Description
This invention is a protective suit for working inside an area that contains airborne hazardous substances, and a device for safely transporting items necessary for work inside from the atmosphere.
Toxic substances such as toxic gases, bacteria, and radioactive dust that spread through the air pose a threat to people. With globalization, viruses that originate somewhere on Earth have repeatedly become pandemics around the world, posing a major threat to humanity.
The most important thing to do to combat the virus is to isolate infected individuals, the source of the outbreak, to prevent further spread and allow them to recover. Furthermore, sealed treatment rooms are necessary for treating those who have fallen ill. Entry and exit into treatment rooms is currently restricted to medical personnel who have received special training in donning and doffing protective clothing, and the burden on medical personnel has increased as the virus spreads. If protective clothing could be developed that could be used universally by the general public without special training, not only medical personnel but many other people could safely participate in COVID-19 infection control efforts.
Additionally, the use of intermediate transitional spaces to transport materials into and out of enclosures is a method of dealing with hazardous materials, but this requires the acquisition of special equipment, materials, and handling techniques. Here too, there is a need for safe and simple transport systems.
Those working inside isolated spaces where toxic substances are floating around use various protective clothing and equipment to avoid exposure to toxic substances. Special training is required to use this protective clothing and equipment, and it is disposable after each entry and exit. As a result, during outbreaks such as the COVID-19 pandemic, there are shortages of personnel, protective clothing, and equipment, making it impossible to stop the spread of infection, resulting in many infections and causing a collapse not only of the medical system but also of the economy.
Tools and protective clothing have been proposed for entering and exiting a shielded space where toxic substances are floating without being exposed to the toxic substances. Patent Document 1 proposes a composite slider that can be used in protective clothing for isolated spaces. The composite slider in Patent Document 1 is designed to connect and separate the spaces enclosed by each of the two zippers. By using one of the enclosed spaces closed by the zipper as protective clothing, work inside a space where toxic substances are floating can be performed safely.
However, the composite slider disclosed in Patent Document 1 cannot avoid the possibility of introducing harmful substances into the isolated space because the disengaged fastener is released into the isolated space. Also, special training is required to operate the device.
A full-coverage protective suit (25) that can be safely and repeatedly used inside a shielded space and does not require special training for putting on and taking off, and a device (56) for carrying materials and equipment into and out of the shielded space are provided by utilizing a device and method for joining and separating a shielded space surrounded by a shielded space isolation membrane (11) and a protected space surrounded by a protected space isolation membrane (12) .
The mechanism for separating and joining the shielded space and the protected space is explained using a diagram.
As shown in Figure 1, when two pairs of meshed shielding membrane fasteners (1) and protective membrane fasteners (2) are passed through the composite slider (3) of Figure 2, facing each other, the two facing fasteners are cut at the front branch (49) of the hollow guideway (10) in the composite slider as shown in Figures 3 and 4, and then twisted 90 degrees as they pass through their respective hollow guideways, as shown in Figure 5, and joined alternately at the rear branch (47) . As these two pairs of fastener teeth are cut, separated, twisted, and joined within the composite slider (3) , the state of the two pairs of fasteners enclosed within them changes between the entry and exit sides of the composite slider (3) , as shown in Figure 6. The protected space separated within the shielded space on the entry side is now connected to the outside space.
As shown in Figure 13, when entering and exiting the protected space, the exit side of the protected space is in communication with the atmospheric space, and the protected space inside the shielded space is separated, the protected space isolation membrane (12) can be used as a full-coverage protective suit (25) . The protective suit (25) can be easily and repeatedly worn to safely work inside the enclosure.
The assembly and use of the device will be explained step by step.
As shown in Figure 13, the device is assembled by attaching the space isolation joint tube (4) to the inside of the space isolation membrane (11) of the isolation space, and attaching the tip of the protective membrane fastener (2) to the space isolation joint tube (4).
First , a shielding membrane fastener (1) is attached to the position of the entrance and exit of the spatial isolation membrane (11) , and the shielding membrane fastener tip protrusion (54) is fastened to the fastener tip fixing box (15) of the spatial separation joint tube (4) as shown in Figure 8. Next, as shown in Figure 9, a composite slider (3) is attached to the shielding membrane fastener (1) , and the composite slider tip pulling string (5) attached to the spatial separation joint tube (4) is pulled to bring the composite slider tip surface (55) into close contact with the fastener tip fixing box (15) .
Next, as shown in Fig. 10, the protective membrane fastener tip pulling string (6) that has passed through the hollow guide path (10) in the composite slider is attached to the protective membrane fastener tip pulling string attachment hole ( 36) attached to the protective space isolation membrane (12 ), and is pulled into the fastener tip fixing box ( 15 ) in the space separation joint tube (4) as shown in Fig. 11. Since the shielding membrane fastener tip protrusion (54) that has been protruded from the shielding space isolation membrane (11) in advance is fixed to the fastener tip fixing box ( 15) , the shielding membrane fastener tip protrusion (54) and the protective membrane fastener tip protrusion (23) are interlocked and held in the fastener tip fixing box (15 ) as shown in Fig. 5 .
In this state, when the composite slider (3) is moved away from the space separation connecting tube (4) , the protected space within the isolation space is connected to the atmospheric space between the space separation connecting tube (4) and the composite slider tip surface (55) , as shown in Figure 12. If the length of this connecting portion is long enough for a person to enter and exit, they can enter the protective suit (25) without being affected by harmful substances in the isolation space. Once inside the protective suit (25) , the composite slider (3) is returned to the space separation connecting tube (4) , the tip of the protective membrane zipper (2) is pulled out from the composite slider (3) , the protective space membrane zipper tip pulling string (6) is removed from the protective membrane zipper tip protrusion (23) , the protective suit (25) is separated from the shielded space isolation membrane (11) , and work inside the isolation space can be performed. After the work is completed, the protective membrane fastener tip pulling string (6) is attached to the protective membrane fastener tip protrusion (23) , the tip of the protective membrane fastener (2) is stored in the fastener tip fixing box (15) inside the space separation joint tube (4), and the composite slider (3) is released from the space separation joint tube (4) and exits to the atmospheric space.
In this patent, the protective clothing can be put on and taken off simply by opening and closing a composite zipper, reducing the time it takes to enter and exit. The protective clothing can be sewn into a full cover using fabrics appropriate for each task, allowing it to be reused multiple times. The automated device, which utilizes a gear mechanism, allows infected people to safely enter and exit quarantined rooms without special training in putting on and taking off protective clothing, allowing many people involved to participate in virus prevention work.
Figures 13 and 14 show an embodiment of the present invention. In Figure 13, a protective suit (25) is attached to the protective membrane opening/closing device (shown in Figure 1). The protective membrane opening/closing device is previously attached to the shielding membrane protrusion (24) provided on the inside of the shielded space isolation membrane (11) . When the composite slider (3) is moved downward from the atmosphere by the composite slider end pulling cord (7) using the composite slider end pulling cord drive motor (22) , the shielding membrane fastener (1) and the protective membrane fastener (2) are joined as shown in Figure 6, allowing a person to safely enter the protective suit (25) without coming into contact with toxic substances floating in the shielded space isolation membrane (11) . After entering the protective suit ( 25 ) and turning on the separately installed air intake device (not shown), the operator turns on the composite slider tip pulling string (5) drive motor (16) to wind up the composite slider tip pulling string winding drum (18) , and advances and holds the composite slider (3) to the innermost part of the space isolation joint tube (4) shown in Figure 15 to the state shown in Figure 12. The operator pulls out the protective membrane zipper tip protrusion (23) until it separates from the composite slider end surface (21) , releases the connection between the protective membrane zipper tip protrusion (23) and the protective membrane zipper tip pulling string (6) , stores the protective membrane zipper tip protrusion (23) in a pocket (not shown) of the protective suit (25) , and performs work inside the shielded space isolation membrane (11) .
After entering the protective suit (25) and activating a separately installed air intake device (not shown), the worker operates the composite slider tip pulling cord (5) by operating the composite slider tip pulling cord drive motor (16) to wind up the composite slider tip pulling cord winding drum (18) , and advances and holds the composite slider (3) to the innermost part of the space isolation joint tube (4) to the state shown in Figure 12. The worker pulls out the protective membrane zipper tip protrusion (23) until it separates from the composite slider end surface (21) , releases the connection between the protective membrane zipper tip protrusion (23) and the protective membrane zipper tip pulling cord (6) , stores the protective membrane zipper tip protrusion (23) in a pocket (not shown) of the protective suit (25) , and performs work inside the shielded space isolation membrane (11) .
After the work is completed, the protective membrane zipper tip protrusion (23) is taken out of the pocket of the protective suit (25) and connected to the protective membrane zipper tip pulling string (6) , then the protective membrane zipper tip pulling string drive motor (17) is turned on to wind the protective membrane zipper tip pulling string (6) onto the protective membrane zipper tip pulling string winding drum (19) , and the protective membrane zipper tip protrusion (23) is stored and held in the zipper tip fixing box (15) . Once held, the composite slider end pulling string drive motor (22) can be operated, so the composite slider end pulling string (7) is wound up and the composite slider (3) is moved downward, joining the shielding membrane zipper (1) and the protective membrane zipper (2) , allowing the protective suit (25) to escape into the atmosphere.
In Figure 14, materials and equipment are placed inside the protected space isolation membrane (12) and attached to the protective membrane opening/closing device shown in Figure 1. The protective membrane opening/closing device is attached in advance to the shielding membrane protrusion (24) provided on the outside of the shielding space isolation membrane (11) . When the composite slider (3) is moved downward by the composite slider end pulling string (7) and the composite slider end pulling string drive motor (22) , the shielding membrane fastener (1) and the protective membrane fastener (2) are joined, so that the protected space and the atmospheric space are connected , and materials and equipment can be transported from the atmosphere into the shielding space isolation membrane (11) without worrying about toxic substances floating in the shielding space isolation membrane (11) leaking into the atmosphere.
When materials and equipment are to be transported from inside the shielded space isolation membrane (11) into the atmosphere, the protective space isolation membrane (12) is attached to the shielding membrane protrusion (24) provided on the outside of the shielded space isolation membrane (11) , the shielding membrane fastener (1) and the protective membrane fastener (2) are joined, and the contaminants inside are taken into the protective space isolation membrane (12) , and then the protective space isolation membrane (12) is cut off and transported into the atmosphere.
A drive unit in which a gear is attached to a composite slider will be described.
A composite slider reciprocating gear (26) , a gear drive motor (27), and a gear drive gear (28) are attached to the composite slider (3) . When the gears are rotated, the gears are interlocked via two-axis meshing, and each gear meshes with the teeth of the shielding membrane zipper (1) or the protective membrane zipper (2) , allowing the composite slider (3) to reciprocate along the zipper. This reciprocating motion allows the donning and doffing of protective clothing. When connecting and disconnecting an isolation space and a protective space using a gear device, the reciprocating motion can be not only linear, but also a curved line that is rational for donning and doffing protective clothing. Depending on the donning and doffing process, door-type opening and closing mechanisms, or curtain-type or noren-type mechanisms, can be used, and the shielding membranes of the opposing isolation spaces can be made into rigid plates, simplifying and automating the donning and doffing of protective clothing.
In addition, a gear that meshes with the teeth of the protective membrane fastener (1) is attached to one of the shafts as shown in Figure 16, so that the drive shaft can be moved by the gear drive gear (28) , allowing the protective membrane fastener (2) to reciprocate independently . This allows the tip of the protective membrane fastener (2) to be introduced from the end face (21) of the composite slider, and then the protective membrane fastener tip protrusion (23) can be sent into the fastener tip fixing box (15) , or the tip of the protective membrane fastener (2) can be removed from the spatial separation joint tube (4) and the interior of the composite slider (3) .
This allows the protective clothing (25) to be put on and taken off by remote operation, omitting the protective membrane fastener tip pulling string (6) , the composite slider terminal pulling string ( 7) , the tip pulling string winding device (8), and the terminal pulling string winding device (9) .
This article explains a device that can manually connect and disconnect shielded spaces . As shown in Figures 17 to 21, by dividing the composite slider (3) into three parts and attaching side buckles to each part, the composite slider (3) can be moved back and forth and the fastener tip of the protective clothing (5) can be attached and detached manually. The same can be done for carrying in and out equipment and materials.
