of the side portions 1A, 1A that occurs mainly in the crotch portion 10C.
The effect of the side edge elastics 18 is enhanced by the rise of the abdominal-side non-bonded region 41 from the bent portion 1K of the absorbent main body 1 toward the skin. As a result, the side portions 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1, extending from the crotch portion 10C to the abdominal portion 10F, where the side edge elastics 18 are located, abut against the wearer's skin like an outer wall of the bent portion 1K (e.g., arrow F2 shown in FIG. 5 ). In this way, the absorbent main body 1 envelops the wearer's lower abdomen, groin, and crotch area. The effect of the side edge elastics 18 also enhances the fit of the bent portion 1K near the base of the wearer's legs. The synergistic effect of the side edge elastics 18 and the abdominal-side non-bonded region 41 enhances the diaper 10's ability to prevent leakage from the crotch area.

As long as the side edge elastics 18 extend into the abdominal-side non-bonded region 41, they may extend over a portion of the entire length H2 in the body length direction Y of the abdominal-side non-bonded region 41, or they may extend over the entire length H2. From the viewpoint of ensuring the above-mentioned effect, it is preferable that the side edge elastics 18 extend over the entire length H2 of the abdominal-side non-bonded region 41 in the body length direction Y.
Furthermore, it is preferable that the abdominal side non-bonded region 41 includes a portion that is not fixed to the bonded fixing portion 181 of the side edge elastic body 18 .

It is preferable that the absorbent body 16 is included in both side portions 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1 that stand up due to the action of the side edge elastic bodies 18.
From the above viewpoint, it is preferable that the absorbent body 16 has a high basis weight section 161 and a low basis weight section 162 having a different basis weight, and that the low basis weight section 162 and the side edge elastics 18 are arranged adjacent to each other in the waist circumference direction, as shown in Figure 6. This makes it easy for the absorbent main body 1 to bend around the low basis weight section 162 and rise up toward the skin side. Note that in Figure 6, some other components are omitted to facilitate understanding of the relative positions of the high basis weight section 161, low basis weight section 162, and side edge elastics 18.
In order to position the low basis weight portion 162 adjacent to the side edge elastics 18, the high basis weight portion 161 and the low basis weight portion 162, which have different basis weights, are preferably arranged as follows: That is, as shown in Figure 6, the high basis weight portion 161 preferably extends along the body length direction Y at the center of the width in the waist circumference direction X of the absorbent body 16, and the low basis weight portions 162 preferably extend in the body length direction Y on both sides of the high basis weight portion 161.
Furthermore, the widths of the high basis weight portion 161 and the low basis weight portion 162 in the waist-circumference direction X may or may not be uniform along the body-length direction Y. From the viewpoint of simultaneously enhancing leakproofness due to the rising of the side portions 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1 toward the skin side and the excrement absorbency of the absorber 16, it is preferable that the widths in the waist-circumference direction X are not uniform, as shown in Fig. 6. That is, it is preferable that the width of the high basis weight portion 161 in the waist-circumference direction X in the abdominal side portion 10F is wider than that in the crotch portion 10C to enhance absorbency. Correspondingly, the width of the low basis weight portion 162 in the waist-circumference direction X is narrower in the abdominal side portion 10F than in the crotch portion 10C.

From the perspective of improving leakproofness due to the rising of both side portions 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1, the ratio (W62/W61) of the width W62 in the waist circumference direction X of each of the pair of left and right low basis weight portions 162 in the ventral non-bonded region 41 to the width W61 in the waist circumference direction X of the high basis weight portion 161 is preferably 5% or more, more preferably 10% or more, and even more preferably 20% or more. Furthermore, from the perspective of improving the absorbency of the absorbent body 16, the ratio (W62/W61) in the ventral non-bonded region 41 is preferably 50% or less, more preferably 40% or less, and even more preferably 30% or less.

The high basis weight section 161 and low basis weight section 162 of the absorbent body 16 may be formed as single layers with different layer thicknesses, or may be formed by varying the number of layers stacked. The example shown in Figures 2 and 6 has a stacked structure of an upper absorbent section 16A and a lower absorbent section 16B, with the stacked upper and lower two layers forming the high basis weight section 161, and the single layer section consisting of only the lower absorbent section 16B forming the low basis weight section 162, which has a basis weight lower than that of the high basis weight section 161.

From the viewpoint of improving leak prevention, the basis weight of the absorbent material in the high basis weight portion 161 is preferably at least 1.1 times, more preferably at least 1.5 times, and even more preferably at least 2.0 times the basis weight of the absorbent material in the low basis weight portion 162. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of improving the flexibility of the absorber 16 or absorbent main body 1, the basis weight of the absorbent material in the high basis weight portion 161 is preferably no more than 5.0 times, more preferably no more than 4.0 times, and even more preferably no more than 3.5 times the basis weight of the absorbent material in the low basis weight portion 162.

Furthermore, from the viewpoint of including the absorbent body 16 in the rising side portions 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1, it is preferable that the absorbent body 16 has a pair of rising base portions 19, 19 arranged along the body length direction Y when the rising side portions 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1 are caused to rise by contraction of the side edge elastics 18, as shown in Fig. 6. It is preferable that the rising base portion 19 extends to the ventral side non-bonded region 41. This rising base portion 19 functions as a so-called folding line when the rising side portions 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1 are caused to rise toward the skin side.
Like the side edge elastics 18, the upright base portions 19 may extend over a portion of the entire length H2 of the abdominal non-bonded region 41 in the body length direction Y, or may extend over the entire length H2. From the viewpoint of ensuring the above-mentioned effect, it is preferable that the side edge elastics 18 extend over the entire length H2 of the abdominal non-bonded region 41 in the body length direction Y.

The upstanding base portion 19 can have various structures in the absorbent body 1 that allow the absorbent body 1 to stand up.
Among these, the upstanding base portion 19 preferably includes a slit portion formed in the absorbent body 16. The upstanding base portion 19 also preferably includes a boundary portion between the high basis weight portion 161 and the low basis weight portion 162 of the absorbent body 16. At these locations, the absorbent body 16 is easily bent, allowing the side portions 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1 to rise smoothly. In FIG. 6 , the upstanding base portion 19 is shown as including a boundary portion extending in the body length direction Y between the high basis weight portion 161 and the low basis weight portion 162. Here, the slit portion refers to a groove portion formed in the absorbent body 16, and refers to a region where the basis weight of the absorbent material forming the absorbent body 16 is close to zero. In other words, the basis weight at the slit portion is smaller than the basis weight at the low basis weight portion 162 .

The distance W5 in the waist circumference direction X between the pair of left and right upstanding base portions 19, 19 in the abdominal non-bonded region 41 is preferably greater than the width W2 in the waist circumference direction X of the abdominal central narrow bonded region 52. This allows the rise width of both side portions 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1 and the width of the bent portion 1K to be greater in the abdominal non-bonded region 41, thereby further improving the leakproofness of the diaper 10. Note that if the upstanding base portions 19 have a width in the waist circumference direction, the distance W5 is the distance between the inner side edges of the upstanding base portions 19 in the waist circumference direction X. Furthermore, if the upstanding base portions 19 are not linear along the body length direction Y, the width W5 between the upstanding base portions 19 and the abdominal central narrow bonded region 52 at the position where the distance between the left and right upstanding base portions 19 is narrowest is defined as W5, and this W5 satisfies the above relationship.

From the viewpoint of improving the fit of the crotch portion 10C, the distance W5 between the standing base portions 19, 19 is preferably at least 1.1 times the width W2 of the abdominal central narrow joint region in the waist circumference direction X, more preferably at least 1.2 times, and even more preferably at least 1.3 times. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of improving the leakproofness of the sides of the absorbent core, the distance W5 is preferably no more than 2 times W2, more preferably no more than 1.8 times, and even more preferably no more than 1.6 times.

The side edge elastics 18 can take on various configurations to lift both side edges 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1 in the length direction Y. For example, the side edge elastics 18 may be elastics that form leg gathers that allow the absorbent main body 1 to fit around the wearer's legs, or elastics that form three-dimensional gathers further inward that come into contact with the wearer's skin. The side edge elastics 18 may also be elastics that directly lift the absorbent core 1 inside the absorbent main body 1.

In the examples shown in Figures 2 and 6, the side edge elastics 18 represent elastics that form leg gathers. The side edge elastics 18 are sandwiched between the side sheets 17 and backsheet 15, and are arranged in a stretched state in the longitudinal direction Y at that position. At both ends of the side edge elastics 18 in the body length direction Y, there are fixed joints 181 that connect to other components of the absorbent main body 1, and these ends serve as base points for expansion and contraction.

When the side edge elastics 18 are elastics that form three-dimensional gathers, the side edge elastics 18 are sandwiched between the folded-back portions of the side sheets 17 on the inner side in the waist direction X and are joined and fixed in the same manner as leg gathers.

When the side edge elastics 18 are elastics that directly raise the absorbent body 1 inside the absorbent main body 1, they can have a configuration such as that shown in Fig. 7. The cross-sectional view shown in Fig. 7 is a cross-sectional view taken along the waist-circumference direction X at the center of the absorbent main body 1 in the body length direction Y.
As shown in Figure 7, the absorbent main body 1 has a topsheet 14 on the skin-facing side of the absorber 16 and a backsheet 15 on the non-skin-facing side of the absorber, as described above. The topsheet 14 extends in the waist-circumferential direction X from the skin-facing side of the absorber 16 to the side edges and non-skin-facing side. A fastening portion 151 where the topsheet 14 and backsheet 15 are joined is located on the non-skin-facing side of the upstanding base portion 19 of the absorber 16. This forms a bag-shaped portion 14A of the topsheet 14 that encases the absorber 16 from the side edges to the upstanding base portion 19. In addition, side edge elastics 18 are located on the side edges of the absorber 16 and are contained in the bag-shaped portion 14A of the topsheet 14. This configuration allows the absorber 16 to stand up directly, further improving the leakproofness of the diaper 10.
In this case, the standing base portion 19 may be a slit extending in the length direction Y in the absorbent body 16, or may be a boundary portion between the high basis weight portion 161 and the low basis weight portion 162. In the example shown in Figure 7, the standing base portion 19 is a slit formed in the absorbent body and extending in the length direction Y, and in this cross section, the absorbent body 16 is divided into a central absorbent portion 16M and side absorbent portions 16N, 16N located on the left and right of the central absorbent portion 16M.

7, the width W2 of the abdominal central narrow bonding region 52 in the waist circumference direction X is preferably equal to or narrower than the distance W6 between the fixed parts 151, 151 in the waist circumference direction X. In this way, the rising of the side parts 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1 is not hindered by the abdominal central narrow bonding region 52, and the aforementioned leakproofness of the diaper 10 is more reliably improved. Here, when the fixed parts 151 have a width in the waist circumference direction X, the distance between the inner edges of the fixed parts 151 in the waist circumference direction X is defined as W6.
The width W2 of the ventral central narrow bonding region 52 in the waist circumference direction X is preferably 60% or more, more preferably 70% or more, and even more preferably 75% or more of the distance W6 between the fixing parts 151, from the viewpoint of improving the adhesion between the ventral outer body 21 and the absorbent main body 1. Furthermore, the width W2 of the ventral central narrow bonding region 52 in the waist circumference direction X is preferably 100% or less, more preferably 90% or less, and even more preferably 85% or less of the distance W6 between the fixing parts 151, from the viewpoint of improving the rise of the absorbent body 16 or the absorbent main body 1.

Furthermore, it is preferable that a high basis weight portion 161 of the absorbent body 16 is arranged in the absorbent main body 1 at a position overlapping with the abdominal side central narrow bonded region 52. By overlapping the abdominal side central narrow bonded region 52 with the high basis weight portion 161, the abdominal side central narrow bonded region 52 is less likely to bend, improving the fit to the body. At the same time, in the abdominal side non-bonded region 41 adjacent thereto, the rising of the side portions 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1 and the curvature in the waist-circumference direction X, as well as the bending of the bent portion 1K of the absorbent main body 1 along the body-length direction Y can be more clearly produced.

The average basis weight of the absorbent 16 arranged in a position overlapping the abdominal-side non-bonded region 41 is preferably lower than the average basis weight of the absorbent 16 arranged in a position overlapping the abdominal-side central narrow bonded region 52. Typically, the absorbent 16 arranged in a position overlapping the abdominal-side central narrow bonded region 52 is preferably configured with a high basis weight portion 161, and the absorbent 16 arranged in a position overlapping the abdominal-side non-bonded region 41 preferably includes a low basis weight portion 162. This makes the abdominal-side non-bonded region 41 more likely to rise and curve inward, further improving the leakproofness of the diaper 10.
From the viewpoint of improving leakage prevention, the average basis weight of the absorber 16 arranged in a position overlapping with the ventral non-bonded region 41 is preferably 10% or more, more preferably 20% or more, and even more preferably 30% or more of the average basis weight of the absorber 16 arranged in a position overlapping with the ventral central narrow bonded region 52. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of improving the ease of bending of the absorber 16 or the absorbent main body 1, the average basis weight of the absorber 16 arranged in a position overlapping with the ventral non-bonded region 41 is preferably 95% or less, more preferably 90% or less, and even more preferably 85% or less of the average basis weight of the absorber 16 arranged in a position overlapping with the ventral central narrow bonded region 52.

(Method for measuring average basis weight)
The absorbent body is cut out from the position overlapping the ventral central narrow bonded region 52 and the ventral non-bonded region 41 to a size of 3 cm length x 3 cm width. The mass of each piece is measured, and the average basis weight is calculated by dividing the mass by the area. The average basis weight of each piece is calculated by averaging five measurements.

Next, we will explain the rear outer body 22 and absorbent main body 1 in the rear portion 10R of the diaper 10.

Similar to the ventral exterior body 21, the rear exterior body 22 has, in the overlapping region 10H between the rear exterior body 22 and the absorbent main body 1, a rear bonded region 3 where the rear exterior body 22 and the absorbent main body 1 are bonded and fixed, and a rear non-bonded region 42 where the rear exterior body 22 and the absorbent main body 1 are not bonded and fixed. The rear bonded region 3 is the part where the inner layer sheet 64 of the rear exterior body 22 and the back sheet 15 of the absorbent main body 1 are bonded and fixed in the thickness direction, integrating the rear exterior body 22 and the absorbent main body 1.

The back-side joining region 3, which connects the back-side outer body 22 and the absorbent main body 1, preferably includes three regions with different lengths in the waist circumference direction X, as shown in Figure 2. Specifically, the back-side joining region 3 includes a back-side central narrow joining region 32 and a back-side ventral upper wide joining region 31 and a back-side lower wide joining region 33, which are located above and below the back-side central narrow joining region 32 in the body length direction Y and have wider widths in the waist circumference direction X than the back-side central narrow joining region 32. These joining regions are adjacent to each other and can be distinguished based on the difference in width in the waist circumference direction X. In the example shown in Figure 2, the back-side central narrow joining region 32 has a stepped or T-shaped planar shape with two levels of width in the waist circumference direction X. This allows the back portion 10R to fit according to the body shape from the buttocks to the waist and from the waist to the abdomen.

The back non-bonded region 42 is located to the left and right of the back central narrow bonded region 32 in the waist circumference direction X.

The overlapping region 10H of the diaper 10 between the back outer body 22 and the absorbent main body 1 corresponds to the region covering the skin surface from the level of the lumbar vertebrae on the wearer's back to the upper vicinity of the level of the coccyx in the body length direction Y. Within this region, the back upper wide bonding region 31 is positioned opposite the lumbar vertebrae on the wearer's back. The back central narrow bonding region 32 is positioned opposite the lower end of the lumbar vertebrae to the upper part of the buttocks (the level of the sacrum). The back lower wide bonding region 33 is positioned opposite the upper vicinity of the level of the wearer's coccyx.
As a result, in situations where the absorber 16 is pushed up, for example, when the wearer is held or sitting, the force of the absorber 16 being pushed up can be used to bend the absorber 16 or the absorbent main body 1, making the absorber 16 a leak barrier against feces. In addition, the bend in the absorber 16 or the absorbent main body 1 causes the sides of the absorber to rise, preventing feces from leaking from the crotch.

It is preferable that the length H6 of the back central narrow joining region 32 in the body length direction Y is longer than the lengths H5 and H7 of the back upper wide joining region 31 and the back lower wide joining region 33 in the body length direction Y, respectively.
In the above relationship, the ratio (H6/(H5+H7)) of the length H6 in the body length direction Y of the back-side central narrow bonding region 32 to the sum of the lengths H5 and H7 in the body length direction Y of the back-side upper wide bonding region 31 and the back-side lower wide bonding region 33 is preferably 0.6 or more, more preferably 0.8 or more, and even more preferably 1 or more, from the viewpoint of making it easier for the absorber 16 or absorbent main body 1 to become leak-proof when bent during carrying or when carrying a baby. Moreover, the ratio (H6/(H5+H7)) is preferably 4 or less, more preferably 3.5 or less, and even more preferably 3 or less, from the viewpoint of improving the adhesion between the absorbent main body 1 and the back-side outer body 22.

In the region 10H where the back outer body 22 and the absorbent body 1 overlap, the upper back wide joint region 31 is preferably in the range of 0% to 50% and more preferably in the range of 20% to 40% when the end on the waist opening 12 side in the body length direction Y is 0% and the end on the crotch side is 100%.
In the region 10H where the back outer body 22 and the absorbent body 1 overlap, the back central wide joint region 32 is preferably in the range of 20% to 90% and more preferably in the range of 30% to 85%, where the end on the waist opening 12 side in the body length direction Y is 0% and the end on the crotch side is 100%.
In the region 10H where the back outer body 22 and the absorbent body 1 overlap, the lower back wide joint region 33 is preferably in the range of 70% to 100%, and more preferably in the range of 80% to 95%, when the end on the waist opening 12 side in the body length direction Y is 0% and the end on the crotch side is 100%.

The width W8 of the back-side central narrow bonded region 32 in the waist circumference direction X is smaller than the widths W7 and W9 of the back-side upper wide bonded region 31 and the back-side lower wide bonded region 33. As a result, similar to the abdominal portion 10F, in the back-side non-bonded region 42 outside the back-side central narrow bonded region 32 in the waist circumference direction X, the absorbent main body 1 forms a bent portion that extends toward the skin surface along the body length direction Y.
In addition, as in the abdominal portion 10F, the side edge elastics extend to the back non-bonded region 42. As a result, in the back non-bonded region 42, the same action as in the abdominal non-bonded region 41 occurs, and the bent portion, which deforms along the body length direction Y, bends and deforms inward in the waist circumference direction X. In this way, also in the back portion 10R, the absorbent main body 1 envelops the wearer's area from around the lower end of the lumbar vertebrae to the upper part of the buttocks (at the level of the sacrum) and further to the crotch area, thereby improving the prevention of leakage from the crotch area of the diaper 10.

From the above viewpoints, the width W8 of the back-side central narrow bonding region 32 is preferably 90% or less, more preferably 85% or less, and even more preferably 80% or less of each of the width W7 of the back-side upper wide bonding region 31 and the width W9 of the back-side lower wide bonding region 33. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of improving the adhesion between the absorbent main body 1 and the back-side outer body 22, the width W8 is preferably 10% or more, more preferably 15% or more, and even more preferably 20% or more of each of the widths W7 and W9.
In the dorsal central narrow joint region 32 having a stepped planar shape in the example shown in Figure 2, the width of the narrower region is W8A and the width of the wider region is W8B. It is preferable that both the width W8A and the width W8B are within the range of the width W8 described above, and the width W8B is preferably the same as the width W2 of the ventral central narrow joint region 52.

The widths W7 and W9 in the waist circumference direction X of the upper back wide joining region 31 and the lower back wide joining region 33 may be the same or different. From the viewpoint of improving the flexibility of the absorber 16 or the absorbent main body 1 and increasing the ease with which the sides of the absorber stand up, it is preferable that they are the same.
The widths W7 and W9 in the waist circumference direction X of the upper back wide joining region 31 and the lower back wide joining region 33 may be the same as or shorter than the width in the waist circumference direction X of the absorbent main body 1. From the viewpoint of making it easier to expand the waist area, it is preferable that they are shorter than the width of the absorbent main body 1.

The back-side central narrow joint region 32 is preferably located at the center of the back-side exterior body 22 in the waist circumference direction X.
The width W8 of the back-side central narrow joint region 32 in the waist circumference direction X is preferably 50% or less, more preferably 40% or less, and even more preferably 30% or less of the width W10 of the back-side outer body 22 in the waist circumference direction X, from the viewpoint of facilitating folding of the absorbent main body 1 when the wearer's body bends. Furthermore, the width W8 is preferably 10% or more, more preferably 15% or more, from the viewpoint of improving the fit of the back portion 10R. This configuration allows the outer regions of the back-side central narrow joint region 32 in the width direction to bend in response to the force exerted by the absorbent body 16 when the wearer sits down, etc. In this respect, it is preferable that both the width W8A and the width W8B are within the above-mentioned range of width W8, and it is preferable that the width W8B be the same as the width W2 of the ventral central narrow joint region 52.

The side edge elastics 18 are arranged across the ventral non-bonded region 41 and the back-side non-bonded region 42, and it is preferable that the length H9 of the side edge elastics 18 arranged in the back-side non-bonded region 42 be longer than the length H8 of the side edge elastics 18 arranged in the back-side non-bonded region 42. This makes it easier to ensure that the side edge elastics 18 raise both side edges 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1 in the back-side non-bonded region 42, where force caused by the wearer sitting is less likely to be transmitted. Here, the length H9 of the side edge elastics 18 arranged in the back-side non-bonded region 42 refers to the length in the body length direction Y of the side edge elastics 18 arranged in a position overlapping the back-side non-bonded region 42 in the unfolded state. When the back-side non-bonded region 42 includes the bonded and fixed portions 181 of the side edge elastics 18, this includes both the length of the side edge elastics 18 that are bonded at the bonded and fixed portions 181 and the length of the side edge elastics 18 that are not bonded. Similarly, the length H8 of the side edge elastics 18 arranged in the abdominal non-bonded region 41 refers to the length in the body length direction Y of the side edge elastics 18 arranged in a position overlapping the back non-bonded region 42 in the unfolded state, and in the case where the back non-bonded region 42 includes the bonded and fixed parts 181 of the side edge elastics 18, it includes both the length of the side edge elastics 18 that are bonded at the bonded and fixed parts 181 and the length of the unbonded side edge elastics 18. In the example shown in Fig. 2, both the back non-bonded region 42 and the abdominal non-bonded region 41 include both the side edge elastics 18 that are bonded at the bonded and fixed parts 181 and the side edge elastics 18 that are not bonded.
From the viewpoint of making it easier to bend the back-side absorber by the force of the side edge elastics 18, the length H9 of the side edge elastics 18 arranged in the back-side non-bonded region 42 is preferably 1.5 times or more, more preferably 1.3 times or more, and even more preferably 4 times or more, the length H8 of the side edge elastics 18 arranged in the ventral-side non-bonded region 41. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of suppressing shrinkage around the waist of the back-side portion 10R due to the side edge elastics 18 and maintaining a good fit around the waist, the length H8 is preferably 10 times or less, more preferably 8 times or less, and even more preferably 7 times or less, the length H7.

It is preferable that the average basis weight of the absorber 16 arranged in a position overlapping the back-side non-bonded region 42 is smaller than the average basis weight of the absorber 16 arranged in a position overlapping the ventral-side non-bonded region 41. In this way, it is possible to more reliably cause the both side portions 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1 to rise up in the back-side portion, where force caused by the wearer sitting is less likely to be transmitted.
From the viewpoint of improving the liquid absorbency in the back portion 10R, the average basis weight of the absorber 16 arranged in a position overlapping with the back non-bonded region 42 is preferably 10% or more, more preferably 15% or more, and even more preferably 25% or more of the average basis weight of the absorber 16 arranged in a position overlapping with the ventral non-bonded region 41. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of improving the ease of bending of the absorber 16 or the absorbent main body 1 in the back portion 10R, the average basis weight of the absorber 16 arranged in the back non-bonded region 42 is preferably 90% or less, more preferably 70% or less, and even more preferably 50% or less of the average basis weight of the absorber 16 arranged in the ventral non-bonded region 41.

It is preferable that the length H6 in the length direction Y of the back-side central narrow bonded region 32 is longer than the length H2 in the length direction Y of the ventral-side central narrow bonded region 52. By increasing the bending of the back-side non-bonded region 42 toward the skin side, the rise of the both side portions 1A, 1A of the absorbent main body 1 in the back-side portion 10R can be more reliably prevented, and leakage of excrement, including feces, can be prevented.
From the viewpoint of improving the ease of bending of the absorbent body 16 or the absorbent main body 1 in the back-side portion 10R, the length H6 in the length direction Y of the back-side central narrow bonding region 32 is preferably 1.1 times or more, more preferably 1.5 times or more, and even more preferably 2 times or more, the length H2 in the length direction Y of the ventral central narrow bonding region 52. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of improving the adhesion between the absorbent main body 1 and the back-side outer body 22, the length H6 in the length direction Y of the back-side central narrow bonding region 32 is preferably 5 times or less, more preferably 4 times or less, and even more preferably 3 times or less, the length H2 in the length direction Y of the ventral central narrow bonding region 52.
